Day 9/40 of productivity

These few days have been characterised by exercises all the way!

Among these, those that I spent in the library have been the best days so far. I don’t like weekends much because campus is closed and it feels boring to stay at home.

Highlights:

I’ve met some people during study breaks

I tried out the university canteen

I’m really motivated to achieve my goals💪🏽

ps. at one point, I couldn’t find the pizza box anymore; it had ended up under my books… 🤦🏽‍♀️

Day 4/40 of productivity

In less than a week I’ve got the electromagnetism exam coming up.

I still need to start doing exercises because I want to grasp the theory thoroughly first. However, sometimes it takes me a whole day to understand a topic… like today when I’ve spent the entire morning studying magnetic fields in cavities and I’m still not satisfied!

Today was a bit meh.

I spent the morning doing something else, and after lunch, I decided to head to the university to study. Well, it took me an hour to find a study room/library that wasn’t crowded! Eventually, I found a spot in the cold, but after an hour, I gave up and studied at home. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Day 2/40 of productivity

Today I was hoping to get up early, but last night I stayed up late reading, so my day started in a rush.

This morning I dusted, did laundry, cooked, etc 🥵

After lunch I watched some recorded lectures and tried to study a lot, but my mind was sometimes elsewhere…

Anyway, I can’t figure out if I’m an early bird or a night owl… I love the morning and the energy it gives me, but I realise my brain lights up in the evening when I don’t feel like going to bed because I have so many ideas in my head, and working illuminated only by my little yellow lamp relaxes me too much.

I’ve put in a lot of work, and now it’s crucial not to forget the motivations and the good intentions we have when we start.

I have a month and a half of dedication and studying ahead, and afterward, I can feel satisfied.

Heyyyy ✨✨✨✨

This is a very simple way to calculate the value of pi. It's based on the ratio between the area of a unit circle and the area of the square that encloses it; this is equal to pi/4, so it's easy to derive the value of pi.

Translated into code, all you need to do is generate enough random numbers and count how many "fall" inside the circle: the ratio of these to the total number of points generated will tend towards pi/4 as more points are generated!

In the figure on the left, you can see graphically what I mentioned above, while on the right, you can see how close you can get to the true value of pi with a few simulations in which I generated a few thousand random numbers each time. However, despite the proximity to the true value, the value I managed to calculate was accurate only up to the second decimal place… This method remains a rather naive one!

I challenge you to try to recreate it; it's very simple! I did it in Python, but you can use any programming language ;)
