As a poc and by listening to people from various races about their opinions regarding Swift over the years, everyone who has an understanding of the basic feminism, racism and capitalism hates her. And while some of them listen to her once in a while, they themselves consider anyone who declared proudly that they enjoy her music to be a red flag. So yes while poc can enjoy music, it's also pretty dumb to enjoy the work of someone who would never value you because of your race and gender. I mean, if you like that kind of thing, then yes vibe to it, give her streams, your money - of course that's sarcasm. But yeah anyone who declares they like her is usually seen as the one who wants to be white so bad. That's why we label her fandom as white teenage girls. Not in the literal sense but you all have the same mindset - of a white teenage girl.

Oh, well you like this artist and her fan base is mostly white teenage girls, than you must want to be white and try to suck up to white people.

Also while Taylor has done some shitty things, I’m not denying that, to say that she wouldn’t value someone because of their race and gender is really far.

As a Roma Jewish girl, I have interacted with people who wouldn’t actually value me because of those said things.

I saw a good video about it one time, but I don’t think it’s a problem of racism but of classicism.

In all honesty I think artists like her, are more prone to treating people on class than on color.

Zutara shippers are guilty of this too, but Kataang shippers are way more guilty of it.

The fact that a Zutara shipper can be expressing their genuine feelings about Kataang, and get accused of rage bait and not watching the show really bugs me.

Ultimately it’s not that serious. This is tv show from like ten years ago, with a huge fan base, theirs going to be different interpretations of characterization and romances.

If you can’t handle that, you really don’t deserve to be in the fandom. These aren’t real people, they’re fictional characters, and people having headcannons and disagreeing with your ship does nothing to stop you.

Like I said I am biased, since I am a Zutara shipper but I honestly think Kataang shippers are way more guilty of it.

Like me talking about Aang and Kataras relationship wasn’t handled well, doesn’t stop you from shipping them. But you harassing me and saying borderline insulting that I didn’t watch the show, is rude. Plain and simple.

Once again, this is a children show from ten years ago with a wide fanbase, so if you find someone you disagree with, there is no need to be mean to them, and act like these are real people.
