so interesting how mitski called her album ‘the land is inhospitable’ when all throughout it, however alone she feels, the land is there and present. there’s the mosquitos, there’s a bug at the bottom of her glass, there’s the snow, the frost, a bird, the moon, the darkness as a living, breathing thing. and more importantly, every one of these elements is a manifestation of her feelings; the loss she feels, the love she feels. like a love that’s haunting the land. and then we get to the second part of the album name, ‘and so are we,’ we understand that it’s bc she is also being haunted by love. it’s the only thing she has, ´my love mine all mine’. except it’s everywhere. the land is inhospitable because it’s being haunted by this love, meaning she belongs, meaning in the end she can say she’s ‘king of all the land’ bc it’s her love that reigns, meaning no matter how ‘inhospitable’ it is and how much it hurts, she could never let it go

Watcher/listener/entity Jim but he keeps sneaking out to make sure that in fact his admin (fWhip) is ok and isn't overworking himself.
fWhip IS actually overworking himself, making sure that everything in the server runs smoothly barely having sometimes time for rest between his building and administrating the code. So Jimmy has to force fWhip sometimes to rest, and he makes sure to look over the code himself as fwhip sleeps with his head placed on jimmy thighs.

#Finn's ocs#Finn's art#oc references#i wrote the descs while w the kids so hopefully they make sense. my attention was split#but anyway here in the tags I'll talk about the designs in relation to their kids lol#polaris is emulating thuban moreso than anyone else. her color scheme and outfit motifs are the same as his- they ARE his#her original outfit is clothes she took and diy'd into her own so she could go off into the world and well presumably look for him at first#the truth is she always wanted to see the world that's why she loved maps. in a way this was an excuse. in another way she was just lonely#but doesn't understand loneliness. also the fact that she's not his daughter by blood is part of that#bc of her actual parents (not as relevant character-wise) she sees all relationships as temporary and she has issues connecting#ananke i wanted to mostly look intimidating in a way that Bella really isn't#Bella puts on skull hairties and fishnets and stuff but she's very much. a cute softie trying to look edgy. she has pink twintails#she's so different from her mom in pretty much every way but she still did have that ideal of strength drilled into her#still her take on it is softer. she's the team leader now but she's really pretty lenient aside from the important No Killing rule ofc#w Rhea and Arche i had a bit of a flower theme. pussywillow (lol) means motherhood and buttercups mean childishness#so. mother and child#but rhea is interesting bc she's raising a whole different kid now that she's in a different place in life#if you do the math she had Saiph young. and it was alright for a while until his dad (again not as important) died#so she didn't have support or money. but she had a connection to the guild because his dad's old sword teacher is a member (hmm)#but she was too scared/ashamed to visit. she just left him his dad's old knife because that's all she had (THE KNIFE IS IMPORTANT)#arche is her kid with her second husband and her new beginning. this will cause some inner problems for Saiph when he meets them...#Poerava was kinda designed to have rich lady vibes because remember Al's family is practically nobility#but more importantly she's designed to look like a mom. with the low ponytail and tired eyes#the black pearl of her namesake as the centerpiece of her outfit too#again she's got the healthiest relationship with her kid here by a longshot#but i mean don't worry Al still got the daddy issues so he's not getting away unscathed#I already drew Taurus with the zodiac knights though so i didn't feel the need to reintroduce him#anyway Mira really has 0 connection to any family at all she was found as an orphaned baby after a monster attack#obviously she had parents but beyond town of origin it's unknown who so she has no connections to any sort of past parental figure#the guild is her one and only family and that's how she wants it. she wants to be with them forever the past doesn't matter

yes of course i will! @revalito and i are genuinely so elated that so many people like the au HEHJKSDHJKS i will always want to talk about it trust
i don't know if there was something specific you wanted me to talk about, so i'll just talk about their time in the cloud recesses when they were younger =]
as i said before in my tags, wwx found lwj sitting outside the gentian cottage waiting for his mom and that's how they first met--he brought him a blanket and something warm to drink and offered to sit next to him. after that wwx would find lwj every now and then and hang around a bit but not for long. that does.. imply that his parents died sooner but well. HEJDSJKSD we figured one of the servants was his dad's close friend that agreed to babysit wwx for a while before they died, so now at least wwx has someone that was considered family (and that can tell him about his parents)
wwx didn't actually start working as a servant until he got older and that's when he was really allowed to interact with lwj. silly little comments turned into prompts to speak more and eventually, they'd have "conversations" (lwj would listen, wwx would talk) as wwx did what he had to. one day lwj asked wwx if he would be allowed to be a personal assistant on a quick task he had to do outside of the cloud recesses, and of course that's allowed. and that's the loophole they found to spend more time together =]
lxc knows about lwj's crush. he could read it on him easily HEJKSDJK i'd like to think one time wwx was called in to serve something to them, and as he did he made some comment to lwj. lwj acknowledged him with a small uptick of his lips and lxc was just ⁉️⁉️⁉️ HEHKJDHJKDHDJK he starts making excuses for wwx to go see lwj. the first time he asks a servant to call for wwx bc he needed something delivered to his brother it started a rumor within the servants immediately. this is where the teasing among them began HEHJKSDJKSDK lxc is the main reason why eventually wwx is the main servant/one of the only servants for lwj
wwx starts learning about cultivation in his free time--and we'd like to think the gusulan sect would set aside a teacher for willing servants on their breaks--but he never attends any actual classes. it isn't until they accept guest disciples when they're around 15/16 that he even entertains the idea. he probably makes a side comment to lwj, like "ah, guest disciples… it would have been nice to attend a class or two.." and lwj is immediately like i'm on it. he talks to lqr to attend the classes and ofc here lan qiren doesn't Need lwj to be a good example to wwx like he does in the novel, but we think lqr would still want to show him off HEHJKSJKSD also, lxc is probably like "it would be nice if wangji had more friends =] perhaps if we have wwx in there (someone he is already comfortable with) he would be more willing?" and that seals the deal HEJKSDHJKSD wwx is invited to his classes to be a "personal servant" to keep up appearances, but he is there to learn.
of course some other people there aren't to keen on the idea of having a servant in the class with them, so this time when lqr calls on wwx, it's not to test him, it's to prove his worth. he knows wwx and lwj are friends so in his head, his justification is that disciples are offending wwx -> they're offending lwj -> lwj is his nephew -> they are offending lqr too. ofc. HEHJKDSJKSDK lwj defends wwx in his own ways.
nie huaisang is the first to go up to wwx to chat and they become good friends, and since wwx is friends with lwj, nhs becomes friends with him too. it's a funny dynamic but lwj inwardly thinks it's nice.

it sure has been quite a week

ok if there are any artists out there who do comms can u like help me understand why there are no refunds for upfront payments even if you have not started the work at all ????
#like i am. very much struggling to understand why if someone has paid u and then#before u have even started the work#if they cancel#u cannot return the money to them ???????#i do not understand and i do not think i will ever understand. not that its happened to me but im very curious why tf thats a common rule#what is the purpose of keeping money for something u have not even done and is perfectly cancel-able#like its one thing when u have already started and are mid project ofc. then i def understand that u have spent time and effort and u shoul#be compensated for that. but if ur rules are 'no refunds whatsoever after payment' like im struggling to understand why if someone pays you#and a day later. like before u have even started the comm. why cant they cancel and have their money back if they decide to ??#perhaps if u do slots and they took up a slot so now u have to go thru the trouble of reopening that one slot and getting another customer#i would understand like a fee for cancellation and then returning the money after keeping a fraction#but#just no refunds whatsoever after payment ??? for a comm that hasnt even been started ??????#idk maybe im just not understanding something from the artists perspective or something here and if so someone help me understand#but i literally cannot wrap my head around it and until someone can offer me a valid reason why this rule is set in place i rly honestly#think its a bit insensitive to other peoples money and possible situations that may arise that might make them cancel a comm due to like#an emergency

#just befriended a kid at the buffet who was looking for cheese wontons (mood)#but this place has none so i got to introduce them to the delight of the humble crab ragoon#then they swing by the fruit bar and recommended a kind of orange thing(?) which was delish!#then bump into one another in the ice cream section and start cracking jokes about it#they just left with their adult with a dramatic salute and bow my way so ofc i had to return the favor#their adult is laughing and waves#my afternoon is made ♡#shut up ace

So far Witcher 2 thoughts - combat is a good happy medium between 1 and 2 and it's not too terribly difficult to get used to. Enjoying how it was advertised that you can climb and then um. Assumed that meant you could jump. You cannot. Hating a lot of the character decisions so far like ummm. It doesn't seem like it fits super well w both my decisions from 1 (as i loaded my save from 1) and how geralt is in the books. HATING the UI. And that you can't just like look the controls up super easy like u could in 1 and also 3.

#i have a florist van as well#cause you have three things you can decorate in pocket camp#your campsite your cabin and your camper van#and the camper goes with you when your little character gets placed in other players worlds#and i decorated the first floor of my cabin to have a little treat serving area and then a flower bouquet ordering counter#and then the upper floor to have a bedroom and tons of crafting supplies and flowers scattered everywhere#like I'm making the bouquets in the upper section and then taking them downstairs to the cooler to be displayed and sold#i don't really Actually have flowers to sell especially because you can't actually sell flowers in the market box but that's fine#i like making little environmental storytelling things#and my campsite has even more flowers#an azalea hedge instead of fences and sakura trees and blossoms everywhere#and a little food selling area with like. a dango stand a bakery stand and a sakura themed counter#and a little table with food set out#and sitting areas like benches scattered all across the campsite (we need good public seating ofc)#and then the cabin has like. a bunch of games and instruments on the first floor like an activity area#and then as many food related things as i could fit on the second floor like a massive cafeteria that I'd let anyone in to eat#and then the top floor is my Proper Bedroom when I'm not zooming around in my florist van#with a bunch of cozy comfy things everywhere and also books and gems and shiny things#now all i need is actually nice looking wallpapers and floor patterns. sigh. i must wait another century#(seriously WHY are the wallpapers so damn expensive PLEASE make the reissues cheaper please 🥺)

Bee and puppycat lazy in space I love you so so much it's not even funny
#ramblings of a lunatic#decided to rewatch it again bc the toh finale has had me in a tizzy and while I'm getting better#it's definitely been hard just floating about in fandom space knowing that the show is ending and that in the scenario we do get more of it#in another form ofc#it won't be for a long time yknow?#it's saddening and back in September when i was uh. Very Sad bapc was really there for me#i was out here ardently defending the netflix series' writing bc i genuinely thought it was really good#and i still do#but more than that this show is intensely comforting in a way i can't really place/describe#it's a magical girl show. it's a workplace comedy. 99% of the cast is 25 years or older. its a coming of age story.#it's has pastel and lo-fi art direction. it's cosmic horror. the main character is so caring and yet so selfish and also autistic#and a robot#all of her romantic relationships are intensely weird and frankly are her least interesting dynamics#her most interesting dynamics are with her roomate/pet who's actually a space pirate cursed to look like a marketable plushy#and with her 8 year old landlord who's mom was childhood best friends with her dad making them family in a sense#except they're not really. also they're foils (she's an immature adult he's a kid who tries to be more responsible than he is)#it's filled with intense melancholy and multiple characters suffer from un-talked about depression#it is one of the cutest and brightest shows i have ever seen (in a non-obnoxious or technicolor way) and has an intense air of whimsy#it kinda has a fandom but not a big one despite having an undeniable impact in online animation culture and a bit on online culture overall#I'm not captivated by it in a fandom-y sense but i am obsessed with it. it's like wuthering heights to me#i love this show

#it is frustrating that overall it is fine for customers to use retail/service employees like punching bags. this guy will have no#repercussions for cussing me out beyond the pre-existing frustration that his order isn't ready because it was placed after our deadline#it is frustrating that you can't really defend yourself because 1) it takes too much time and there's too much else to do.#better to let them have the upper hand in their minds 2) they can take anything you saw and spin it against you in a review#like... 😞 i couldn't even get a word in against this guy. honestly i think he was using me as a stress toy because his kid is getting in#trouble for not having uniforms. which really sucks‚ I understand and empathize with that! but to react in such a way is unacceptable#it's common sense that a mom and pop shop will not process your order until the next business day if you ordered outside of their business#hours. i had to explain the way this particular school's ordering system worked to this guy the last time he was in. i provided multiple#alternatives to contacting us that he never utilized. like.. he had the tools to understand everything and instead of using them he decided#to erupt. and because I'm the poor fuck that works the counter‚ i got to be on the receiving end of this. i should know better than to be#upset about it (the eelness talking. everyone else was mad when he left) but. it's also fair to not want to be cussed out over something as#small as school uniforms! 🤨#and don't even get me started on school uniforms.. yes my entire job rn is selling them BUT oh my god. i hate them. they shouldn't be a#thing. especially when these schools cost an arm and a leg in admission + then the uniforms easily cost another#*$100. the entire practice seems evil to me but also it's the family business so. 😭. the way these schools do it also undermines the entire#point of school uniforms which is. uniformity! 🤨 i feel like the minute differences in brand and so forth and so on give kids easy ways to#compare each other and potentially bully each other. the differences in what people provide Could be distracting! if your kid is the only#one wearing a plaid jumper while everyone else has khaki bottoms on‚ they're going to stand out!#so what pray tell is the point 😭 imo it's best to let kids have the freedom of self expression and show up to school however they'd like#in an appropriate way ofc. but i digress 😩 this business is just. deeply frustrating + as if the work itself was not overwhelming‚ the#parents have to throw tantrums about it... I'm so tired! 😭#and they insinuate you fuck around + or say you don't give a shit.. ma'am I've worked so much overtime this year + that's not even counting#the relentless shifts I've worked in my nightmares that occur every night. like.. literally the only thing i do is give a shit about your#order!! at the expense of my sleep and wellness lmao!
