Day 7: Prideful Rally

I am very glad I was able to finish this before the end of Pride month. So here is another installment of Twinktober: The Ultimate Soup! With Day 7: Prideful Rally! Dio is definitely Shining his Pride flags happily and blushing. Gigi just taking the picture of this wonderful boy. Pastel’s make me so happy, and seeing Dio wear his flags happily makes me so happy! **He first noticed it during the comedown periods after panic attacks. He'd get all floaty and ditzy for a bit. Brought it up with his therapist. They recommended looking into age regression and to see if he could potentially use it beneficially. - Sure, why not. Initially just got himself some adult coloring books and markers and started watching kids shows while he found his way back into a stable headspace. - It, eventually, did escalate. Namely with his regression being triggered at cognito, being the first time that had ever happened with someone else (Andre and Reagan) present.

He no longer struggles as much with accepting that side of himself. It's just the way he is. He's an adult, who sometimes just isn't. And that's okay. - **It's become more peaceful as well, no longer being exclusively triggered by panic attacks but also now being somewhat voluntary to de-escalate in certain situations.

His age range is both broad and hard to pinpoint! So he'll be sitting with a pacifier and a plushie...watching or doing something entirely not toddler appropriate!

He likes chewlery, teethers & pacifiers at any age! Though, he does have a general preference for chewlery!

Is really into just watching people, especially Reagan!! (she's still nervous about having the kid in her lab though, she doesn't like children, they are sticky…)

Definitely a little displaced in time, prefers 80s nostalgia over his actual 90s childhood

Loves to learn, anything and everything, bothering people with 2nd grade level fun facts is considered an activity for him

Fidgety. Never stops moving. His energy levels seem to somehow increase !? Loves outdoor play when he succeeds in pestering someone long enough to actually play with him!

Tends to float more around middle-space, at about 10-12!

"do you have games on your phone?" energy

Scooby Doo, Blue's Clues, Ghostbusters and Sesame Street are common background noise in the Hand Bachelor pad !

Not mega picky with food! But...if you really can't get him to eat something...ketchup or sprinkles will help 9/10 times..little weirdo /lh

Collects doggie toys!! Especially plushies!

The one thing he kept from his actual childhood is a yellow puppy luvvie,, it's still in pretty good shape and he's often toting it with him around the house!

Overall I think he's really just the sweetest little kid. He needs a fair amount of reassurance from those watching him that he, in fact, is not being too much or annoying. And they, IN FACT, are doing this because they love him and want to see him happy!!

**He does have his moments, not surprisingly. He's not always a happy camper when small, especially if negatively triggered. Sometimes it's a bit of a gamble if he'll come up from an episode and stay in his adult headspace, slip under and relax, or if you're gonna have an especially teary and clingy kiddo.

The gang loves him. Reagan would commit unspeakable atrocities for this kid. Gigi just wants to shower him in prezzies from rich auntie! Andre and Myc are..questionable babysitters...but nothing has happened yet! (because no one lets them babysit.) And Glenn has to be verbally whacked on occasion - no, Mr Dolphman, Brett does not want to learn how to [insert strange dolphin surgery veteran activity] !!!

I don't want this post to be too long but tbh I could go on!!! ⭐🌈

“A One Direction tattoo?” Gigi asked.

Daya snorted. “I know.”

Gigi barely heard, entranced by Crystal pulling their vest down to expose part of their chest. There was a tattoo in another language, which they pointed at proudly. “It says One Direction in Arabic.”

“Oh,” Gigi said. Her throat felt dry again.

And they set a good example of what you should be like with your partner,” she said, absently braiding Gigi’s hair as she spoke. It wasn’t neat and it wouldn’t hold but it was relaxing. “But I always worried I wouldn’t be able to find someone I loved like that. Or I’d be so worried about it that I’d never settle down with anyone.”

“Are you still worried?” Gigi asked. Her face was still tucked into Crystal’s shoulder but she could feel her smiling.

“I haven’t been worried for a long time,” Crystal laughed, letting go of the braid so it unravelled itself.

Crystal kissed the side of her neck and smoothed her hands over Gigi’s thighs, her skin impossibly soft and smooth. “Okay?” she asked as her fingers snuck beneath the hem of her shorts.

And who was Crystal to deny her? First she touched her through her shorts.

Crystal came to get a closer look, her eyebrows raised. “I’ve already eaten,” she said apologetically. “Thank you, though. Just the lemonade would be great.”

“Okay,” Gigi said. She gave her salad one last shake to make it wiggle before putting it back in the refrigerator.

There’s no good reason to give this a whole post beside how cute I thought the graphic was lol but anyway the real point is that Jae is so serious about gifts. He loves having the holidays as an excuse he can’t be stopped.

GINNY — requested: n/a — It’s been a long time since Jae stopped asking Ginny what she wants; her answers always suck. This year, he stole her airpods and wrapped them in a giant box, then restocked her snack stash with all her favorites when she wasn’t looking.

JAN: — requested: a Dior jacket he likes — By far one of the most straightforward answers, but it did take a lot of Dealing With Jan first before he could actually focus. It was easy enough to acquire, but a single jacket seemed so lonely without other pieces to go with it, so Jae made Jan pick out a matching outfit.

CYNTHIA: — requested: “ the ugliest thing you can find ” — There is some truly heinous Moschino out there he could have gotten her, but even Jae won’t allow another burger skirt to walk around. He compromised by getting this 2018 Stella McCartney and he’s insisting she wear it out. He tossed in a YSL Libre because it can’t all be bad.

NARUMI: — requested: flowers — Never much of a flowers guy since there’s a few he’s allergic to, Jae tried to keep it classic. He ordered a giant, colorful bouquet, only sneezed once, and went searching for the prettiest crystal vase he could find. Then he ordered some Belgian chocolate for the giggles, and to round things out.

MINJEONG: — requested: a set of rings she’s been eyeing — So Minjeong did also jokingly imply she’d ask for a car instead if she could only drive and Jae wanted to give her shit for it but he was like so real it’s not in our culture to drive (🌈 not sk) but anyway. He did get her those rings, but he also got her a personal driver.

ARIEL: — requested: sent a list of colors, textures, flavors etc. she likes — Jae knows very little about Hanukkah, but he was very ready to assemble eight gifts. Doled out in singularly wrapped gifts for each day, the first three (shoes, blouse, pants) made a full matching outfit, while the next two (dress, jewelry) could be paired with the shoes to make another. The next day held some Baccarat Rouge 540, the day after that a spa pass. The last day, in an effort to stay festive, finally, he gave her a handful of chocolate coins, for gelt.

NATE: — requested: sent a gdoc link of spam instead of answering — Nate is impossible to shop for, so it was easier to just tease him instead. So Jae got him some shoe inserts to help with his height problem, and dinner for two at his favorite restaurant, just so Nate doesn’t try to kill him in his sleep.

GIGI: — requested: a birkin — Truly an angel on earth, she didn’t give him any trouble answering and was clear about exactly what she wanted. Jae has some kind of complex where he can’t just hand over a single gift, though, so he filled her bag with little treats before he was finally ready to give it to her.

KLAUS: — requested: n/a — Like Ginny, they were barely consulted for their gift. Jae didn’t even bother wrapping his up, he just left a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine & a year-long pass to a luxury bathhouse

1.) I love to draw. I actually went to art school for illustration, but unfortunately I haven't been doing it a lot recently 😅

2.) My previous special interest before Elvis just so happened to be Elton John. I had grown up with his hits but after the Rocketman movie I got a little obsessed with his discography. I recommend his autobiography called 'Me'

3.) I'm a lark. I wake up around 6:30 am and wait for my 7 am alarm to go off, and I wake up chatty too

4.) Keeping the bird theme, I'm also a magpie, I got all types of little figures, dolls, and post cards. I just love arranging stuff in a display. If it's neat, I'll pick it up and tape it to my wall

5.) My GO-TO comfort movie that I can watch over and over again is the 1997 made for TV Cinderella

6.) I've never been interested in astrology but I will one hundred percent get a virgo hat or t shirt if the design is dope

7.) I adore the Cats musical, I had the DVD of filmed broadway production and idc what anyone says a plotless show about humanoid cats introducing themselves is a perfect set up for a musical

8.) On that thought, last night I had a dream about a crazy fuckin cat trying to get at me, even as I held it's paw back its claws just kept getting longer and longer, that was horror movie shit

9.) I once got an autograph from the voice actor that voiced Kovu in the Lion King 2, it's sitting in the corner of my room as we speak

There’s this look on Bette face when she sees Gi and Dani at the bar in the love shack episode (episode 6 I think). I’m curious what you thought of it. Was it - huh, Gigi moved on too soon look? Or something else entirely?

Hey Anon,

I think Bette's being her usual unreasonable self, a trait we see throughout the second season. But I think part of the reason for this look can be found in an earlier scene:

This scene is from episode 5, when Gigi tells her that she has plans to meet someone, Bette's response was an instant and snarky "that was fast" despite the fact that she's the one who has one foot out of the relationship and is clearly using Gigi. This is the first time she learns that Gigi and Dani have been spending time together and even though Gigi assures her by implying that it's just friendship, Bette looks far from pleased.

Now, onto the karaoke sequence, I initially thought that perhaps she looked like that because she felt protective of Dani but on re-watching the scene (multiple times) I'm less convinced of this because she speaks with Dani immediately after the performance and you don't see any of it in her demeanour, which leads me to believe that her problem was with Gigi, not Dani.

Despite everything that Bette's says, her life's a bit of a mess at the moment, she's not sure whether Pippa would listen to what she has to say, plus things with Angie are tense and suddenly both Tina and Carrie have become permanent fixtures in her life, so things aren't going great...at all.

I think part of the reason for that look is "how can Gigi move on so quickly" but the other part is jealousy. And jealousy not just that Gigi appears to be moving on but also that she seems happy, she's having fun with Dani and I think that Bette feels a little bitter about it. It's also why she's as brutal as she is when she and Gigi speak at the bar. I think it's borne out of bitterness because she believes, completely, that she's better than Gigi and to see her having fun, irked her more than she'd like to admit.
