Hi there, my name is Jackson! I go by He/Him, am an Aquarius, a Minor, and Asexual! I am also from Portugal 🇵🇹
My main hyperfixations/interests are: Manga and Anime, particularly Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach, and am also a proud Pyrocynical fan. Feel free to hmu and interact with me as much as you want!
Hey y'all! Howzitgoin? So i decided to make this post to explain the many changes that have been made since my initial post regarding the series. To put it simply: The current outline i have for Wonderbound is quite different from my initial pitch back in December.
The planet of Golfraeym will no longer exist, and the switching from school life to magic life aspect will no longer be a thing. Instead, the series will take place in the distant future, somewhere around 2045, and there is an organization that gathers and trains strong people together that Eddie, Akio and Marta will be part of, and there is a much, MUCH bigger focus on the sci fi aspects in terms of world-building (there's still plenty of fantasy stuff, but the setting itself is mostly sci-fi).
Other than that, everything else is mostly the same, characters, races, power system, etc. I hope that you all will enjoy this new, more refined and well thought out outline i have for Wonderbound, and i hope you look forward to exploring this world with me.
Sometimes i wish i could have this kind of self esteem, so i'll reblog this as a reminder and see if it works out
your daily reminder that you deserve good things. you deserve to feel a warm blanket around you when it's cold. you deserve to have a delicious warm soup while it rains. you deserve to be held and loved.
you deserve to be loved, to feel joy and to be happy. never let anyone else tell you otherwise.
What time period will the story be set in? And how technology advanced are both worlds?
(this project looks super exciting, good luck Jack!)
A good question indeed! Now in terms of the regular planet Earth, i'm planning to have it set somewhere around 2017-2018. As for Golfraeym, i haven't QUITE figured out how time works there, but what i CAN tell you is that my current plan is for Golfraeym to mainly inspired by 11th-12th century Earth (more specifically 1020-1147).
As for how technologically advanced they are, the technology level in Golfraeym is kind of all over the place. There's bazookas and modern-ish handguns, trains, planes etc. It's much like the Eberron setting for DnD in the sense that it kind of accommodates typical fantasy elements with some more "advanced" types of technology (you should look into Eberron btw bc it's very much gonna be a big inspiration for Golfraeym).
And as for the other planets in the universe? Well, each planet is different so i can't rly sit here and tell you the current year of every single planet in this universe (and frankly i find that kinda boring so i probably won't bother anyway). And as for technology, generally the technology level for most planets (Earth and Golfraeym included) is measured based using interstellar flight as a kind of "pinnacle", meaning that any and all civilizations that wishes to be considered technologically advanced have the "goal" of possessing advanced interstellar flight. Essentially, the scale used to measure technology starts with no interstellar flight at the very bottom and the more advanced a civilization's level of interstellar flight technology is the more advanced they are (hopefully that wasn't TOO hard to follow)
Keep these asks coming y'all, i'd love to see your excitement!!
Thank you all for the kind words on the last post, this past year has been kicking my ass with school, family, emotions, etc. but hopefully 2024 will be a new start for me and i'll manage to (at least somewhat) turn things around mental health-wise. Thanks to everyone who stuck with me and helped me out through these tough times. I appreciate you all. I really do 😊😊
But anyway, LET'S GET TO THE MAIN EVENT
I have two big announcements regarding future projects:
First, about the Daily Bestiary: I'm just gonna be straightforward here, cause real talk, i've lost pretty much all interest in mythology and folklore, i tried to reignite that passion but after pretty much half a year of having it as an interest, it's just not something i'm into anymore. This is all essentially to say that Daily Bestiary is pretty much dead. I'm thinking of maybe having people send on their own posts and submitting them for me to post (with credit given of course) but that's just an idea for now.
NOW ONTO THE REAL BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
My current interests are general fiction (particularly manga and anime), fantasy and sci fi, as well as character creation and world-building. With this, i've been working on the basis for a fantasy/sci-fi story i've been putting together for a while now. And that story is called:
WONDERBOUND
Wonderbound will center around three teenagers living in NYC: 15 year old Eddie McKlee, 16 year old Akio Murasawa (born and raised in Japan, later moved to the states) and 15 year old Marta da Costa (born and raised in Brazil before later moving to New York). They discover and end up traveling to another planet known as Golfraeym, a magical planet filled with strange creatures, fantastical landscapes and colorful people. They now must spend their every day switching between their regular school life during the day and their duties with the Nozh Ved'my, a division of the legendary organization known as Svyataya Sila, in Golfraeym during the night
On this journey they will discover different planets with their species, cultures, languages and learn the great secrets of a universe full of mystery and wonder
From here on out i'll mostly be sharing details about Wonderbound through not just written posts, but also asks you guys send. There's a lot of stuff that still needs more time in the hoven but feel free to ask away and i'll answer you to the best of my abilities
So ye i hope you're interested in what Wonderbound has to offer and feel free to ask me anything abt, i've been working p hard to put this world together so i hope you are all as interested in hearing about Wonderbound as much as i am in creating it
TW// Suicidal thoughts, mental exhaustion, lack of self worth
Doubt anyone's gonna see this but fuck it i might as well drop this in here
I'm so tired
I'm 15 years old male in 10th grade and i'm just so tired of everything. Tired of doing so much and putting in all the effort i can only to be criticized at the slightest mistake, tired of always trying so hard to be nice to others yet only being noticed when i'm rude or doing something bad or embarrassing, tired of this garbage world filled with wars, pollution, genocide, hunger, poverty, discrimination, disease, etc.
I feel like i'm losing more and more motivation with each and every single day that passes, beit for doing things i like, things i don't like, things i have to do, etc. I'm not particularly angry or sad or scared or frustrated, i guess i'm a little melancholic but overall i'm just exhausted, numb, and, most of all, bitter.
I still feel some amount of joy, but it feels so vain and empty. I eat something delicious, i listen to some music, i watch something funny on YouTube, on TV, etc., then i go right back to my misery. I just want someone to hear me calling for help. I just want to feel like someone actually gives a flying fuck about what i have to say, or wants me to feel better, or even just cares about my existence at all.
I don't even know anymore man. I'm just running out of options. I'm probably just experiencing burnout, which coupled with the fact i live in what is essentially a small village in the middle of nowhere, really just makes me feel hopeless.
I think the most unintentionally pretentious part of me is I genuinely forget that most people do not have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of mythology and folklore. I literally just assume most people know at least the name of every Greek god. My mom and I were watching the Banshees of Inisherin and at the start, she asked "Do you know what a banshee is?" and I was so stunned because it would never occur to me to ask that question because I would never assume the average person doesn't know what a banshee is. The average person knows what a banshee is right. You know what a banshee is right. You know the names of the greek gods right. You know that norse myth where loki fucked the horse right. Right. RIGHT
when your pet comes to you from another room, the preceding moments meant that they were alone somewhere and thought about YOU, an animal brain literally thought about you and came to you to see what you were doing. that’s love, unconditional.
As a dedicated anime fan, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for all the work and efforts you have put into creating the amazing anime that we all love and enjoy. Your creativity, passion, and dedication to your craft are truly inspiring, and your work has brought joy and happiness to millions of people around the world.
Thank you for sharing your incredible talent and creativity with us, and for bringing to life some of the most exciting and emotional stories that we have ever seen.
