Niedawno miałam okazję spradzić fotoksiążkę firmy Saal Digital
Na rynku jest wiele firm oferujących podobną usługę fotograficzną. Przykładem może być firma Fotojoker. Drukowałam już podobne książki i nie raz zdarzało mi się więcej czasu spędzić na telefonowaniu na infolinię w celu wyjaśniania napotkanych problemów, niż na samym projektowaniu. Z tego względu podchodziłam do tego testu z pewną rezerwą. Jednak możliwość wydrukowania fotoksiążki prawie za darmo skusiłaby chyba każdego sceptyka.
Testowanym produktem była fotoksiążka, jednak potraktowałam ją jako coś w rodzaju wzornika-portfolio. W obu przypadkach zależy nam głównie na jak najlepszym odwzorowaniu kolorów i szczegółów w druku.
Oprócz odbitek zdjęć i fotoksiążek, firma Saal Digital oferuje inne usługi fotograficzne czy fotoprezenty, takie jak fotoobrazy, kalendarze, kartki, fotozeszyty, plakaty itp.
Aplikacja
Aby zaprojektować książkę należy pobrać aplikację, która optymalizuje proces zamawiania produktu. Instalacja jest szybka, prosta i bezpieczna. Jeśli projektujemy fotoksiążkę od zera, to wykonanie tego za pomocą aplikacji zdecydowanie oszczędzi nam sporo czasu.
Co natomiast zrobić, gdy mamy już gotową książkę/album przygotowany np. w In Design i stwierdzimy, że chcemy go wydrukować? Niestety firma Saal Digital nie oferuje (jeszcze) aplikacji kompatybilnej z ID. A przynajmniej nie udało mi się takowej znaleźć, mimo iż natknęłam się na informację, że miała być dostępna również wersja pozwalająca na zaprojektowanie w Photoshopie. W takim przypadku pozostaje nam jedynie eksportować każdą stronę osobno i dopasowywać do formatu fotoksiążki.
Wybór parametrów
Zdecydowałam się na małą kwadratową książeczkę. Dokładnie o wymiarach 19x19cm, 26-ciu matowych stronach, w twardej oprawie i bez watowania. Krótko mówiąc chciałam zobaczyć co można otrzymać za jedną z niższych cen ( ceny tego formatu rozpoczynają się od 125zł - zdjęcie poniżej).
Projektowanie
Bardzo dużym atutem użycia aplikacji jest łatwe przygotowanie książki za pomocą dostępnych szablonów lub automatycznego układu. Nie trzeba być grafikiem, by przygotować estetyczną fotoksiążkę, czy też pamiątkowy album. Wystarczy dobrać zdjęcia i odpowiednio je rozmieścić, co często zajmuje dużo więcej czasu niż projektowanie szaty graficznej :)
By przetestować funkcje dostępne w aplikacji, zdecydowałam się na pusty projekt. W ten sposób mogłam najlepiej sprawdzić jak (i czy w ogóle) mogę zprojektować konkretny układ, który sobie wymyśliłam.
Aplikacja jest prosta i czytelna. Co ważne: istnieje możliwość zaprojektowania każdej strony. Włącznie z wewnętrzną stroną okładki, czego nie oferują wszystkie firmy (np. Fotojoker, tam oni wybierają kolor i papier na tę część, co nie zawsze jest dopasowane do całości).
Zaznaczone są spady, marginesy i krawędzie stron. Kiedy przysuwamy dany element za bardzo do brzegu, to pojawia się komunikat. Niewprawnym osobom ułatwi to uniknięcie obcięcia istotnych części zdjęcia czy napisu.
Podobała mi się również możliwość dodawania większej ilości stron w liczbie 2, bowiem konkurencyjne firmy nie zawsze na to pozwalają. Tu znowu odniosę się do niedawno drukowanej książki w Fotojokerze, gdzie mogłam dodać min. 8 stron lub wielokrotność ósemki, co jest kłopotliwe i w przypadku, gdy braknie nam miejsca na jedno lub dwa zdjęcia, musimy dołożyć aż osiem stron, a to niesie za sobą dodatkowe koszta i często dobieranie kolejnych zdjęć na siłę, albo zmusza nas do rezygnowania z czegoś, by zmieścić się w mniejszej liczbie.
Możliwości graficzne jak na potrzeby takiego produktu są wystarczające. Ciekawe style czcionek (aczkolwiek w tym przypadku im więcej rodzajów, tym lepiej). Jest nawet sporo masek w różnych kształtach.
Kilka rzeczy, które mi się nie podobały
Oprócz ceny, bo szczerze powiedziawszy nie jestem pewna, czy zdecydowałabym się na tę książkę, gdyby nie ten test. Aczkolwiek teraz istnieje większe prawdopodobieństwo, iż skorzystam z usług tej firmy ponownie.
Brak możliwości decydowania o grubości stron. Zdziwiłam się, gdy otwierając książkę spostrzegłam, że wszystkie kartki są grube jak tektura. To przywodzi na myśl książeczki dla małych dzieci, które potargałyby cieńsze strony.
Brak przycisku umożliwiającego zbuforowanie nowych zdjęć w folderze. Innymi słowy: przygotowałam sobie folder, gdzie wrzucałam grafiki wybrane do książki i po dodaniu nowych, nie były one widoczne w aplikacji. Musiałam przełączyć na inny folder i dopiero wróciwszy do poprzedniego, pojawiały się nowo dodane zdjęcia. Zatem przydałaby się jakaś opcja w stylu np. odśwież bufor.
Brak możliwości narysowania kształtu innego niż prostokąt w celu wypełnienia go kolorem. Nie można też narysować własnego kształtu maski (np. trójkąta czy napisu).
Zamawianie i płacenie
Po sprawdzeniu, czy nie wkradły się żadne błędy przechodzimy do koszyka i dokonujemy płatności. A nawet jeśli się wkradną, to po załadowaniu książki do zamówienia pojawiłby się stosowny komunikat.
Wszystko jest przejrzyste i proces zamawiania przebiega na prawdę bardzo sprawnie. Byłam na prawdę bardzo pozytywnie zaskoczona, że zdążyłam wysłać książkę i zapłacić jeszcze przed wyjściem do pracy :)
Na podany adres email przyszła faktura, informacja z numerem zamówienia oraz numerem przewozowym, dzięki czemu z łatwością mogłam śledzić drogę jaką przebyła książka od drukarni aż pod drzwi mego domu.
Moja ocena
Jakość produktu jest bardzo wysoka, kolory identyczne, jak te widoczne na ekranie komputera! Kod QR na tylnej stronie okładki jest niewielki i nie psuje odbioru całości, a jeśli miałby komuś bardzo przeszkadzać, to za 25zł może zamówić wersję bez takowego. Na prawdę niewiele rzeczy mi przeszkadzało w aplikacji (aczkolwiek możliwości personalizacji mogłyby być większe) oraz w wyglądzie książki (najbardziej chyba te grube strony, które przy większej ilości mogłyby być niewygodne oraz znacznie zwiększać ciężar takiej fotoksiążki). Dlatego z czystym sumieniem mogę polecić wszystkim, którzy chcą sprawić sobie lub bliskim taką pamiątkę, a fotografom i grafikom w celu stworzenia estetycznie wydrukowanego portfolio.

Last photo the organizers of erasmus correspondent photo competition wanted us to publish with description supposed to be called “your favourite”. I couldn’t choose just one! I love all of them, cause if u followed my blog you know every one is connected with many memories.
I dedicated this post to the best person I met there.

"In memories I usually return to common moments with Devki (she's from India and was also a participant of the exchange, but not an Erasmus). First trip we booked separately, but came back together and it stayed this way. With every passing day our friendship intensified. No matter where, what, how, as long as together. With her, even in an empty club I had excellent time; after all, we had the whole dancefloor at our disposal xD While I was ill, she could come from the other end of the town just to cheer me up and make hot chai. That is the proverbial "need ", which meets the friends indeed. All these cases (not necessarily fortunate) that led to the fact that I met her became something for what I thank fate. I wish such friendship to anyone going on Erasmus! You do not need hundreds of people to spend a great time. With just a few but really wonderful people is enough to be happy. "

First I will start with some good news.
During my whole stay I was regularly writing for the erasmus fanpage of my home university, because they announced a photo competition for the best erasmus correspondent. Every few weeks they were sending a topic we had to present on photographs (from the country we were having our exchange) enriched by short description.
Thanks to this blog I was bit more fluent in writing and expressing my thoughts.
It was worth it cause jury really liked my descriptions. <yay>

1st place ex aequo prize and "memory card" with a value of 200 PLN receive Simon Klepacz and Michalina Warska. The competition was attended by 25 stipendists of Erasmus +.
Simon Klepacz (Faculty FTIMS, course computer science, studies at Reykjavik University in Iceland) has been recognized for outstanding artistic values of images, and Michalina Warska (Faculty TMiWT, course design, studies at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden) for creative presentation of the local culture and community, educational values, which allow you to better understand and meet northern Europe.

Just to be clear about the prize I will be given I need to say that I asked organizers if they could purchase for the same amount of money a camera film for an analog camera, because I don’t need a memory card. They had no problem with that, so I am really happy that they appreciated my effort and I will get something I really need and can’t afford.

Last few weeks I was not really active here, but it is not like I was doing nothing.
First of all:
I came back from my Erasmus exchange and needed to fill some confirmation of stay papers, study for exams and finish projects raports to pass semester (all 36 ECTS) at my home University in Poland. That caused a lot of busy days till mid July.
Second:
Meet family and friends. I declared for that all the free time I had left. Beside that it was great to meet them after such a long time it was even nicer when my friends (and sometimes even random acquaintance not seen for really long) were telling me they were reading this blog and looking for photos I am posting here. Because for whole my stay I was writing it, but always questionizing “Is it anyone even reading it?”. Turnes out there is :D
Third:
Not even a bit as good as previous one, but it had the biggest effect on my absence here. I was ill for long and already 3 times since I am back in Poland. Now I started a vaccine cure so hopefully it will help for long.
Last but not least:
Whole August I spent on internship. It was interesting, it was tiring (even more while my illness), I learned a lot, we’ve made interesting things (it was screenprinting workshop). So it was real home-work-home+some food shopping time during a week and relax on weekends which I prefered to spend outside than in front of computer.
I finished 3 days ago, so now I can update this blog with more exchange experiences.

After tiring day it is great to relax in Hagabadet Welness and Spa in Gothenburg.
Especially if you have coupons for 2 in 1 so you can take there your best friend and have double fun for half of regular price :D
Remember about food, cause they don’t serve any warm meals in afternoon and water aerobic/yoga/gym might make you hungry. #iamhungry
First I saw this building I was curious how it looks inside. And I was amazed to be able to admire the interiors, cause they really look different to any other modern spa or water parks. This one gives more feeling of hammam (turkish bath) or russian banja than regular spa.
That’s why I was curious about its history. So of course I googled it and will share some with you here.
Hagabadet i stadsdelen Haga i Göteborg
Hagabadet is a swimming facility in Haga in Gothenburg, founded in 1876. The bath was in August 25, 1997,listed as building considered to have "... great social historical values by highlighting the future of housing conditions and forms of intercourse."

The facility was originally built as Renströmska Bathing and washing prison after Sven Renström 1869 donated funds to the city of Gothenburg for the "promotion of tidiness, soundness and health". The building was designed by Axel Kumlien with city architect Victor von Gegerfelt as helpers. It was developed in consultation with Professor carl curman, who was the foremost expert in balneology. The facility was inaugurated in December 9, 1876. It consisted of simple tub bath in a second-class section facing Southern Allégatan and a more elegant title for the first class turning against Haga East Street.

Bath middle was destroyed by fire in 1903. A new building was designed by Wilhelm Klemming, previously involved in the construction of Sturebadet and Centralbadet in Stockholm. In doing so the bath had a large indoor swimming pool (which is on the first picture in this post). Over the years, however, they considered it to be areas for confined and in connection with the modern Valhallabadet opened in 1956, they closed Renströmska (Hagabadet previous name). The building was then used as theater, place for workshops and local club events

In the 1970s, it was part of conservation project for Haga, where the bath long been seen as an essential part. Since reopening under the current name - Hagabadet, apart from the bath departments including wellness, spa, conference facilities and a restaurant.
The bath is now a family-Per-Olof Johansson and Helene Johansson then wellness company Feelgood sold the company to the CEO and his wife in May 2013. In the autumn of 2013 became investment company Pegrocodelägare in Hagabadet.

Gothenburg suprises me every day.
In my post box I got notification paper that I have package to collect in the closest Nord Post office to my housing area. Imagine my puzzlement when I discovered it is located inside the ICA supermarket and what more the post office window was just next to the hygiene section (diapers, pads, tampons etc.).
Photo is a bit blurred, because I took it very quickly. But I hope it is enough to understand and see my point. It was super funny xD

Barbeque and cultural drinking in Slottskogen park, which I have shown you once here, but it was raining and snowing on that day.
This time weather was much better. But how could it be otherwise, it is June! This obliges.
I was lucky to catch up to the beach volleyball game with some swedish students. It was really funny when I told them I am exchange student they said ,,Welcome!” and it is more like “Goodbye time” now for me here. This is quite sad, because you think “och maybe if I would stay for longer I would make more friends or spend more time enjoying really sunny Sweden. But anywhere u go it is always easier to meet new people during spring and summer than in winter time. We just need to use the most of opportunities we are being given.

It might seem pretty empty and kanoe office is closed, but only because it was after 8pm. during my walk to join friends at the picnic which was happening in place called Delsjöbadet.

After a long day and seminars at college it is great to spend evening with friends in more relaxed atmosphere. Especially when we all know these are one of our last days here :(
When the mosquitos are starting to bite you it is time to change location :/ We are not that advanced in living in Sweden to equip ourselves with OFF spray or something similar.
Fortunately it is bright very long, so we can enjoy this favorable weather even more.

As a big thank you to our Swedish classmates for their warm welcome and kindness during this semester we (exchange students from Design course) organised this small Tack and Hej då dinner. Thanks to money support from our coordinator we enjoyed delicious tacos in the student kitchen in HDK building and then we went outside to have one of the last chats. We talked about our plans and also shared our impressions after this semester. Who knows if we’ll ever see each other again. But we will remember each other forever. These medals with simple portraits of every Swedish classmate we’ve been given are really nice to memorize everyone of them.

Meantime in Poland.
Few months ago I applied with my icon to participate in an exhibition in my home town. And I got accepted :D There was opening yesterday, so unfortunately I couldn’t go, but my dear grandfather could and told me he really liked this year event.
I made this icon during a icon writing course at TUL with Roman Vasylyk
