hi everyone, i’m back with a brand new song two months in the making :) this one’s a lot more anime theme-inspired i think. despite how much more time consuming it gets to mix pianos and orchestral stuff like violins/cello/contrabass together, i’m proud of how this turned out cuz it sounds super pretty, especially with the rock drums. ☺️

Currently working on an hour-long presentation of Artifact for YouTube. It’s gonna be a continuous mix, and sort of like a director’s cut. There’s certain things I’d wanted to do story-wise with it that I ended up having to cut from the final album version in order for it to work as a product, so I wanted a chance to release it as I originally intended. Most of it will be the same, though some parts will be different or extended.

Might be awhile before it’s up because I am doing some crazy cinematic stuff with it, but it’ll be worth the wait. ☺

I just discovered your music by searching "porter robinson" in my tumblr search bar, and... your stuff is REALLY good. I was shocked when I discovered you only had twenty-five monthly listeners on Spotify. Criminally underrated if you ask me. I listened straight through your album Artifacts and needless to say, that took me on a journey. I could feel the passion and the long nights spent working on this project of yours. There were times in my listen through where I started to tear up because I could relate so heavily to the emotional themes the track was portraying. I can't explain it, but you have sincerely touched me and cemented Artifacts as a staple in my music library. From the bottom of my heart... thank you.

Omg thank you so much for your kind words, and for taking the time to listen! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 My biggest hope was that Artifact would feel like a journey, and that there'd be some aspects people could connect with and relate to. Making it was somewhat of a mental health journey for me as well, and tbh, Porter's openness about his own struggles inspired me to keep going and not hold back too. I think people need more honesty nowadays to know they're not alone.

As for my listener count, yeahhh 😅 Share my music and tell your friends if you can! I've been trying to work on more promo this year, but I'm not the best at it haha. Still, I'm grateful for whoever my music does reach. Thank you again, truly, for checking it out ☺

hey everyone.

i’m kominion and i make electronic music. i’m not sure how to define it, as i’m notoriously bad with genres (and hashtags, & many other things). but if you like porter robinson, jai wolf, madeon, or certain vocaloid producers, i might just be your new fav. if not, i hope to talk to you anyway.

for the longest time, i tried to be sound like every other artist i idolized. porter robinson specifically, because he makes beautiful music that touches something in my soul, and honestly, i can relate 1000% to his mental health struggles. but i can only be me, and porter is someone whose work inspired me to be as open and honest as i can with my own music.

which brings me to artifact, an album that is at least 7 years in the making. what began as a sci-fi concept album first conceived while listening to porter & madeon’s shelter became an intensely personal journey through my childhood trauma, something i wasn’t even aware that i had until it was brought up in therapy and i began to process it as an adult.

and against all odds, artifact would thankfully not leave me alone. even through my adhd habits, periods of procrastination, depression, a short stint in alcoholism, a toxic relationship, my notorious inability to finish most things i start, and the death of my prior laptop. it kept calling my back.

now, i’m thankful to say that in just one day’s time, it will be here. i hope you keep an open mind and heart and give it a chance, but more than that, i hope you give yourselves a chance.

you’re worthy. you’re beautiful. your emotions, experiences, and identities are valid. know that the one thing you’ll always have to fight hardest against in this world is yourself and your own perceived limitations. you’re more than you might think you are, and most importantly, you’re enough. remember that. 💜
