I don’t think you understand how diabolically down bad I am for Julius.
I’m making him my famous cookies and be all “Juli~ I made cookies~”
But in all seriousness one of my fav tropes of all types is a cruel ruler but is the sweetest to his darling. Love to see it!
Julius will absolutely accept your cookies, in fact, he will want you to hand feed it to him yourself. Any kind of affection, whether it’s acts of service or physical makes him a very happy king—and if you can keep him happy, then maybe there will be less deaths that day. He will not make promises though, he can’t keep them…
“That idiot was practically eye fucking you right before me. Of course, I had to put his head up on a spike to set an example. You. Are. Mine.”

baby silver finally goes to sleep and shadow thinks he’s done with being thrown around/having stuff thrown at him for the day until he looks at his hands and realizes they’re still glowing cyan cause silver can still use his powers when he’s asleep
he gets thrown out a window again :(

You know what an underrated animal-coded ship dynamic? Black cat x orange cat dynamic. It still has the opposite attract from the black cat x golden retriever but with the intentional no-braincell fuckery from the orange cat instead of cheer and happiness from the golden retriever. Like yeah the black cat would be silent in one corner melting to the shadow and the orange cat is hurling itself at a wobbly shelf with a) no plan, b) no foresight, and c) the meaning to fuck something up however it's done in the end. It's peak dynamic. To me at least

people are so quick to laugh at other people for taking extremely loaded and upsetting representation in media ~too seriously~, but also conflate the words of some of the most powerless marginalized people with censorship by the FUCKING US GOVERNMENT. it’s so disingenuous it’s so silencing it’s so fucking shitty
it also very much feels like the cultural moment we’re in right now, where bringing up issues rooted in deep irl power structures is automatically written off as oversensitive and reactionary. it’s just media, until it’s an example from real life—then it’s just not that serious, or it’s childish to draw those connections, or it’s censorship to bring it up in the first place. allusions to irl violence are chump change but irl violence is always an isolated incident. and no one cares that this attitude magically seems to exclusively benefit the extremely conservative worldview that holds power
like lmfao no i don’t think it’s your right or anyone’s right to cover your eyes to obviously shitty offensive media writing laden with cultural baggage…. so that you can ~just enjoy it~! does this say nothing about you when you jump to silence the critiques of folks who noticed the harmful shit that went over your head? hot take… media is actually made and consumed by human beings who live in a society

Unpopular opinion, I guess, since I hear people complain about it all the time, but I love the miscommunication trope. I don't know why people claim it's unrealistic when I see everyone misunderstanding each other on a daily basis. Miscommunication doesn't mean not talking to each other (because I keep hearing "just talk to each other" when this trope is mentioned). It means the characters talk, but not clearly enough and you know what? That is real. People misunderstand me all the time and I am no stranger to misunderstanding other people.
