Ok, I think I fixed the horrible pink soup that ate my game. But anyway here's what shoud've gone in the last post ig lol
First off, Ocker grew up. Did you remember that this puppy lived here now? I didn't.
A very smelly Suyana goes into labour while Idja and Johka Vuosttamus are visiting. Her arm goes wonky for some reason, that's a weird way to hold a babby. But yeah welcome to the world baby Adie!

Well. That's a new house.
And a different, more exciting-looking new house behind it there. We'll be seeing more of it later.
Anyway yeah hello and welcome to the Akoko household! Now moved to a new and improved house made out of real molded and sun-baked clay, rather than the ol' sticks and reeds. It's the new way of things.
Here we see Suyana with baby Pataki. She's expecting again for the sixth and final time. She won't be aging into elderhood this round, but only just. Behind them, eldest child Aworan checks out the new garden.
Cat power couple DD and Diddy came along, of course
As did the Akoko goats :) and the children are now in school, with all the opportunity that brings
This family is plebeian, so we aren't seeing much grandeur yet, but I'm really feeling the upgrade the new house is. Oorun, too, is glad his littlest child will grow up in this relative luxury.
He even finds motivation to be even more of a breadwinner, as he's allowed to now. His choice of career is a surprise to his wife, he was always the serious one of the two (he has 4 points on the serious-playful scale, she has 7). But then he does have the Insane trait. And the "Become Rock Star" LTW. So it kind of tracks.
Stuck at home, Suyana spends what free time she can find in between caring for the goats, crops and baby by entertaining friends and family. Her sister Mayu is actually Empress now I guess, so though the family ain't rich, they're not without powerful connections. But like, who isn't in this hood at this point lol. And Mayu and Harikoa's niece Aroha, also visiting, actually works for them at the palace now.
That evening, Ibukun checks on his baby bro
to find that he's rapidly becoming a lil less of a baby. Or more of one, depending how you look at it. A bigger one, anyway. He grew!
And what a sweet lil guy he is now!

On the opposite side of Moon Islands from where we've been doing all the playing thus far, there's this cool little square that's begging me to establish a city centre here
The central, huge lot overlooking the entire square will be the Emperor's Palace lot, while the two Patrician families will each get a side of the city.
A long time later:
Imma toot my own horn for a bit. I've been playing TS2 pretty much since its release. I've made a lot of custom hoods. And I've NEVER managed to have an area feel like an actual town area thing you can walk around. LOOK at that central square!! Look at it!!!!1 That's 4 lots! They're not even done! See how those corners beg for sim-owned businesses? See how the path takes you from the imperial palace to the colosseum? DO YOU EVEN SEE IT
Hella spoilers here. I don't think I should even tell you who lives where, though you know which household now occupies the palace
Oh yeah and the green side lots in the second image became corner lots in the process :)

Mutia's still not as close with all the Qallariq cats as she'd have liked.. when did she grow out of puppyhood anyway? The things I miss with my screenshotting, man
Sacha's really cute.
Cool big boy Johka drops by. The kids are his cousins, not that they'd know. Also pets playing nice, how about that. I don't use the controlpets cheat as a rule so it always a stroke of good luck when they're not fighting.
We are allowed jobs now, but T'ika won't be going to work for some upper class household as that means moving out of this house.

Part of why I've been hesitant to start the Roman Stage properly is that the first household we'll be spending time with, the Qallariq family, is one where nothing's really gonna change much. These guys are slave class, the only class who'll stay living on their old lots, so gameplay will look very similar to the neander stage. But anyway
Entzu is visiting... I'm still not getting them back together, I don't care what they do
Inti's about to be way too busy for any of that nonsense anyway. Teh twins are aging up!
I gave Wakin a haircut but unfortunately forgor to get his picture aftewards, whoopsie
You can sort of see him in the background there as Inti's struggling with her pregnancy.. yep, that's happening too. She's not as young as she once was but she wants 10 children damnit!

As per Rules, the Bath Lot is to be rebuilt into the Public Baths. I wanted to get this done early so I'd have somewhere to wash the smelly lower class (who are not allowed tubs in this challenge stage)
Here's how it's looking rn.. the upstairs has some small rooms with tubs for a little more privacy, and thanks to newfound Roman era advances in water tech, a hot tub. Below is a pool and 2 toilets.
You'll see more of this as we start actually playing again, but of course I had to playtest the thing, and Orotika wasted no time in making trouble

slowly crawling out of my hidey hole
hello! long time eh? i promise i haven't been at exams for all of two months. sometimes real life happens and you have to go spend time with your family across the country and feel some feels. ya feel?
long ramble under cut
at some point i developed this mental allergy to the IDEA of my test of time hood and tried to set up a contemporary game to play in. that took forever and i grew tired of that too before i'd even played it. also dabbled in sims 3 a bit. the island paradise ep is a bit of a whale isn't it? also why is that game so janky? why does it break every time you add a mod? why is the native story progression barely even there? why do ALL townies age up into that horrible alien outfit and space boots i can't get rid of because it came with the seasons ep i believe? why is it enabled for all outfit types? who is responsible for the game being not optimised at all? also where does time go when i play?
also there's this game called A Highland Song that's actually good and has taken over my brain slightly. You should play it, it's beautiful. You may remember the creators from Heaven's Vault which is also beautiful and you should also play that. My gamer partner doesn't understand my longstanding sims 2 monogamy (more like mono game-y, ayooo) and has convinced me to try a new thing every now and then and yeah, not the worst idea it turns out.
I can't promise daily updates this time, mainly because i signed up for too many classes again and have to get through the entire european literary canon in the next few months. just letting y'all know that i'm fine, i'm home, i'm returning to my little civilization and whatever will have to pass for normalcy now.
also. genocide is bad, actually. is this a tone crime? this is barely even an entertainment blog but i personally believe there are cases where silence is complicity, and this is the one platform i have. so,
