uh. I hope this is okay <3 I dont rlly write from certain people's perspective? but I tried for u <3 i never write in first person so this felt so funny lmao. it's been so long i've genuinely forgotten how to write like this

"James, stop," I giggled

James pulled his lips away from my neck. Y/N sneered at their brother, faking a gag as he winked at them. James pulled me into his side. They smiled at us, a blush spread across my cheeks.

"I'll see you lot later," Y/N chuckled, leaving the common room.

I softly pushed James away from me. I made up some stupid excuse about having to study and follow in Y/N's footsteps.

Y/N and I have always been friends. Thick as thieves, ever since first year. James was always pining over me and they always made fun of him, they still do. It's a funny thing.

I had never liked her before. And then James and I started dating. All of a sudden they were all I could think about. Even when James had his lips plastered against my neck, their smile was painted on the back of my eyelids.

I would never tell them. I'd never tell anyone. I couldn't bare to ruin their relationship with James like that. He'd never talk to them again. All because of some stupid crush.

It's only a crush. It's a stupid, hormone fueled crush. I like James. I love James. Y/n and I are friends, and it ends there. Friends forever.

Always, forever.

Can you imagine the panic that was happening when Harry Potter was born? Like you know damn well that all of the marauders were in that delivery room (Including peter). Like they are all taking turns holding Lily's hand, trying to chill each other out. Because of everyone's reactions the healer can't even really tell who that father is.

Like, Lily is laying there sweating, squeezing James's hand maybe even screaming once in a while. Cause sis is giving birth.

James a man who has no chill like ever, is freaking out. Cause 'omg lily is in pain' and ' holy shit I'm gonna be a dad'. So he is sitting next to Lily holding her hand squeezing just as much as she is. Even getting up every once in a while to pace the room and hype himself up or whatever.

Sirius 'the drama queen' Black is there so everything is now amped to 100. He's freaking out cause 'i have never heard lily scream like that oh no' and 'omg james is gonna be a dad' and finally 'Remus I'm gonna be an uncle and a god father'. So he's trying to calm james down while Remus is trying to calm him down.

Peter is standing a little off to the side to give everyone some space. He's like tapping his foot also getting worked up cause everyone is freaking out.

Remus the friend who usually has to chill everyone out is even having trouble keeping cool. Just him switching between being calm cool and collected to playing with his fingers and tracing his scars. "Pads chill out just sit down" 'omg what if we are making it worse, oh no.'

Then we have Mary who showed up a little later but is standing next to Lily whilst yelling at the boys. "Remus stop picking at your scars" "James count to a hundred get your breathing under control I can smell your breath all the way over here" "Lily your doing so great" "Pete drink some water your looking pale" "Sirius I swear on Merlin's life stop messing with you hair before I shave it off!"

Harry: Hey Sirius, how did you come out to everyone as gay?

Sirius: oh, that's a great story. It was fifth year, and it was before me and moony were dating,

Remus: oh merlin, not this...

Sirius: and so, James was the only one who knew. One day at a common room party, and stood on the table, grabbed James and snogged him.

Harry: *completely shooketh* w-what?

Sirius: then I yelled 'I'M GAY EVERYONE!' and there was a lot of cheering. I had to explain to everyone of course that James was just being my demonstration.

Harry: right...hey Ron?

Ron: yeah, what up mate?

Harry: *grabs Ron and kisses him* I'M BISEXUAL EVERYONE!

Ron: *has stopped functioning*

So I like to think that all of the Weasley extended family spends every holiday and birthday together at the burrow. But one holiday that tops all is christmas. First the entire extended family is in the same house christmas eve and day. Second because I know that Teddy and Victoire (who are best friends and platonic soulmates) definitely started everyone's favorite tradition The Weasley Awards©

Like they definitely started it when they were like 14 cause they heard a muggle born classmate talking about the most likely to things in yearbooks. So they were both just like "we should do that".

And they did.

Every member of the family sits down every Christmas Eve and sits through the always riveting Weasley Awards.

Each person gets a least 2 awards usually a "most likely too" and a "best (blank)". That usually change every year depending on who wins it. But there's a few that stick every year since the tradition started, they are as followed.

"Most likely to be the reason Mcgonagall finally retires"

"Most likely to be arrested by Harry"

"Most likely to run off to some odd location without telling anyone" (just like charlie)

"Best Aunt"

"Best Uncle" (both voted on my all the grandchildren)

"Most likely to give grandmum a heart attack"

"Best ginger hair"

"Best ride or die duo" Teddy and vic win almost every year

"MVW (most valuable weasley)"

And everyone takes them so seriously. Like the competition for the awards are crazy because everyone in that family is hella competitive. Other then these everyone gets pretty funny ones.

Because of the awards if anyone is bringing a friend over for Christmas Eve you need to tell Teddy and Victorie 3 weeks ahead of time.

Bonus:

When everyone gets older (early 20s 6th or 7th year at hogwarts). The awards for each person especially the cousins get dirtier and the nastiest things you could think of. For example;

"Most likely to have a threesome but forget the names of the other participants" James definitely won that one but Fred the second and George were strong contenders.

"Most likely to try and seduce their way out of a parking ticket" Ron won with Charlie and Teddy as strong runner ups.

"Most likely to get caught in a broom cupboard" Bill 1000%

"Most likely to flirt with mcgonagall" Teddy

The thought of the marauders in sparkly v- necks is the only thing keeping me going so thank you.

Marauders at a Disco Roller Rink circa the late 1970s

a/n: literally couldn’t get the idea of the marauders at a disco out of my head and @weasleyh0e made it better by suggesting ✨rollerblading disco✨ so i present you with whatever the hell this is

warnings: swearing

- remus knows all about muggles, obviously

- he knows everything that’s popular in tv, music, fashion, etc.

- and he really wants to go to a disco club

- preferably a gay disco club

- the other guys don’t really want to go dancing

- so remus suggests they go rollerblading instead

- everyone agrees

- plot twist, it’s ✨roller disco✨

- remus dresses everyone up as “muggles”

- which really means he has them in over-the-top disco clothes (think: bell bottoms, sequined shirts, v-necks, flashy jewelry, etc.)

- meanwhile he’s dressed like fucking eric forman from that 70s show (he’s literally just wearing jeans and a t-shirt)

- needless to say, sirius, james, and peter are absolutely Shook™️ when they see that everyone is dressed super casually

- and they look like, well, disco balls

- remus is laughing his ass off while sirius tries to book it out of the rink and peter puts his coat back on to hide his clothes

- but james is so full of himself that he honestly doesn’t care

- he actually thinks he looks really good

- and he’s naturally good at rollerblading

- sirius and peter are not

- and neither is remus tbh

- remus only agreed to rollerblading because he really wanted to hear some good disco music

- james is doing laps, literally just showing off

- remus, sirius and peter are clinging to the wall for dear life

- neither of them had moved a single inch and three songs have passed already

- so now not only are sirius and peter being looked at for their elaborate attire, but because they also keep falling on their asses

- eventually james stops doing laps just so he can stand on the sides and laugh

- sirius grabs james’ arm and pulls him on the floor

- now the four of them are rolling around the floor, laughing and low key wrestling each other

- peter begs james to help him learn how to skate

- so they form a train, james at the front

- remus holds on to james, sirius holds to remus, and peter is at the back holding on to sirius

- peter is literally clinging to sirius like a koala

- peter’s chest is pressed against sirius’ back and he’s practically wrapping his legs around him

- james starts zig zagging back and forth as he skates and peter is literally freaking the fuck out

- james is literally skating like ➡️➡️⬆️➡️⬇️➡️↗️↘️➡️⤴️↖️🔄➡️ (thanks @weasleyh0e for the visual)

- peter starts crying and sirius starts yelling at james to slow down

- not really because he cares that peter is crying, he’s more upset that peter is getting snot on his shirt

- they have to stop and comfort peter

- remus probably buys him a slushie or something to calm him down

- remus is literally the parent of the group

- sirius is yelling at james for making peter cry

- now everyone’s looking at the four oddly-dresses boys yelling at each other in the middle of the rink

- they never go rollerblading again

So overall Joanne missed a huge opportunity to show how people and the entire community in Harry Potter grew after the war. And having Harry's kids not be in Gryffindor would have been a really good book, showing both the kids and the entire Weasley- Potter family get over their own internalized bias. Which was a sort of theme I got from reading cursed child.

None of Harry and Ginny's kids should have been in Gryffindor.

Now I understand this is a bold statement, but hear me out.

In the marauders era we see four friends; James, Sirius, Peter, and Remus. Each one of them represent one of the Hogwarts houses.

James: Is very obviously Gryffindor. Brave, courageous, loud, most likely trigger happy every once and a while.

Sirius: Slytherin. He obviously came from a long line of slytherins (That's like his entire backstory). But I also believe that he has many of the defining Slytherin traits.

Peter: Hufflepuff. We don't know much about cannon him when he was young but I do think that he was a particularly shy person. I also think when they were in school he was very kind and tried to avoid conflict. It could be argued that those traits are what caused him to become a death eater but that's for you to think.

Remus: Ravenclaw. We know him in cannon to be a very intelligent and witty person. We see it in his teachings and it was probably said once or twice that we was very smart.

But heres the thing, the hat put them in Gryffindor. Either because that's what they needed to grow as people and see their own potentials. Or (in what I think Sirius' case was) simply because they choose it, which backs the theory that the hat puts you in the house with the traits you want or need.

Now let's talk about the Golden Trio. They represent every house BUT Gryffindor.

Ron: Hufflepuff. He is probably the most kind hearted loyal person we see throughout the series. He always sticks by his friends and family and was always ready to fight anyone to protect them.

Hermione: Ravenclaw. Again we see the more intelligent one of the group symbolizing Ravenclaw. She aces all of her assingments, has her nose in a book, and just pulles together the whole book smart aspect of Ravenclaw traits. (Also I don't think Ravenclaw's are only book smart but for her personality that is what aspect of Ravenclaw she is.)

Harry: Slytherin. Harry's is more obvious because the hat considered putting Harry in Slytherin. There's to many times in the books and movies in my opinion that back this up so I won't go into any specifics.

And again with this generation they chose or that hat decided that they would be better in Gryffindor. Also backs the theory of whatever house your put in are the traits you aspire to have.

Okay so for Harry's kids I think it's the same thing as the trio but backwards. They are all Gryffindors but more or less put themselves in other houses.

James Sirius: Hufflepuff. So I don't remember if its said or implied anywhere in cannon, but I do think that James looked up to Teddy a lot. Because he looked up to Teddy he would try to be like him by being kind to everyone. And like both his namesakes very loyal to his family. But I also think that he is very courageous and brave. Or to put it simply he has Gryffindor traits. Now I think he was a hat stall because he probably debated with the hat on where to put him. Cause on one hand he wanted to be like Teddy, but on the other he wanted to be like his mum, dad, and the rest of his extended family. But like Harry, James had enough bravery to tell the hat to put him in Hufflepuff with his older brother. And that's where I think the Gryffindor shines through.

Albus Severus: Slytherin. Again this is his cannon house but I want to add more backing as to why. I would have to check cursed child to see if he was a hat stall but if not I think he should have been. Throughout cursed child we see him go though these adventures with his boyfriend best friend Scorpius. Which anyone would think is very BRAVE. Although during these he also uses his whit and quick thinking to get though these adventures. Some would say we was being CUNNING or dare I say AMBITIOUS. But the hat put him in Slytherin because he already had the traits to be a Gryffindor. But the ones for Slytherin out weighted these and he was put there.

Lily Luna: Ravenclaw. Again I think she has the traits to be Gryffindor but like one of her namesakes is a Ravenclaw. We don't know much about her in cannon but I imagine Lily to be much like Ginny as they are both witty and slightly head strong people. I also like to think of her as creative wether art wise or any other way she chooses to express it. (This is also a nice contrast to how Hermione represents the side of Ravenclaw that is book smarts. Lily is the creative side.) And just like her brother's she was a hat stall, cause she had the traits for Gryffindor but the hat recognized like it did with James and Al that she would grow more in Ravenclaw.

And over the three generations of Harry Potter we see how the symbolism grows over time. Just like how we see the wizarding world grow blood status wise. Marauders represent all houses including Gryffindor. Golden Trio all execpt Gryffindor, but they chose it. And Next Gen they all have the same traits to be in Gryffindor but stood their ground and went where they knew they needed to be. Which in hindsight is the bravest thing a person can do.
