"Are you gonna tell Elena?" Stefan's voice broke through the silence of the car ride back to Mystic Falls. His grip on the steering wheel was tight, knuckles white with nervous anticipation between them. Things were weird between them, but last night made them even more prominent.
"Tell Elena, what?" Y/N asked, but he knew what Stefan meant. They both did, Y/N just wanted—needed Stefan to say it out loud.
The older vampire was quiet for a moment. His green eyes were trained on the road ahead of them as if that would save him from having to answer. "Are you going to tell Elena... that I kissed you?"
"Who cares about what Elena thinks. I wanna know why you did it, Stefan. And I want to know, right now." It was a fair question. Who kisses their ex-girlfriend's little brother out of the blue like that in a hotel room?
"I don't know." Stefan said, not looking him in the eyes. He was dodging. Why, though?
"Yes, you do. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so afraid of Elena finding out. Not that it's any of her business. This is between you and me."
"I didn't mean for it to happen. It was an accident."
"No, it wasn't. You wanted it. I know you did. The way you looked at me. The way you cupped my face. You're a liar, Stefan." Stefan's jaw tightened, and he pulled over as he looked at Y/N before he crashed their lips together.

sometimes i just think about bonnie bennett
and how she was never intended to be black. her equivalent character in the vampire diaries novels is white and the only reason she’s black is that the producers of tvd told julie plec that she couldn’t have an all white cast. yet bonnie bennett is the embodiment of the magical negro trope, she’s probably one of the best examples of it in 21st century television. and it just makes me wonder what bonnie bennett would be like if she got the storyline julie plec would have given her had she been white. both joseph morgan and ian somerhalder argued for bonnie to get a romance plot with their characters. i personally would have liked a subplot of kol teaching bonnie magic in tvd season 3 and 4 perhaps with a romantic plot within it. but the symbolism of kol who was taught magic by ayana being the first person who teach bonnie since her grams died and teaching her all these ancient bennett spells from his childhood is something that i think just made so much sense for both their characters.
sometimes i just think about bonnie bennett and who she would be without julie plec’s racism.
oh and this is everyone’s reminder that stefan and damon had nothing to do with the confederacy in the vampire diaries novels they were just 500 year old dudes from italy. the whole mystic falls confederacy lore is entirely of julie plec’s own making.

Jamie and Roy spending ridiculous amounts of time together and Phoebe knowing about it definitely means that Jamie’s around Phoebe a lot more in the off-season when she’s off school and Roy’s off work but still being Jamie’s personal trainer for free (and she definitely likes bossing Jamie around just as much as Roy does and finds the ridiculous shit Roy makes him do hilarious)
And you know that thing where kids love to randomly go watch this, I can do a somersault or want to see me do a cartwheel? and then you just have to awkwardly stand there and be like wow whether they actually can do them or not (and sometimes several times in a row have to try to think of something new to say the fifth time they do the exact same thing and then look to you for a reaction)
I’m just saying at some point they’re in some park and Phoebe definitely pulls a look how good I’m getting at cart wheels, Uncle Roy! around Jamie at some point and while Roy just stands there like 🧍♂️ and gives compliments that gradually get more and more deadpan and debates turning it into saying how much more impressive that is than anything Jamie’s done all morning but he doesn’t because he’s 90% sure that would just lead to Jamie getting all indignant and competitive and proving he can cartwheel too as if Roy isn’t already annoyingly aware of that from when he was dying trying to keep up with Jamie in Amsterdam while he was cartwheeling and practically skipping
But obviously Roy not saying anything doesn’t matter anyway and Jamie turns it into being like watch this to Phoebe and cartwheeling too and turning to Roy after like well go on, tell me how good I am at that too
Roy deadpans somehow it’s far less impressive watching a grown man cartwheel for attention. It’s just sad, really
But Jamie isn’t offended at all and just shoots Roy an obnoxious smirk and insists you’re just saying that because you know you couldn’t do one. Even trying would probably end with you needing a hip replacement or something
But before Roy can even properly argue or say something bitchy back, Jamie’s turning back to Phoebe with a how about this then? But even though it’s her he asks, it’s Roy he looks to the moment he finishes running a few steps and doing a one-handed cartwheel
And Jamie’s like well now are you impressed??? And god, Roy resents that he is and he could make a dig about how useless of a skill it was as an adult and how that wouldn’t accomplish anything on the pitch and he’d just look like one of the kids that picks flowers on the pitch instead of playing or even paying attention to where the ball is, but instead he rolls his eyes and says yeah okay
And Jamie beams but he doesn’t have time to properly gloat and give Roy shit because Phoebe’s already bossing him around telling him that he has to teach her how to do that too

Make more Romance repulsed characters.
Make more loveless aro characters.
Make more Non-Partnering characters.
and most of all: don't make these identities flaws. Don't "fix" them by the end of the story. Don't make them obstacles for the characters to overcome.
let them be fully complex people without treating their repulsion, lovelessness, or non-partnering identities as a flaw that needs to be fixed. Let these characters exist in a genuine and positive way that is not looked down upon or shamed.

This is a genuine question, and if anyone has the answers, PLEASE tell me because I do wanna know.
Has Elena ever said anything nice about Damon? Like the whole reason why she gets with Damon is because he’s the one that makes her feel the most alive. And I get it, you’re supposed to be with someone that can make you feel good things. But…. What is it specifically about Damon that she likes, as in his personality?
Has she ever said anything regarding towards that?? Matter of fact, I don’t think anyone has ever said anything nice about Damon tbh. MAYBE Bonnie, and HARD MAYBE on Stefan.
If I’m getting in a forever relationship with someone, there has to be something about them that makes me heart-eyed. That being said, you can LOVE someone, but don’t LIKE them.
Now before y’all say I’m tripping, let’s take a trip down memory lane for a bit:
There were so many times throughout the show that Elena yelled at Damon: “What is wrong with you?!”
And of course, it’s a valid question because Damon used to do some questionable ass shit, but why be with someone that’s always doing QUESTIONABLE ASS SHIT. And it bothers you! I could see if Elena was like… idk, let’s say Katherine. Katherine would not nearly as bothered with Damon’s killing or threatening tendencies, matter of fact, she would probably encourage it. Hypothetically speaking, Katherine would probably go on to say: “It’s my favorite thing about him.”
Now go back to Elena. What is Elena’s favorite part about Damon that doesn’t pertain to her? Not about “how he makes her feel”, no. What is it about Damon’s personality, strengths, whatever, intrigues Elena???
