hello hello, this is my first time requesting on your blog so i’m sorry if i make any mistakes with my request !! but can i please have a drabble of any of these men: shinsou hitoshi, daichi sawamura, koushi sugawara or yu nishinoya comforting a pretty stressed out female s/o? she’s been working and studying that she doesn’t have much time for herself, thank you so much!
TAKE CARE [SUGAWARA KOUSHI X READER]
[SUMMARY] sugawara helps you destress [PRONOUNS] she/her [GENRE] fluff [POV] second person [WORD COUNT] 964 [CONTENT] sugawara being the best bf [A/N] THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE REQUEST you have no idea how much it means to me (*´ω`*) AND I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG ;-; I hope you enjoy!!
“I think I’m dying.”
“I also think you’re dying.”
You tossed an unimpressed look his way, pouting at the teasing grin on his lips.
“That’s not what you’re supposed to say.”
Sugawara chuckled and closed the textbook in front of him, shuffling a bit so he was facing you instead of the table. “It’s true. Listen, I’m all for studying, but you’ve been working yourself too hard.”
“Have not.” You huffed, turning away from him to focus on the textbook before you. “Exams are coming up and I need to do well on them.”
“And you will.” Sugawara’s voice was certain, as were his movements as he placed a hand over the page you were reading before gently tugging it away from your grasp. “You’ve been spending all your time either studying or working. When was the last time you had a proper meal?”
You let out a heavy and reluctant sigh, watching as your boyfriend slipped a spare sheet of paper into the textbook to mark your place before closing it.
“When was the last time we went out to eat?”
This time it was his turn to sigh, and his teasing smile turned sympathetic as he gazed at you. “[Name], listen to me. You need to take care of yourself.”
“I’m fine, I need to study-”
“If you don’t ace these exams, then no one will. You’ve been going nonstop for weeks.”
You avoided his eyes. “I’m fine, I promise!”
Sugawara let out another sigh and from the corner of your eye you watched him shake his head. “Well, if you won’t take care of yourself, then I guess I will.”
“Huh?”
Before you had time to question his statement further, Sugawara had gotten to his feet and was tugging you up to do the same, quickly placing his hands on your shoulders and spinning you away from the table you’d been sitting at for hours. “You are incredibly stubborn, you know that?”
“Am not.”
Sugawara laughed at that and grinned before shoving you out of the kitchen and towards the couch. “You may act like and say that you’re fine, but I can feel the tension in your shoulders. You need to de-stress.”
“Do not.”
“And luckily for you, I know the perfect way to do that!”
You yelped as he shoved you (rather unceremoniously) onto the couch. He grinned proudly from his stance above you as you wiggled around in a subconscious attempt to get comfortable, settling his hands on his hips in triumph at your defeat.
“Now you just lay there and look pretty and I’m going to be right back. Don’t you dare get up from that spot– I’ll know.”
“Koushi, what are you-”
“Put something on TV or pull up a game; my Switch should still be connected.” He grabbed the remotes and shoved them into your hands before leaning down and planting a chaste kiss on your forehead. “Remember: no moving from this spot.”
“You’re a menace, you know that?”
“Be back soon!” He said with a laugh, prancing out the door before you had another chance to argue.
Resigned to your fate, and appreciating the softness of the couch on your aching back (hunching over while reading was probably not the best idea), you snuggled further into the cushions and turned on the television, your eyes drifting closed after only a couple of minutes.
...
The sound of rustling plastic woke you from your spontaneous nap.
“Koushi?” You mumbled, sleep thick in your throat and slurring your speech. You rose into a sitting position and rubbed at your eyes, trying to rid them of their blurriness.
Once you were able to fully comprehend your surroundings, you spotted your partner crouching down by the kotatsu and looking rather sheepish with his hands in one of the many plastic shopping bags that littered the surface.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up. You’re cute when you sleep, you know?”
“You always say that.” You grumbled, stifling a yawn. “I didn’t hear you come in.”
“Seems like all of my sneakiness was spent on that feat.” He chuckled, pulling a box of takeout from the bag. His nose was still red from the time he’d spent outside, and if you focused you could feel the chill from the winter winds radiating off of him.
“What’d you get?” You swung your legs over the edge of the couch, sliding to the floor to waddle closer to the kotatsu and slip your legs under the cover.
“Your favorites. Thought it’d be a nice surprise and reward for all of your hard work.” Sugawara beamed, continuing to reveal box after box until there was a pile of discarded plastic bags on the floor and the surface before you was overflowing with your favorite foods and drink. “And a chance for you to actually eat something and take a break.”
Your heart swelled. “Thank you.” You smile, almost shyly, at him. “You’re too sweet.”
“Nah.” Sugawara dismissed your claim, handing you a pair of chopsticks he seemed to pull out of the ether. “I’d say I’m the perfect amount of sweetness.”
You couldn’t stop the laughter from escaping your lips, Sugawara slipping under the kotatsu as well and bumping his legs against yours in a playful manner.
“Besides, you’d do the same for me.” He shrugged, opening the box closest to him. “Not that you’d ever have to, of course, because I’m able to properly balance my work, studies, and self-care… unlike some people.” You kicked him. “Ow.”
“Shut up.” You stuck your tongue out at him, before following his movements and opening a few of the boxes before you.
“Thank you for the meal.” You both said in unison, and with another heartfelt smile sent his way, you began to eat.

A personal headcannon of mine is that after Marineford Luffy still had trace amounts of poison in his system and Law couldn't do much about it so Luffy would hallucinate that Ace was somewhere on Polar Tang or on Boa's Island
REAL I love that headcanon. At the corner of Luffy's eye he'd think he'd see Ace's figure but he's really not there, In places where he's alone I think he'd also see him standing but he's too far away and his face is too dark to see... I think it's not only Ace he'd hallucinate actually, maybe Sabo too sometimes? he'd probably feel guilty being the only one alive amongst the three of them (He doesn't know yet that Sabo is alive)

DOPPIO [DRACULE MIHAWK X READER]
[SUMMARY] you're working the closing shift when a very interesting individual with even more interesting eyes appears. [PRONOUNS] gender neutral [GENRE] modern + coffee shop au [POV] second person [WORD COUNT] 2044 [CONTENT] first meetings | very very slight crack humor | possibly somewhat ooc mihawk [A/N] belongs to this one shot collection. this got way out of hand
The sky outside was dark, the sun long having kissed the horizon goodbye. You couldn’t see the stars through the windows, but you knew they were shining, bright and brilliant, constellations dotting the inky purple like waypoints on a map.
You didn’t work the closing shift often, but when you did, you couldn’t help but find yourself gazing through the panes of glass, the steady drone of the AC and humming of the espresso machine nearly lulling you to sleep. You could understand why Zoro fell asleep so often in moments like that, though you also knew he could fall asleep pretty much anywhere, any time.
Speaking of Zoro, the green haired man was not happy. He was grumbling to himself, hissing out insults directed at your boss and redheaded assistant manager while he wiped down the counters.
“Nami… debt… one time!... curly-brows… simp…”
You couldn’t make out everything he was saying, but from what he’d told you upon entering the cafe at the start of his shift, he owed Nami some inordinate amount of money and offered to pick up a shift for her to get her to decrease the interest rate. She'd chosen that night to swap shifts, and Zoro was pissed at Sanji because he had agreed to the shift change even though he knew Zoro had something going on that evening.
Luckily –or perhaps unluckily– the flow of customers had slowed to a mere trickle, only a handful of people entering in the past few hours. You still had an hour and a half before you could begin closing preparations, and the seconds seemed to tick by in slow motion. You’d quickly discovered that when you were less busy, time moved more slowly.
Something Zoro was taking it upon himself to curse about.
“We could play twenty questions?” You offered, sipping on your drink and praying that the caffeine would help keep you awake. “Eye-spy? I think there’s Uno in the back.”
Zoro shot you a glare. “I don’t want to play games, [Name], I want to go to my lesson.”
“Kendo, right?” You took another sip, eyeing the empty tables and chairs. “Are the lessons normally scheduled this late?”
“They’re private lessons.” He offered, as though that were an acceptable answer to your question. It wasn’t, so you motioned for him to elaborate. “I still have to pay him for the lesson even if I don’t make it. And they’re not cheap.”
“I thought Usopp said you won them?” You tilted your head to the side, curious. “Something about you getting lost and some travel agent–”
“I won the first five lessons. He said if I wanted to continue, I had to pay.” Zoro sighed. “I have to travel to Kuraigana to take them.”
“Really?” Your eyes widened. “I didn’t know that. So you have to pay a train fare, too? On top of the lessons?”
“It’s worth it.” Zoro nodded, clenching his fist and looking at the clock with a set jaw. “He’s the greatest swordsman in the world. If I want to beat him one day, I need to learn from him.”
You pursed your lips and nodded, slightly taken aback by the passion in his voice. “O-kay. Sounds… good.” You took another sip, brows furrowing as you tried to remember if you’d ever been that passionate about something. “Oh, hey, I have a friend that lived in Kuraigana for a bit. Maybe you ran into her? Pink hair, big eyes, her name’s Perona. Kind of gothic lolita-meets-punk vibes.” Zoro groaned and you grinned. “Kuraigana’s tiny, so I figured you two must have bumped into each other at some point.”
“Unfortunately.” Zoro ran a hand over his face and sighed. “I’m gonna go work on the dishes.” He turned and made his way to the back, you humming in confirmation as you watched him go. You finished off your drink and tossed the empty cup into a trashcan, wiping your hands on your apron as you looked around for something to do. The counters had been wiped, windows cleaned, espresso machine wiped down– maybe you could do a quick sweep of the dining area?
The bells above the door chimed, offering you the solution to your problem. Finally, something to do.
“Welcome to the Thousand Sunny, how can I help you?” You spoke before you really registered the person who’d entered, mouth and mind working on autopilot. As soon as the words left your mouth, though, you felt yourself freeze. It was like this guy had stepped out of a different universe; his billowy white shirt, dark satin slacks, deep red jacket, crucifix necklace, pale skin, and slicked black hair reminding you of a vampire.
He met your gaze with intense yellow eyes, and in that moment you felt like he could see through you. “Good evening.” He spoke, tone level and voice velvety. “I’d like a doppio, please.”
“Sure thing.” You choked out, keying in the order. “Anything else for you, sir?”
“Mihawk.” He corrected. “And no, that’ll be all. To go, as well, please.” The mysterious man pulled out a slick black wallet.
“Mihawk.” You nodded, tasting his name on your tongue. “Cash or card?”
“Cash.” You nodded again and told him the total. He pulled out several crisp bills and handed them to you, never taking his eyes away from your own. You ducked your head, accepting the bills and counting them before putting them in the till. You withdrew the change and shyly handed it over, feeling like a mouse being hunted by a hawk.
Mihawk took the change from you and slipped it into the tip jar, still not looking away. You mumbled out a quiet “thank you” and grabbed a small cup, writing his name and order on it despite there not being any other drinks to make or customers in the store. You shuffled over to the espresso machine, putting the cup to the side as you refilled the espresso grinder and switched it on, the blades whirring to life as you input the shot size. You felt his gaze remain on you, watching your every movement. You’d never felt so observed, so watched, as though you were the only thing of importance in the room.
Taking the portafilter in hand, you slipped it into the espresso machine and placed the cup under the spigot, pressing a button to get it to begin dripping. Once finished, you took the cup and slipped a lid on, handing it to Mihawk, who had remained by the register.
“Here you are. Would you like your receipt?”
“No, that’s alright.” He took a tentative sip of the drink, eyebrows raising a miniscule amount.
“Is everything okay?” You asked, concerned that he didn’t like it.
“Ah, yes. I was just surprised by how high quality the espresso was.”
You let out a weak chuckle. “Yeah, the owner puts a lot of care and thought into choosing which stores to buy our products and ingredients from.”
Mihawk hummed and took another sip. “Is Zoro working tonight?”
“Zoro?” Your brows furrowed. How did this guy know Zoro? You knew you shouldn’t tell random customers which of your coworkers were or weren't working a particular shift, but you found yourself answering before you could stop. “He’s in the back.”
“Would you mind fetching him for me?”
As thought you were in some sort of trance, you nodded and turned, making your way to the back. You slipped past the door and walked over to where Zoro was angrily finishing up the dishes, the front of his shirt soaked through. Upon your approach he turned to you and cocked an eyebrow.
“What’s up?”
“Some guy’s in the front asking for you.” You blinked and shook your head, trying to get the feeling of his stare off of you. “Said his name was Mihawk?”
You watched as Zoro’s un-scarred eye widened in surprise, the man jumping away from the sink and heading to the front with heavy strides. Left alone in the back, completely and utterly confused by the turn of events, you silently followed, albeit at a much slower pace.
By the time you pushed your way back to the bar, Zoro and Mihawk were in deep conversation, away from the register. You meandered over to the espresso machine and pulled the portafilter, dumping the espresso puck in the trash and rinsing it off in the sink.
As Zoro and Mihawk talked, you took the opportunity to examine the man a bit more. He had a regal sort of air to him, and his age was almost totally ambiguous. Most definitely older than you, but you couldn’t pin an age on him if you tried. He looked like he should be at an expensive restaurant, or some niche, hidden, upscale coffee shop with beans imported from places you couldn’t pronounce; certainly not the Thousand Sunny.
You couldn’t deny that he was attractive. If you were just a bit more confident, you might have tried talking with him a bit more, maybe even written your phone number on his cup or asked him if he was busy on your next day off. But alas, you’d been far too intimidated by the crisp lines of his outfit and his sharp, yellow eyes. You’d have to settle for asking Zoro about who this guy was, and perhaps you could daydream about him should he decide to never show his face in the cafe after this.
Before you knew it he was looking at you again, eyes shifting from Zoro’s to yours and freezing you in your spot. You felt your breath hitch in your chest, having been caught staring. Oh god, he totally thought you were weird, now.
Zoro said something and turned, sending you a curious glance before returning to the back, most likely to continue with the dishes. He didn’t seem upset– if anything, he looked relieved, slightly more relaxed than he had throughout his entire shift.
“Thank you, [Name], for the coffee.” Mihawk was suddenly back at the register, a thin smile on his handsome face. You spluttered, unsure of how he’d known your name, until you remembered the name tag pinned to your apron. “It was much better than I’d expected. I’ll have to come by more often.”
“I– well, we’d love to serve you again.” You caught yourself before you accidentally embarrassed yourself further. “May I ask how you know Zoro?” You couldn’t stop yourself from prying, far too impatient to wait until he left and you could corner your coworker for details.
Mihawk chuckled, a sound you felt you could get used to hearing. “He’s my student.”
It took a couple minutes for your brain to process what he said, but when it finally did, you couldn’t keep your jaw from dropping. “You’re the greatest swordsman in the world?”
A smirk crawled its way to his lips. “Is that what he called me?” You tried to find something to say, something that could excuse your outburst, but he beat you to it. “I hear you’re friends with that ghost girl.” Ghost girl? Ah, he must mean Perona.
You nodded. “We haven’t talked for a while, though.”
Mihawk hummed. “She assisted me with my garden while she stayed in Kuraigana. I remember her mentioning a barista friend with an uncanny ability to make even the worst espresso beans taste good.” You flushed and looked away.
“I’m flattered.” You cleared your throat and rubbed the back of your neck. “But really, Sanji is super picky when it comes to espresso and coffee beans…” You trailed off, glancing back up to find Mihawk staring at you with an amused glint in his eyes.
“We’ll have to see about that.” He spoke smoothly, utterly confident in his determination that you were the reason the espresso tasted as good as it did. “Until next time, [Name].”
“Have a good night.” You called as he exited, the bells ringing above the door to signal his departure. You released a breath you didn’t know you’d been holding and leaned against the counter.
The thought of interrogating Zoro crossed your mind, but you could do that later.
For now, all you could focus on was the lingering feeling of his eyes on your body.

LAVENDER LEMONADE [KOBY X READER]
[SUMMARY] you've had a crush on the koby for the longest time, but he only ever seems interested in talking to your coworker, luffy. you're not sure why the two seem to be engaged in some sort of secret conversation this time around, though. [PRONOUNS] gender neutral [GENRE] modern + coffee shop au [POV] second person [WORD COUNT] 2321 [CONTENT] fluff | assumed one-sided affection | awkward confessions | somewhat crack humor | joking about murder & suicide (in the gen z/millennial way) [A/N] belongs to this one shot collection. honestly did not intend for it to be as long as it is but I apparently have a lot of feelings for koby
Smooth jazz filtered through the air, mixing in perfectly with the lax attitude of the cafe and the light ringing of the bells above the door.
You liked Sunday afternoons. More specifically, you liked Sunday afternoons in late April to early June. Spring was in full swing, if not beginning to dip into summer, and the light blue sky and quiet breeze exuded an air of calmness into your usually quite hectic life.
Regardless of the season, though, Sunday afternoons were always a welcome respite; the morning rush finished with and the end of the week close on your heels. Suffice it to say, there were many things you liked about Sunday afternoons, but if you had to pick a favorite…
Well, it wasn’t a hard decision.
“Hey, [Name]-san!” Koby greeted you, grinning ear-to-ear. You beamed, heart skipping a beat at his kind eyes. “It’s good to see you, as always.”
“I told you not to call me that, just [Name] is fine! But yeah, you too, Koby.” You looked at the blond, sunglasses-wearing man (why he insisted on wearing them indoors, you would never know) next to him. “And you, Helmeppo.” Just once, once you wished Koby would show up to the cafe without Helmeppo. Not that you didn’t like the guy– he was fine. It’d just be easier to ask for Koby’s number without him there, embarrassment eating you alive slowly.
The blond returned your polite greeting just before Koby spoke again. “Is Luffy-san working today?”
And there it was, the real reason Koby insisted on coming to the cafe every Sunday: Luffy. You knew Koby frequented the cafe on other days as well, though Sundays were the day he always visited, without fail. You weren't a hundred percent sure why, considering Luffy didn't always work on Sundays, but you figured that it had to do with his schedule. It would have been stupid for you to even entertain the idea that Koby was a regular at the cafe because of you, especially since he always asked for your coworker if he didn’t spot him working the register. Plus, you knew he’d been a regular long before you began working at the Thousand Sunny, but still. You could pretend, couldn’t you?
No, of course not, not when he was looking at you so expectantly.
At first you’d wondered if Koby had a crush on Luffy, but then Nami informed you that it was more hero-worship than anything else. Luffy had apparently gotten Koby out of a really bad job and had somewhat indirectly connected him to his grandfather, who took him and Helmeppo under his wing.
It made sense, honestly, for Koby to look at Luffy with such admiration. You couldn’t blame him.
It still stung a little, though.
“Yeah, he’s just in the back bugging Sanji. I’ll go get him for you.” Your smile turned a little sad, despite your best efforts, and without waiting for a response you headed to the back, making your way to the kitchen. Sanji was fending off a rabid Luffy, yelling at him to get back to work and stop pestering him for the meat he was in the process of cooking.
“Luffy!” You called, grabbing both his and Sanji’s attention. “Koby’s looking for you.”
Your interruption allowed Luffy to snake his weirdly flexible arm past Sanji’s block and snag the meat right off the pan, tossing it in his mouth before the cook had a chance to stop him. “Koby!” Luffy cheered through a mouth full of food, launching himself past you to explode through the door. You offered Sanji a sympathetic shrug and ignored the way his expression went from aggravated to concerned, quickly following your coworker back to the front.
Luffy was perched on the counter, already engrossed in a conversation with his visitor, poor Helmeppo trying to get a word in when he could between the two’s rapid chatter. With a quiet sigh you input their regular order into the register and applied the friends and family discount, like you always did, and prepped it for their usual form of payment. Helmeppo noticed, like he always did, and paid as you went to work making their drinks.
A medium iced chai for Helmeppo, and a medium lavender lemonade for Koby. Sweet and pretty, just like him.
You silently made the drinks, the receipt rolling from the machine after the payment had been processed. By the time you turned back to the counter with the completed order, Luffy and Koby had disappeared, though you were quick to spot them in the far corner of the cafe. It looked like Koby was desperately urging Luffy to lower his voice, which you knew would be a losing battle. Despite how loud Luffy was, you couldn’t really make out what they were saying, the ambient noise doing just enough to drown out their words.
“Thanks, [Name].” Helmeppo nodded appreciatively, taking his drink from you while you placed Koby’s on the counter.
With no customers in line or looking to be in need of assistance, you leaned against the counter and folded your arms across your chest, nodding at the two men.
“What’s all that about?”
Helmeppo flinched, which, granted, was a bit odd, but you let it slide; you didn’t often talk directly to the guy, so it made sense that he’d be surprised by your words.
“Koby had something he wanted to ask Luffy-san about.”
“Really?” You frowned.
“Yeah. Just wanted some advice.” Helmeppo took a sip of his drink.
Your frown deepened. “Advice? What for?”
You got a shrug in response, which caused your lips to twist into a pout. You knew it wasn’t any of your business, but you honestly could not think of a single subject anyone would want to go to Luffy to for advice. He was a better soundboard for spontaneous decisions, always willing to support you if you wanted a quick adventure or had an idea you were just a bit too nervous to try on your own.
Faster than you thought possible, Luffy darted away from Koby, jumping over the counter and leaping into the back. You watched with wide eyes, continuously confused by his insistence of never entering or exiting the coffee bar in a normal way.
Glancing back to Koby, you saw that he had gone strangely pale, wide eyes flickering to yours for just a moment. He looked… nervous?
“Hey! Luffy, what are you-”
And then suddenly Luffy and Nami appeared, the former grasping the latter’s hand in a tight grip as he tugged her past the coffee bar and out to the cafe proper, ignoring the annoyed and disgruntled looks of the patrons who, honestly, should have been used to his antics by then.
Luffy dragged Nami to where Koby stood, and then the three began talking. Koby and Nami kept their voices low while Nami slapped a hand over Luffy’s mouth, effectively muffling his words.
Taking a moment to process what just happened, you eventually sighed and pulled yourself away from the counter, deciding it’d be best to just focus on tidying up rather than focus on whatever that was.
Well, at least with Nami present, Koby would hopefully be able to get some decent advice.
Helmeppo remained by the counter, sipping on his drink as he shifted his attention between his phone and the trio in the corner. Fine by you, you weren’t necessarily in the mood for chatting, anyways.
By the time you’d relegated yourself to wiping down the counters, the three had begun to disperse. Luffy had his signature, extremely large grin taking up most of his face, Nami was looking at you with a slight smirk and sparkle in her eyes, and Koby looked like he wanted to die.
At that point you weren’t sure you even wanted to know what had been discussed.
Luffy opened his mouth, but Nami quickly yanked him into the back before he could say anything. Helmeppo and Koby exchanged a few quiet words before the blond straight up left, nodding at you before he swiftly exited the cafe, effectively leaving you and Koby all alone.
“I’m scared to ask, but what was all that about?” You questioned after a minute, tilting your head to the side. “Helmeppo said you wanted to ask Luffy for some advice, which probably isn't necessarily the best idea, unless you were wanting encouragement to just go for whatever–”
“Will you go on a date with me?”
You stopped. Your jaw dropped, all words and thoughts disappearing from your mind in rapid succession. The world stopped spinning, and you’re pretty sure your heart stopped beating for a second there, too.
“Come again?”
Koby looked positively terrified, but you saw his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed and seemed to muster his confidence. “I’m asking if you’d like to go on a date with me, [Name]-san.”
“Why?” You spluttered out, unable to stop yourself. God, just say yes! Why are you like this?
His face was impossibly red, but he maintained eye contact. “I’ve liked you for a while now, ever since I saw you on that first Sunday we met. I- I thought you were incredibly beautiful, but I didn’t know if you’d ever feel the same way.” His jaw clenched. “Luffy’s been telling me to just tell you, that you liked me too, but I didn’t believe him.”
Luffy knew? Luffy told Koby that you liked him? Luffy had somehow managed to keep his mouth shut about the entire thing for God knows how long?
Oh, you were going to kill him. You were going to ring his rubber-like neck–
“It wasn’t until he brought Nami-san out to confirm that you felt the same way that I was able to build up the courage to ask.”
Oh my God, you were going to kill not just one, but two coworkers.
Sorry, Sanji. It had to be done.
“B- but if they were lying, and just messing with me, I- I completely understand!” Your eyes refocused, spotting the panic quickly enveloping his demeanor. “I- I’m sorry for bothering you, I’ll never talk to you again if you don’t want me to, I’m so sorry–”
He must have taken your silence as rejection. Your heart twisted in your chest, beating wildly against your ribcage.
“Oh my God, no! No!” You interrupted him, waving your hands in the air and shaking your head enthusiastically. “No! Koby, no! I’m sorry, I was thinking about how I was going to kill Luffy and Nami, that’s all!” You cringed as the words left your mouth. Just how badly could you fumble this opportunity? “N- not because they lied to you or anything! They didn’t! That’s why I have to kill them. I can’t believe they ratted on me–”
“Wait, so you really do like me too?” His words stopped you dead in your tracks, the smallest hint of hope audible to your ears. You took the moment to refocus, taking in the way the panic had begun to ebb away from his features. He was looking at you with a softness that made your knees weak, the corners of his lips twitching into a faint smile.
“Koby, I– yes.” I have been hopelessly crushing on you since we met. “Yes, I like you too, and yes, I’d love to go on a date with you.”
It felt like you were back in high school, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to care.
The smile Koby directed at you was a reward in and of itself. You’d never seen him so happy, so relieved; you wanted to make him smile like that all the time.
He laughed, light and pleasant and wonderful. “I’m so glad. Thank you, [Name]-san–”
“Wait.” You held up a finger, stopping him in his tracks. His eyes widened. “I will go on a date with you, but only on one condition.”
You felt a little bad, seeing the way he quickly reverted to the meek, nervous Koby from before. “O- okay?”
“You have to stop calling me [Name]-san.”
It took a second, but he smiled and laughed again, eventually nodding. “Fine, I suppose that’s fair.” And there he was again, the confident, happy Koby you admired oh so much. “When does your shift end?”
“In about three hours.” You glanced at the clock, unable to stop the frown from appearing on your lips.
“Perfect! I have some errands I need to run, but would you like to get dinner with me once you're off?”
You looked back at him, cocking an eyebrow. “Just the two of us? No Helmeppo?”
He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head bashfully. “No Helmeppo.”
“Then yes, I would love that. But, uh, give me some time to get changed and ready and all that, first. Meet back here in about three and a half hours?”
“Sounds good.” He looked so happy, so pleased with himself and your response. You couldn’t help but attempt to match the brightness of his smile. “I’ll see you then, [Name].” The way he said your name without the honorific made you shiver. “Thanks for the drink.” He grabbed the long-forgotten lemonade and offered you a little wave, one which you happily returned.
“Any time. See you in a bit.”
With one last satisfied nod, Koby exited the cafe. You watched through the windows as Helmeppo attacked, throwing an arm around his friend’s shoulders, mouth moving a mile a minute. You flushed, the events of the past few minutes finally catching up to you, and you suddenly became aware that you were in public.
That entire exchange had been in public.
You wanted to crawl into a hole.
“Yay! I knew everything would turn out okay!” Luffy’s voice appeared from behind you.
Ah, yes. Right. Okay, new plan: murder Luffy and Nami, and then yourself.
But not until after your date.

MACCHIATO [KILLER X READER]
[SUMMARY] killer drops by on one of his regular visits to the cafe, though this time he comes with a question. [PRONOUNS] gender neutral [GENRE] modern + coffee shop au [POV] second person [WORD COUNT] 1129 [CONTENT] fluff | light flirting (?) [A/N] belongs to this one shot collection
“Can I get a large macchiato with whipped cream?”
The somewhat odd order caused you to look up from your screen, a smile flashing to your lips upon spotting the man before you. “Morning, Killer! Hot or iced?”
“Hot, please. With a straw.”
You hummed and tapped on the screen. “Anything else?”
“I’m here to pick up an order, too.”
You nodded and glanced down at the notepad that sat off to the side, the list of orders needing to be picked up and their recipients’ names written in Sanji’s elegant handwriting.
Eyes narrowing you leaned down to get a better look, a slight frown tugging at your features. “I don’t see your name on here, let me go ask Sa-”
“No need, [Name]-chan!” Sanji’s boisterous voice interrupted you, drawing your attention from the paper. He had pushed his way into the coffee bar from the back, a large, pristine white box in his arms and cigarette in his mouth. “I forgot to write it down, that’s all.”
You let out a quiet sigh in relief, turning back to smile at Killer. “The regular?”
“Same as always.” He nodded. Although you couldn’t see his mouth due to the blue and white striped medical-style mask covering the lower half of his face –nor his eyes, thanks to his incredibly soft-looking and bushy blond bangs– you knew he was returning your smile. “And in return…” He swung the military-esque backpack from his back and dug around in it, eventually pulling out three bags of different kinds of pasta.
Sanji excitedly took them from him, looking at the names of the pasta before nodding with a pleased hum. “Pleasure doing business with you, as always.”
“Likewise.” Killer nodded, and Sanji hurriedly made his way back to the kitchen, probably to get started on some sort of spontaneous pasta dish you knew would be absolutely delicious.
You finalized the order and prepared it for payment, flipping the screen around for him to see the total. “Cash or card?”
“Cash.” He shouldered his bag and pulled his wallet from one of the back pockets of his jeans, leafing through it for a moment and then pulling out a wad of bills. He glanced at the screen and then stopped, hand with the money freezing over the counter. “Ah, [Name], I think you put the order in wrong. It’s showing up as less than usual.”
You tried your best to hide the playful smile that begged to be seen, and focused on writing his order on a cup. “Oh, no, I just applied the friends and family discount. No worries.”
You could sense him frown. “There’s no need for that.”
Despite your attempts, you couldn’t stop yourself from snorting in amusement. “I know, but I want to. You’re a friend, aren’t you?” You looked up from beneath your lashes and smiled, sweet and demure.
It was obvious to everyone except Killer that you’d developed some sort of feelings for the guy. Despite only working at the cafe for a little over a month, you had easily integrated yourself into the group and had gotten to know all of the regulars (and semi-irregulars, too) and began building what you would call friendships with most of them. Killer, in particular, had struck your interests, the pasta shop owner arriving every Monday and Wednesday at nine forty-five in the morning without fail to pick up a drink and sometimes his order of cannoli for the store. He and Sanji had created some sort of barter-and-trade system, with Killer supplying the fellow blond with gourmet pasta noodles in exchange for the pastries.
You’d asked Robin to make sure you were scheduled for morning shifts on Mondays and Wednesdays after figuring out the schedule, much to the teasing of your coworkers and Sanji’s heartbreak.
“Hm, I suppose so.” There was a hint of hesitancy in his voice, but you simply continued to smile and took his payment, completing the transaction and handing him back his change. He cleared his throat and shoved the bills into the tip jar. “Is it just you today?”
You chuckled and shook your head, making your way over to the espresso machine, Killer following from his side of the counter. “No, it’s just been slow today so Usopp took his lunch early. He’s in the back for another, hm, ten minutes or so.” Your eyes flickered to the front door and then throughout the cafe, pleased at the small number of customers happily enjoying their drinks and pastries at the small tables.
“Have you taken your lunch yet?” He asked as you poured the milk into the frothing pitcher.
You shook your head and began prepping the espresso. “Not yet. I was going to take it after Usopp got back.”
“Would you…” He cleared his throat and you paused, lifting a brow as your hand hovered over the machine. “Would it be alright if I joined you for your lunch?”
Well, that you weren’t expecting.
It took a minute for his words to register, but when they did your expression shifted to the brightest and biggest smile you’ve ever conjured. “I’d love that.”
Again, despite being unable to see his expression, you knew he was smiling.
You pressed the button to pull the shot and began steaming the milk, feeling Killer’s eyes on you the whole time. Your heart fluttered rapidly in your chest, heat rushing up your neck to color your cheeks and the tips of your ears. You knew you must look like a flustered mess, but that could be considered part of your charm, right?
You topped off the drink with the requested whipped cream and popped on the lid, grabbing a straw and sliding both over to the masked man who easily managed to hold both the box of cannoli and the drink.
“Thanks, [Name].”
“Any time.” You beamed.
“I’ll, uh, wait for you at one of the tables.” He grunted, awkwardly nodding to one of the empty spots.
“Okay, I’ll head over as soon as Usopp comes back.” You rocked back on your heels, suddenly shy. “Can I get you anything to munch on, in the meantime?”
“No, that’s alright.” He shook his head. “I’m more than happy to wait.”
Another wave of heat rushed up your neck. “O- okay. Well, I’ll be over in a bit, then.”
Killer said nothing else and simply nodded, steadily making his way over to the table you knew was pushed into the farthest back corner, almost completely hidden from view from the bar.
Unable to contain your giddy smile, you went about cleaning off the steam wand and rinsing out the pitcher and shot glass used to collect the espresso, attempting to keep yourself busy until Usopp got back.
Ten minutes couldn’t go by fast enough.
