what do you mean alina has to wear first army soldier’s uniform. that first army was killing grisha, her people, left and right and the writers made ZERO statement on it.

it’s so unfair that in the books alina was manipulated into not wearing darkling’s color, a man who protected grisha from otkazat’sya for centuries.

but everyone was fine w her wearing simple soldier’s uniform 🤡🤡 at least in the books they gave her golden kefta w jewelry and all the fancy shit she deserved.

what eric heisserer did to alina’s character was absolutely devastating

first of all she got less than two hours of the whole timeline of the whole s2 as a main character.

if they made shadow and bone crossed with the crows, which was absolutely unnecessary and dumb decision because they sidelined even crows themselves and didn’t enlighten none of the problems crows themselves suffered like what jesper and nina felt as grishas or what happened to inej. all of it just to lift kaz’s backstory.

and yes, if they made kaz and alina leads, why kaz got his lines from the books and alina got none when originally this show & books were about her and her only

they promised they’d explore alina’s heritage but by some reasons she was the only person who didn’t get any backstory and they left no clue who are her parents and did other sun summoners exist before. sorry I don’t accept the book ending either because alina was only special and leigh left her powerless with some stinky otkazat’sya on a farm.

and what we got? “empty promises” as said alina in s2 but darkling’s promises were real and the writers’ aren’t. even jessie mei li wasn’t much comfortable about the decision of alina’s complete erasure.

I also can write miles of text how badly they treated the actress herself how they made jessie stay the longest on set, didn’t include most of scenes and how they made everyone shoot in a warm clothes (darkling’s death scene) in 35 degrees hot.

what drives me more mad is that mal knows whose descendant he is, why is he like this but NOTHING for alina. and I even know why, because in any case if alina’s backstory was in the book & show the ending wouldn’t fit leigh’s and eric’s narratives (alina’s terrible ending)

alina is the most powerful and the most interesting and the most unexplored character even in the books and I’m so angry they made her asian just to violently sideline her

also as I remember correct one writer was also involved in a show that erased asian character (dc titans?)

the only and only thing about the show is alina ending up a queen, surrounded by grisha and a good husband who may not be her lover but he’s protective, will always listen to her, will never whine , will help her etc (I’ll forever annoy y’all with my darkolina agenda)

Tumblr does not censor for text content (meaning that this kind of censoring can also make working forms of blacklisting less effective), and writing in such a way is difficult for screenreaders to parse. I’m from asoiaf twitter and we had a situation a month ago, when team green stans were reporting us 24/7, most possibly using some bots to make more reports (cuz twt doesn’t suspend an acc if you don’t send them 356282829 reports), they also used to buy bots so an actress from their team would win a poll.

so yeah, I got used to censoring because I HAVE TROOMA😭😭 also they tried to suspend me for wishing death for putin lol (I’ll just assume they support his actions)

only good thing about all of it — third and moreover fourth seasons won’t be renewed.

cuz it’s been almost half of the year since march 16 and still no official word about renewal or cancellation (they let it die peacefully😭😭)

and now there’s no way they’d renew because I swear, none of the general audience remembers about this shitshow and this 100% will be a flop if it’s to be renewed

I genuinely don’t understand why people want that soc spin off or shadow and bone season three because the writers were just…racist as fuck?

they made Alina asian, promised they’d explore her shu heritage but instead they erased her personality from the books to insert 378392910 scenes from kaz’s childhood, it’s literally not Alina anymore and the way they reduced her to a just ‘girlboss’ because male writer thought it was feminist and progressive 🤡 they erased her strong feelings for the darkling, they erased her ability to make a cut, they erased her humor, they erased her powerful speeches from the books.

erasure of the inej’s trauma…she literally couldn’t normally touch people for almost two books and saying ‘ I want you without armor, Kaz’ after what (a month? because s2 is so fucking rushed) after s2 started. that’s a serious theme and getting rid of her feelings about what happened to her, the depth of her trauma and erasing it just for what…? to show kaz’s flashbacks again? or to make her girlboss because male author thinks it’s feminist?

erasure of jesper’s trauma, his struggle with being grisha, accepting it etc. it took him a very lot of time in the books just to confess that he’s grisha to the other members of crows. he was ashamed because of it and he thought that this is a curse (also this is a key that canonically novy zem wasn’t that friendly to grisha. if this statement is wrong, correct me cuz I don’t remember shit what happened in those books sawry). and then in the show jesper magically accepted who he is, threw his struggles away in two minutes and then brutally kvllvd grisha woman who also had huge struggles, trauma with being a grisha.

THIS SHOW HAD DONE THEM DIRTY, AINT NEVER FORGIVING THAT.

(the only good thing was Alina not losing power as a member of oppressed minority)

Thinking about Shadow Summoner Ulla & her little brother, Aleksander.

Baghra trying to send Ulla away so she can properly shape her youngest to become exactly who she wants him to be, but in order to do that she must be the only one in his life... But Ulla knows her mother (eldest daughter syndrome) and refuses to let her brother suffer in her hands like she suffered.
