So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

I'M A DUMBASS, I COULDN'T THINK OF A PUN NAME FOR KARAKURI'S ENGLISH NAME, BUT MAGNUM MAMMET WAS RIGHT THERE. 🤦
This comic was based on the premise of "what if someone else wound up the Mimic Mammet" (original prompt art made by the lovely Ayasu-san over on Twitter)
Mimic Mammet's JP name is "Karakuri", so I jokingly called it "Karajuri" because the kanji of "Ju/銃" means gun, lmao

so i feel like i should add on to this for a little transparency since i still feel bad about not posting much
very shortly after posting this, i quit my retail job of 3 years for a few reasons, a big one being that i have to take care of my senior parents (since i live with them and all)
my mom had knee surgery a week ago (not replacement thankfully), so the lead up to and aftermath of that has kept me very busy
on top of all that, we're getting the house ready to sell so we can move out of state (my dad is 75 and works full time, he cannot afford to retire in california. i will be moving with them cuz no way i can afford to stay here by myself)
this is the first time i've ever moved in the ~30 years i've been alive, so it's very much A Process™️
so the only stuff i've had time to draw is some quick sketches here and there, and some art for an AU i'm too shy to share as it's very much a silly thing i am using to cope with Life rn (yes it's still cowboys)
plus on top of tumblr selling out to the Data Scrapers, and my computer bot being strong enough to glaze/nightshade my artwork, it's really killed my motivation to post :(
sorry if this is a lot, just thought i'd keep y'all updated
hopefully after we move, things will settle down. maybe.
sorry if i'm not posting a ton of art i have been drawing a lot of stuff, make no mistake! but my anxiety is worsening my adhd and making it so i can't stay on one project for too long, so nothing is getting finished hahah
also like.... some of the stuff i'm drawing i just.... don't wanna post. sorry, that's just how it goes lol

RE: Tumblr selling data to GenAI companies. (prev reblog.)
At this point I'm truly wondering what to do, really. (Glaze your art and so on, sure) But even the words we write, our personal thoughts, asks, everything is getting fed into these fucking machines from any site available. "Make your own page!" - Services like Squarespace, which are what I and most of my peers use, have sneakily added the option to allow third-party crawlers to harvest data. And portfolio websites are not social media. I want to interact and I have to reach clients.
Are we reaching the point where we have to post only previews and send finished art via Newsletters or post behind paywalls? Print it out and send a pigeon to our followers' homes?
I'm so fucking tired. So angry.
I've been an artist through life-threatening depression, through working and studying full time, through moving house and country, through the pandemic.
And this? This might just be what breaks me.
