monika loved you and as much as she wished you did, you didnt- and she knew this. it was hard for her to move on and accept this fact, holding onto every bit of your affection as much as she can.

but she knew she’d have to let you go eventually, she just didnt want to accept it. she tried everything to impress you and make you hers but nothing worked.

it wasnt until you got with sayori, she realized she had to let you go and move on. shes finally accepted what happened, finally letting you go and be free.

putting her phone near the piano, she hit record. she was going to record herself playing the song she wrote for you. at first she went to send it to you, before removing the file and deciding not to. she plugged in her headphones into her phone, listening to the video she just recorded as she walking to the club room.

"it's okay, i'm here."

fluffy nightowl x touch-starved!reader (solely because keijou asked)

warnings: it's not direct but it is implied that reader has a negative past, teeth-rottening fluff

"come in!" you yelled. nightowl's classes had just ended, and he was enthusiastically skipping into his (but at this point, you own it too) school dorm.

he leapt on the bed that you were on and immediately gave you a sweet peck on the lips. "wh—" you asked. his arms wrapped around your torso.

"i— what're you doing.." you muttered quietly. "hugging you, duh." you felt his hand lightly rub circles on your back. "why? i don't— i don't deserve the hug.." he quickly pulled away and looked you in the eye, hands on your shoulders.

"excuse me? take that back, like, right now. you deserve everything, okay? don't— don't make yourself feel like you have to earn my— my, shit, my affection. okay?" he said.

he pulled you in once more and you, again, felt his hand rub your back in an up-and-down motion. your nose warmed up and you heard yourself sniffle before burying your head into nightowl's shirt. your eyes began to water, and slowly, the first tear dropped down.

soon after, it all spilled out. you were audibly sobbing into his shoulder as he whispered sweet things in your ear. "shh, don't worry, you're okay. i'm here. it's okay, i'm right here, alright? you're gonna be fine."

you pulled away and sniffled before scratching your nose with your finger. "thank you. for— for this. i— i— i love you. god, i'm stuttering so much." you ended the sentence with a sweet giggle.

"yeah, yeah, no, no problem. alright? i.. i love you too." he smiled. nightowl quickly hugged you again and spooned you for the rest of the night.

it was late at night. most of mondstadt was sound asleep, cold air came in through your windows and breezed through your hair as you were held by your alcoholic lover. you were tired, ready for your brain to shut off. it was quiet. you could only hear the wind and the soft humming of your boyfriend venti.

you felt your eyelids getting heavy, struggling to stay open. you tried to stay awake, wanting to hear your beloved venti hum you more lullabies. you tried so hard but you still fell asleep.

your head was burried into ventis shoulder as you two layed on your sides, facing eachother. venti ran his fingers through your hair, continuing to hum you calming lullabies despite you already falling asleep.

it was a great way to end the day, listening to the soft hums of your boyfriend while feeling the cool late night breeze from the windows.
