if i see one more person defend jk rowling i’m going to scream.
yes, she wrote the harry potter series. yes, it was a huge part of our childhoods. yes, it was a part of shaping us into the people we are today.
it does not, however, excuse her transphobia.
just because you’ve done something good in the past does not excuse your shitty actions in the present.
she defends her transphobia by saying that she knows a transgender person. she defends her transphobia by saying she is protecting lesbians.
we are not your scapegoats. you do not get to use us to defend your fucked up views. we do not stand with you.
to the people who are saying things like “well i guess i can say that i’m a woman and walk into the woman’s bathrooms”. don’t you fucking dare invalidate the struggles that transgender people go through.
you will never understand what they’ve been through. i, a cis woman, will never understand what they’ve been through.
i, however, stand with trans people. i may never know their struggles, but i will not invalidate them. i refuse to stand by whilst trans people are attacked for being themselves. i refuse to stand by whilst this abuse continues.
don’t call yourself a feminist if you do not support trans women. trans women are women. you support all women or you support none at all.
to jk, i respected you growing up. i admired your work. i fell in love with the universe you created.
you wrote a series about people being oppressed and killed for being a certain thing, something that they can not control.
now you are fuelling the fire that is transphobia. you are adding to the hate of a group of people who are oppressed and killed for who they are.
i no longer respect you.
trans women are women. trans men are men. transphobes are assholes.

okay but neville longbottom as head of gryffindor house and there’s all these stories of him going head to head with an army of werewolves, being tortured by death eaters and killing Voldemort’s snake with godric gryffindor’s actual sword but when the students see him he’s like cradling a pot plant and crying cause he saw someone lost their pet on the noticeboard and they’re like “that guy? are you sure it’s that guy”
BONUS: one of the older student’s get dared to go up and ask him if it’s true and neville just makes direct eye-contact and says “voldemort was a punk bitch” and continues knitting a lil baby sweater for a mandrake
