Naming Conventions
🌷;; Borrower names are often borrowed from nouns or adjectives, or borrowed from animals/human names.
🍀;; The following shows the most common borrower names. Some names have strong female or male associations, but most of them are unisex. Most borrowers' names are strictly dictionary, literal nouns and rarely have deeper forms.
❄️;; After seasons: Spring, Winter, Summer or Autumn/Fall. Often because they were born in that season or because it holds a special meaning for the parents. Example: The parents met in Summer, the kid was born in Winter, or they found a home in Spring.
🌺;; After flowers: Rose, Lily, Ivy, Violet, Magnolia, Lilac, Rosemary, Bluebell, Wisteria, Tulip, Margaret, Buttercup, Peony, Orchid, Camellia, Lavender, Petal.
🌳;; After herbs, trees and other plants: Basil, Dandelion, Laurel, Cedar, Leaf, Willow, Aspen, Clover, Cypress, Ginger, Olive, Mint, Herb, Sage, Moss, Pine, Oak, Branch.
🌎;; After noble occupations that their family used to have or that they find brave and charming: Archer, Hunter, Ranger, Author, Gather, Dancer, Rider, Fisher, Rogue, Striker, Chaser, Poet, Explorer
🍎;; From fruits, spices or food: Apple, Honey, Apricot, Cherry, Cinnamon, Plum, Peach, Tangerine, Lemon, Almond, Sesame, Rue, Strawberry, Saffron, Pepper, Maple, Berry, Clove, Tea, Thyme, Fennel, Coriander
🛠️;; From household items or tools: Penny, Denim, Clay, Quill, Blade, Treasure, Dagger, Cotton, Jewel, Velvet, Calico, Anchor, Feather, Dice, Coal, Shell, Guitar, Bell
🐿️;; From animals or bugs: Robin, Raven, Hummingbird, Byrd, Fox, Bee, Fawn, Lark, Cricket, Newt, Crow, Teal, Buck, Sparrow, Doe, Dove, Crane, Swan, Canary, Wren.
🌙;; From natural phenomena: Rain, Storm, Sky, Snow, Cloud, Sun, Moon, Star
⭐;; From human names/pet names: for example, being named after a cool name your parent saw in a magazine, or once when they saw what the human called the housecat.
Changing your name in borrower culture:
• Contrary to popular belief, often borrower names given by parents don't actually have a deep value, like with humans. They're often more than welcomed to change it however they wish, this is known as "to borrow a name".
• Some borrowers will change their name just because they found a nicer one, or they want to transition to one that fits more their current identity or their age. Some nicknames may transform into a borrowers' name, this is surprisingly common. This tradition is popular, especially reaching adulthood or even late teens, and some communities heavily encourage the borrowing of a name to signal a borrower is ready to get involved within the community. A borrower may have borrowed lots of names through their lives.
• Some people give their kids ‘baby names’. This is the case of names like ‘Peanut’, 'Raindrop', "Button" or ‘Seed’ and they are expected to be changed later on when the borrower finds their own identity. The new name shall be called the "Chosen name/true name", and it is considered demeaning/patronizing/sometimes mocking to insist on using the baby name of someone to address them (if you happen to know it); this happens a lot with parents and their young. Baby names lose their value the second they change it, so it's not really necessary to let others know what it was unless you want to explain the term to a human and get teased for one month.
🪲;; Some spelling has changed over time, transforming “Bird” into “Byrd”, for example. There is also a tendency of choosing shorter names, making "Leaf" or "Petal" one of the most common ones.
🪲;; Giving nicknames based on their skills, personality or appearance is very common. This tradition has developed from survival purposes but now it is considered cultural, a form of showing love and is especially seen from older borrowers to the young.
🪲;; Borrowers don't have middle names.
About last names: This depends on the family, some of them consider them superficial and have no last names. Some borrowers do HAVE last names, especially the ones living in communities. As with names, last names don't usually hold a deeper value and have very literal meanings. Most of them reflect the particular part of the landhouse their hideout is close by, whether it's the Clock, the Cabinet, the Shower, etc. Their last names may or may not be subject to change in case they move out, some could be slightly attached to them so they choose to keep it.
Generally speaking, when a borrower "marries" another and they move out, they'll get a new last name based on the location they're building their hideout on, which their children will inherit until they move out. This would make most Borrower's last names transitory.

G/T Fluffy Domestic Story Idea
Okay I highkey wanna write this but idfk when, so if anyone else wants to give it a shot (or already has) lmk so I can read it big plz and thank ;-;
G/t story where friendly giant builds whole house to be Tiny accessible while the tiny sits nearby swinging their legs and watches and chats them up, maybe helping where they can or giving pointers over things they struggle with and would need help for:
Walkways up to counters/higher surfaces
pulley systems?
little ladders and staircases everywhere
hehe some slides for the way down
Ways for tiny to turn on sinks for water/showers
giant makes it so all drains have grate bottoms so there's no risk of tiny falling through
maybe a shoelace attached to faucet so tiny can climb out
Safely carrying tiny
if on shoulder, could be interesting if giant has an earing that tiny can attach a harness to so they can't fall (or maybe tiny just holds onto earing like one of those handles for tall people in trains)
giant makes comfy chest pockets in all the shirts they wear at home
Private nook for tiny's bedroom/nest
with a somehow working toilet XD
a cute little wardrobe filled with clothes either the giant or tiny (or both) made
soft bed, maybe out of a commandeered pillow or some of the giant's old clothes
tiny-sized mirror made from smoothed out shard of a larger one
Little sitting areas all over the house
in front of/on windowsills that get direct sunlight
a mini dining table on top of giant's dining table
Mini greenhouse
for fresh fruits/plants/veggies for tiny to pick/care for themselves
flower garden full of those little flower types <3
maybe a mini water fountain
Food storage spot for tiny that's constantly restocked
teeny containers to keep crumbs and the like fresh
something to keep fresh produce cool??
Appliances
tiny cups/plates/utensils (bought or made by giant?)
whittled down graphite for pencils
maybe a teeny inkwell to dip a pin in for a quill/pen
sheafs of paper meticulously cut into the perfect size for tiny
maybe an old iPhone is bought as a TV for the tiny XD
Ways to make sure tiny stays safe while living with a giant
Giant doesn't wear headphones at home and keeps music low
Tiny is properly accounted for before any cleaning gets done (especially vacuuming HA)
Little bells all over the house so tiny can call for help if they need it
Helium balloons periodically exchanged for fresh ones that tiny can tie around their waist when crossing over the floor so they're easy to spot ;3
----
imma prolly keep adding to this as thoughts come to me, but ye this was stuck in my brain like friggin' glue so I had to spill it out, no two ways about it

I love the idea of a middle-aged borrower who had his family killed by humans getting found by a teenage boy with some kind of absent parents like omg
The idea of a human teen getting attached to an adult borrower they found and seeing them as a sorta parental figure dispite the size difference and even the borrower trying to get over their instinctual fear of humans and their hatred towards humans for killing their family and start to feel kinda protective and acting as a sort of authoritative figure towards the teen is literally so cute ♡

Using this for every character to ever exist fr
Okay, imagine this
a world where giants and tinies existed but since the government didn't want to have to pay to make buildings and cities for tinies. They just decides to put them into things called 'tiny shelters' every giant that turns 6 (or whatever age works for your story spefically) are forced to have one.
This is a trope I made up. I love this trope because it means that the characters know what tinies and giants are and the giant doesn't nessacary have to actually WANT a tiny but they're still forced to have one.
Also, I prefer them to get one at a young age so that they have their whole life to bond together because I find it super wholesome to have like two teenager who act like childhood bets friends dispite their size difference since for most people it would just be second nature to remember all the unspoken rules that come with being around a tiny every hour of every day.
On a darker note, in this world I feel like it would be normal for a giant to say that their tiny died especially getting them at such a young age means a higher risk for alot of accidents involving tinies.

AHH this is so cute ♡
hazbin shit lol bc hyperfixation goes brrrr. Y’all get a few paragraphs bc I haven’t written in ages. This is still a wip lol. There will be vore in this, eventually
___
“Ya know, you’re kinda cute like this, Husky~.” Angel purrs as he pokes the miniature Husk.
“Watch it, Legs or—“
“Or what? You’ll bite me? Scratch me?” Angel cocked his head, cackling a bit. “I’d like to see you try, Kitty.”
Husk rolled his eyes as he pushed the giant finger away. All morning, Angel’s been poking fun at his new stature. Well, after he got over the initial shock of the bartender being reduced to the size of a thimble.
Honestly though, he had to look up at Angel anyway, was perceiving the spider demon as a giant really that much different?
Nope. He couldn’t even try rationalizing that. Angel Dust was gigantic, to put it in layman’s terms. Gargantuan, titanic, whatever. He was massive. Thankfully, through means Husk didn’t want to pry into, his hands were strangely gentle and experienced with carrying him. If their roles were reversed, Husk would feel bouldering and awkward, trying to look after such a fragile thing.
It was kinda nice though. Despite Angel’s usual antics, he was surprisingly attentive to Husk’s needs. However, as with all good things in Husk’s life, their banter was cut short by the ringing of Angel’s phone.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out who was on the other end and with Angel tensing up as he fished for his phone in his chest fluff, it could only be —
“Heya Val,” Angel started, and Husk glowered. The hell did that slimy moth want? It was supposed to be Angel’s day off.

In terms of OMORI g/t why does NOBODY talk about how much of an amazing giant Hero would make like he is the ULTIMATE gentle giant, he's definitely self aware enough to avoid hurting or scaring tinies, he's apologetic, he would definitely ask before picking up a tiny or really before making any big or fast movements around them at all like he's literally great. WHY DONT MORE PEOPLE WRITW ABOUT HIM LIKE C'MON!

AHHHH I LOVE THIS ♡♡♡♡
Danganronpa gt au where Naegi had been a borrower living in hopes peak when the tragedy began and the 78th class got locked in.
The other students and even the mastermind don’t know he’s there but he still tries to find ways to help. During investigations he’ll move hidden evidence into more convenient locations and it’s only when Kyoko starts to notice evidence popping up randomly that she suspects something else might be going on >:)
Being the detective that she is she starts to hide near the crime scenes to try to catch which of her classmates was messing with evidence, but nothing could have prepared her to find out it was a borrower the whole time. She doesn’t want to scare him off because she deduces he’s trying to help, so she starts leaving things for him in more convenient places. After everyone’s done eating for the morning she’ll stay behind to leave pieces of her left over food out near air vents because that’s where she saw the tiny escape to. She also always has her eye out for glimpses of the tiny boy hiding around the school. She spots him a couple times but never says anything in fear of him running away.
As the killing game progresses and it becomes more clear there’s a mastermind behind everything she decides she needs to ask for his help more directly since he can be places without being seen. One day along with the food near the air vents she leaves out a sticky note message telling him she will keep his secret safe if he will help her figure out who’s behind this. Unfortunately she doesn’t get a response but the food goes missing anyways.
It’s only when Celeste is killed that she truly meets the borrower. Instead of Celeste giving Kyoko the key Makoto brings it to her through the ducts in her room. She pretends to be asleep so he can leave if he wants but he stays on her desk until she can’t ignore him anymore. Very cautiously she goes to talk to him and while he seems nervous he gives her the key, explaining that Celeste had dropped it before her execution. It’s a brief conversation and she can tell that the borrower is still terrified of her, but she’s happy that she has him on her side now against the mastermind. Every night from then on he would drop into her room to discuss anything he’d discovered and she quickly became attached to the tiny regardless of her intentions to stay disconnected from everyone.
It all goes smoothly with him helping her investigation into the killing game until a week passes with no killings after Sakura’s death.
Monokuma brings them out for a new motive and tells them about the presence of Makoto, saying he does count as a student after all since he’s also trapped with them. Kyoko tries to act indifferent, but shes shocked, having no idea how the mastermind found out about him. Although in her head she blames herself since he’s been out in the open way more since they started talking.
From then on she has two things to worry about: the mastermind’s game and making sure the tiny stays safe. They come to an agreement for him to stay with Kyoko during the day since having him with her keeps him out of sight. And no one would suspect the cold and quiet Kyoko to be protecting the secret student after all :)

Reblog if you genuinely support asexuals
It terrifies me that there’s so much raging passion in the lgbt+ community that insist on marginalizing asexuals and implying that asexuals don’t deserve to have safe spaces. There’s still so much acephobia so I just wanna know which blogs are genuinely supportive and a safe space for asexuals

Okay, so my asks are open for once.
Anyway, I'm incredibly bored so ask me questions about my OCs, literally anything. I'll take any questions, questions about my borrower OCs, human OCs, tiny OCs, even non-size related OCs.
I've not posted a single thing about my personal OCs, on literally any platform ever so this could be a nice little chance to show off some things I guess.

You know how Luke has nightmares about being giant and accidentally hurting people, has Matt every had a nightmare about accidentally hurting Luke while he was tiny?
My Dear Anon
Yes, he has. Though he would never admit it to Luke, shortly after the events of HOME, Luke invites Matt over for a sleepover and Matt feels paranoid as he goes off to sleep, he then dreams of waking to find Luke small.
Approx 1.3k words. just an itty bitty short story. Enjoy!
“Dude what happened, why are you small right now? Are you okay?” Matt kneels in front of his friend; it had been a few weeks since he’d last seen him this size and that interaction hadn’t been perfect, but he maintained that he had kept his friend safe. Something in Luke’s little blue eyes however made him feel like Luke was looking through him, like he was a stranger in his eyes.
“Luke? It’s me Matt, you're okay.” Matt lowered himself further to the ground, feeling a sense of dread wash through him as he noted Luke take a few slow steps backwards and away from him.
It reminded him of the feeling left in his heart after he’d initially gone to grab at Luke without warning a few weeks ago outside of their math teachers office. Luke’s eyes had gone wide, and he’d run from him then until he was out of reach under the door. Matt had felt horrible for scaring his friend like that. He’d known Luke was shrinking and promised to be supportive of his friend however his first reaction was to grab him.
“Don’t touch me!” Luke suddenly shouted up at him, Matt flinched as though Luke had just slapped him hard across the face. Why was he acting like this?
“I swear I won’t touch you dude, just chill.” Matt tried again to calm his friend, he noted Luke’s impossibly small chest rising and falling at a worryingly fast pace, this wasn’t working. It made him wonder if this is how Luke felt when he was a giant, just monstrously too big.
A scream pierced the air and Matt watched in horror as a hand chased Luke, causing him to flee in panic, Matt’s heart dropped to his stomach when he realised it was his own hand chasing after his friend.
“STOP!” Matt screamed at his hand, but it did no good instead it only made things worse causing Luke to stumble from the volume of his voice and trip over his own feet, he rolled into a huddled ball on the cold floor, holding his hands tightly to his ears.
“I’m sorry!” Matt cried, his hand would not stop though, it was as though it had a mind of its own, he could only watch in horror as his hand dipped under Luke’s body, nudging it into his palm.
Finally, Matt regained control of himself, he intended to put Luke back on the ground but felt a sense of comfort knowing he was holding his friend safely, maybe now he could convince Luke that he was safe and with his friend.
“Luke, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to grab you, I couldn’t stop myself, I swear your safe and I won’t do it again.” Luke was unresponsive in his palm, the only indicator that Luke was even conscious was the flutter of his miniscule breaths against the base of his palm.
Matt reached for his friend again, this time only a single finger hoping to poke Luke playfully and get a laugh out of him, the reaction he got was far from a laugh though.
Luke’s scream echoed through the room as Matt’s finger made contact with Luke’s side, Luke’s whole body convulsed, and he wrapped his small arms around his waist in pain.
“Luke what- what just happened?” Matt exclaimed, he inched his face closer to get a better look, had he done that? Had he just hurt his friend? He had barely touched him and yet Luke was holding his middle in pain as though he’d just broken a rib.
“Matt STOP!” Luke screamed, this was the first time Luke had acknowledged him by name, recognising him for who he was, but somehow this didn’t make Matt feel any better anymore.
Matt watched in horror as the fingers surrounding Luke began to twitch, Luke’s eyes widened in fear watching and being unable to do anything to stop him. Matt urged his fingers to remain still, but they disobeyed him, slowly closing in on his best friend who was helpless and at his mercy completely.
“Matt please!” Luke cried, tears falling freely as the hand closed around him, Matt felt his small frame hot against his fingers, his chest beating wildly against his skin, every miniscule bone and joint Matt could feel with acute clarity. So fragile, so alive and yet helpless against something as insignificant as his own fist.
His fingers did not relent though, instead squeezing tighter, Luke’s face went red and his breathes came out in laboured pants as his chest was restricted further, his lungs tight with the effort of drawing a full breath.
And then a crack.
Matt felt sick as he watched Luke’s eyes gloss over before they closed completely, and he went limp.
“Luke! Wake up! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!” He wanted to shake his hand, shake Luke awake but he was so scared he would only hurt him further.
“Luke! I’m sorry! Please wake up!” Hot tears stung his hazel eyes and he cried, he released his friend from the restrictive grip and let him lay limply in his palm. He was unconscious but still breathing, he’d hurt him, hurt him badly.
“Luke.” Matt’s soft whimper faded out and the image in front of him blurred.
Matt blinked his eyes until the world around him refocused, the rhythmic buzz and whir of the fan in the room blew cold air against his sweaty skin and he stared at the ceiling above him.
He pushed himself up into a sitting position, taking in his surroundings and recognising the space as Luke’s spare room in his granny flat. He rubbed a hand over his face taking a few calming breathes as he remembered he had come over to Luke’s for a sleep over last night, the first time he’d been invited over since he found out about Luke’s ability.
“It was just a dream.” He whispered to himself, he looked around again and suddenly felt unsure, scared and alone, so he got up and quietly tiptoed out of the room.
He wanted to see for himself that Luke was okay. He couldn’t shake the sick feeling from his stomach, the feeling of being a monster.
He gently pushed the door open and peeked in, he could see his friend curled up on his large queen bed, he had his fan oscillating as well, cooling the humid room as it was a hot night. The lump that was Luke’s body under the covers rose and fell gently, indicating that he was still asleep.
Matt was about to turn around and head back into his own room for the remainder of the night, the rules were that Matt sleep in his own room just in the rare chance that Luke shift in his sleep. He hadn’t shifted in his sleep-in years, but the possibility was still there, and yet Matt couldn’t get his feet to move in the opposite direction.
Instead, he inched further into the room and carefully slipped under the covers beside his best friend, he hesitated only a moment before wrapping an arm around Luke’s waist and nuzzling his face into his neck. He didn’t care how it looked or what Luke would say when he woke up, all he knew was that he needed his best friend right now and he needed to know he was safe.
A few more tears leaked out of Matt’s eyes before he fell asleep, thankfully his sleep was dreamless as he succumbed to a feeling of peace, enjoying the presence of his friend unhurt and held securely to his body.

G/t Family dynamics is literally the cutest thing ever <3
Why Can't I Be Normal?
Size shifter short story featuring my beloved OC Luke. Poor Luke has a bad dream followed by an emotional outburst; lucky he has his family there to support him. Approx 2.8k words.
The world was so small around him, he looked around at the destruction he had caused, buildings had crumpled under his destructive hands, flattened houses that used to belong to his neighbors, gone. He could hear screams, but they were distant, he didn’t know what happened, only that everything around him was broken and it was his fault. There were tiny people littered like ants for as far as he could see and they scattered around him, all crying and running away from him.
“Luke!”
The frightened ten-year-old boy scanned the chaos around his feet and his eyes landed on his mother, tiny, broken, bleeding and stuck under a large piece of debris, he reached down to help free her, but he paused when she screamed in fear.
“D-Don’t hurt me!” She sobbed, Luke’s heart was racing, she looked at him like he was a monster.
“Luke!” She called for him again with urgency, but he didn’t know how to help her without scaring her or hurting her further, his heart ached.
“M-mum, I-I can’t-.”
“Luke!
“Luke! Baby, wake up!”
Luke’s eyes snapped open, he was covered in a cold sweat and shaking like a leaf, he had been so scared, but it had only been a dream, just a nightmare. He stared at the ceiling that looked much closer than it should have been, his eyes only a foot or two away from the tiny light globe, his heart began to race again but he dared not move.
“Mum?” He called out carefully, he must have grown in his sleep, but how?
“Luke, try to stay calm for me, okay?” He could hear her small voice, but he couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from, he felt his body tighten again and he groaned in pain.
“Mum what’s happening to me!” He had never shifted in his sleep before and he was scared, his voice shook the foundations around him, and the ceiling got closer, his eyes widened, he was still growing, and he was still in the house, this was not good.
“Luke turn your head this way, I’m right here.” Her voice was closer now, coming from his right side and he turned his head carefully in that direction. His mother stood beside his face, brown hair in a frazzled mess from sleep swept her shoulders and she wore mickey mouse flannelette pajamas, they were her favorite, she looked worried but not scared like she had been in his dream.
“There baby, see, I’m right here, your okay, take some deep breathes for me.” Her voice was calm like water, and he instantly felt better, she had a way about her that kept him calm, and she was usually the one who helped him to shrink back to normal when he had bursts like this.
Still seeing her there beside him, so small in such a cramped space that was only getting smaller, frightened him, even her voice couldn’t stop the tight aches coursing through him.
“Mum I’m scared.” He whispered, letting the tears leak out of his large blue eyes, his fingers felt the floor beneath him, his bed utterly destroyed, and his toes wriggled in the broken plaster that had been the wall on the opposite side of his bed. He hadn’t outgrown the house…yet.
“I know honey, remember what we practiced, just focus and breathe.”
“Where’s Dad and Ivy? Are they okay? I-I didn’t hurt them?” His mind raced and his face paled at the thought of what he might have done, his little sister Ivy’s room was beside his, exactly where his feet were right now.
“They are both safe, they are outside. Luke, you need to concentrate.” She said this a little more sternly this time, her eyes the very same as his own focusing intently on him.
He nodded carefully and closed his eyes, he counted his breaths, in and out slowly. He winced as he felt another sharp tightening of his body and he opened his eyes again looking at his mother with fear dripping from him as he watched her shrink, becoming smaller and smaller before his eyes.
He felt his feet hit another wall and drew them up slightly, so his knees were touching the ceiling, not wanting to break through another wall and potentially completely destroy the house.
“I can’t. I c-can’t stop it.” He said urgently.
“Okay, listen to me very carefully, we’re going to get you out of here.” She took a step closer to him and he almost flinched back in fear, not out of fear of her but out of fear of hurting her if she got much closer.
“Luke, I want you to hold me in your hand-.” He was shaking his head before she’d even finished explaining.
“N-no, I can’t, I’ll h-hurt you.”
“You won’t, because you are gentle, I know you. Hold me in your hand and then with your other hand I want you to push through this wall here.” She gestured to the wall behind his head, there was a window there but much too small for him to fit through now.
“Can you do that?” She asked gently, he gulped unsure of himself but nodded anyway.
Carefully he moved his arm closest to his mother until he was in a position where he could touch her with his fingers. Then slowly he wrapped his hand around his mother as though she were one of his action figures before raising her up slightly and holding her securing to his chest.
He glanced down to make sure that she was unhurt, but she waved him on, urging him to keep going.
With his left hand he slowly reached up behind his head, careful not to bump the walls that were slowly closing in around him and gently pushed into the wall. His eyes widened at the small amount of pressure he had applied, and he’d created a hole already, so easily, his mother called for him to keep going.
Once he’d knocked down the wall completely, he was free to fit his shoulders through, and with great care using his feet and free hand, he wriggled himself along the ground through the hole and outside. Only when his feet had cleared the house by a few feet did he stop and sigh staring up at the starry sky.
He carefully lifted his hand from his mother, allowing her to climb off of him on her own, once she was safely on the ground and a good distance away, he sat up crossing his legs and surveying the damage. The house was still standing, for that he was grateful but the wall he had smashed through looked horrible, and he could see through the wall his feet had crashed through into Ivy’s room, everything was a mess.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered shakily, his hands lay limp in his lap and he wondered if it wasn’t a dream at all, maybe it was a reality, maybe he was a monster incapable of anything but destruction, he clenched his fists suddenly angry.
“Luke? How are you doing bud?” His father had come over to check on his wife and unique son, clutching a small six-year-old girl on his hip.
“I hate this.” He stood then without warning, shaking the ground beneath his parents and causing the horses over the boundary fence to whinny and flee from him.
“Why do I have to be this giant freak!?” He stamped his foot causing a small crater, his parents stepped back, giving the young boy room.
“And if I’m not a giant I’m tiny and useless!” He kicked at one of the oak trees sending it flying through the air and landing in a field off their property, he glanced at his parents, so far away and so small, he hated seeing them like this, it made him feel like a monster.
“Why can’t I be normal!” He was just about to kick at another tree, having felt better releasing his anger that way when he heard a small cry. It hadn’t come from either of his parents, they only looked on with wide eyes, his mother with her hand over her mouth and his father holding on tightly to a writhing child.
Ivy screamed again, thrashing against her father, tears streaming down her face, she was scared, her big brother had never scared her like this before, she’d seen him big, but he had always been so gentle with her. Why was he being so scary now? She wanted to run away.
She managed to loosen her father’s grip on her and land on the ground and then she ran away, in the opposite direction of the scary giant who was not her brother.
Luke planted his foot down carefully on the ground, sparing the tree as tears stung his eyes, he had scared her. Ivy, his sweet little sister that loved him no matter what size he was. She’d use him as a playground to climb all over when he was big, and carried him protectively when he was small, not letting anyone else touch him.
Seeing her so fearful of him broke his heart and he immediately stepped towards her, to follow her and explain that he would never hurt her.
“Luke don’t!” His father yelled below him, ignoring his father’s words, he stepped over both his parents and followed his sister to her favorite hiding spot, the tree house.
Ivy scurried up the ladder on shaky legs until she’d reached the safety of their tree house, this place was strictly off limits to grown ups and she knew the giant couldn’t reach her there, he simply wouldn’t fit.
Luke approached the tree house and knelt down in front of it, trying to peer through the small window to glimpse his sister. Ivy shrieked when a large blue eyed filled the window and she ducked down below the windowpane to avoid being seen.
“Get away!” She screeched as loudly as she could manage, she was tired and scared and alone, she wanted nothing more than for her brother to hug her and tell her she was okay, and brave. She didn’t feel brave right now.
Luke flinched at her words, they hurt his heart, his lips quivered, and he cried anew.
“Ivy I’m sorry I s-scared you, I didn’t mean to.” There was silence from within the treehouse, but Ivy opened her sweet brown eyes and listened to the sobbing giant right outside, sniffling herself.
“I was angry, I’m still angry but not at you, never at you. I’m mad at myself, I should be able to control this stupid thing, but I can’t, and I was so mad that I could have hurt you without meaning to. I don’t know what to do Ivy.”
Luke rested his head on the side of the treehouse, shaking the branches only slightly and being careful not to apply too much pressure afraid he might knock the tree down, he only wanted to be nearer to her.
“I need you.” He whispered through his tears.
Ivy listened as the giant began to sound more and more like her brother, and he was hurting, he was saying mean things about himself, and she couldn’t let that happen. It was her job after all to be brave for him and look after him, no matter what size he was.
She carefully stood back up again, her chubby fingers gripping the window frame, she peered back out of the window and was confronted with a freckle covered wet cheek. Carefully she reached out a hand to touch the warm slick surface before her, his tears smelled of salt and she felt him stiffen beneath her touch.
Carefully Luke moved back to look at his sister, her brown hair hanging in bouncy spiraled curls about her face, just like his own if he allowed his to grow longer. He could see the tear stains on her own freckled cheeks, and he allowed more of his own to fall free, he hated seeing her hurt so much, and even more knowing it was he who had hurt her.
“I’m sorry I ran away.” Ivy’s small voice reached his ears, she was twisting her feet where she stood and looking at him bashfully like she was admitting to doing the wrong thing.
He shook his head. “No Ivy, you were right to run away, I was being dangerous and I’m so sorry, I won’t ever do something like that again, I promise.” He raised a large pinky finger towards the window, close enough for her to reach.
She eyed the large digit and quirked a small smile, accepting the pinky promise by tapping it with her own impossibly small pinky against his. He smiled in return and sniffled softly letting his hands drop back down to his lap.
“You’re not normal.” Ivy said quietly, she had been thinking about what Luke had said when he was kicking the trees away and wondering what words she could use to make him feel better, and she thought of just the right ones.
“Your special.”
Luke smiled a little brighter upon hearing his sister’s words, she had been faced with a dangerous giant for a brother who had scared her into hiding but just as quickly had forgiven him and was doing her best to make him feel better. It was working.
“C-can I have a hug?” He reached out a hand, holding his palm level with the door of the tree house, asking for permission to hold her.
She nodded her head quickly with a grin and skipped over to the door where her brother’s large hand was waiting patiently, she stepped on board, her bare feet tickling his palm causing it to twitch a little under her.
Ivy stretched her arms out wide as Luke raised her up to his cheek, she clutched his skin like it was her lifeline and he brought his other hand up to press her gently there, reciprocating the hug in their own special way.
Luke felt a wave of calm come over him and his skin began to itch, Ivy’s hands on his face started to grow as he began to shrink back down again. Not wanting to let her go while he shrank, he held her with both hands circling her waist until she was the right size in his arms again and with renewed vigor, he clutched her to his chest tightly.
“You’re the special one.” He said to her as he placed her back on the ground, relieved to be back to normal, well as normal as he could get.
“Luke are you okay?” His father’s voice tore him back to reality and he turned to see his mum and dad walking towards them.
His parents had caught up to them and had been watching from a distance, letting the two have their moment. Karly had assured her husband that Ivy was the right person this time to help their son and she had been right.
“Yeah Dad, I’m really sorry about-.” Luke had started to say before David cut them off, waving away the apology like it had already been forgiven, all he wanted now was to hold both his children safely and he did just that, pulling them both into a hug.
“Thank you.” Luke whispered, tears spilling anew, he should be in huge trouble right now, not only did he destroy their house, but he’d kicked the trees down and scared the horses away as well as ignoring his parents when they tried to stop him from following Ivy. His father should have been furious with him, but he was so grateful that he wasn’t.
“Let’s get you both back to bed and worry about all this tomorrow, yeah?” Karly had joined her family in the hug at some point and embraced them tightly before releasing them and ushering them back to the house.
Looking at both the hole in his own bedroom and his sister’s, Luke glanced at his parents, unsure where exactly they would sleep that night, what was left of the night anyway.
“Can we sleep with you!?” Ivy was bouncing with excitement, their parents had been working hard at getting Ivy to sleep in her own room as of late, the two adults exchanged a look before coming to the agreement.
“Yes, you can both sleep with us, but just for tonight.” Their father relented.
Ivy bounced ahead of them straight through the hole in the wall like it was nothing and made her way skipping all the way to their parents’ room.
Luke wrapped an arm around his mother’s waist, snuggling his head into her chest as they walked, he was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to roll into bed with his family and sleep for a week.
Karly leant down and kissed the top of his head, holding her son close to her.
He was special, and she would make sure no matter how others treated him and no matter what things could possibly go wrong or were out of their control, that he would remain loved.
I’m not crying your crying! Poor Lukey baby, no more nightmares okay!

this is exactly the kinda stories I was talking about a couple posts ago! I love this story! <333
OK OK, I love enotional/uncontrolled size shifters as much as the next person, but what about highly skilled size shifters?
Oh I'm running late? Some extra height will add few extra inches on my stride.
This shirt is so cute, but is a little too small... no ones going to notice if I lost a couple inches, right?
Foods really good at a restaurant? Yeah I'll take that to go (proceeds to go home and shrink so they can eat a far bigger portion)
Bonus points if their friends are all really suspicious but just keep gaslighting themselves because it's just so ... odd? Sure they must be mistaken.
Finally someone in the friend group is like, "Has Jake always been that short?" And another friend just stares and them and goes "short?? No?? Jake's taller than me?"
They all squabble, confused that everyone has surprisingly different takes on Jake's height.
They all try to size their friend up without being obvious, with whoever is right being absolutely smug.
The next day, they notice he is a totally different height.
They all have different theories, shoe inserts, posture etc... with one friend cracking a half serious joke like,
"I dunno man, what if he can.. like change his size." They all kind of run with the bit, though none of them take it too seriously.
They go out to dinner and Jake (I'm just gonna keep that name) Takes a fairly large portion home as usually. After dropping him off, one of the friends realizes Jake forgot his wallet and turns around to drop it off, not bothering to knock as he opens the door.
Jake stands there on the table, all 8 inches of him, in total shock. How was he going to explain it? Was his friend going to panic? Would they-
" I FUCKING KNEW IT!"
Their friend stands there, smug and excited, ripping their phone out of their pocket to immediately call the group.
"I WAS RIGHT!! That MOTHER FUCKER IS THE SIZE OF A KEN DOLL- No I'm not high! Dude- just -"
Jake's panicking, hopping off the table and growing to snag the phone from his friend and hold it above his head.
He worries briefly that his friend might panic, but he heres them laughing almost maniacally.
"DUUDE!"
Jake ignores their giddy excitement and addresses the phone,
"Ignore him he's just-"
He hears gasping on the phone, followed by excited jeering.
It was a video call.

What's Wrong With You?

An Asexual Awareness Week Special!
Introducing Luke as a Gay Ace in this short story about his first breakup as a young adult. I was saving this story for later, but I thought it fit the theme of the week, so you get a bonus story. This is still a G/t fic however the G/t happens towards the end. Approx 2.2k words.
Luke walked beside Jason wondering if this was what it felt like to be falling in love. They had been seeing each other for about six months after they were introduced by a mutual work colleague and had been basically inseparable since.
Spending all their free time outside of work together, playing video games, going out to community events, nature walks and frequent romantic date nights. Outside of Matt, Luke wasn’t sure he had ever adored someone as much he adored Jason, he was polite and gentlemanly, considerate of his personal space and was always looking for things to do that Luke genuinely enjoyed.
They walked towards Luke’s apartment that he shared with Matt and stopped at the steps just outside the door, Jason turned to face him with a twinkle in his hypnotizing blue eyes. They reminded him of his own but where his eyes were a pale light blue, Jason’s had flecks of aqua through them, he loved them, he loved him.
“I think that had to be the best date night so far, if I do say so myself.” Jason whispered with a soft smile on his lips.
They had just had dinner out at what had to be an expensive restaurant for which Jason had lovingly paid for followed by a sunset cruise down the Hudson River, the night had been absolutely perfect.
“It was incredible Jay.” Luke wrapped his arms around the slightly shorter but stockier man pulling him in for a soft hug and squeezing him lightly, appreciatively. He rested his head in the crook of Jason’s shoulder and inhaled his scent of expensive cologne sighing in contentment.
Jason pulled away only slightly so that their faces were inches away, Luke stared into his eyes, a soft smile creasing his features. He was about to invite Jason inside for a coffee and maybe some more snuggles, as was their usual routine, when Jason began to lean in closer, lips half an inch away from his own and aqua blue eyes fluttering closed.
Luke pulled away only slightly, he averted his eyes as Jason opened his own back up again, presumably to see what the problem was. Luke sidled over the awkwardness by grasping Jay’s hand in his and tugging him up the steps, towards the door.
Jason resisted, only going up half a step before staying in place with a hurt look clouding his eyes.
“What did I do wrong?” Jason whispered, lowering his head as he stared at the ground with eyes clenched shut.
“Jay, you haven’t done anything wrong.” Luke tried to laugh it away as though he were just being silly.
“Come on let’s go inside, pretty sure we have some mocha iced coffees in the fridge, I know you love them.” Luke continued to try and skirt the subject, but he knew it would come up eventually, he had just hoped it wouldn’t be tonight when tonight had been so perfect.
“Why won’t you kiss me?” He dropped Luke’s hand.
“What?” It was all that Luke could think to say, Jason had never once pushed him into anything he didn’t want to do, or said he wasn’t ready for, and he was so grateful, but he also knew he couldn’t keep avoiding that kind of physical intimacy forever.
He had been trying to practice how this conversation would go in his head for months but now he drew a blank, how do you tell someone you love that you don’t enjoy kissing them.
A kiss didn’t make him feel more connected to Jason, being in his presence did, laughing with him did, spending any kind of time around him did, Luke felt that their emotional connection was strong without the need for physical actions of intimacy to prove it.
“You never kiss me.” Jason said quiet but firmly, Luke felt his heart race.
“I do.” Luke defended mind racing to the number of times they had kissed during the course of their relationship.
Jason just shook his head before snapping his head up to look at him fiercely. “No, you don’t.” He shot back.
“I kiss you and that’s only if you allow it to happen which is rare. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve kissed you in the months we’ve been together. It’s not right Luke, it’s not how a relationship should be.” Jason appeared somehow angry, cold, and hurt all at the same time, Luke had never seen him like this.
“I just think we should take things s-.”
“Slow. I know, and I’ve been patient Luke, I really have. I just-.” He looked to the sky as though the stars might give him the right words to express what he was feeling and what he wanted, he sighed before meeting Luke’s worried eyes once more.
“I just don’t understand why you don’t want me.” Jason’s voice cracked with emotion.
“I do want you Jay, I-I love you.” Luke was pleading, he’d never said those three words out loud to Jason before, but he felt like Jay was slipping away and he was so desperate not to lose him.
“Then why won’t you kiss me? Why won’t you sleep with me?” He snapped fiercely, accusing now.
“I-I do sleep with you.” Luke’s words were weak, and he held back tears behind his eyes.
“Fuck Luke, you know full well what I meant, why won’t you have sex with me?” He was raising his voice now, causing Luke to flinch like he’d just slapped him.
“I- I don’t know, I just don’t want-.” He groaned in frustration with himself, his mind racing to word this better.
“I want to be with you Jay, I just don’t like that stuff.” Luke’s words dwindled to a whisper as he spoke, he couldn’t find the words to just tell him that he wasn’t interested in intimacy in that way without hurting him.
“Is it me? Are you not attracted to me?”
“No Jay.” Luke said firmly. “It’s not you, I swear, I-it’s me, I just don’t-.” he sighed again, why was this so hard to explain?
“Right.” Jason said sharply, cutting him off. “It’s not you it’s me, right? God, what’s wrong with you?” Jason had crossed his arms over his chest now, creating a cold space between them and glared at him.
Luke wondered if maybe there was something wrong with him, why did this have to be so hard, it shouldn’t be this hard to be with someone you love, he should want to be together in a more intimate way, to move their relationship forward, right?
“I’ve been understanding Luke, I’ve been so patient with you, I even put up with the secrets you keep from me, secrets that you only seem to share with your precious Matthew, but I’m done. You have to give a little too.”
Luke felt a tear slip down his cheek, taking a steadying breathe and thinking rapidly about what he could do to give Jay what he needed.
“Jay, I’ll kiss you, please just stay with me.” Luke sobbed, his skin began to tingle, the itching feeling creeping down his spine as though the mention of his stupid secret had called upon his curse, trying to convince him to shrink down to the size he felt right now.
Luke stepped closer to Jay again, grasping his hands to the sides of his face in desperation but this time Jason was the one to pull away jerkily.
“Do you even want too though?”
Luke felt his heart plummet into his stomach, and he felt sick, and itchy and he fought with himself to remain standing, to remain at a normal height, but he was losing control quickly.
“I-I can’t tell you what you want to hear.” Luke whispered, grasping the handrails to keep himself standing, he was losing him.
“I’ll see you around Luke.” He said with finality, closing his eyes once more and turning away. Luke flung his arms out ready to pull Jay back to him, but he was already fast walking in the opposite direction.
“Jay please!” Luke called after him, more tears rolled down his cheeks as he skipped down the steps but stopped at the bottom when the itch in his skin got stronger, unable to contain it anymore.
He watched in agony as Jason disappeared down the street and out of sight before turning back to the apartment door and ripping it open, he climbed the stairs two at a time while he could, feeling himself shrink inch by inch, the stairs becoming further with each stride and more difficult to climb but he pushed on.
He reached his door just as he was reaching the seven-inch mark, he ducked under the gap between the door and the floor, wriggling his way through before collapsing against the wall beside it.
Sinking to the thick carpet below him, he curled up, bringing his knees close to his chest and cried.
A short while later Matt emerged from his bedroom, he’d gone to bed early knowing that Luke was out with Jason and would be home late, he didn’t want to disturb them if they decided to come into the apartment.
Quietly Matt tip toed through the hall heading toward the kitchen to get a drink of water, he passed the front door on his way but stopped short.
He had almost missed it, his eyes scanning right past the small figure curled up against the wall.
Matt slowly approached, knowing his friend better than anyone else in the world, he knew something must have happened, Luke only shrank like this when he was really upset.
He laid down on his stomach, arms crossed in front of him on the carpet and his head resting on his forearms, looking at his diminutive friend with worry. He knew being on the same level as Luke when he was small made him feel more comfortable, shrinking wasn’t one of his favorite abilities.
“Luke, buddy? What’s wrong? What happened?” Matt kept his voice as low and gentle as possible.
Luke sniffled and rubbed at his eyes, Matt had to suppress an ‘awwww’ as he did this, he just looked so damn cute, but his concern for his friend won over and he inched his hand closer, wrapping it gently around Luke’s back in a show of support.
Luke sat up slowly leaning into the warmth the hand behind him radiated, he held Matt’s thumb in his lap as though it were a puppy and petted it absently, still not meeting his eyes.
“I-I think Jason j-just broke up with m-me.” His words shook and his tears startled falling with renewed vigor.
Matt closed his eyes, resisting the urge to clench his fists, fighting the anger building within him, he wanted to punch Jason in the face in all honesty, he never liked the guy anyway but that wasn’t what Luke needed to hear right now. Instead, he closed his fingers ever so slightly around his friend in a soft hug.
“What happened, I can organize a hit man if necessary.” He said calmly, hoping to make Luke at least laugh a little.
Luke didn’t laugh though, he didn’t even smile, he only hung his head practically whispering his words.
“I-I’m not enough for him, he n-needed more a-and I couldn’t give it to him.” He hiccupped, burying his hot wet face in his little hands.
“Did he know your Ace?”
“No. That’s my f-fault, I didn’t know how to tell him, I tried b-but I couldn’t say it r-right.”
Matt sighed, he’d known Luke was Asexual since they were teenagers, Luke was only coming to terms with this fact in the last few years and he clearly still felt a lot of shame around the subject.
“Luke, this isn’t your fault, do you hear me?” Luke met Matt’s large hazel eyes then, staring so intently into his own, he nodded weakly, not really believing it himself.
“Relationships aren’t all about sex, he should have respected your boundaries instead of thinking with his dick.”
Luke nodded again, he knew Matt was right, it didn’t help the ache he felt in his heart though.
“There are better guys out there for you Luke, one’s that will actually understand you.” He scooped his hands beneath Luke’s body gently, allowing Luke to adjust himself in the palms of his hands before standing.
“Now quite moping and let’s have some ice cream, you’re lucky you’re so small right now cos there’s only a little left and I wasn’t planning on sharing it, but I guess you can have a little bit.” Matt winked, trying to change the mood in the room.
He wasn’t comfortable in emotional situations like this, he was the kind of guy to replace tension or awkwardness with humor instead.
Luke sniffled again with a small chuckle, allowing a small smile to cross his features as he was carried into the kitchen by his best friend.
“Hey Matt?” He called prompting the dirty blonde to look down at him.
“Yeah dude?”
“Thank you.”
Matt felt a small blush touch his cheeks and he looked away promptly, muttering a grunted ‘no problem’ before dropping him off on the kitchen bench and preparing their ice cream.
A message to all my fellow Asexual’s out there, you are not alone, you are not broken and there is nothing wrong with you. You are capable of love and affection in whatever way you feel comfortable to give and receive it, don’t ever let a partner or anyone else tell you that you are incapable or undeserving of love.
