Instincts are like so....
@subconsciousmysteries mentioned more clarity is needed regarding the chemistry orientation of the sx instinct. Basically, instincts are in the brain.
The lower brain is about the bodily needs like food, water, sleep and sex. The midbrain and up has processing systems that you can categorise as seeking for resources, registering interpersonal awareness and attunement to chemistry.
To simplify things: sp is the lower brain (food, water, sleep, sex) and social and sexual is the midbrain and up.
Another simplification: having sex for fun is sp.
Having sex because you want to have children and not for fun means using sx in its basic sense. Genes are being recombined and a child is the result.
Being sx-dom or sx-aux means you’re using sx in a much broader sense. You follow the things and the people that call to you. These things transform you and you’re another person because of them. You uproot your life and experience chemical dissolving and being remade, only different. That’s chemistry for enneagram-sx.
And yes, most people will have sex both for fun and for procreation meaning they combine sp and sx. That wasn’t the point.

Sp is not sx
Mistaking sp for sx is a thing. One element of sp is the pleasure principle, ie hunting for physically and psychologically gratifying activities.
There are people who mistake high octane living and things like alcohol, drugs, and risky behaviour as signs of sx. Except that you’re talking about physical and psychological stimulation, which is tied to sp. Mistyping as sx-dominant, sometimes additionally sp-blind because of a need for partying and engaging with people. Add to that stuff like extreme sports but that too is a way of engaging with sp through challenging the body. When taken to the extreme,  it’s a type of anti-sp: testing the sp-neurosis of survival and outlasting.
Sx is a more ethereal orientation towards chemistry in the broadest sense of the word. Hang ups around your sexual attractiveness - moreso than sx-second or sx-last - and prioritising chemistry above all. Sp is not sx.

Social styles: rejection
Rejection types are focused on staving off rejection, which is why they take a power stance. Since they’re limited in terms of relating to other people, they have preset parameters for interaction. Others basically need to fill these slots.
This is tied to the neurosis with regard to their own needs. Depending on the situation, they’ll do mental acrobatics such as ignoring, denying, or burying their needs. So they meet their needs on their own, and when cooperation is needed they’ll deny their needs and go “I didn’t need it anyway”. Cutting off and walking away.
The underlying belief is that someone who “doesn’t need xyz” is essentially invulnerable. An invulnerable person can’t possibly be rejected. Cutting off/walking away is seen as affirming one’s independence. The paradox is that a lot of energy gets poured into “detachment”, ending up in anti-dependence rather than independence.

2s are not the archetype of the mother, they’re an iron fist in an iron glove. Also create dependencies in order to maintain control. 2s feel you should thank them since they’re a star who shines down upon you from the skies. Nevermind that it’s the middle of the day and nobody asked them to shine in the first place.

Centres: head triad
The core neurosis of head types revolves around the idea of being prepared from all the possible threats that arrive from the outside world. When you’re confronted with an actual problem, you come up with a solution to the best of your knowledge and insight. Except head types don’t see this due to their overfocus on every possible issue that may or may not arise. This way, they achieve a sense of psychological support they feel they lack.
They overfocus on issues that might arise, which prevents them from seeing what’s right in front of them. The defense mechanism has nothing to do with being analytical. If anything, head types usually tend to lose sight of logic. Imagine coming up with “in order to survive, I need to cut off my own head” by means of a solution.
Head types offer a detached outlook and a willingness to look at an issue from different angles. For 5s, it’s about controlling their inner resources: they minimise their personal needs and energy is directed towards a couple of niche topics they seek to master. 7s go outward as they seek experiences and opportunities in what is basically a quest for meaning. This prevents them from having to deal with feelings perceived as negative. Type 6 does both. On the one hand, they are skeptical about everything esp when it’s perceived as lacking clarity. Things get rejected out of hand in what is a quest for truth. On the other hand, they seek confirmation from the outside world. This is due to the overthinking creating inner noise.

8s and Clint Eastwood
8s aren’t Clint Eastwood. They’re regular people who happen to overfocus on boundaries and struggle with relating. 8s are used to “hard” emotions, so they usually won’t be overpowered by those. Whenever someone commits a violent act on impulse, I doubt it’s an 8 unless very unhealthy. It’s the “soft” emotions 8s aren’t naturally apt to deal with.

Centres: gut triad
The core neurosis of body types revolves around the idea of independence and autonomy from the outside world, ie not being affected by it. The contours of the body are the literal boundaries separating the person from their environment. Except body types don’t see this to their overfocus on intrusion, whether real or perceived. So they guard made up ideas about “boundaries”. The defense mechanism has nothing to do with being embodied. If anything, body types usually aren’t fully in the body.
Body types offer a sense of solidity and physical presence and want to prevent being touched by their environment. For 1s, it’s about inner regulation: they control their own responses to prevent being touched by the outside world. 8s seek to impose their will upon the environment and that way prevent the environment imposing their will upon them. Type 9s does both. On the one hand, they shut out the environment, eg. going grey rock or being boulders who slow everything down. On the other hand, they keep themself in a state of fluidity, a fake lack of ego.

Is the 458 tritype some sort of sneauxflake tritype? I have no idea what it looks like in real life. The 4-5 combination ends up studying darker things in life, even though 6s usually go darker. Peter Steele from Type O Negative is the only one that might fit the template: 845 sp/sx.

Sx asks
not-a-sad-ending: How to tell which "flavor" of SX someone is? I can't tell SX/SP and SX/SO apart.
im-a-dancer-in-the-dark: How do you clock primary sx vs secondary sx?
Sx-dominants can be fairly low key, it’s when they open up that the flood comes. Sx/soc disperses so you’re likely to notice their lack of boundaries in the broadest sense of the word. With an sx/sp, you run the risk of overlooking them altogether. You’ll spot the sp-second before you spot the sx-first.
An sx-middle is often fairly easy to spot, eg. Madonna (sp/sx), P!nk (sp/sx), Beyoncé (so/sx) and Pamela Anderson (so/sx). Sx/soc Amy Winehouse was dispersing her sx into all directions and once referenced herself as “the least guarded person I know”. Sx/sp Cher could pass for sp/soc on her everyday life pictures, if it weren’t for the distinctive presentation she has otherwise and her soc-blindness.

Since you've said ENTJ descriptions are written as type 8, what is being an ENTJ actually like straight from the horse' mouth?
I assume you mean an ENTJ description that's not mixed up with enneagram. ENTJs are naturally attuned towards organising their environment. Rather than merely being interested in how a system works in itself, they have a knack for spotting what's missing and enjoy improving a system.
They can figure out complex problems and come up with effective strategies for implementing long-time solutions. Naturally driven towards action they prefer objective standards and working in a systematic manner. I haven't seen it mentioned, but Te overlaps with Si where neither do well in environments where the rules seem to shift arbitrarily.
Lastly, ENTJs have a capacity for flexibility and negotiation, since they understand the importance of effective communication in realising a particular vision.

What is inferior Te *actually* about? Depending on the source is either being worried about your reputation/what others think of you OR not trusting your own competence OR feeling stifled by any sort of regulations and external criteria. I actually think ISFPs are a confusing type to identify because so much of what's said about them sounds like 4: super sensitive and artistic and *aesthetic*.
IxFPs tend to perceive inf Te as threatening authenticity and the right to be yourself. Something I've observed is that the harsh and belligerent Te is usually from people with weak Te who are otherwise unbalanced.
Te in isolation is laser-focussed on end goal. It goes by protocols, objective standards and the most efficient steps to get from A to B. Fi-dominants fear this as "erasing identity", so objective assessments of performance ends up interpreted as judgements of their character. Also believing that they have to get it perfect at the first try so end up not trying altogether since "at least" they didn't fail that way.
Fi-dominants process their environment inwardly, meaning they make value judgement of the people and the situations they encounter. Like Ti-dominants, they construct a model except theirs is founded upon notions of right and wrong, personal preferences and passions.
When ISFPs don't balance Fi by using their aux Se in a healthy way, they'll paint themself into a corner. Cut themself off from the outside world and cling to apathy which feels safe. Engaging with the outside world (Se) is needed to see whether their value judgements (Fi) will stand the test of reality. That way, they become more objective without feeling they have to give up their values.
