RAMADAN DURING A LOCK DOWN NO CONGREGATIONAL PRAYERS By now, we can almost certainly say that Muslims in most parts of the world will be in lock-down throughout the month of Ramadan. This means there will be no congregation, nor tarawih prayers, no Jum'ah and may be not even Eid prayers (Allahu Alam). This year it is something we are all going to have to embrace. Although the very thought of this would be depressing to many of the Muslims, but as Muslims we do not despair. We look for the positives and do the best of what we can. Unfortunately a big part of the Ummah had taken Ramadan to be a festival and not a month of self development. The Companions never prayed Taraweeh in a group (they just prayed behind the Prophet ﷺ two or three times) . They used to go home and pray alone. This is the year we will discover the original spirit of Ramadan! Worshiping asking to Allah in private. Ask Allah to forgive you, weep, ask Allah to open the doors of His houses (masjids). Reciting the Quran while contemplating on it. Making Duas in long Sujood. Praying Tarawih (night prayer) in the later parts of the night Praying with Family. Take this as an opportunity to make your relation better with Allah and be amongst those who are under His shade on the Day of Judgement. As per the Hadeeth quoted Prophet ﷺ said, “There are seven whom Allah will shade on a day when there is no shade but his.
