Travelling with Din Djarin HCs

It’s almost like you’re always travelling with him because of how much you move around (bounties, work, you know the drill)

But for you two, and the kid as well, ‘travelling’ is much different than just going around for work’s sake

As much as he loves his job, Din finds little to no enjoyment visiting different planets just for his work, especially since the planets are generally pretty dangerous and there’s not much for you and Grogu to do, meaning you guys usually just stay on the ship until Din gets back

He certainly doesn’t view it as travelling, because he’d much rather do it all with you and to him, to travel is to actually enjoy your experience, rather than to have a one track mind and set goal: get the bounty

You and Din wouldn’t really plan it beforehand, he do it himself and surprise you. He would negotiate with Karga to take time off work for a while even if it meant he would have to take on extra bounties afterwards or beforehand

If you ask, he tells you you’re going to Tatooine or some planet that never is really that exciting, and then when you arrive he would lower the ramp and show you

And if this man thought he couldn’t fall for you any further

He was wrong

Because the way he SWOONS at the sight of your face lighting up...he's head over heels

He would let you pack some bags and whatever else you need for a couple days (you would probably stay for like…4-7 days? It really depends on Din's schedule but I'm sure you could convince him to change the plans a bit if you wanted)

And then you would be off. None of you want to waste time

While travelling, Din would want to take it all the way since you guys don't get to vacation often. He would probably include a hotel (or just plain camping depending on the planet and how many credits you guys have). You wouldn’t be spending much time in the Crest, probably none at all honestly

Din doesn't really have a preference for either hot or cold planets. For him, as long as the climate isn’t extreme (like Tatooine or Hoth for example) he would be satisfied. He would probably enjoy Naboo, maybe even Sorgan or Endor. He definitely likes anywhere with lots of greenery, it’s a peaceful break from the general harshness of the planets and life he’s used to

I was also considering Coruscant but that might be stretching it, just because of how busy it can be, even if it is a gorgeous planet. Something isolated and quiet would be best for him. Privacy is something he needs in order to actually wind down so he doesn’t have to worry about the safety of you and the kid (although, when is he not worried about that?)

He prefers quiet planets not only because of safety, but if he's started taking the helmet off around you, he would most likely want to remove it at times during the trip as well

Another reason he wants to go somewhere green is because he knows Grogu will enjoy it. And if there’s a lot of water there, like lakes or rivers? That’s even better (frogs of course). That’s sort of why I feel like Naboo or Sorgan would be perfect

But Grogu making friends with the Ewoks on Endor would be so adorable as well...anyway

While there, I think it would just be a whole lot of exploring. He would leave it to you to decide where you want to go and what you want to see

Din is more than fine with whatever you decide but I also think that at some point during your trip, he would want to go see the architecture and nature of the planet. He finds culture in architecture and he absolutely adores seeing the uniqueness of it all, especially since every planet is so different

I know this is a bit basic, but the three of you would go on walks. Just sort of wander with no real destination and see where it leads you. That's probably how you guys discover most of the planet, rather than using a map or guide

I can also imagine having a picnic with him and the kid. The whole Anakin and Padmé scene in AOTC? That exact scenery

Even if he doesn't really eat because...well...the helmet situation, you would still enjoy each other's company and just chat. He would be happy enough to just know you're enjoying yourself. The smile on your face makes him happier than any meal could

The different food (if there is different food depending on the planet...I'm honestly not sure) would be so fun to try out

And if there were any festivals (I'm assuming most planets have different traditions) during the time you visit, there would be no hesitation in attending them. Once again with the whole culture thought, Din would LOVE stuff like that

Finally, although Din really would want to experience as much as possible, his main goal wouldn't be that. It would be that you leave feeling better and much more refreshed than when you arrived

And after your visit, he would realize how nice it actually was. He might even find himself craving that same domesticity and relaxation at the oddest times

He knows how good it was for you and the kid. If you asked, he wouldn't even hesitate going to Karga and asking him for more time off work. If you wanted to go back to whatever planet you went to, he would take you there. However, he'd be open to new suggestions as well (as long as it's safe) and would go wherever you wanted

Bucky Barnes Shopping HCs

Grocery shopping:

Bucky going grocery shopping would be both funny and sad. Food would be more of a basic thing to him, just a means to survive, until you opened him up more to the idea of learning to cook different comfort foods. No matter what some ff writers say, I firmly believe that because of the era he grew up in/environment he was kept in, he doesn’t know how to cook. He would’ve been the kind of boy to sit and watch his mom cook, but never would’ve joined in. Now that he has freedom, I can see him following your advice and would try to recreate old recipes his mom used to make for him. That would be a never-ending project for him and he would definitely ask both you and Sam to help him taste test. It would take him a long time to figure out cooking, like what kind of spices to use, different types of cuisine, etc. Bucky would definitely go to smaller grocery stores, like farmers markets, because that’s what would feel the most natural to him, the most comfortable. I am also a strong believer that Bucky hates jello with a passion. I don’t know why but it’s just not him.

Clothes shopping:

Bucky going clothes shopping alone and going clothes shopping with you would be two VERY different things. When Bucky first went clothes shopping alone (after hydra/shield yk…) he would’ve been SO overwhelmed by the choices. It was a lifetime ago that he had the opportunity to choose so he wouldn’t know what to get. He wouldn’t really have a sense of style either and would end up quickly buying the most generic clothes (henleys, tees, etc.) so he could blend in with the crowd easily. But around the time TFATWS took place, he would start to get back out into the world, and would definitely take shopping as something a bit more significant. It’s still definitely not his favourite activity, but he’s slowly learning to incorporate his own style/what he enjoys (leather jacket, TIGHT tee shirts).

If he went shopping with you, he would enjoy it A LOT more. He’d love watching you try things on and would be convinced that you’d have to get every single outfit. Alone, he probably wouldn’t try this but with you, he would check out the food court and get something to eat. He’d really like the food court because of all the types of food they have available from different cultures. All in all, he would purely enjoy having people around and not needing to be anxious. He would love walking around with you and having a “normal” experience. That would mean the world to him.

Gift shopping:

The holidays would be such a stressful time for Bucky because he would not like gift shopping. It’s not that he doesn’t like giving gifts, it’s that the shopping, picking, and planning itself is so exhausting. He would have no idea what to get for his loved ones. He’s definitely more of a people pleaser so he wants to get something that people will use and enjoy, no matter the price. In the end, he would ponder over his options for an absurd amount of time and then get something more last minute. He wouldn’t expect the person to like the gift and would downplay it so much, but the receiver would love it. He’d be in disbelief for a while but then would be so happy that he got a gift that someone loved.

Car shopping:

Bucky going car shopping would be an ordeal. This man just wants a nice, comfortable method of transportation but of course it’s not that easy. He would end up going to a car shop that was around back in the day, something like Chevrolet but would be so confused at all the new different kinds of cars there are. He doesn’t really understand why some people are obsessed with cars, to him it’s just a thing that gets you places (it’s not like it flies). He would almost give up on the idea of buying a car, but then he’d happen to walk past an older garage shop and see a few older vehicles. He would be pleased at the lack of confusing language and would see an older motorcycle and would just buy it immediately. The owner of the shop would be so confused at a simple walk-in purchase but Bucky would be so happy that this mission of his was over.

Din Music HCs

If we're talking about modern Din I'm lowkey thinking he would secretly ADORE Taylor Swift but it would take a lot to get him to admit it. But at the same time...would he like more chill music?? Maybe RnB? Maybe The Weeknd...LIKE DIN LISTENING TO THE WEEKND WOULD BE SO HOT ARE YOU KIDDING???

He would also like hip hop I think. And 70's/80's. Specifically ABBA. I don't know why I can just see him absolutely loving Voulez-Vous.

See but this is the thing -- I honestly think he would thoroughly enjoy all genres and many different artists. Din wouldn't be opposed to anything tbh he probably just doesn't care

Like he would either be very specific in what he listens to and enjoys or he would just listen to whatever comes on the radio because he's THAT level of unbothered

He would also let you DJ if you were driving with him. Generally, he's pretty selective over who gets to choose what music to play. It would either be his music or, more often than not, just silence if he even let anyone he doesn't like in his car in the first place. But with you, I think he would actually want you to choose. He would LOVE learning and trying to figure out your music taste and he would probably end up getting one of the songs stuck in his head, but of course he doesn't mind since it reminds him of you...I'm on the floor

He would come to really enjoy the time you spend together where you're just sharing your favourite songs with each other. And he would be internally screaming when you say you like his taste in music because, while I think it's just normal to feel happy when someone likes your preferences, I think music can be something very personal to him. Of course he'd never admit it, but maybe it's a way he communicates, especially once you share music with each other more often.

Din & Grogu HCs

Even though Din has little (to no) money, we all know he would spoil Grogu. If Grogu wanted anything special to eat (macaroons & frogs ofc) Din would forbid it but then get it for him anyways.

If we're being honest here we know Din isn't super hygienic, but he would wash Grogu a lot more than himself. But we also know that Din would probably use hand soap to wash him.

If anyone was mean to Grogu (stormtrooper in S1) that would be Din's villain origin story. Even though Din's usually a 'think before you act' person, in that scenario he would NOT think. He would whip out that darksaber IMMEDIATELY.

Din is still a 'conservative' mandalorian so sadly, we wouldn't see him with his helmet off. EVER. But Grogu? That's another story. Din wouldn't take his helmet off all the time, but he would definitely be more comfortable around Grogu. He would take it off comfortably to eat at dinners, would take it off when him and Grogu are relaxing, and other scenarios where it's just father-son alone time.

If Din ever bought clothes for Grogu, it would only be when Grogu ABSOLUTELY NEEDS them. Like if they went to a cold planet, he would definitely buy Grogu a fluffy jacket. But in all honesty, the jacket would be pretty weird and Grogu would never wear it unless Din forced him to. Din would also take an old rag or cloth and make some simple layers for Grogu to wear. We know that man doesn't sew so he'd be using duct tape or something to hold it together.

*BONUS* If these two ever settled down peacefully on a planet together, they would go to Sorgan (planet from season 1) ;(
