It is okay to cry.
Messy tears or soft tears. It is okay.
No snot or all the snot. That’s okay.
Sometimes... things get to be too much and you can’t stop it.
It’s natural and it’s healthy.
Things don’t have to be hard for you to cry.
Your life can be going fine and you just feel the urge.
That’s okay.
Things can be going absolutely awfully and you only shed a couple tears.
That’s okay.
Never let anybody tell you that you aren’t allowed to cry or express emotion.

It’s a little odd but I think it’s healthy.
Each morning for the past week we’ve seen the sun come up.
Watching the fierce oranges and reds fade into soft blues and pale pinks, the cool tones making the fresh snow seem so much brighter.
So much quieter.
So much softer.
Each morning we’ve gotten our tea and made little sketches in our books.
Wondering how we got to this point in our life.
But there’s the healthy part:
We are alive.
We are breathing.
And we will see the sunset tonight.
And we will see the sunrise again.

I miss the ocean. When it rains in this town, my heart fills up because it smells so similar.
I miss the sunsets on the horizon. When the fields are cleared and you can see for miles, I feel like I can breath again.
I miss the sand between my toes as I listen to the waves approach, ready for them to crash against my legs.
I miss my home.

Have you eaten today?

If you said no, let’s change that.
Go drink some water and eat something. Even if it’s just some bread with cheese or a couple of grapes.
If you can’t go outside, open up a window and breathe deeply for a few minutes.
If you can go outside, walk out and stretch your arms out as far as you can. Look up at the sky and close your eyes. Listen to the world around you and breathe.
Text a friend or write a journal entry. Start a snap streak with someone. Talk to your cat (or your fish). If there’s nobody you want to talk to, send me a message. Humans need communication.
