the home stretch!!
disclaimer: can't promise that i'll have any insights that a layperson wouldn't have, this is kinda just me thinking through the grammar of the language out loud haha.
this post covers the fifth and last language in chants of sennaar and will contain spoilers for both the language and the endgame! it also assumes you know what the symbols mean already.
i.... to be completely honest with you, i did not enjoy this language 😂 i think the experience of deciphering it got lost in favor of the storyline, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for everyone, but hey, i am the one going through each of these languages like a linguistic bloodhound here lol. because of that, i'm not as familiar with these words as i am with the other languages.
before we get into anything else, and also because i imagine that this will be a shorter post because the game itself tells you what patterns to look for, i do want to say that this language strikes me as being incredibly artificial. which is a good thing! it emulates the digital apocalypse vibe that exile gives. but a language that leans so heavily into being constructed and recombined and modulated so easily really gives me the impression that it was created and not organically developed. the only other irl example that comes to mind at the moment is korean hangeul, which was purposefully created by king sejong and is an alphabet, not a logography. like, this is a language that i would make for fun in high school (which is to say, it gives a kind of overly grammatically strict, awkwardly too regular vibe?).
it's kind of funny that this language is where i'm starting to get reminded of conlangs, especially when, well, everything in this game is a conlang. but if we take each of the radicals in this language as affixes/morphemes when they're being combined into one character, then this actually reminds me of a specific conlang (ithkuil, i think?) where you can convey incredibly complex ideas through very few words.
the language of the anchorites isn't quite this complex, but hopefully the comparison gets my point across?
i’m curious if only certain elements can be combined with each other or if there’s a certain order to them, but it’s hard to tell when there’s such limited evidence in the game. interestingly, i believe the anchorites’ language is the only one in this game that makes a distinction between “die” and “death/dead” by combining the noun with the verb “go”. not sure why the developers suddenly made that decision haha.
this language, like most in the game, is an SVO language, which we can see below:
but i think also they (the developers) were trying to convey more complex sentence structures than their language was designed to communicate??? so then you end up w smth like below:
which, if you translated literally, would actually be “you man i wait”. again, super interesting bc i think an actual, more accurate anchorite sentence should be “i wait you man”. they have a more complex sentence here bc of the predicate (“you’re the one”) and the dative (“for”), but really the sense that they’re trying to go for is “i was awaiting the one [who is you]”. i guess it’s possible that different grammatical cases are treated differently in this language, or that, like english, word order is occasionally variable (even tho that option seems iffy bc we haven’t really seen evidence of it before), but tbh i suspect that really it’s that the developers wrote the dialogue and then brute forced it into the anchorite language haha. no shade! (and also impossible to confirm either way lol) just kinda amusing and also it makes sense when it’s p obvious their focus shifted from the language to the story.
this trend continues throughout all of the anchorite dialogue (imo) and makes it kinda slow and awkward to read if you don’t have all of the characters translated. in my opinion, the way that the language functions in the last part of this game makes it pretty clear that the developers meant for you to rely on the given translations during this potion of the game, especially when the translation mechanic is mostly through the matching terminals in exile, rather than speaking with people.
annoyingly, the anchorites’ language is also the only one in the game that doesn’t have words for the other people/cultures in the game (demonyms), which also doesn’t give much to work off of in terms of cultural context, relationships, etc.
again, i’ve decided not to get into an in-depth orthographic analysis of this particular language bc the game itself introduces you to them. one that i noticed that wasn’t specifically addressed in-game is the similarity between “open” and “key”, which is something that i actually also noted before in the devotees’ language. i’m sure there are others, but i’m also sure you can find them yourself!

*POYT 5 UPDATE* + some general chit chat lol
lmfao at the way I thought I could contain this beast of a fic under 30k words. I’m at 29k words rn and still have 1.5 scenes left to write plus the epilogue… so it’s safe to say it’ll be longer than 30k words.
Also if anything has made me doubt my writing, it’s this fic. I just… I want it to live up to expectations so bad that I keep going back and editing it. And that’s made me hate parts of it and I panic bc I don’t want to change it but then I do but then I don’t and I just… UGH! I just want to be 1000% happy with it but I feel like that’s impossible at this point.
One thing I hate about my writing is the way I just go on and on and there’s so much unnecessary preamble, so I always go back and try and edit all that out. Like delete all the random extra wording I use and just try and get to the point faster. But then even that’s hard bc every single thing I’ve written in poyt 5 is just so relevant to the story!
Now I have so many doubts bc maybe I should’ve split it into two parts, maybe I should’ve changed the plot and done it different and I just… IT’S TOO LATE TO CHANGE IT and honestly I’m happy with my original plot but I’m also scared of how it’ll be perceived. Bc I remember a few people were critical of the Bucky spin-off and like… with how much effort I’ve put into this 30+k fic, I think I’d actually cryyyy if people perceived it badly.
BUT THEN the rational part of my head is reassuring me that it’ll be fine… that I’ve genuinely worked so hard on it that it can’t actually be as bad as I sometimes think it is. Bc I’ll read it and not think it’s “epic” enough to be a fitting conclusion but like… this isn’t GOT we’re talking about it’s just POYT 🥲😂 and POYT isn’t meant to be epic, it’s meant to be heartwrenching and sad and emotional… which I think it is!!
Ultimately, I’ve stayed true to my original idea. Of course I’ve made minor changes along the way (plus one huge major change to the ending that I had originally envisioned but we’ll discuss that once the chapter is out heheh). BUT YEAH, this is all just mindless mind chatter and insecurities and I’m just writing it all down bc it’s better to get your feelings out isn’t it…
I guess my worst fear is people saying that the fic was draggy, that it got too tedious and long for them, that it got boring halfway through, that it wasn’t what they thought it was going to be, that I let them down, that i bit off more than I could chew and now I haven’t given them a satisfactory conclusion. And I honestly don’t know how I’d defend myself to all this criticism if I got it bc I genuinely tried my best.
But let’s also remember that I started writing this fic back in January. And other writers know that when we reread our work we always want to change it or tweak it or in hindsight we know we could’ve written it better. And I HAVE tweaked it since then and rewritten and edited and all that… but I’ve kept the plot bc I have faith in it… this is the story I want to tell.
And I realise that writing all this is kind of insane and I know people are side eying me and rolling their eyes but guys I’m just putting my emotions down and I’m genuinely scared. I’ve always said that whenever I post a new chapter of poyt, it’s insane the way my heart beats and my palms get sweaty like I SWEAR to you I have a whole ass panic attack each time I post but it’s always vindicated by the amazing feedback so it’s a win win
HONESLTG reading over this word vomit I feel like I sound insane but genuinely I’m just trying to get my thoughts down. I guess I’m just super insecure about this last chapter but honestly, anyone in my position would be?? Right??? I just hope you guys love it. And the characters are believable and you think the writing is good

I’m sorry but “might have definitely dated” sounds funny af
Anyway personally I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Whether people believe Leah dated Jordan or not (i think it’s kinda insane not to but i get it for people who weren’t around at a time. The last Valentines day when they posted for. each other Leah also liked some tweets from a woso journo praising the gay couples who were brave enough to post each other for making everyone feel like woso is a welcoming community. Patting herself on the back there Leah 😂)
What was i saying… whether people believe they dated or not it’s been pretty well known or at least suspected that Leah was into girls even before she started dating Jordan. She used to get spotted quite often at a gay club in MK, Pink’s, even tweeted herself about going there once (and got hate from a bunch of weirdo men. as an 18 yr old. imagine ffs), first day after deleting Jordan from her insta after they most likely broke up she was pictured at a wlw event.. she didn’t waste any time there lol
And I don’t think Leah herself is too hung up on labels and would feel insulted. Most people i know see gay as an umbrella term anyway. See the comment she made on this insta post replying to her friend:

Anyway that’s just my 2 cents. You’re never gonna see me going to her insta and commenting “gay ass outfit” under her posts but i also don’t think we should police people that hard and be so overprotective. I feel like Leah gets infantilized a lot by the fandom bc people are under the impression that she was trying to become more private with Jordan and didn’t want anyone knowing about their relationship. When in reality they’ve just been broken up the entire time. It was only hopeful delusion and i think deep inside fans knew bc the change up was too sudden and without any real catalyst. I would’ve been suspicious if it happened when Leah was named permanent captain and gained popularity but it happened before that
Hm, yeah. I just think that I've been in too many fandoms where shipping between friends (most often) is way too prevalent, which probably is why I feel kinda iffy about certain rumors and whatnot between some players (not Leah in particular but), because there's been alot of celebrities that have actually spoken out about how uncomfortable shipping makes them.
Which is also why I don't really like to talk about possible couples or those kind of things (some ships are just unhinged too)
It was very clear that there has been a falling out between her and Jordan, which I assume would be the break up but friends fall out all the time without making it public.
Also the gay club thing I find so funny, like idk why but Leah is so funny(not the right word but)

After watching +20 shows (via livestream of course) i can finally gather my thoughts around it:
-Damn the people that made other people believe that Lover was a bad album for just one or two songs. Lover is the perfect opener and its really sad we didn't get Loverfest, the way Cruel Summer gets the crowd all hyped up within minutes wow just imagine 2hrs of just that
-Since the release i'd always favored folklore over evermore but i was so so so wrong! Evermore (in my opinion) is the strongest set of the tour, it really elevates and completes the album. The songs order is perfectly curated, the performances are distinctive but cohesive, and the public interaction during CP takes the cake. (and y'all may hate me but folklore set feels all over the place in comparison)
- The whiplash from the transition to Rep is necessary bc Rep is just in a league of its own. Reputation is THAT bitch and will always be THAT bitch, period. The crowd goes the loudest and the whole thing is just iconic.
- 1989, you will always be the be the perfect pop tracks, nothing more to say.
- At this point Midnights feels kinda rushed but for me the tour version sounds waaaay better than the studio version (at least for my ears). I think she should do a tour only for Midnights (idk when, she needs to rest too lol) but this set and performances have great potential, it just needs to be exploted. Also Karma is the perfect song to close the whole thing.

My thoughts? I mean the show is incredible. It makes sense in the long run because timing is everything. It’s strategically timed. There’s something for everyone. The visuals are a huge part of it.
MAATHP into Cruel Summer was the perfect opener. Somehow I'm craving more Lover. Her entrance is goddess-like.
I thought it was funny how one minute people are crying at the end of evermore and then the snake comes on stage and everyone has to wipe their tears like brave little soldiers to get …ready for it 😂 I bet that was strategic.
For the evermore section I feel like tolerate it should be replaced with ivy (ivy truther forever). Not a tolerate it hater, it makes for good theatrics, I just like ivy better.
You can tell in pictures how sparkly and magical the folklorian woods look, it makes sense. I personally love the visuals of the cardigan music video so that would’ve been cool to incorporate. mad woman would be fun to add to folklore too. I see evermore as a continuation of folklore so its hard for me to separate the two.
1989 is flawless.
What I enjoy the most is seeing her with her guitar for the surprise songs. She plays so beautifully. I wish that part was longer. So many of her songs come to life for me when its just her and her guitar. Theres only lover, fearless, all too well and betty that she plays guitar on. But I get that she has so much ground to cover.
For midnights we basically get clouds, closet visuals, vs stage for mastermind, burlesque energy for vigilante shit and rainbows for karma. I’ll take it, but I think there could have been more trippy visuals if time allowed.
I probably didn’t fully answer your question but basically, I accept the eras tour for all that it magically is and I’m just happy that Taylor is back out in the world. It’s nice to see her more than once every few months 😜

It’s worse though, bc she finds out her cheeky sister already KNEW and decided to not do anything (either for reaction purposes or laziness you decide💕) and now Nat has to figure out what to do with the creature and whether or not to throttle her sister while she’s at it 😂

Yelena instantly was on her feet from where she was in her room putting on her shoes, the somewhat panicked sound of Natasha’s voice rousing her and sending her instantly on edge.
She rushed into the living room, not knowing what to expect.
As soon as she came in, she realized that Natasha was sitting at the top of the couch, her body tensed and her eyes scanning the floor. Yelena approached behind her, stopping only when she was within a foot or two from her older sister.
“What’s wrong?” Yelena asked, every inch of her stiffened and ready for action as she looked around the room. Fanny was in the room as well, sniffing at Natasha briefly as she looked around, trying to understand the source of Natasha’s distress.
Natasha blinked, swallowing hard as she consciously made an effort to remain calm.
“I’m sorry, there was a, umm,” Natasha trailed off, her voice much calmer now, but to Yelena’s well-trained ears, the slight hint of terror in her tone was easy to hear.
“He just went over there,” Natasha explained to her, somewhat out of breath from the panic that had been coursing through her. Yelena looked in the direction that Natasha was pointing, and she quickly caught up with the entire situation, understanding what was going on far better at this point.
She almost laughed, but she quickly contained herself.
“Ooohhh… You have seen the mouse,” Yelena nodded, forcing a neutral facial expression. Natasha stared at her for a moment, silence resounding between them before she spoke up again.
“The mouse?” Natasha accentuated the word, raising an eyebrow at the implication that the mouse was actually a more established part of the household and had apparently resided there for longer than simply just when she saw him.
“Oh, yes, there’s a mouse in the house. I forgot to tell you,” Yelena offered her lame excuse. She was hoping that it sounded believable, however.
Truthfully, Yelena had been neglecting to tell Natasha because she had been eager for her reaction. Mice were one of the very few things that actually put Natasha on edge. It was similar to Yelena’s bee phobia, but Natasha usually handled it better. The mouse must have really unsettled her this time.
And honestly Yelena was getting far too much enjoyment out of this, but she could not let Natasha find out. Natasha did not need to know that Yelena had been purposefully hoping to get a scare out of her for all this time.
“I named him Jalapeño Gonzales. He’s like Speedy Gonzales’s cousin,” Yelena explained, nonchalance written in her words, and Natasha just gaped at her.
“He’s been around long enough to have a name?!” Natasha cried, and Yelena just looked in the direction that he had apparently left in.
“Well, yeah. I mean… I see him pass by all the time when I’m playing my game over here on the TV,” Yelena shrugged breezily, and Natasha just stared at her incredulously from her current perch on the back of the couch.
“Why would you sit there and watch him go by so many times without even trying to do something about it?!” Natasha finally demanded after getting herself together, and Yelena moved her hands helplessly.
“Look, he is like part of the family now!” Yelena cried, still trying to hide the laughter at the fact that Natasha was so scared and completely freaked out about this. She was extremely close to failing at this point.
“What is wrong with you?! Mice aren’t family! They’re pests that infect the house and eat holes in everything!” Natasha moved her hands, almost flailing as much as Yelena had been. Yelena felt the laugh entering her voice despite her best efforts.
“Natashka, it is just a mouse,” Yelena tried to assure her, her voice cracking just a little as she barely managed to keep from hysterically cackling.
“Well, yeah, but we just don’t need a scavenger in our house,” Natasha tried to write off her panic as simple concern about their home. Natasha casted a glance in the direction that the mouse had gone in, and she cautiously moved down from the couch, heading around the back of it as she approached Yelena.
“I take it you aren’t a fan of Speedy’s cousin?” Yelena asked, just managing to keep it together.
As soon as Natasha looked over at her, nothing but unimpressed, Yelena completely lost control of herself, laughs erupting from her.
Natasha groaned, and Yelena simply laughed even more.
“You want to elaborate and explain to me why you didn’t take care of him in the first place or am I safe in assuming that you just wanted to mess with me?” Natasha asked, and Yelena held her stomach.
“Now, moya starshaya sestra, I would never want to mess with you,” Yelena tried to pretend to be innocent despite the fact that the act was quite obviously in vain given how she was laughing at her so unashamedly. Natasha let out a deep sigh, glaring at her somewhat tiredly.
She then started toward the door, grabbing her purse, and Yelena just managed to get ahold of herself long enough to ask her where she was going.
“Why are you leaving so fast?” Yelena questioned, far too pleased with herself as she grinned from ear to ear.
“I’m going to get mouse traps,” Natasha explained, and she paused as she met eyes with the black cat lounging on the furniture.
“You need to do your job better,” Natasha scolded Liho from where the cat was lying on the back of the armchair.
Liho simply laid her ears back, her eyes half-lidded and unimpressed. She apparently did not appreciate Natasha’s tone and the fact that she was currently pointing at her.
Natasha hung her purse on her shoulder, starting to get her keys to head out of the house, and Yelena rushed over.
“Wait, wait, wait, hang on a second,” Yelena told her, moving over to touch her shoulder. Natasha stopped, meeting Yelena’s eyes with those exasperated light greens of her own.
“Don’t you think you should see the cartoons first?”
“What?” Natasha asked, simply staring at her as she remained completely lost and uncertain of what the blonde was talking about. Yelena let out a momentary huff before elaborating.
“Y’know. So you know what not to do when trying to catch a Gonzales,” Yelena told her, and Natasha groaned with slight irritation as the realization of what Yelena meant settled in upon her.
Yelena just laughed even harder.
“Goodbye, Yelena. I’ll see you later,” Natasha expressed, starting to head out of the door, and Yelena shook her head as she grabbed her phone from the counter.
“No, you aren’t getting rid of me that easily! You have to have your mouse expert,” Yelena told her as she started to head out the door behind her, giggles trailing after her as she followed the redhead and started to lock as well as shut the door behind them. Natasha turned back to glare at her halfheartedly.
“Oh, yeah, I forgot. You were the one that just sat there and watched him the whole time so you should be an expert on him after all this time,” Natasha sarcastically replied, but there was not as much bite in her tone as the words would imply.
Yelena just laughed even harder.

𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟚 Recap: Main Characters
Long post, woah. Well, I do have eight main OCs so no wonder...😂 I tried to pick my favourite 9 pictures of all of them from 2022. It was really difficult with some because they only had a few pictures (but in the end, everyone had more than 10). As always, Ross and Tyler win.
Let's talk characters under the cut, shall we?
Caleb, Tyler, Bianca
I didn't really develop their sims selves, but rather their nonsims counterparts in my vampire story -- Killián, Tori and Bianka. I need to get back to that. The burnout was getting to me so I took a little break but I should get back to writing now. Long story short, shit's going down and I'm so close to wrapping everything up!
I continue diving deep into Tyler's feminine side and I love every single minute of it. I should not be feeling this much gender envy but yes I do get a lot of gender envy from Tyler okay lol
Sharon
Same deal, I mostly developed her nonsims counterpart, Saren.
For her sims version, I considered making her a werewolf again, but I still haven't made the final decision...however, I'm like 99 % sure she will canonically be a werewolf.
Rory
Aka new Rachel because I wasn't really happy with Rachel's design anymore and needed a change. Rory is hands down one of my most beautiful sims I've created this year.
I haven't taken many pictures of her though...something to fix in 2023.
Ross & Claeb
Ross. The man, the myth, the legend. Not much to say about his development, but he got a lot of attention. Especially on twitter. Instagram too, I guess. Why is it that wherever I go, people love him? Is he really that amazing? 😂 I mean, I love him, but I never thought people would feel the same way and I still find it hard to believe.
Thank you, though. When you compliment him, I get more powerful, and that's not even a joke lol.
As for their relationship and the way I feel about them. Well, the rollercoaster lasted for...years, actually, but I think we're finally done with the ride. Caleb just *is* part of my OC group, there's no way around it. The face might be a townie but the personality I gave him, that's all my work...but at the same time, pouring that same personality behind another face just doesn't work lol.
And yes, they did break up in the legacy...I'll wrap up that storyline too, don't worry. 👀
Callias
Started off as a Caleb replacement, now a separate character who doesn't have that much in common with Caleb actually. Still needs a lot of development but boy. Do I love him.
Part of me wants to do a BC with him next year, part of me is like...he wouldn't settle for one partner. He's immortal, he's had many mortal lovers, he knows they'll go away, he's not too bothered by it. That's just the way he rolls, he's not looking for a forever soulmate.
Oh and he has history with Caleb...and shhh, I'm not sure if I'll explicitly say it in the legacy, but he'll have a thing with Ross too off screen (ts4!Ross I mean, ts3!Ross is a different deal) 🤭 And I wonder if I should have all three of them canonically meet later but...
Well, in an AU save...👀 All I'm saying is that they all would get along very well 🤭 Callias would somehow insert himself into their relationship for a bit and they'd just accept it. I feel like neither of them would realize they lowkey became a polycule until someone else would point it out 😂 But still, Callias wouldn't be with them *all* the time.

Been thinking more about failsafe & the more i think about it, the more im locked in on yoongi being worse than hb jimin ( brought up on previous asks of mine & who knows if they went through or if this one will go 🥴, apparently when im anonymous, asks will go through & when im not it’s 50/50) this man makes me feel such anger lmao & the last time a character of yours made me feel that way was that jk soulmate one. Seeing you talk about a “season two” gives me hope for some more jk & oc 🥰 lol. Bc that sort of open ending made me immediately think “bye yoongi, jk & oc are dating now” 😂
😂It’s hard to describe the feeling i was having when reading the scene between oc & the mom, to me it was like a mixture of sincere & insincere?? Idk what you did but i was conflicted after reading that lmao .
Also I HOPE namjoon does some more reflecting on how shitty of a brother he was being, i hope that man feels the guilt for YEARS! I just cant take yoongi seriously when he was doing the whole “ive loved you all this time/first love/stepped up” shit, bc ?? After doing basically everything wrong & putting oc through pain time & time again, you want us to believe he was in love with her 🤨🤨 ON TOP of getting married & having a child- with SAME women oc saw in her room like hhhuuuhhh?? Yoongi cant take that shit & leave. Cool he was keeping tabs on jk & subsequently oc, but what does that do?? Let me tell you- NOTHING.
He missed out on something good & came to terms with it way too late 💅🏼 oc & jk for the win.

This is an astrology and Taylor Swift post. I'm kind of obsessed with profection years and I have been listening to her album Midnights. I did not proof read this at all lol and if I'm wrong just pretend with me because I was excited thanks!
In Would've Could've Should've (my favorite song) she goes back and forth about how she regrets “dancing with the devil” at 19 and if she had known then what she knows now then she would’ve stayed praying and 19 is what?? An 8H year!
She mentions devil, ghosts, wounds, weapons idk if they're actually in the 8H but it's the vibe of trauma and death. To me she's describing the darkness of an 8H year and how you face a lot of trauma and of course the type depends on what sign you have in your own 8H. I relate so hard to this because I was going through it at 19 as well! Then her saturn return ends in December 2020 when saturn goes into Aquarius and that’s when she turns 31 starting her 8H year and when she releases Evermore which has a song called closure on it like how fitting! Closing out saturn return and 8H representing endings and past things and what does she start to do????????? Re-recording and she does what during this 8H year?? RERELEASES FEARLESS that was released WHEN?? In 2008 when she was what?? 19!!!!!!! In an 8H year! And people were confused why she re-recorded and released Red before speak now instead of going in order but I think it’s because it was about reliving her past wounds and Red was recorded when she was 23 in a 12H year of literally enemies, cheating, and pain which is similar to 8H vibes! I also saw people mention she wanted to name the album Enchanted because that’s her favorite song off there but the label didn’t let her lol and now they're speculating that she’s going to rerelease speak now soon and call it Enchanted like she wanted to! I believe it because it would line up since now at 33 she’s in a 10H year just like when she released speak now 👀👀

So Secret is finally over, let me just go cry in the corner real quick 😫😭🤧 but nevertheless, I really loved reading about these friends and couples 🥰 I’m going to miss this chaotic group 🥹 I still remember when I first read this and was left with the cliffhanger of MC and Chim having that fallout, I was so devastated but was so hopeful for it to only get better since you promised us a happy ending for them. So I read a lot of fic lol and one of the things I find so funny is that authors either write that Liv still can’t cook a thing and still gets takeout for everything or they’ll say she had to learn for Noah’s sake and now she’s actually a decent cook. (And as someone who now lives alone and had to grow up and figure some shit out and has actually gotten pretty good at cooking now if I do say so myself it really isn’t that hard so I’m usually team liv figured out how to use her kitchen for Noah’s sake)
Anyways I always have this head canon (that I’ve never wrote out but maybe I should) that when liv got Noah she got a phone call from Nick’s abuelita who was like “my Nicky tells me you have a baby and you cannot cook anything” 😂 and then Liv goes to her house and learns how to cook. And probably Barba’s mom and Mrs. Carisi teach her some things too cuz I want to believe they shared more time together than could be shown on screen.
Anyways I’m thinking about this mainly because there’s been some fics from Mrs. McCann’s POV and obvs she’s an excellent cook. And that’s not to say liv doesn’t get takeout often I’m sure she still does but I mean she’s also an adult with a child I’m sure she learned how to make some meals😂
You mention food a lot regarding svu and how it was nice in 1.0 when the characters sat down to meals together and how it made them very human which I totally agree with so I was wondering if u had any thoughts?

So the thing is like. 1.0 Liv doesn't ever cook, it's established there's no food in her fridge, she's always getting delivery. There's a scene early in s13-14 where she is actively trying to cook at home when Nick brings her bad news and she throws her half cooked dinner in the sink, as if she no longer has the strength to keep trying (or as if she no longer thinks she deserves it, but that's another post). By s15 she is throwing dinner parties, of the manic kind (@calliopecantaloupes being of course the expert on the trauma response dinner parties). When Noah is going thru his particularly unbearable phase we see Olivia actually making dinner for him and trying to get him to eat his vegetables.
So my theory is that Liv always knew how to cook in theory, but never spent the time on it in practice. When you're just cooking for one delivery is so fucking easy, and she's barely ever home, why bother? I live alone and I love to cook and I'm pretty good at it and I know a lot about it and I cook once a week on Sundays and heat up leftovers or order in every other night of the week. It's not lack of knowledge that held her back, it was lack of need. She just didn't have to.
Now we know Cassidy cooks, at least a little, and cooking with someone is a special kind of intimacy, and I like to think he taught her some recipes. But then he's gone. But then she has a baby.
And Olivia is devoted to being a Good Mom. She sings to Noah she's working with him on his speech she's buying him all the little toys and outfits and trying so fucking hard. I absolutely think Liv started to cook more - not learn to, bc she already knew how, but started to actually do it - bc she had a child and feeding her child is important emotionally and practically.
But she took the boy to get shake shack this season, she is not above a return to her old ways lol
But I love your thought bc I love the idea of all these older women who are tangentially connected to Liv - Nick's mom even looks after Noah! - taking her under their wing and I love the idea of Noah growing up in this rich and varied quasi family with influences from multiple cultures/traditions, not being any one thing but being deeply loved.
But I do think Elliot can't really cook (beyond one or two set meals like spaghetti or whatever) and if I see one more fic that treats cacio e pepe like it's a fancy complex dish that Elliot "learned" how to cook while he was in Italy I am going to start biting people

Alright, but if Y/N is indeed pregnant, could you let her keep the baby? I saw the “mentions of abortion” tw but like please, I want her to keep it. I don’t even care if she doesn’t get back with Satoru in the end. I don’t know but I’m always so soft for babies.
So, I see that some people have this very visceral reaction to Y/N in this chapter, and guess what? I want to defend her like those K-Pop stans. I don’t care about changing their feelings about her but I just want to let them KNOW.
Y/N has made a mistake, a single one, and it makes her no different from Rie, the other woman, but seriously, Y/N is still far more dignified than Rie can ever be. Both committed a mistake. And then what? Rie decided to continue to live in La La Land and created more fuckery while Y/N did everything she could to not do anything wrong again. Y/N immediately told the truth to Suguru and Shoko while Rie and Satoru knew the truth but kept it a secret to save face or whatever tf. After the cheating, Y/N was firm with Satoru about not getting back together with him while Rie went ahead and accepted Satoru’s advances despite feeling guilty.
I saw someone say Y/N is bad at decision-making. LIKE WHERE??? Unlike Rie, Y/N made all the right decisions for someone in her position. They are a foil to each other and the entire series shows how different they are as a person by showing what they decided to do after making a mistake. Like are you being serious with me now? But I don’t know, maybe you read this series with your eyes close or smth, and you simply refuse to see that. Rie and Y/N are the “same” in this situation but overall, as a person, they are not.
LOL, alright, sorry for going off like that, I’m Y/N's biggest fan as you can tell. She’s not me, she’s my precious baby 🥺.

I finally got to see pirate king which made me so happy bc I’ve been an atiny with my mom since debut so it meant a lot! favorite concept for them I believe is a mix between the apocalyptic stuff they’ve done like side effects and scars (and now social path) and I also love the chill and/or cozy vibes they’ve had in things like fnf, the view, blueprint and tmt and things like that. I like when they do mvs like that a lot
favorite album is hard—and you may know that already—for me but I think again GO LIVE is still my favorite album of theirs and also I’ll mention I Am Who?, ODDINARY, and 5 STAR now

2 perfectly awkward photos to compare from and even in the awkwardness you can tell which one she's more comfortable in😂
But anyways! Top photo is January 2022 and bottom photo is January 2023. Her lifestyle didn't change much from her previous home to mine. She's out 24/7 w/ a buddy and has access to hay at all times. Major differences, she has access to multiple kinds of quality hays 24/7 with me and we completely overhauled her diet otherwise. She was on SO much grain before, two different ones but both with a super high protein and low fat, also high in sugar & starch. She's on maybe a pound of grain(the lowest nsc on the market triple crown senior gold bc shes so picky and won't eat the VB blend otherwise lol also ps the regular senior made her fat but WILD) and then hay pellets and vermont blend! Also gets beet pulp at night and a flax oil because she refuses to eat ground flax smh lol. Her topline is obviously much different because she's back in work but i'd say even when she had lots of time off from me being gone/her having some issues it didn't really change much. I'd like to think diet plays a solid role in that when the fitness isn't there. The biggest difference just looking at her is her coat!!! It was rough to the touch when I got her and she had a lot of wirey hairs. Some flaky dry skin as well. I can't even believe thats the same horse! Pretty much same light and no filters. She was blanketed in her previous home and I do lightly blanket as well because she will literally take it out on her mini friend when she's chilly. I'd say grooming isn't much different, I pretty much only groom days I ride and mostly only use a very soft brush and a hard one on her legs. Nothing special at all! Its so rewarding seeing the transformation! I take so much pride in how my horses look and feel. I also have to laugh because all of Honey's team that helps her feeling her best always say she's fat. At first I get offended because I don't think so but then I laugh because i'd much rather they say my TB is fat then skinny!!! Next up is her hoof transformation. Still steady slow progress but shes come so far. I think a couple more cycles and we'll have never known how bad they were before.

Time for a recap of the last twelve months! It's basically my tradition at this point. This year was a weird one. I'm not even gonna get into real life issues. It sure was something and I'm going into 2023 with no energy and zero expectations, lol. But with this mindset, I can only be pleasantly surprised, right? Or...the world will show me that when you think it can't get any worse, it will.
Anyway, simblr stuff! This is the year I started drifting away from tumblr. It makes me sad, but really, it just isn't the same as it was when I joined. The interaction is not what I wish to get so I'm simply moving to places where I feel like I'm actually heard and seen. Idk. I've tried a few times to "be the change I wanna see" but it's hard to change stuff around here. But oh well, to each their own. I'll probably stick around, even if I hang out more somewhere else and what you see are mostly queued posts. And, well, if twitter burns down, which I wouldn't be surprised if it did, you know I'll fully come back here. I love this hellsite. Genuinely. It makes me mad but I love it.
But I still love you guys. TS3 discord and a few other people who are not in that discord, I do seriously love you.

I was still posting my previous BC! Well, I was finishing it. Vi became a parent and hadn't become a cheating jerk yet. 😅

*this* is Vi's cheating jerk era. I still feel bad about how I resolved the whole thing, it was too rushed. I guess I was focusing more on the gameplay part and the NSB rules and less on whether their actions are logical? Prince shouldn't have come back to him, that's the hill I'll die on :D I know, I know, NSB rules and all, but he shouldn't have.

We're slowly moving onto Bloom's very short generation, as well as gen 3 of my lepacy. It's Ginevra's time to shine, but first, we spent a lot of time with the winners of Axel and August's BC.

Bambi and Candy are born, as well as the BC babies. Loads of baby cuteness in April on this blog. Oh and Ross flourishes in his babysitter era. Well, he's always been a babysitter to his descendants, but I feel like this is where he 100 % accepts it 😂

Gins' era truly starts now (why do I keep saying era in this recap lmao). I had a lot of fun playing in Twinbrook again and Ginevra and Lori were so great. <3

Alongside my lepacy (hi Elias & other gen 4 babies), I started posting the pink gen of NSB and also, my 100 Baby Challenge! I still can't believe I actually did that, and that I completed it in like two months only. Wow. What. I mean, yeah, I hyperfocused on it, but still. How did I do that.

Again, gen 3 of lepacy and gen 7 of NSB, not much to say here. As for playing, I mostly just played the baby challenge. Oh! And Maeve's BC, of course.
Ohh, and July was the month when I decided to dive into the wonderful sims community on twitter. Probably one of my best decisions this year as I made many great friends there...🥰🥰

Gen 3 ends and Sawyer is ready to take over Bridgeport but he has to wait for a bit. Pastel enters the blog and her bonding with Ross is seriously one of my most favourite things. I didn't think of this at first when I was playing, it only came to me later when I was posting the generation, but he definitely grew fond of her because she reminds him of Sunset so much ;-;

Good news: Bambi and Atsuko get married. Bad news: Ross and Caleb break up. *sigh* There's so much to unpack with their breakup storyline. Yes it makes sense that they'd hit a few bumps on the road, yes it makes sense that some of them would be bad, but...deep down, the breakup only happened because of my insecurities and lowkey being afraid of using a townie in my stories. At least I kinda got over that this fall (thank you twitter moots).
More good news: I'm finally posting the BC!!

I finished posting the 100BC and...yeah this was Maeve's month. October was also very vampiric, but I'll probably mention that in a separate recap (if I do a separate recap haha), as this one only focuses on my regular daily content (legacies and such)

In November, we saw the funniest twist to ever happen in my BCs. Sorry River :D Aaand we also have the winner of Maeve's BC! I can't wait for you all to see them again in the legacy. Next year, hopefully.

Sawyer's time to shine has come. Well, not really, his siblings are constantly stealing it. Don't be surprised if he one day, you know, steals their organs and sells them.
Oh, and it's also TS3!Ross's time to shine. Because of course it is. I knew I needed to use his TS3 self somewhere, and all things considered, this felt like a perfect time for that.
December was also the month I started posting videos on youtube. I'm sorry if I'm annoying about that, but I just enjoy it so much. Never thought I'd say that. So, if you haven't yet, feel free to check it out (and subscribe maybe? 🥺). I'm hoping to do some fun stuff next year.
What's in store for 2023? I'll probably talk about that later, but to put it simply, I think this blog will be stuck with NSB and lepacy.
