An Update (and lowkey an apology)
hi frens!! first off, i want to say i’m SO sorry for just disappearing! I know this is not the first time I have done this, and I’m really sorry! With everything going on in the world right now, it has been taking a toll on my mental health. I’ve been back at work as well, which makes it difficult.
I really want to start writing again, and I will still be working on the requests that I have!! I’m not going to promise a posting schedule at the moment, but I will post the night before to let you all know that a fic will be coming out the next day!
Thank you guys for understanding!! <3

Tumblr media
“Hopefully we can have another date?” they whispered into your ear as they dropped you off in front of your apartment. Your body shuddered at the thought of another horrendous date with this person.
“Maybe!” you responded with a fake smile as you quickly turned around to unlock your front door. You could sense that they were still standing behind you, and you wished they would leave. The date did not go well, and you were practically holding in an anxiety attack.
“Well, bye, I guess?” you heard their voice say, followed by footsteps thankfully. You pushed yourself inside your apartment and let out a deep breath that you were holding in. You were shaking, and you needed to sit down before you were doing to pass out. You grabbed your blanket and wrapped yourself up and cuddled up on your couch.
This was one of the first dates you had gone on from a dating website, and you were certain that you were never going to do it again. Online dating was just not for you. It was impossible to enjoy yourself with someone you don’t even know. Yes, you swiped right on them, but that was because their profile interested you! They had some of the same hobbies as you, as well as liked most of the same music and movies. Unfortunately, their personality was horrible.
They talked about their exes for half of the dinner, which you ended up paying for the entire thing. You have nothing against paying for yourself, but they were the one who invited you in the first place and you really weren’t in the financial place to pay for both of your guys meals. They also talked about how “different” you were compared to your profile, and it just made you feel bad inside. You thought that you did a wonderful job at posting real pictures of yourself, and only telling the truth. You tried to not let their comments get to you, but the more you thought about the terrible date, the more you wanted to cry.
“I’m never doing this again,” you mumble to yourself, wiping a few stray years away. You didn’t really feel like being alone all night in your a[apartment with your thoughts, so you decided to call your best friend and see if they would be able to come over and comfort you. You picked up your cell and dialed Wanda’s number. The contact, named only ‘Maximoff’, went full screen as the familiar dialing sound filled your ears.
“Y/N!” her voice chirped on the other end. “How was the date?”
“Wanda, it was horrible. The worst thing I have ever put myself through.”
“Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that. What happened?”
“So much, I thought it was going well but they just kept talking about their exes and making these snide comments about my profile.” Your voice cracked at the end of the sentence.
“Y/N,” Wanda sighed. “Do you need me to come over?”
“Yes, please.” You nodded even though she couldn’t see you. “I just really need you right now.”
“I’ll be over in five, let me just notify the team and I’ll be there soon, okay? Do you need me to bring anything, like food?”
“I think I’m okay, thank you though. See you soon.”
“IIt’s gonna be okay! I got you.” Her voice was soft and you instantly felt warmer on the inside. Wanda always had that effect on you. She hung up and you were once again filled with the empty silence of your apartment. You curled up more underneath your blanket, and slowly let the tears fall, hoping to get them done with before Wanda came over. You hated having her see you cry, mostly because you could sense that it hurt her to see you hurting, and you never wanted to be the cause of her hurting.
After what seemed like forever, the door to your apartment slowly opened. You jumped at first, thinking it was the person from your date, but you relaxed once you caught sight of Wanda’s red hair. She was wearing a black sweatshirt and leggings, much different than her usual outfits she wears, usually in case of being called out for a mission.
“You look cozy,” you spoke from your couch. You watched Wanda’s eyes soften as she spotted you underneath the blankets.
“I could say the same about you,” she teased. She set down her bag by the front door and came over to the couch. She laid underneath the blankets and wrapped her arms around you, resting her head on your shoulder. You felt warmth rise through your body, and you knew that she was using her powers to warm you up.
“Thank you,” you whispered as she stopped her powers. You did feel much more relaxed, and less panicky.
“Anything for you, like I said on the phone, I got you.” She wiped a strand of hair away from your forehead. “Do you want to talk about the date?”
“I guess.”
“You don’t have to, Y/N. No pressure.”
“I guess I’m just disappointed in myself. Like I felt like I had to go on this date, but it was just so horrible and I think I decided that online dating is not for me.”
“What do you mean you ‘felt like’ you had to go on this date?” Wanda asked. You nibbled on your bottom lip as you thought.
“I think I was just trying to go on this date to try to get over someone that I have feelings for.” You spoke slowly. This was the first time you had ever admitted to that out loud.
“What do you mean?” Wanda shuffled on the couch so that her face was looking directly at you. Your eyes wandered in hers.
“I have feelings for this girl, and I’ve been afraid to pursue them because I don’t want to ruin anything, so I thought maybe online dating would work, but obviously not.”
“Who do you have feelings for?” Wanda’s eyes danced across your face, trying to get a better reading but to no avail. She knew she could just go inside and see your thoughts, but that was an invasion of privacy and she would never do that to you.
“Oh, um,” you stuttered. “You.” You quickly grabbed the blanket and pulled it up above your head so you were hiding. “Please don’t hate me.” You could hear Wanda giggle.
“Y/N, I could never hate you. Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me though.” She grabbed the blanket and pulled it down so she could see your eyes once again.
“I don’t think I have ever said that out loud before.”
“Well, I feel honored,” she smiled. “Can I confess something to you?”
“Um, sure,” you nodded softly.
“I like you too, Y/N! I’m also just as horrible at expressing my feelings, so maybe this date was good! Despite the fact it was horrible, but I mean like it allowed us to finally reveal our feelings for each other!” Wanda started to rant.
“You have a point.” You sat up on the couch and rested more into Wanda’s arms. She reached over and intertwined her fingers with yours and started to rub soft circles into the top of your hand.
“I bet I could take you on a better date than that person ever could,” Wanda said.
“Oh really?”
“Yes! First off, I would cook you dinner. We could watch our favorite movie and eat, and then maybe even go on a night walk and I can show you all my favorite places to practice new tricks!”
“I do love watching you use your powers!” you agreed.
“So what do you say, can I please give you a dinner date that you truly deserve?” Wanda looked at you eagerly and you nodded.
“Yes!”
“Yay!” Wanda squealed and you couldn’t help but to laugh.
“Thank you for everything, Wanda.”
“You’re welcome, Y/N! Like I said twice now, you don’t need to worry, I got you.”

Tumblr media
“You know what I am thinking?” Tyler spoke up between his bites of the Hawaiian pizza he was munching on. Both you and Josh looked up towards him and saw his mischievous look.
“What?” you were nervous for his answer, usually when Tyler had a look like that on his face, it meant no good.
“Late night shenanigans?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Oh hell yeah!” Josh clapped his hands together and rubbed them together, as if he was creating an evil plot.
“Tyler,” you sighed. “Do you remember how much trouble we got in last time? You literally crashed the golf cart into the wall of the amphitheater and caused like, what?, 2k worth of damages?”
“Y/N! C’mon! We will be safe.” Josh chimed in before Tyler even had a chance to respond.
“Yeah! We’ve been on tour for like two months now and we only have had like 10 late night shenanigans. We gotta make them tradition.” He smiled to himself as he thought about everything he could do.
“Okay, fine.” You raised your hands up in defeat, but you couldn’t help to feel a little bit of excitement. You enjoyed the late night adventures you spent with the boys on tour. The first time Josh had invited you on tour was back during regional at best era, and you quickly were invited to every tour in the future. You liked helping out in the back, plus you really liked spending time with Tyler and Josh. They were like your best friends, even though you did have a little bit of a crush on Tyler, you couldn’t lie about that.
“So, Joseph, what do you have planned this time?” Josh asked. Tyler thought for a second before standing up and grabbing his laptop and bringing it over to the couch that you were all sitting on in the tour bus.
“Hear me out! They have these electric scooters, and I think we should ride them downtown across this bridge.” He pulled up a photo of a large bridge that was lit up with rainbow lights.
“Whoa, that’s pretty,” you whispered.
“It really said gay rights,” Josh chimed in making you all snicker.
“Can I just say that I have never ridden an electric scooter before?” you confessed, your stomach bubbling with nervousness.
“You think we have?” Tyler laughed.
“I have.” Josh spoke, making both you and Tyler to look over at him.
“When?”
“Back when I was visiting LA! They have them all over!”
“Are they pretty easy to use?” you asked.
Josh nodded, “You’ll get a hang of it quick, Y/N, trust me!”
“It won’t be bad, I promise!” Tyler added, trying to help ease your nerves. You smiled at him before taking a deep breath.
“When are we headed out?”
“I was thinking like around 1?” Tyler looked at his apple watch. It read 12:38 am.
“Do you think it will be cold out? What should I wear?” you tend to ask a lot of questions when you were nervous, and they seemed to all be making an appearance right now.
“The weather says it’s around 65 degrees so I would suggest something comfortable but warm? Maybe sweatpants and a sweatshirt?” Josh suggested. You thank him before excusing yourself to get into better clothes. You squeezed into the tiny bathroom and you stared at yours;f in the mirror. For some reason you were more nervous for this late night adventure than you have been in the past. You weren’t sure if it was because you all had gotten in trouble with the boys’ manager last time, or if it was because you did not want to make a fool of yourself on the electric scooters in front of Tyler.
“You okay in there?” you heard a knock on the door. It was Tyler.
“Yep!” You unlocked the door and walked out, now in warmer and much more comfortable clothes.
“I like your sweatshirt!” Tyler said with a soft smile. You felt your cheeks blush.
“Thanks, is it because it’s yours?” you teased. It was an older style of a twenty one pilots hoodie.
“It looks way better on you than it ever did on me!”
“Sure, Ty,” you rolled your eyes and laughed.
“If you guys are done flirting, are you ready to head out?” Josh peeked his head into the hallway between the bathroom and the living area.
“We are not flirting!” Tyler snapped back at him and your face fell without you realizing. You think Tyler might have noticed too, because his eyes softened when he looked at you. “I’m sorry.” He whispered to you and you just responded with a small smile.
“I downloaded the app for the scooters and it looks like there is a group of them like five minutes from here, we just have to go left out of the parking lot!”
“At least one of us is good at directions!” you teased Tyler, reminding him of how he got you and Josh lost in new York city once, which also happened to be the most fun night of your life, but that is for another story. All of you piled out of the bus, saying goodbye to the others that were playing Mario kart. The air was chilly, and you wrapped your arms around your body to try to keep yourself warm. You followed the boys down the dark street, and you wished there were more street lamps.
“It’s spooky out here,” Tyler spoke.
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep you safe!” Josh turned around and patted Tyler’s shoulder.
“Thanks, love,” Tyler snickered.
“Ew,” you pretended to gag at the boys.
“I see the scooters!” Josh pointed to a rack of the scooters. He helped you and Tyler set up the app and make sure everything was working. You wished there were helmets, but hopefully you wouldn’t crash or anything like that.
“Whoa!” Tyler zipped off as he pressed on the power of the scooter, You watched in awe as he effortlessly made and loop and returned back to you and Josh.,
“You’re a natural!” you complimented him, making him beam.
“Watch this!” Josh said. He hopped on the scooter and started to forward but then he did a little hop and spun in a  circle.
“Show off,” Tyler grumbled.
“Your turn, Y/N!” Josh looked over at you and you nervously looked down at the scooter. It seemed to be mocking you.
“Alright.” You took a deep breath and placed both of your feet on the scooter, holding tightly onto the handles, and gently gave the scooter some power. It moved forward with a jolt, making you lose your balance a little bit. “It’s much more powerful than I was expecting.”
“You’ll get used to it!” Tyler reassured you. “Try again.”
You nodded and tried again, preparing yourself for the power. You stayed balanced as it started to move and then you practiced moving the handle bars left and right, and Tyler was right, you were able to get the hang of it fairly quickly.
“Onward!” Tyler raised his hand and pointed forwards as he rode off into the street. You laughed at how silly he was and followed him. Josh rode next to you, making sure you were doing okay.
“How far away is the bridge?” you asked. Josh looked down at the GPS on his phone.
“One more left turn and it should be down that road!” You thanked him and continued riding. It was peaceful. Tyler would start singing one of his songs, Josh making drumming sounds with his mouth, and you would just look at the night sky and take in your surroundings. There were quite a lot of murals on the walls of the buildings, which you were really pretty.
“I see the bridge!” Tyler shouted. You looked past him and saw the bridge, it was bright and lit up in the dark. You all rode until you reached the top of the middle of the bridge and you all stopped to look out over the river below.
“This is gorgeous!” you stated, looking down at the waves crashing below you.
“Like you,” he whispered. You weren’t quite sure you heard him correctly. You whipped your head around and looked at him with your mouth open, not sure what to say.
“Wait what?” you stumbled over your words and you could see Tyler’s ears turn a beet red.
“Oh, I um, said you look gorgeous? Like you said the view was gorgeous and-”
“Thank you, Tyler,” you stopped his stammering. “You’re pretty gorgeous yourself too.”
“Not true,” he scoffed.
“Tyler, it’s true! Right, Josh?” you turned around to see Josh who was on the other side of the bridge taking photos, not even realizing that you were talking to him. You turned back around to Tyler and shrugged. “I mean it.”
“You think I’m gorgeous?” Tyler placed his hand on his chest, dramatically acting surprised that you could think such a thing.
“Yes! I always that you were, like have you seen yourself Ty?” you laughed nervously. Usually, you weren’t this open about your feelings with someone, especially if you didn’t know if they felt the same.
“I mean that’s what I think about you. Every time I see you, I lose my breath because of how attractive you are!” he was looking out and you saw his eyes widened when he said that last part. “I’m sorry, hopefully you didn’t think that was creepy. Shit, I’t just I really like you, Y/N, and I don’t know how to flirt or talk to people I like and-”
“Tyler.” You took a step closer to him and placed your hand on his arm, giving it a small rub to calm him down. “It’s okay. Can I confess something too?”
He nodded with wide eyes, still not saying anything.
“I like you too! I’ve had a crush on you for the past six months but I’ve been too afraid to say anything! I get nervous around cute guys.” You poked his side, making him laugh.
“You have a crush on Tyler?” Josh asked as he walked over to join your guys conversation.
“Apparently Tyler also has a crush on me!” you smiled.
“I knew it!” Josh fist pumped the air.
“What?” Tyler looked over at Josh with suspicion
“C’mon, Ty. I know how you get when you like someone, and you have been acting like that around Y/N for the past few months! So are you guys going to, like, date now?” Josh crossed his arms and wiggled his eyebrows at the two of you. You played with your sweatshirt sleeve nervously.
“Y/N?” Tyler asked. You looked up at him. “Would you like to go on a date with me?”
“Duh,” you laughed.
“Sounds like a plan!” he leaned over and placed a kiss on your cheek.
“Ew, no kissing ion front of me!” Josh covered his eyes and Tyler punched his shoulder.
“Shut up, Dun, or I am going to kiss you!”
“Y’all are too much,” you laughed as you watched Tyler chase Josh around on the bridge.
“Dude, it’s already 3am!” Josh told both of you. “Ready to head back to the bus?”
“Yes,” you responded with a yawn. All three of you hopped on the scooters once again and rode back to the bus.
“Wait, look at that!” Tyler stopped his scooter and pointed to something that was crawling across the street.
“Ew, is that a rat?” you recognized the long eerie looking tail. “Disgusting.”
“Maybe it needs a friend,” Josh suggested.
“Hell no,” you stopped him right there. “This is how you two get in trouble, let’s get back to the bus before you two decide on some other shenanigan to get into tonight.”
“They have a point,” Tyler added.
“You were more fun when you guys weren’t together,” Josh mumbled.
“Dun, it’s been ,like fifteen minutes.”
“If anything, Y/N is gonna make me more fun!” Tyler teased.
“Exactly!” You scooted over to Tyler and gave him a high five.
“Where’s my high five??” Josh frowned.
“You get a fist pump.”
“Good enough,” Josh fist pumped you and continued on towards the bus. The warmth of the inside was nice and after you convinced Tyler to pay for all of your scooter fees with the band's credit card, it was finally time for bed. You got into pajamas and while you were brushing your teeth, you saw Tyler walk by to get into his bunk.
“Goodnight, Y/N!” Tyler said. “I’m glad that we went on our little adventure tonight, because I don’t think I would have had the guts to tell you if we didn’t.”
“Agreed.” Your lips turned upwards as Tyler leaned in and planted a kiss on your lips. Your first kiss with Tyler. It was short, but so perfect.
“You taste like toothpaste,” he chuckled.
“Your lips are very soft, like more soft than I think lips should be, do you use a lip scrub?” you questioned.
“I actually do,” he confessed. “It’s from lush and is chocolate flavored.”
“You’ll have to share!”
“My lips or the lip scrub?” he joked and you rolled your eyes.
“Both!” you leaned in for another peck on the lips. Tyler was smiling like an idiot, and it made you so giddy inside.
“Okay, I really need to sleep for the show tomorrow. Night, Y/N.”
“Goodnight, Ty! Tell Josh I said goodnight too even though I am sure he is already asleep. Sleep well!”
“You too!” You watched Tyler head towards the bunks and you finished up in the bathroom. You pulled out the couch into your bed and hopped in. You replayed the events of the night, and even though you were exhausted, you had a hard time falling asleep because of the excitement of Tyler confessing his feelings for you.
This was probably one of the best late night adventures you had.

Prank War
Pairing: Platonic!Peter Parker x Stark!reader (fem reader)
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: language
Summary: has the infamous stark vs parker prank war gone too far?
Author’s note: i seriously love writing peter so much (also I apologize that this is not a gender-neutral reader!). I think I am going to be opening up requests soon, so keep a lookout for that post :) ((also big s/o and creds to max for helping me with the guttural scream sentence))
Tumblr media
The prank war between you and Peter Parker started innocently when you would sneak up on him in your father’s lab. He would then return the favor by scaring you when you got off the elevator. You both would get so paranoid that neither of you could even go thirty minutes inside the tower without looking over your shoulder. What first started as trying to startle each other, turned into more aggressive pranks. The first one was completed by Peter, with the help of Bucky, while they gave you an oreo filled with toothpaste.
That bite of the oreo was the unfortunate beginning of the long-lasting prank war. It had been around three months now since it has first started, and everyone in the tower (especially your Dad), was wishing it could finally end once and for all.
The pranks have included you putting plastic in front of your bedroom door, then proceeding to yell for him because of an “emergency”. Peter has always been protective of you, like an older brother, so he ran as quickly as he could. His face slammed into the plastic, attaching itself to him, and he went flying forwards to the ground. You also put plastic on his shampoo bottles, underneath the lid, and it took him a solid ten minutes to figure out why his shampoo was not coming out.
He also got you good a few times, including replacing the saltshaker with sugar. That one was just cruel because Peter knows how much you love salt with your dinner, and he ruined an entire meal. He also would constantly hide fake bugs and snakes inside your room and you always would end up shrieking at first sight. They were just so realistic-looking from far away!
The last prank that occurred was when you put tape on the bottom of Peter’s computer mouse, making him believe that it was broken. You only revealed it was a prank when he started to order himself a new one online. You knew that it was your turn to get pranked next, and you had been on edge all week. It had been six days, and usually, they would occur only four to five days afterward.
“Have you seen Pete?” you asked your Dad who was down in his lab working on some nanotech. He shook his head and continued to focus on the work in front of him. You groaned dramatically and shuffled to the hallway. Maybe some of the other Avengers knew his whereabouts. It was a Sunday, and usually, he spent it inside the tower either working on homework for school or engineering something in the lab.
“Sam, Steve, you guys seen Peter anywhere?” you peered your head inside the training room.
“I haven’t sorry,” Steve replied while wrapping his knuckles with tape, getting ready to train with Sam.
“I swear to god if he is up to something,” you mumble to yourself. You felt on edge, and you wished you could have “senses” like Peter does (even though for some reason he almost always fails to see your pranks coming).
You walked up the stairs to the kitchen and common area but there was still no sign of the brown-haired boy. Vision and Wanda were busy cooking dinner when you sat down at the counter. You knew that both of them would be able to tell you where Peter was because of their powers.
“Wandaaaa, Visionnnn,” you sing-songed. “Do you guys happen to know where the spider-ling is?”
“Oh yes, he is,” Vision started to say but Wanda took a spoonful of whatever she was cooking and plopped it into his mouth.
“Taste this,” she said, staring into Visions’ eyes. She looked back over at you innocently, “No, we haven’t seen him anywhere! I think he might have gone out on a day patrol”
“Day patrol?” you scoffed. “On a Sunday?”
“Yes,” Wanda gave you the sweetest smile she could muster.
“Alright, whatever you guys say.” You stood up from the counter and headed back up the stairs to your bedroom. You didn’t want to waste one of your free days with worrying about Peter and whatever he had planned for his prank, and the more you thought about it, you realized that this is probably exactly what he wanted. He wanted you to expect him to do it on a Sunday, and have you worried about all day.
“Think you can outsmart me, Spidey?” you mutter under your breath. Once you entered your room, you threw yourself onto your bed and grabbed your phone from the charger. You wanted to do a little work out in the privacy of your room instead of the training room. You connected your phone to the speakers in your wall and shuffled your work out playlist. You were already wearing your work out shorts, but you decided that you would be too hot with the sweatshirt you had on, so you ripped it off, leaving you in just your sports bra, and you sat on the ground so you could start doing sit-ups.
“Holy shit,” a voice spoke from above you. A guttural scream ripped through your throat as your eyes shot up the ceiling.
“Peter? What the fuck?” you quickly grabbed your shirt and threw it on top of you as Peter hopped down from the ceiling. He was wearing his suit, but without his mask. His cheeks were as red as a tomato and his lips were pinched together as he stared at you with wide eyes.
“I-I, t-thought,” he stammered.
“What are you doing in my room? On my ceiling?” you raised your voice. “Is that part of the prank war!?”
“You usually take naps on Sundays so I was going to wait for you to fall asleep and then scare you!” he confessed, throwing his arms around wildly.
“Peter that is messed up,” you scolded him. “And freaking creepy!”
“It would have been so good though! Plus how was I supposed to know you were going to work out in here, that is what the training room is for!”
“It’s my room, Parker.” You crossed your arms and glared at him. “How did you even get in here? My room is locked.”
“The window.”
“The window!?” you practically let out of a laugh. You were astonished at what lengths Peter was going to, to try to win this prank war.
“It would have worked if you had just taken a nap!”
“You can not blame this on me, sir,” you pointed a finger at him. “This has gone too far, and your prank failed, which means I won!”
“No way! You did not win! My pranks have been way better than yours!”
“As if!” you took a step closer towards him. You were starting to get angry, and you could feel your body get warm with frustration.
“Your pranks suck!” he spat.
“You’re the one that still falls for them even though you have a Peter tingle,” you mocked.
“Don’t call it that, Stark.” Peter tried to take a step towards you so he could tower over you but you shoved his shoulders, causing him to stumble backward.
“Your peter tingle literally does not work.”
“Shut up!” he shouted but you grabbed the cup of water that was sitting on your desk and splashed him in his face. He looked at you in disbelief from underneath his wet brown curls.
“Got you again, Parker,” your eyes narrowed.
“Ahh!” Peter yelled and before you knew it your hand was webbed to the cup you were holding.
“Peter Benjamin Parker!” you shrieked. “You are not allowed to use your webs on me!” You ran towards him, trying to grab onto his hair with your free hand, but Peter dodged you. He ran out of your room but you quickly followed him.
“S’cuse me!” Peter said as he turned the corner and almost ran into Steve.
“Get the fuck back here!” you chased after him.
“Language!” Steve yelled behind you, but you ignored him. Peter was already rushing down the stairs and you did not want to lose him. You were surprised at how difficult it was to chase someone while holding a cup that was webbed to your hand.
“Peter!” you chased him all the way down to the labs. You stopped suddenly as you saw Peter being held by your Dad.
“What have I told you guys with running in the house? There is outside for a reason!”
“He started it!”
“She started it!” you both shouted at the same time. Tony let go of Peter and rubbed his temples.
“Peter, I expect more out of you, especially when you are wearing that suit. You don’t want me to take it away, right?”
“No, Sir,” he shook his wet head.
“Now, Y/N. You’re a Stark so I do expect this from you but can you please just leave it alone? I’m so tired of this prank war you guys have going on.” Tony put air quotes around “prank war”.
“He snuck into my room through my window! He invaded my privacy and then webbed my hand to the cup!” I shook the cup furiously. You heard Peter giggle, and you shot him a death glare.
“Peter,” Tony turned to look at the frightened boy. “Say you’re sorry and I better never hear about you sneaking into my daughter’s room again, you hear me?”
“Yes, s-sir.”
“Now, go get the web dissolver and I expect you two to be on your best behavior or I will ground you both!”
“Yes, sir,” you both mumble. You follow Peter to his desk in Tony’s lab and open up a bottle that was labeled ‘web-be-gone’.
“You need a better name for this stuff,” you tease.
“Why? I like the name.” He placed a few drops on your hand and soon it was let free of the cup.
“It needs more pizazz.”
“True,” he chuckled. “I’m sorry I snuck into your room. You’re right, it was an invasion of your privacy.”
“It’s okay. I’m sorry I pushed you and threw water in your face.”
“I’m sorry I webbed your hand.”
“I’m sorry you got in trouble with my Dad.”
“I’m sorry-”
“Okay, I think that’s enough apologies,” you interrupted him, laughing. “We good?”
“We good,” Peter smiled. He raised his hand for a fist bump.
“Good.” You connected knuckles with him and pulled away while making a “whoosh” sound.

Don’t tell my dad!
Pairing: peter parker x stark!reader
Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: you overhear your Dad’s intern talking about a party, and you decide to sneak in with your best friend
Warnings: underage drinking, poorly made decisions, rebellious teens
Author’s note: it’s not really peter parker x reader, more like in a platonic friend way? I just had a dream about this happening, so I decided to write about it :) Also meet Kenzie! She is an OC and I decided to add her into this as y/n’s bff. I hope you guys enjoy it!!
Tumblr media
You had heard about the party from your Dad’s newest intern, Peter Parker, when asked about his weekend plans. He mentioned he was attending a party at a friend’s house, and you were interested immediately. You had talked to Peter a few times while passing in the tower. He was a nice guy, the same age as you, also. Both of you were 17. He didn’t strike you as the party type, but you weren’t going to question it.
You had been raised in the tower since you were five, the year your Dad had taken custody of you after the death of your Mom. Living with the Avengers and bearing the last name  ‘Stark’ meant that you never got a chance to go to school with other kids. Instead, you were homeschooled, first by your Dad, but now you were learning the complex subjects from Dr. Banner. You didn’t surprise anyone when you showed the same interest in engineering at a young age, being a Stark and all. You were greatly appreciative about the challenging schooling you received, but you regretted not developing the social skills a normal teenager would have.
You have a few friends including a best one named Kenzie, a daughter of your Father’s friend but that didn’t help with socializing. You wanted to experience a high school party, just like the ones you had seen in the movies. It was a perfect plan, you could find out the address somehow, and go along with Kenzie. Kenzie was also homeschooled but was more normal than you could ever feel.
“Are you sure it’s safe?” Kenz said as she sat beside your bed, strapping her shoes.
“Yes! My Dad is out tonight and I had FRIDAY do some research, and this guy, Flash, is known for throwing huge parties where multiple high schools go. It’s not like we are going to see anyone we know.”
“What about your Dad’s intern? Isn’t that how you heard about the party?”
You shrug, “He doesn’t seem like the party type so I doubt he will even show up, and if he does I’m sure we can find a way to avoid him. We can just find a corner to drink in.”
“This is so risky, Y/N!” Kenzie grabs your arm and shakes it.
“I know, it’s exciting.” You shove Kenzie off of you and you flash an annoyed smile.
“Ready?” Kenzie stands up and you nod. Both of you tiptoe down to the garage, avoiding Steve who was usually in the training facility at night. Fortunately, he wasn’t there.
“Should we take the Mercedes?” you ask Kenz who look over at you with wide eyes.
“You have a Mercedes? You have options?”
You giggle, “My Dad lets me drive any of his cars except his Lambo. We can also take the Porsche.”
“I’m good with the Mercedes, we’re trying to lay low! Plus how are we getting back if we both want to drink?”
“My Dad has programmed FRIDAY into each of his cars so it can do autopilot,” and right on cue, the car lit up with FRIDAY’s voice.
“Hello, Y/N Stark. Where are we going tonight?”
“Whoahhhh,” Kenz gasps under her breath. You repeat the address that FRIDAY had found back at the car.
“I’ll drive, FRIDAY.” You grab the wheel and rev the engine a little before pulling out of the garage into the cold streets and the starry night sky.
“I’m nervous,” Kenzie admits as you park down the street from the house. It was big and lit up with multi-colored lights. It was on an isolated street down a private drive, which was a good thing because with how loud it already was from the outside, you were certain police would show up at some point.
“It’s okay, I just need to make sure no one recognizes me and that we avoid Peter.”
“Sounds easy enough, sure, yeah, whatever you say” Kenzies’ tone is filled with sarcasm but you just roll your eyes at her.
“I’m not that famous.”
“No, of course not! Just the rightful heir of Stark Industries, no big deal!”
“C’mon, let’s just get inside and grab a drink.” You open the car door and are greeted by the chilly night air. You walk up to the angular house, flashing a smile at the group of preppy looking kids playing beer pong on the huge and perfectly manicured front lawn. The music pounds out of the crack in the door as you push it open. A kid in a colorful floral hawaain shirt spills beer over himself as he stumbles past you in the hallway. Immediately, you know you're in the right place.
“FRIDAY, check for Peter,” you whisper to the black glasses on your face. It was a good thing fashion glasses were in style, but you think to yourself that these might look a bit outdated. “Hm?” Kenzie turns to look at you. You point to your glasses and she mouths an “ohhh”. Even if you wanted to, you wouldn't be able to hear her over the music.
“We’re good, no Peter yet. I’m sure the drinks will be in the kitchen, right?” you ask and Kenz nodded. It was difficult to maneuver through the sweaty, heaving crowd but eventually, you discover the kitchen. There's a sign above the granite counter that says “live, laugh, love”. These people fuckin suck. You notice a crappy cardboard sign that says “Shot Station” written in bold sharpie.
“Should we do shots?” Kenzie asks you nervously.
“I’m down,” you smirk, letting the Stark in you take over. You remember your Dad’s famous words in your head “never do something I would do when I was your age.” Doing something you knew you weren’t supposed to do made you bubble with excitement.
You take lead and grab two tiny red solo shot glasses and fill them up with a bottle of Malibu someone pulled from the fridge. It smells strongly of coconut and alcohol.
“To being adventurous!” Kenzie shouted, raising her cup for a toast.
“Being adventurous!” you yell back, bringing the cup to your lips and letting the warm liquid slide down your throat.
“What now?” Kenzie asks.
“Let’s make a mixed drink to carry around with us and we can go explore the rest of the house. FRIDAY told me there is a game room!”
“Okay!” Kenzie agrees. You throw some lemonade and the rest of the malibu into a bigger cup, and Kenzie does the same. You hope that the drinks are for everyone, after all they are just sitting out so you don’t worry too much.
“Sorry, I made ‘em kind of strong!” you hand Kenz the drink and she takes a sip, eyes going wide.
“That’s delicious!”
“That’s why mixed drinks are dangerous.”
The two of you wander around the house, making sure to watch for Peter until you find the game room. Both of your jaw’s drop when you first open the door. There are pool tables, foosball, ping pong machines, and tables for card games.
“Hey! We’re playing a game of rage cage, want to join?” a slurred voice calls out towards the two of you.
“Us?” you and Kenz look at each other.
“Yes!”
You look over at Kenz with a questioning look, and she raises her eyebrows in a confirming manner. The people seemed nice, and you didn’t recognize any of them.
“How do we play?” you ask, taking a sip of your drink. A taller blonde guy, probably around your age as well, shuffles the cards and smiles down at you.
“You never played?”
“Nope,” you shake your head, feeling the heat bleed into your cheeks.
“It’s easy, you just try to make the ping pong ball into your cup before the person next to you, and if you don’t make it you have to chug the drink and try to make it again. If you get stacked then you have to drink.”
“Seems simple enough,” you muttered.
“Let’s do it!” Kenzie cheered, causing a few others to cheer with her. You wish you had the same charisma as her, but maybe the alcohol was already playing a role. You take another large gulp of your drink hoping you would feel something soon.
The game was confusing at first, and both you and Kenz ended up chugging about three glasses of beer before understanding. You both got a hold of it and ended up doing pretty well.
It was down to the last cup, the bitch cup as they called it, and it was your turn next. If you didn’t get the ball in the tower of red solo cups before the person next to you, you had to chug the entire cup of randomly mixed alcohol.
“No!” you shouted as the person next to you stacked their cup on top of yours.
“You gotta drink the bitch cup, bitchhh!” Kenzie sloppily points her finger into your shoulder. You looked over at her, and you could sense she was pretty drunk.
Fine!” you grab the bitch cup and everyone starts chanting “chug! Chug! Chug!” and you down the nasty drink.
“holyyy,” the everyone at the table all gasped at how fast you drank the bitch cup. You wiped your mouth and smiled with glee. You were a Stark, after all.
“I need airrrr,” Kenzie leaned on your shoulder.
“Me toooo,” the room was spinning as you started to walk out of the room, into the hallway and back towards the stairs.
“I feel so funny,” Kenzie giggled clumsily. “I feel like I can dance in the… in the sky!” She starts spinning in circles, flapping her arms like a bird.
You laugh until you can’t breathe as you watch your best friend drunkenly dance her way upstairs. Your stomach is spinning with alcohol, and you need fresh air, quickly.
“I feel sick,” you mumble to Kenzie.
“But I wanna dance!” she grabs your hands as  you reach the main floor where the music is pumping and everyone is swaying together in synchronized rhythm.
“Kenzzzz,” you groan.
“Y/N Stark, you have a blood alcohol concentration level of .228. It is best you get along home.” FRIDAY’s voice sounds in your ear. You grab your glasses and shove them in your pocket. You can hear FRIDAY objecting as her voice is muffled in your jeans.
“I need to-,” you start to tell Kenzie as you feel the contents of your stomach start to fill up to your throat and you grab your mouth as you tumble out the back door to the dark patio before falling over into the damp grass. You spill your guts into a bush the moment you reach the backyard. You know that a ton of people probably are watching you right now, but, at this point? You could care less. You wipe your mouth with the sleeve of your sweatshirt.
“Y/N?” a familiar voice calls out behind you.
“Peter!” you whip around quickly, causing you to trip over your own foot and spin right into him. Peter’s arms were around you instantly, keeping you from hitting the concrete.
“What are you doing here?” he helps you stand up.
“Please don’t tell my Dad!” you manage through clumsy lips.
“I won’t, Y/N.” He wipes a strand of hair away from your face as he studies you. You feel uncomfortable with his gaze.
“Y/N? Where are yo-oh.” Kenzie stops mid-sentence as she sees Peter holding your shoulders.
“She threw up,” Peter looks over at your friend.
“I thought FRIDAY was supposed to tell you when he was nearby,” Kenzie tries to whisper to you but fails as Peter hears her.
“What?” he looks over at you as you grab the glasses from your pocket, showing him them guiltily.
“Ah, I won’t tell your Dad! I promise! You should go home though, you’re really sick Y/N.”
“I’m fineee,” you lean into Peter’s arms, resting your head on his strong shoulder.
“Erm.” Peter’s cheeks blush, he had barely talked to you and now you were drunkenly resting in his arms.
“I wanna danceee, are you drunk too Peter?” you ask him.
“I don’t, um, drink, but I really think you and your friend should go back home. Did you drive here?”
“We took a Mercedes!” Kenzie giggled.
“Right, well how about I drive you two back home?” he suggests.
“FRIDAY can driveee,” you hiccup. Peter couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I think it would be best if a human made sure you two got home safe.”
You pout, “But Spide-” but Peter’s hand comes closing in on your mouth before you could finish your sentence.
“Let’s go!” Peter grabs your hand and Kenz’s arm and pulls both of you towards the very recognizable Mercedes.
“Hi, Peter, headed to the tower?” FRIDAY’s voice chirps over the speakers. Kenz was in the back seat laying down. You stared over at Peter, taking in the brown curls that lay gently on his forehead.
The drive back to the compound was short, but maybe that was because you had closed your eyes and dozed off a couple of times. There wasn’t music playing either, so the silence was only filled with the soft snores of Kenzie in the backseat.
“We’re here,” Peter shakes your shoulder softly, trying to wake you up from your dazed state. You could barely keep your eyes focused on the brunette in front of you.
“Kenzie” you mumble but you hear her stretching and yawning in the back.
“I’ll help you too upstairs, you’re on the third floor right, Y/N?”
You nodded, “Next to my Dad’s room.”
Peter nods, shutting the driver’s door and walking over towards the passenger side to help you out. Kenzie ends up being in a better state than you. She was able to walk but you rely on Peter to even stand up.
“You’re cute, Peter.” The words slips off your tongue as you all manage to stand upright in the elevator.
“Erm, thank you.” He scratches the back of his neck with his free hand. The elevator doors open with a ding to the third floor.
“Well, this is a surprise,” your Dad’s stern voice greets you. He walks into view with his arms crossed against his chest.
“Damnit,” you groan. You keep your eyes on the ground, avoiding your Dad’s glare.
“Hi Mister Stark, I found Y/N and Kenzie at the party and thought I should get them home safely. I made sure nothing bad happened to them!” Peter rapid fired.
“I think I will take it from here, thank you Peter,” your Dad patts his shoulder, looking up at you knowingly.
“See you around,” you slur. You almost begin to stumble over when Peter removes his arm that was holding you up, but your Dad catches you.
“Whoa there, are we drunk?” His voice has a hint of sarcasm in it.
“I don’t knowww, am I?” you giggle.
“You should sleep, same with you Kenzie. Do your parents know what happened tonight?”
“No, sir,” she shook her head.
“I won’t tell them, but take it from a parent. Being honest is better than keeping secrets. You can sleep in the guest room, I’m going to go take Y/N here, to bed.”
“Thank you, sir.” Kenzie walks down the hall towards the familiar guest room. You feel a bit guilty that you had put her in this position, but you were not expecting to get as blasted as you were. Your Dad practically carries you to your room and you lay down on the bed, feeling the warm pull of sleep immediately.
“Y/N,” your Dad begins to speak.
“Mmm, tired,” you mumble. You lay in the fetal position, head on the pillow and eyes already closed. You can hear your dad sigh heavily and feel a heavy blanket being pulled up and over your body.
“We will talk about this tomorrow and discuss consequences, but for now I’ll let you sleep. Love you, Y/N.”
“I’m sorry,” you squeak.
“I know, but we will talk tomorrow. Get some rest.”
“Okay, love you Dad.”
It didn’t take long for you to fall asleep, and even though you were mentally prepared for the lecture from your father, nothing would have prepared you for the massive hangover you were about to be greeted with in the morning.

I was doing fine...
Pairing: Josh Dun x reader
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: Angst
Summary: You were doing fine, you truly were, that was until he showed up on your front porch
Author’s note: I feel like I haven’t written angst angst in a while, so I did this? I hope you enjoy it! Feedback is appreciated :)
Tumblr media
“What are you doing here, Josh?” You say sternly, your hands resting on your hips. Your eyebrows furrow as you glare at the boy standing on your front doorstep. The rain patters behind him, splashing upon his ankles. His curly brown hair lays in front of his eyes from the weight of the water. His eyes carry guilt.
“I need to talk to you, Y/N, please let me inside.” He wipes his forehead with his sweatshirt sleeve. Half of your body is hiding behind of the door as you peek around.
“I don’t know if that is the best,” you mumble, closing the door a little bit more. Josh sighs as he leans over and peers into the crack between the door and the frame. His brows eyes connect with yours, and suddenly you’re drawn in once again.
“Please.” His voice was barely audible, but you still can hear it. You nod softly and pull the door open, allowing room for Josh to enter. Your eyes are still locked with his. You are not able to look away from his gaze. You drop your hands from the door and slowly takes a step back into the entryway. Josh shuts the door softly behind him.
“Do you want to go to sit?” You eventually are able to peel your eyes away from his and glance over at the couch in your cozy living room. The sight of the couch brought back the memory of your first kiss that you shared with Josh. It was two years ago, and it was raining, just like tonight. He had invited you to go to the drive in to see one of the newest horror movies that had just been released, but the weather had other plans. Making the term rain check become literal, you two decided on heading back to your place to spend the rest of the night. He showed up with pizza and cookie dough, and make you laugh effortlessly the entire time. You remember how he had asked you to dance to a song that was playing on the record player, and your arms were wrapped around his neck. He had asked to kiss you, making sure you were comfortable with that, and it was one of the best ‘first’ kisses you had ever had.
“Y/N?” Josh’s voice snaps you out of your thoughts. You see him already sitting down on the couch, arms resting on his knees, and he was fiddling with the hem on his sleeve. “Are you going to come sit down?”
“Yeah.” You brush your hair out of your face and slowly step towards the couch. Not wanting to sit too close to Josh, you sit as far away as possible. The room is quiet, except for the raindrops prickling on the windows and the soft breaths coming from Josh.
“I need to tell you I’m sorry. I know I have told you this many times, but we ended our relationship on not so good terms and I don’t want it to be like that,” he begins to speak. The words ‘ended our relationship’ ring in your ears, and your eyes glaze over as reality hits you like a brick. About a week ago, Josh had confessed that the relationship was taking up too much of his time, and it was not healthy for him to continue being in a relationship at the moment. No matter how many times he reminded you that it wasn’t your fault and that it was just timing of life, you didn’t believe him. You tried your hardest to forget about the breakup the past week by keeping yourself busy with picking up extra shifts at work and working on your latest hobby project.
“Ended,” you murmur. The word feels foreign on your lips.
“Y/N, I know how hard it must have been for you, and I truly am sorry for breaking your hard. This past week must have been-”
“I was fine,” you cut him off. You glance over at him and notice that his eyes are wet with tears.
“What?”
“I said I was fine. I was doing perfectly fine this past week. Actually, I have been fine until you showed up.” The familiar knot begins to form in your throat, warning you that tears are about to come. You swallow hard and look down at the ground.
“I should have known, you are the strongest person I have ever met.”  His words are filled with honesty, and you have to shut your eyes hard to keep yourself from crying. You can tell he notices you are about to cry because he shifts in his seat so his knees are facing you. You feel his hand rest on your knee, rubbing small circles into your skin.
“It’s not like I don’t want to see you, Josh. I’m just trying my hardest to understand and be respectful of you. Of course, I’m broken. I love you and it’s killing me inside that we can’t be together.”
“I love you too, Y/N, and that is why I want the best for you, you know that. I’m touring so much and it’s not fair for you or me. The time,”
“Is just not right,” you finish the sentence for him. It is not the first time you have hard that come from his mouth. “I understand, Josh. I just need to be okay with it. I just don’t think I can wait around for you.”
“I’m not asking for you to wait around for me, Y/N. I want you to be happy, and that means living life the way you want and to the fullest capacity. Please promise me that you will go and live.”
You sigh and wipe your eyes, “Yes, Josh, I promise I will go and live my life. I’ll always be here if you need something though, okay? I’ll always love you, even if it just platonic.”
“I love you too, Y/N. I’m really sorry, again.”
“Please no more apologies,” you let out a small laugh. “It really is only making this harder. I mean it that I was doing fine before you showed up.”
“Should I leave?” Josh asks.
“I think it would be easier for both of us if you leave, I mean it seems like we are on good terms, right?”
Josh nods, “Yeah, I agree.” He stands up from the couch, and once you meet height with him he pulls you in for a hug. You wrap your arms around his torso and take in his familiar scent.
“I’m going to miss you, Joshua,” you mumble into his chest.
“I’ll miss you too, Y/N.” He pulls away from you but stops with his left hand on your shoulder. His brown eyes are looking into yours, and you shyly smile up at him. You watch him back up towards the door, opening it and stepping outside. You follow, resting your hand on the doorframe. Josh stopped right before taking the last step towards your driveway and looked over his shoulder. His eyebrows crumbled together as he softly smiled as if he was trying to bid farewell without words.
“Bye, Josh.” You continue to keep your strength and not cry as you watch him get into his car and drive away. You wish he said bye with words, but maybe it was best that his last words were that he will miss you, and not the reality of saying goodbye.
You close the front door and rest your back against the wood. Taking a deep breath, you place your face into your hands and let out a scream. You weren’t sure why your body had chosen anger over sadness as the emotion to with his departure, but you didn’t fight it. It was surprisingly making it easier to accept the fact that Josh was gone, and you most likely were never going to see him again

Sweet Sixteen
Tumblr media
Pairing: IronDad! X Stark!reader
Word Count: 3k
Warnings: None (i’m pretty sure?) ((oh wait I think there is a singular swear word))
Summary: you’ve been begging your dad to make you a suit, and for your 16th birthday you finally receive one.
Author’s note: My first marvel fic!! I love reading stark!reader fics, so I decided to write one! I hope you guys enjoy it :)
You had been asking your Dad to design you a suit for the longest time, probably since you had turned 10. Obviously, a suit was too dangerous for a 10 year old and there was no reason for you to have one, but you envied the way your Mom and Dad were able to fly around the city.
Once you started training in self-defense, your wishes of receiving a suit grew exponentially. You wished for it every birthday, it was on every single Christmas list, and any time you would see Peter Parker in his suit you would rage with jealousy.
“He’s the same age as me!” you would whine to your Dad. He would always shush you, and remind you that Peter had powers and it was his job to protect the neighborhood. There was no reason for you to have a suit. You tried to argue that you also needed it for protection, and what if the aliens came back to earth and the Avengers needed a plus-one? Your Dad would not listen. He just argued that he would never put you in that situation, and that was the end of the story.
Most people wish for a car for their sixteenth birthday, but not you. When your Dad asks you what you wanted, you handed him a piece of paper that was titled ‘Birthday List’. There was only one thing written there. “suit”.
*********************************
“Goodmorning, Y/N,” your Mom greets you as you bound down the stairs and shuffle into the kitchen. “Happy birthday!”
“Thanks,” you mumble, still half asleep. You rub your eyes as you feel a pair of arms wrap you up in a hug.
“There they are!” You were now being picked up and spun around, the room becoming swirls of color and your stomach was objecting. “You’re sixteen!”
“Dad! Put me down!” you squirm in his hands and he set you down gently. You almost topple over from the dizziness, but his hand catches you.
“Sorry, but I can’t believe you are sixteen! You know, when I was sixteen I was-”
“Do I smell bacon?” you interrupt your Dad, not wanting to hear one of his childhood stories.
“I made bacon quiches!” your mom opens the oven to check on them, and the smell makes your mouth water.
“My favorite!”
“Exactly! Do you want any coffee?” she asks and you nod.
“I can get it,” you walk over to the coffee pot and pour yourself a cup with just enough room for some hemp milk creamer.
“How does it feel to be sixteen?” your Dad asks, also grabbing a cup of coffee.
“It feels the same,” you shrug. You realize you were so distracted by your Mom and Dad that you didn’t even realize the decorations in the living room. There were clear balloons which were filled with confetti decorating the walls, along with gold streamers and two very large ones shaped like the numbers 1 and 6.
“Do you like the decorations? Sam helped me with them all night!” your Dad says after noticing your staring.
“The balloons could spell out 61,” you giggle. “Maybe they are for you, old man.”
“Excuse me? What? I am nowhere near that age!” He gets defensive.
“It’s a joke, Dad.” You laugh at how flustered he gets. You look back around at the room and notice a singular present on the coffee table. “Is that for me?”
“No, it’s for the other person in the house who is turning sixteen. Yes, it’s for you!” your Dad teases.
“Can I open it now?” you ask with wide eyes. You watch your Dad slowly look over at Pepper, asking for confirmation and she responds with a slight nod and smile.
“Go ahead!” he claps his hands together.
You walk over to the box, which was perfectly square and was a pretty average size. You shake it, and you hear something small rattle inside. Slowly, you unwrap the red and gold paper and open the lid of the box. Inside was another wrapped box, but smaller.
“You guys did not do that stupid joke,” you groan as you continue opening the gift, revealing yet another wrapped box, but even smaller. You glare over at your parents who were smirking as they watched you. Carefully, you peel off the paper and you honestly were expecting another box but instead, you are met with a small keychain.
“No way,” you gasp. You pick up the keychain and eye the silver key attached to it.
“Is that what I think it is?”
“Maybe,” your Dad chuckles.
“You got me a car?” you shout. You stand up and run to the elevator.
“Hold up,” you Dad stops you. “Follow me.”
“Aren’t we going to the garage?” you ask, confused.
“Follow me I said!” he was already walking down the stairs to the floor below which was where his lab was located.
“To your lab?” you ask, catching up to your Dad who was practically speed walking. He couldn’t stop smiling.
“I think those keys might go to something in there,” he says softly, punching in his code. You peer around his shoulder into the huge lab and see a large silver safe, like the ones he keeps his special suits in.
“Dad,” you whisper. Your brain was running a hundred miles a minute, and your heart rate was through the roof.
“There’s a code on there, but I think using the key would be more special. Go ahead!” his hand squeezes your shoulder and you slowly walk towards the silver safe. You look at the touchpad where you enter your personal ID code, next to it,  a small keyhole. Gently sliding the key in and turning it, the door to the safe opens with a whoosh.
“Holy shit,” you gawk at the platinum silver and red suit in front of you. It was smaller than your Dad’s and you knew instantly that your birthday wish had been granted.
“Do you like it?” he smirks, taking in your excitement. Your jaw was still wide open and you couldn’t stop hopping in place.
“This can’t be for real! Dad, are you serious? It’s mine!?”
“Yes! It’s all yours!”
“Oh my god!” you shriek. You feel like running around with all the excitement and energy that was bubbling inside you.
“I take it that they liked it?” Pepper’s voice rings from the doorway.
“Yes! A million times yes! Thank you so much guys!” you throw your arms around your Dad, wrapping him up in a hug.
“Anything for you,” he whispers. You release him and give Pepper a hug as well.
“Don’t thank me! This was all your Dad. He has been working on this suit for the past six months!”
“Six months?” your eyes widen.
“Why do you think you haven’t been allowed down in my lab?”
“I don’t know, top-secret Avenger stuff? I just can’t believe it! Can I try it on?”
Your Dad chuckles, “Yes, but first let me explain what it does, okay? It’s not a suit made for fighting, it’s a suit made for protection. So, while yes, you can go out flying and enjoy it, you need to be responsible. Okay?”
You nod, “Yes!” You walk over to the suit and take a better look at it. It was almost exactly like your Dad’s, but instead of red and gold, it was mostly silver with some red embellishments.
“FRIDAY is hooked up to it as well, and it can fly just like mine and Pep’s.”
“Does it have laser beams?” you ask.
“No, there’s no reason for it to have laser beams.”
“But what if-”
“No, Y/N, no what if’s. If you are not responsible for the suit, then it will be taken away from you. Understand?”
“Yes, sir,” you nod. You so badly want to try it on.
“We will have to teach you how to fly in it, it’s more difficult than you would think.”
“It looks easy when you do it,” you giggle.
“You should have seen me the first time I tried it, I literally flew all over my old garage.”
“I’ll be safe!” you plead. “I want to try it on and fly!” You grab your hands together and look up at your Dad with puppy-dog eyes.
“Okay, so here are these,” your Dad hands you two bracelets. They resemble the ones he used to wear. “I didn’t think you would want to insert machinery into your arms and these are much safer.”
“Can’t I just step into it?” you ask.
“You don’t want to feel what it’s like to have it form around you?”
“It seems nerve wracking,” you confess.
“I’ll be right here, I promise it will be okay.” Your Dad snaps the bracelets on your arms and presses a few buttons on them. “Okay, so tell FRIDAY to activate Sweet 16.”
“You named it Sweet 16?” you roll your eyes.
“It’s fitting!” he chuckles.
“FRIDAY?” you call out. “Activate Sweet 16.” A whirring sound forms behind you and you watch as the suit starts to move.
“Keep your arms out!” your Dad informs you and you do as he says. You brace yourself for impact as you see the pieces start to move, but they softly mold themselves to your body. First, the arm and leg pieces, making you shiver as the cold material touches your bare skin. You were still in your pajamas.
The chest piece was a little more rough, causing you to back up a bit.  All that was left was the helmet. You look over at your Dad who had his arm wrapped around Pepper. He was smiling softly as he watched you transform right in front of him.
“Dad?” you mumble as you prepare for the helmet.
“It’s okay!” you hear but you close your eyes as you see the helmet coming towards you. It is slow and gentle, the opposite of what you were expecting, and when you open your eyes you are welcomed with FRIDAY”s voice.
“Welcome to your suit,” her voice chimes in your ears. You look over at your parents, and Pepper had tears in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” you ask your Mom, and she just shakes her head.
“You’re just all grown up!”
“You’re embarrassing,” you mumble underneath your breath. You glance over at your Dad, who was still smiling.
“Well, how does it feel?”
“It’s cold in here,” you laugh.
“Tell FRIDAY to turn on the heater.”
“There’s a heater?” you gasp. “FRIDAY, turn on the heater!” Instantly, a warmth surrounds your body.
“Nice, huh?”
“Mmm,” you hum in agreement. You turn your head and it isn’t as heavy as you were expecting. Every time you had seen your Dad walk in his suit, it seemed like it weighed at least 80 pounds on him, but in fact it wasn’t that much at all.
“Want to learn to fly?” your Dad questions and you nod.
“Here?”
“Ha, no, not unless you want a repeat of what happened to me. Let’s go to the gym.” Your Dad follows Pepper out of his Lab and towards the elevator, and you shuffle behind. The clank of the metal against the floor was loud, and you try to take quieter steps.
“At least there is no way of you sneaking out in this,” Pepper teases.
“Mom!”
“It’s a joke, Y/N.” She turns around and flashes you a smile. You were used to her looking down at you since she was a few inches taller, but now she was looking up at your suit. It was odd.
As you ride in the elevator, you keep glancing around and watching what FRIDAY had to tell you via the screen. You were able to check on your vitals, as well as other individuals’ vitals, and it was just fascinating. It was a lot like a pair of Stark Glasses that your Dad had given you for Christmas last year, but way more advanced.
Once you arrive in the gym, you begin to sweat from the nerves of learning how to finally fly, but also because the heater was almost too hot. You tell FRIDAY to turn the heater off as you watch your dad give a short tutorial of everything the suit can do. You wish yours had all the weapons his did, but you understand why yours wasn’t equipped with deadly rockets when you were only 16.
“The rockets come from the feet and hands, and they are much more powerful than you will first expect. To hover, you need barely any propulsion. Think as if you were going to touch something very fragile, you just need to be cautious and in control,” your Dad explains. You watch in awe as he hovers a few feet above the ground, the whirring of the rockets ringing in your ears. You have seen him fly many times before, but it always interested you.
“Ready to try?” Pepper asks. You could tell she was nervous, probably because she had to deal with your Dad learning all of this for the first time. She says that he is the reason why she started to go gray early.
“I guess.”
“Don’t be nervous.” Your Dad lands softly and opens his mask so his face is visible. He puts his hand on the shoulder of your suit. “You can do this.”
“I can do this,” you repeat, nodding slowly. You close your mask and get prepared to raise off the ground slightly, but your Dad was correct with how much more powerful it was because you shot you straight up into the air, making you yelp.
“See? Powerful! Now try to hover!” your dad shouts up at you. You focus on lowering the power of the rockets, and surprisingly it works. You start to descend a bit and hover above the ground like your Dad was.
“Whoah,” you sigh to yourself.
“Nice!” Your Dad gives you a thumbs up. “Now try using more power to move around!”
“Okay.” You put a little more force and you thrust forward a bit, but as you start to practice moving you quickly get the hang of it. In about ten minutes you were able to land, take off, and fly in a circle throughout the gym.
“You’re doing so much better than I was expecting!” your Dad gives you a high five as you land and reveal your face, which was dripping with sweat.
“It’s tiring trying to figure out exactly how much power to use.”
“You’ll get used to it, want to go fly outside now?” he raises his left eyebrow.
“Tony, is that a good idea? They just learned how to fly!” Pepper interrupts, she was always super protective of you.
“Mom,”you groan. “I can do it!”
She purses her lips as she gazes back and forth between you and Tony. “Alright, but please be safe. I don’t want to have to put on a suit and come find you two all jumbled together in the middle of nowhere.”
“You can trust me, love,” Tony walks over and places a kiss on her forehead. “I will never let anything bad happen to them, or you. I promise.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Ew,” you pretend to gag as you watch your parents kiss in front of you. “Can we go now?”
Your father laughs, “Yes, grab my hand and once you get used to the feeling of flying with a heavier amount of power, then you can let go and just follow me across the city, alright?”
“Yes, sir!” You grab a hold of his suit with yours, metal fingers intertwined. The skylight of the gym opens up to reveal an opening to the sky. You mentally and physically prepare yourself for the jolt, and before you know it you are flying up in the sky following your Dad.
It was mesmerizing. The blue sky and clouds are now underneath you as your Dad pulls you higher and higher until he looks back at you. He nods and lets go of your hand, and you start to fall a little, but quickly thrust your rockets and follow behind him.
He starts to go lower, back towards the city, and you notice how tiny the people look, just like ants. Your Dad is twisting and turning between the trees, and you follow him closely, making sure to avoid the obstacles. He even does a little spin to show off, and you just giggle in your suit.
“How are you doing?” his voice breaks through the intercom in the suit.
“This is so fun!”
“Exactly! We should head home now though, once you get about 20 feet above the ground, make sure to loosen up on the rockets or you will crash into the house.”
“Okay,” you answer shakily. You only had practiced landing from about 10 feet from the ground, definitely not from about 50 feet which was where you were about now. You follow your Dad’s instructions, and when you receive the signal to slow down, you do so and even though your landing could have definitely been softer, you still avoid a crash.
“I’m so proud of you!” your Dad calls out. His mask raises and you can see the look of pure excitement on his face.
“Thank you, Dad. For everything. This is the best birthday ever.” You wrap your metal arms around your Dad as you try to hug him.
“I never thought I would hug my own kid while we both wear suits,” he chuckles.
“Can I have a fancy name like ironman? Can I be like the majestic 26?”
“Majestic 26?”
“Yeah, because Iron has the atomic number 26!”
“I think we can come up with something, we can do some brainstorming later on! Let’s go have some lunch.”
“Sounds good, Dad. Thank you so much again.”
“Of course, I’m glad you had a good sixteenth birthday. I love you infinitely.”
“I love you too, Dad. Infinitely.”

Author’s note: the last chapter! thank you for everyone who has read and supported this mini series! also keep on the lookout for my first marvel fics to be posted soon, and i might be opening up requests soon because I have just been Wanting to write lately :)
Chapter 4
You shut your blinds violently as you started to get heated. The memory of him telling you that he doesn’t have feelings for you flooded your brain and you closed your eyes to try to remove them. Was he expecting you to go down there and talk to him, or was he going to have the courage to come to your front door and face your Mom?
You didn’t tell her what had happened, but she could have easily guessed you were upset about Tyler, since you have mentioned your feelings about him before. Right as you were about to walk downstairs, you heard the doorbell ring.
“I’ll get it!” you shouted quickly, making sure your Mom would not answer it before you.
“Okay,” she yelled back. It sounded like she was also in her room, so the downstairs should be free for you to tell Tyler that you did not want to talk to him, or even see him for that matter. At least not right now.
Sucking in a breath, you grabbed the doorknob and opened it. Tyler stood there, hands in his jeans pockets, and a beanie over his ears. He kept his gaze down as he muffled a hi.
“What are you doing here?” you crossed your arms. “Look at me.”
Tyler snapped his eyes up at your bitter tone. “I came to apologize.”
“I don’t need to hear it.” You backed up into the house and started to close the door, but Tyler’s hand whipped out to stop it.
“Please, Y/N. I need to be honest with you.”
You sighed in defeat and opened the door all the way, welcoming him inside your house.
“Why are you deciding to be honest with me now?”
Tyler rubbed the back of his neck, “Because I was scared, Y/N. I messed up bad.”
“By kissing me?”
He shook his head, “No, by not telling you how I felt earlier on. For being so oblivious.”
You scoffed, “Well said.”
“You know, you could have told me how you felt too.”
“Excuse me?” you laughed at his statement.
“Like if you had feelings for me too, Y/N, why didn’t you ever tell me?”
“Because I didn’t think you shared them and I didn’t want to get rejected and ruin our friendship,” you admitted.
“That’s exactly why I didn’t tell you either.” Tyler’s voice was soft.
“So, we both just didn’t say or do anything because we both were afraid of losing each other?”
“I guess so,” Tyler nodded his head slowly. You chewed on a hangnail, trying to figure out what to say next.
“I guess I should apologize then,” you stammered. “I’m sorry, Tyler, for not telling you.”
“You don’t need to apologize though, Y/N. It was me. I was the one who lied to you and ran out on you. You didn’t deserve any of that and all I want is for you to be happy.”
Your face softened a little at hearing his words, “Do you mean that?”
“Yes, Y/N! I mean it with my whole heart and I wish I told you because it was so dumb of me to try to get over you.”
You sniffled, “What about Jen?”
“I told her the truth and we ended things.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” you whispered.
“It was the right thing to do, plus she said that she knew that I still had feelings for you so it was only fair for both of us.”
“So you do have feelings for me?” you walked over to Tyler and looked into his brown eyes.
“Yes, I do.”
You bit your bottom lip as you fought a smile, “I have feelings for you too and I can’t believe it took a simple mistake for us to finally realize it.”
Tyler chuckled, “I don’t think it was a mistake at all. That kiss felt so right, like we were doing exactly what we were supposed to.”
“We were drunk.”
“We aren’t drunk now,” Tyler tipped your chin up with his hand and you shuttered as his fingers grazed against your skin.
“This is true,” you breathed. Tyler’s lips got closer to yours.
“Can I kiss you?” he asked and you nodded.
The kiss sent sparks flying through your body, and for once, you felt a weight relieved off of your shoulders. This was what you were missing. You sighed when he pulled away, already missing the feelings of his soft lips.
“Now that was not a mistake.” You smirked.
“Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?” Tyler asked, reaching down to grab both your hands.
“Isn’t it a little soon? You just got out of a relationship less then two hours ago.”
“Okay, you’re right,” Tyler huffed. “How about a date then? We can get thai food at our favorite place tonight and then we can go back to my place and watch a movie.”
“Sounds like a date.” You stood on your tippy toes as you planted a peck on Tyler’s cheek.
“Thank you for giving me a chance,” he whispered.
“Thank you for being honest with me,” you smiled back. Tyler pulled you in for a hug, his arms wrapping around you and your head resting on his chest. His cologne filled your nose and butterflies danced in your tummy. You never wanted to let go.
“We should go to a bar again soon, too. You were pretty good on the dance floor with a few drinks in you.”
You laughed, “Sure, and then we can make even more simple mistakes.”
Tyler kissed you one last time, “that was definitely not a mistake.”
THE END.

Tumblr media
Pairing: Tyler Joseph x reader
Word Count: 1.2k
Warnings: angst
Author’s note: chapter 4! second to last chapter :) this is going by so quickly!! hope you enjoy!
Chapter 3 || next chapter
Tylers POV
“Tyler, bro, what in the name of God did you do?” Josh shouted. I flinched at his harsh words after the apartment door slammed with a thud.
“Oh my god,” I groaned into my hands. “Josh, I screwed up.”
“Yeah, you did!” Josh gestured to the door with the spatula he was holding in his hand.
“I told her I don’t have feelings for her,” I admitted. It sounded like a good idea at the time, but now I realized that I had just, yet again, lied to Y/N.
“Idiot!” Josh slapped my stomach with the same spatula.
“I need to tell Jen, right?” I looked over at my best friend with pleading eyes. I needed to hear his advice. “Josh?”
He sucked in a breath, “I think you should do the right thing.”
I wrinkled my eyebrows as I tried to make sense of his answer. “What?”
“You know exactly what I mean, now eat some breakfast or I’m never cooking again!” Josh threw the spatula dramatically onto the kitchen counter and walked into the living room.
I wanted to do the right thing. I really did, but I just didn’t know what the right thing was. Well, I think I had an idea but it was going to be difficult. You never wanted to hurt someone, especially someone he cares about.
I headed back to my room and grabbed my phone. I scrolled through my contacts until her name popped up, the picture of us together as the contact ID. I softly clicked on it, and brought it up to my ear. The familiar ring rang in my ears until a soft voice chirped up.
“Ty?”
“Hi, Jen,” you sighed.
“What happened?” she sounded distressed.
“I need to be honest with you right now, Jen.”
“Okay.”
“I’m sorry because I know this is going to hurt you and please believe me that i never meant to hurt you.”
“Tyler, just tell me,” she snapped, interrupting your rambling.
“I kissed Y/N, last night, and I first thought it was a drunken kiss that didn’t mean anything but now I realized it’s because I still have feelings for them, but I don’t want to be lying to myself anymore, or lying to you. You deserve someone who will love you unconditionally because Jen, you truly are a wonderful woman and I do love you but I am not in love with you. I’m really sorry.” I waited anxiously for her reply as all I could hear was her soft breaths on the other side of the phone.
“Tyler, I know,” she sputtered.
“What?” I was confused.
“I know you are in love with Y/N. I knew before we got together, and I know you said you were over her, but I could still sense those feelings for her. I thought maybe I was helping you get over her, but I guess I was wrong.”
It’s not like that, I thought I did get over her, but I think I was just lying to myself.”
“Exactly, Tyler,” Jen sniffled. “You need to go be with her.”
“Jen, I’m sorry.”
“No, Tyler it’s okay. I’d rather be broken up with than being lied to and wasting time.” Her voice was a mixture of disappointment and relief.
“We can still be friends right? I don’t want to lose you.”
“Yes, Ty, we can still be friends. Thank you for being honest with me. I’m not upset, maybe a little disappointed, but it’s okay.” Her tone sounded genuine.
“Thank you, Jen. Again I’m really sorry.”
“It’s okay.”
“Bye, Jen.”
“Bye, Tyler.” I held the phone to my ear for a few seconds after the buzzing came. That was one of the most difficult things i’ve ever had to do, but now I have to go to what might be the scariest thing of my life. Confess to Y/N.
I don’t know what is going to happen because I lied to them, and what if they do not want to be with me because I am a liar? What if I just lost two important people in my life?
I decided that it would be a good idea to explain to Josh what I just did, and get his input on how I should tell Y/N. Josh always knew what to do.
“I broke things off with Jen. I told her the truth,” I admitted as I sat next to him on the couch. I could feel his gaze, but I kept my eyes down.
“I knew you knew what the right thing was. You’re going to tell Y/N the truth as well, right?”
I nodded, “I just don’t know how. I don’t feel like it should be over the phone. Breaking up with Jen on the phone was already crappy enough.”
Josh hummed, “Yeah, you should go over to her place and tell her exactly how you feel and then see what happens from there.”
“I’m worried about rejection because I lied to her.” I picked at a hangnail.
“That’s why you should never ever lie, not to yourself and not to anyone.”
“Thank you, Josh. For always being there and giving me advice.” I patted his knee and then grabbed my keys on the coffee table.
“I’ll always have your back, dude. I love you.”
“I love you too, Josh. I think I need to go tell someone else I love them too,” and with that, I headed out to my car and drove over to Y/N’s house. My hands never stopped sweating.
Your POV
“Boys are so stupid!” you spoke over the phone to Y/F/N.
“Not all boys,” they giggled. “You just need to find the right person, Y/N!”
“But Tyler is the right person. If he wasn’t then I would have been able to get over him years ago.” You gnawed on your bottom lip. You really wish that you were able to get over Tyler Joseph, but he was your best friend, and you had fallen in love with him. If you had been able to get over him like he got over you, then the kiss would have never happened.
“There is a reason why that kiss happened and both of you haven’t gotten over each other. Don’t you understand? You two have feelings for each other.”
“But that doesn’t mean we should do something about them!” you argued. “He lied to my face, and he also kissed another person while in a committed relationship. They say once a cheater always a cheater.”
“You’re being dramatic, Y/N, but I’m just a person and I can only tell you advice. It’s up to you if you listen.”
“Hm,” you thought for a second. Y/F/N had a point, but everything was still cloudy. You barely have gotten over the excitement of kissing Tyler in the first place.
“I need to go, Y/N, but text me if you need anything at all, okay?”
“Okay, bye.”
“Bye.”
You hung up your phone and placed it on the charger. Your screensaver flashed and you looked at the picture of you, Josh and Tyler at one of their shows. You took a second to focus on the details of Tyler. The way his eyes almost seemed to twinkle when he flashed a smile, and his hair stood up on it’s own despite the fact he doesn’t wear any product in it. You could practically remember the smell of the cologne he was wearing that exact night. He always smells good.
A honk from outside your bedroom window woke you from your daydreams. You shuffled over and pulled back the curtains to reveal a car. A car that you recognized as Tyler’s.
What was he doing here?

Simple Mistake - Ch.3
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tyler Joseph x reader
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: hangover, shouting & angst
Author’s note: chapter three :) hope you all enjoy!!
Chapter 2 || next chapter
Your POV
You jolted awake as you heard shouting coming from the hallway. The moment you sat up, a throbbing pulse formed in the back of your head. You winced out of pain and looked around at the unfamiliar room.
“What the?” you mumbled to yourself. It took you a moment to recall where you were, but soon you recognized that it was Josh’s room. You were in Tyler and Josh’s apartment.
Tyler.
You brought your fingertips to touch your lips as you remembered kissing him last night. You knew that you wanted to try to escape out of their apartment before you saw either of them, knowing that they would want to talk about last night.
The idea of changing back into the clothes you were wearing last night did not sound appealing, so wearing Josh’s pajamas would have to do. You checked your phone and realized you had a missed call from your Mom and a few texts from Y/F/N. Calling your Mom was the most important, as she had no idea where you were.
“Mom?” you spoke softly into the phone as you heard her pick up.
“Y/N! I was so scared!”
“Sorry, I had too much to drink and ended up staying over at Tyler and Josh’s.”
“I wish you could have told me! You were safe right?” she asked.
“Yes, I’m safe.”
“No, like did you use protection?”
“What? No! Gross!” you whispered-shouted into your phone. You realized your mom thought you went back to their apartment to sleep with one of them.
“I just assumed-”
“No, ew Mom, that’s so far off of what happened. I don’t really feel like talking about it, but I’ll be home in a little bit. I’m sorry for scaring you.”
“It’s okay, honey. You’re okay and that’s all that matters! Love you.”
“Love you too, Mom. Bye.”
“Bye.” Silence buzzed in your ear for a few seconds before you pulled the phone away. You needed to leave, but you could still hear Tyler and Josh talking in the hallway. Your Mom always taught you not to eavesdrop, but she also taught you not to drink too much, what’s one more mistake?
You leaned your ear against the door, trying to make out what the boys were saying.
“Can you just tell me what happened, Tyler?” Josh’s voice boomed.
“Didn’t they tell you?” Hearing Tyler made your stomach turn.
“Yes, but I want to hear it from you.”
“I kissed them, Josh! Is that what you wanted to hear? I cheated on Jen and those feelings I pushed down came right back up.”
“Tyler-”
“No, Josh, you don’t even understand!” Tyler was screaming now, pain very apparent in his tone. “I tried so hard to get over them knowing that they didn’t share the same feelings and then I started dating, and now I find out they do like me! Do you understand what situation I’m put in now! I don’t even know what to do!”
Your heart dropped as you heard those words come out of Tyler’s mouth. He just admitted to having feelings for you.
“What the hell am I supposed to do now?” you muttered under your breath. Your hand was still resting on the door knob but you slowly retreated away. Facing Tyler after hearing that he has feelings for you was the last thing you wanted to do.
You walked over to Josh’s bed and sat down, hands on your knees. With slow breaths, you tried your best to go over what had just happened in the last 24 hours.
You, Y/N, have had feelings for Tyler for the longest time but never pursued them because you knew, or thought you knew, that he didn’t share them. Tyler Joseph also has feelings for you, but tried to push them down by dating Jen, and now he has finally confessed he does in fact have feelings for you.
Tyler and you both have feelings for eachother and you two kissed last night. Drunkenly, but it was still a kiss. Maybe drunk thoughts really do bring out the sober feelings.
What would be the worst thing to happen if you went out there and saw Tyler. You would have to talk about it? Isn’t that the right thing for you to do? Or maybe because he was dating Jen that you should just pretend it never happened. Maybe you and Tyler were just meant to be really good friends.
You rubbed your temples with your fingers as all the thoughts swirled around and your hangover was making your head pound. This was all too complicated, and you wished that the kiss has never happened in the first place.
Y/F/N’s words of the feelings around Tyler hurried back to you and you threw your body back onto the bed. Texting them might be a good option, especially since you were still too scared to leave Josh’s room. You grabbed your phone from the desk and opened their messages. There were quite a few, all asking about if you were okay and if there are any updates.
Y/N: hey, sorry just woke up haha, i’m really confused and i just don’t know what to do. I’m stuck in josh’s room and i heard them have an argument
Y/F/N: dude don’t apologize but what were they arguing about?
Y/N: about the kiss. I heard tyler say he has feelings for me
Y/F/N: excuse me what!!! Bro!!!
Y/F/N: wait but jen dude…
Y/N: i also heard him say he's dating jen to try to get over me or something like that. Idk what to do!!
Y/F/N: talk to him, duh. Make sure he is honest with jen too.
Y/N: i’m scared
Y/F/N: you are a badass and i believe in you. You can do this
You smiled down at the text from your best friend. They always knew exactly what to say. With a deep breath, you swung your legs so you were standing up and headed towards the door. As if on cue, you hear a knock right as your hand landed on the handle. You slowly opened the door to reveal Tyler standing there, mid-knock, with wide eyes.
“Y/N”
“Tyler”
You both said in unison. Your cheeks blushed as you stepped to the side to allow Tyler room inside the room. Eyeing him closely as he strutted over to the window, you noticed that he was blushing as well. The tips of his ears always got bright red like a cheery.
“I wanted to apologize for last night,” Tyler started. His voice was soft, and you weren’t sure what he meant with his sentence.
“There’s no reason to apologize.”
Tyler chuckled to himself, “I’m sorry for kissing you, Y/N. I shouldn’t have done that. I have a girlfriend, and we are just friends.” His serious demeanor made your skin rise with goosebumps.
“What?” you squeaked, feeling like an ant underneath a boot.
“What do you mean ‘what?’”, he stared out the window, not wanting to make eye contact with you, knowing that the moment he landed on your E/C eyes, he would get lost once again.
“I-, we, the k-kiss was okay,” you stumbled with your words. Your heart was pumping faster.
“It was nothing, we both were drunk, and it didn’t mean anything.”
You gulped down the knot forming in the back of your throat, “Nothing at all?”
“No, Y/N, I don’t have feelings for you. I have feelings for Jen and that’s all.”
“You’re lying to yourself,” you spoke up, anger now fueling your words instead of sadness.
“What?” Tyler turned around so he was facing you, but his eyes stayed locked to his bare feet on the white carpet.
“I-I heard you!” you raised your voice a little. “Earlier today when you were talking with Josh. You admitted to having feelings!”
“Y/N,” he looked up at you. “I had feelings for you but they’re gone now. I’m sorry.”
“Tyler,” you said defeatedly. You didn’t want to believe him, he was still lying about it.
“Josh made breakfast but I think it’s best if you go now.”
Ty.” You watched him walk away from you slowly, wanting to run after him but your feet stayed where they were. This was not how you wanted the conversation to go.
Your heart felt like a glass plate that was thrown down the stairs. You weren’t exactly sure what you were the most upset about. The fact that Tyler was lying to you or the fact that Tyler doesn’t have feelings for you. Both disappointed you.
With just a few steps, you found yourself walking out of the tiny apartment, avoiding gaze with either Tyler or Josh who were both in the kitchen.
“Y/N?” Josh peeped from the kitchen, confused as to why you were rushing out the door. You shook your head as you ignored him and shut the door behind you. Tears were beginning to form but you quickly rubbed them away. You were not going to let yourself cry over Tyler Joseph.
You were partly expecting Tyler or Josh to come out after you, but in the time of calling an Uber and getting picked up, neither of them showed. You imagined that the two boys were already starting to argue about what had happened.
The moment you got back home, the questions from your Mom came but you deflected each and every one. This was the last thing that you wanted to talk about, especially with your mom. You knew she was just trying to help, but space is what you really needed. And maybe a nap.
A nap to avoid the world and ignore the consequences of a simple mistake.

Chapter 1 || next chapter
You barely had a chance to process what just happened before a wave of nausea hit you, and you moved as quickly as your legs could take you towards the restroom. You slammed open a stall and spewed your guts, which was mostly just alcohol, into the toilet.
“I’m so stupid,” you muttered. You sat on your knees in front of the toilet, and while you were sitting still, the ground beneath you was moving. You knew you had to stand up and go find your friends to take you home, but you weren’t sure if you were capable of having that fine of motor skills.
“You doing okay?” a voice chirped from outside of your stall.
“Yep,” you snapped back.
“We have to pee, get off the floor!” another voice shouted. You responded back with a groan as you lifted yourself off the floor, flushing the toilet. You opened the door and rushed out of there, forgetting about the fact that you didn’t even wash your hands.
You pushed yourself through the busy crowd, not caring about personal space or anything. Your only goal was to reach either Josh or Y/F/N. The faster you moved, the more the floor would spin underneath you, and it was difficult for you to even walk straight.
“Y/N?” You spun around quickly at the sound of your name, but the floor that your feet were once on was quickly heading to your face. Right before you landed on the floor, you collided into arms that held you up. “I got you.”
“Josh?” You looked up at the familiar face.
“Are you okay? What’s going on?” his words slurred together, but you still understood what he was asking.
You shook your head, “I want to go home.”
“Okay, let’s find Y/F/N and Tyler.”
“He’s g-gone,” you stammered. Your arm was wrapped around Josh’s shoulder as he supported you. You watched him wave Y/F/N over.
“What happened?” they asked as they moved some of your hair out of your face.
“I’m not sure but I think it’s time to go home. I’m not sure where Tyler went. Can you call an Uber while I call him?” Josh was instantly sobering up as he knew that he needed to take care of you.
“Yeah, c’mon Y/N, let’s go outside and get some fresh air.” They took your arm so it was wrapped around their neck, and their hand wrapped around your waist. You took slow and steady breaths, making sure you didn’t puke again or pass out.
It was around 2 am and the street lamps were the only source of light on the empty street. The rain was slowly falling on your face, but it felt good after you were stuck inside the hot and crowded bar.
“What happened?” they asked you. You couldn’t even lift your eyes to look at them.
“He kissed m-me.” Once you spoke those words, the tears came instantly. Y/F/N’s arms were around you quickly, rubbing small circles into your back.
“What do you mean? Tyler did?”
You nodded, “he asked me t-to, and I d-didn’t stop him. He has a girlfriend, I’m an i-idiot.”
“You are not an idiot, you both were drunk.”
“I t-told him.” You couldn’t stop shaking your head.
“How you feel?”
“Yes, and then he kissed me!” you shouted with anger. You weren’t sure which emotion you were supposed to feel right now, as your brain felt like a jumbled mess.
“Y/N, shh, it’s okay. You can talk to him tomorrow.”
“Is everything okay?” Josh finally came outside and met up with you two.
“The uber should be here in like ten minutes, did you get a hold of Tyler?”
Josh nodded, “He took an uber home and is back at the apartment. He didn’t tell me what happened though.”
“He kissed me,” you blurted out.
“What?” Josh whipped his head around to where you were standing. He noticed your swollen, red eyes and came over to give you a hug.
“I told him that I like him and he kissed me,” you repeated once again, but this time more calmly. You were sobering up quickly, most likely because you had thrown up almost all the contents inside your stomach.
“But Jen,” Josh whispered.
“You don’t think I know that?” you shoved Josh away, tears once again forming.
“Y/N-”
“I don’t know what to do.”
“You won’t be able to do anything about it tonight,” Y/F/N spoke. “We need to just go home and we can figure stuff out tomorrow morning.”
“Okay,” you sniffled.
The Uber finally arrived and you laid on Y/F/N’s lap in the back, while Josh took the passenger seat.
“I don’t want to go home,” you muttered.
“Hm?” Josh turned around.
“I don’t want my Mom to see me like this and I don’t want to tell her what happened.”
“You can stay at the apartment and sleep in my bed, I can take the couch,” Josh suggested, knowing that Y/F/N didn’t have room.
“But Tyler.”
“He always sleeps in, and you can leave tomorrow morning.”
“Or you guys could talk about it tomorrow as well,” Y/F/N advised.
“I don’t ever want to face him again,” you closed your eyes tightly.
“It’s okay,” Josh reached back and rubbed your shoulder.
Once the Uber reached the boys’ apartment, you were almost sobered up. It was around 3 am, and all you wanted to do was go to sleep. You followed Josh into his apartment, knowing that Tyler was probably asleep in his room.
“Feel free to sleep in my pajamas, they’re in that drawer,” he nodded towards his dresser. “I’ll see you tomorrow morning.”
“Thank you, Josh. Goodnight.”
“Night, Y/N. Sleep well.” He started to close the door but opened it back up again. “You know, Y/N, sometimes drunk actions can reveal sober thoughts,” and then he shut the door before you could ask him what he meant.
Was he talking about Tyler’s sober thoughts? Was he saying that Tyler also shared the same feelings for you? But he was with Jen? You rubbed your temples, you really needed to get some rest before the hangover kicked in.
Josh’s clothes were huge on you, but you didn’t care. You shuffled under the comforter and closed your eyes. The memory of Tyler’s lips kissing you replayed itself over and over. The way he smelled, the way he tasted, everything, wouldn’t leave your mind.
You felt like you were exactly where you were supposed to be, and you so badly wish Tyler didn’t react the way he did. Did he kiss you only because him and Jen were fighting, or did he kiss you because he shared the same feelings? Was he going to be upset at you in the morning? Would this ruin your guy’s friendship? Questions swirled in your brain until slowly you drifted out of consciousness.
“Tyler,” you mumbled in your sleep. “I love you.”

Tylers POV
“Shit, shit, shit” I muttered under my breath as I speed-walked out of the bar, not even looking behind me. My lips were still tingling from the kiss that I just shared with Y/N. Once I was out in the fresh air, I took my phone out and scheduled the closest uber to take me to the apartment.
I was upset at myself, not for kissing Y/N, but for doing it drunk. I didn’t understand what was going on with me. Obviously, I was drunk, but was it my true feelings coming out? I thought I had gotten over Y/N a while ago, especially when I started dating Jen.
Jen.
Her face flashed in my brain. I should call her, but then again maybe I shouldn’t. It was just one kiss. One harmless kiss. Right?
The uber picked me up and I stayed silent the entire ride. Mostly because I was starting to feel nauseous from all the alcohol that was swirling in my stomach, but also because I knew if I spoke I would most likely end up crying.
I thanked my driver and rushed inside the apartment. I needed to get out of this shirt and tight jeans. The shirt that Y/N said they liked. Their voice wouldn’t leave me head.
“I like you.” They said those words directly to me. Yes, they were drunk also, but what if they meant it. What if I blew it all that time ago with being oblivious.
My stomach growled, and I remembered that I haven’t had that much to eat. It was almost one, but I decided to have some cereal. Most of the milk ended up on the counter as I drunkenly poured it into the bowl. Right before I took my first bite, my phone rang.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Tyler? Where are you?” It was Josh.
“I’m at home,” I slurred.
“Why did you leave without us.”
“I needed to leave.” I was being short with him, but I didn’t feel like explaining that I just kissed my best friend when I also have a girlfriend.
“Did it have to do with Y/N?”
“Why are you asking that?” I snapped.
“They ran out of the bathroom crying, literally fell into me.”
I gulped, “I don’t know. I’m going to bed, be quiet when you get home.”
“Tyler, man.”
“I don’t want to talk about it, Josh.”
“Okay, goodnight Ty. Please be safe.”
“I will, you too. Goodnight Josh.” I hung up the phone and buried my face in my hands. I felt horrible knowing that I made Y/N cry, but I panicked and did the one thing I was good at. Running away from troubles.
I knew that I needed to sleep. I already was going to be extremely hungover in the morning, and I was going to have to talk to Jen, and Y/N most likely, and figure stuff out. I quickly finished the cereal, already sobering up from the food inside my stomach, and headed up to bed.
I quickly fell asleep with one person on my mind. Y/N. The kiss was on replay throughout the entire night in my dreams, and I woke up with one person on my mind as well.
“Y/N,” I mumbled as I slowly opened my eyes, the pain instantly rushing to my head. I groaned and flipped away from the bright sun that was shining in from the window.
I reached over to grab my phone, noticing that I had five missed calls and ten tex messages from Jen. I swore under my breath and opened them up.
Jen: Tyler?
Jen: are you home?
Jen: are you okay?
The rest of the messages were like that as well. I ran my hand through my messy bed head as I typed out a reply.
Tyler: sorry, i just woke up and my phone died last night.
Her reply was almost instant as if she was staring at her phone waiting for me.
Jen: don’t lie to me, Ty. that’s BS and we both know it. your phone was on.
I groaned and locked my phone. It was too early in the morning to deal with her, and my head was absolutely killing me. I decided that taking a shower was probably the best idea. I walked out of the hallway towards the bathroom that Josh and I share, and looked across at Josh’s room. I thought about seeing if he was awake so I could tell him what happened last night, but I decided against it.
The shower was exactly what I needed to make my body feel better physically, but my brain would not stop replaying the moments of last night. Every time I thought about the kiss, my heart would flutter and my stomach would feel like there were butterflies in it.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out that I still had feelings for Y/N, despite my best efforts of trying to get over them. The next step was to figure out what to do with these feelings. Was I supposed to break up with Jen? Was I supposed to forget about Y/N?
“Tyler?” a knock on the bathroom door broke me from my train of thought.
“What?” I shouted as I turned off the water and grabbed a towel.
“I made eggs if you want any,” Josh’s voice came from outside the door. “Also, Y/N is asleep in my bedroom.”
“What?” I shouted as I slammed open the door.

Simple Mistake - Ch.1
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tyler Joseph x reader
Word count: 2.1k
Warnings: drinking, throwing up, too much alcohol, josh dancing, and mmm i think that is it?
Author’s note: here it is!! the first chapter (of 5!) i really hope you guys enjoy and feedback is appreciated! also Y/F/N means ‘your friend’s name’ (and is gender neutral)
Chapter 2
“You look nice!” Your mom smiled at you as you slowly stumbled down the stairs. “Going somewhere?”
“Just to the bars with some friends,” you mumbled. You’ve been 21 for a while now, but it still was an odd concept that you could go drink and come back home with your parents and they would be alright with it.
“You’re not driving are you?”
“No, Tyler ordered us an uber. I believe it’s picking him up first, then Josh, and then a few others before swinging by here.”
“Be safe!” Your mom shuffled over to you and placed a soft kiss on your temple.
“I will, Mom.” You waved to her as you headed outside to sit on your porch. It was around 8 pm and the sun was starting to set. That was your favorite part about it being May, are the late sunsets. You looked out towards the sky which was painted with deep red and orange strokes.
It was silent outside. Tranquil. Your heart was fluttering as you received a text in the group message.
Josh: almost to your place, Y/N
Tyler: be ready
You smiled to yourself as you quickly typed out a response.
Y/N: waiting outside. The sunset is pretty.
Josh: almost as pretty as Tyler
Tyler: awe, thanks dude
You locked your phone and took a deep breath as you gazed back up at the sky. There were two birds flying through the distance, and you wondered if they were in love. Birds could fall in love, right?
Sometimes you wondered if you would ever have someone to fly around with, metaphorically of course. You’ve tried the dating apps, you’ve tried having your friends act like wingmen, and you have even tried meeting someone at the bars but it wasn’t your thing. You couldn’t find yourself having those feelings, the ones you felt for a certain someone.
A certain someone that you knew did not share those same feelings as you.
A certain someone that you had fallen for about two years ago. A certain someone who has had a girlfriend for the past eight months. A certain someone that you had to act like you were just best friends with.
That certain someone just happened to be Tyler Joseph.
“Y/N!” your name was shouted from a distance. As you turned your head to gaze down the street, you spotted the Uber coming out and could see Josh sticking his head out the window.
“Hey guys,” you hopped into the back seat putting yourself next to Tyler who was sitting in the middle.
“Josh decided to take two shots back at the apartment before heading out, so he has been quite something tonight,” your friend giggled from the front seat.
“Of course he did,” you shook your head and you buckled yourself in. Your hand softly grazed against Tyler’s as you were trying to snap the buckle.
“Sorry,” you both mumbled in unison. Your cheeks felt hot so you decided to open the window.
“The sunset is really something, huh?” the uber driver broke the silence in the car.
“I would call it gorge babyyy,” Josh put an emphasis on the last syllable.
“Where is Jen?” you turned to Tyler who was busy playing a game on his phone.
“She had to study for a test coming up.”
“Ah,” you bit your bottom lip trying to hide the smirk that was making its way to your face. It wasn’t that you disliked Jen, she just wasn’t your favorite person to be around. You weren’t sure if it was because you hated how optimistic she was all the time, or if it was because she was dating Tyler.
Your feelings for Tyler were only known by one other person, Y/F/N, who sat in the front seat and made eye contact with you in the rearview as they eavesdropped on the conversation. They always had pushed you to be honest with Tyler, especially since if you had been honest with him a year ago, then he would have never started dating Jen in the first place.
The issue was that you were certain Tyler did not share those same feelings that you did, despite the fact that Y/F/N and Josh has mentioned once or twice that Tyler did like you.
Josh was busy explaining a story about how he sold three guitars at once during his last shift as the car pulled up to your favorite bar. It was usually filled with younger people, so you didn’t have to worry about older creeps.
“Josh, no one cares about your story!” Tyler teased him as everyone piled out of the car. You quickly stood next to Y/F/N as you grabbed your ID out of your wallet, following the boys into the bar.
“Who wants to start with shots?” the bartender greeted you all with a smile.
“I’m down!” you raised your hand and Tyler nodded, handing the bartender his card.
“Drinks are all on me tonight, so start the tab!” he shouted over the loud music. You looked over at him with wide eyes.
“Tyler! It’s going to be so expensive!”
“Don’t worry,” he flashed a smile your way.
“I love this song!” Josh shouted. Feels Like the First Time by Foreigner came pumping out of the speakers. The bartender handed each of you a shot glass filled with a ruby red liquid.
“On 3!” Y/F/N held up their hands and slowly counted down and in unison, you all tilted your heads back as the liquid burned down your throat.
“Jesus,” you mumbled. Shots were not your forte.
“What are you going to get to drink?” Tyler turned to you and you shrugged.
“Probably a mai tai.”
“Yummy,” Tyler licked his lips and you swear you couldn’t peel your eyes away from them.
“You?”
“Going with a beer.”
“That’s not very original, Joseph,” you teased.
“I don’t plan on getting wasted, especially when I know I will end up having to take care of mister smooth over here.” He pointed his thumb over his shoulder to Josh who was already making small talk with a group of girls.
You chuckled, “He can be a handful.”
“Y/N! Come dance with me!” Y/F/N rushed over and grabbed your hand, pulling you swiftly towards the direction of the dance floor. You looked back at Tyler who seemed to be smirking as you were being dragged away.
Single Ladies by Beyonce boomed over the speakers, and you followed Y/F/N’s footsteps as they flowed with the music. You kept on taking sips of your drink, knowing that only alcohol would be able to make you feel comfortable dancing.
The lights were dim and there was a disco ball overhead that punctuated the dark club with streaks of chaotic light. You were having a good time. The more you moved, the more the shot you had taken earlier mixed with your bloodstream.
The song was finishing up, and you excused yourself to get a refill on your drink. Y/F/N followed.
“Where are the boys?” you asked, scanning the crowded bar.
“Josh is back there on the dance floor so we should go back and join him!”
“I’m not drunk enough to dance with the Josh Dun,” you cackled. You spotted him twerking in the middle of a circle.
“He’s wild,” Y/F/N sipped on their new drink. You grabbed yours from the bartender and took a long gulp, trying to ignore the burn. You never understood how people enjoyed that feeling.
“I still don’t see Tyler.” You frowned.
“Oh, there he is! He’s on his phone!” You finally spotted him, sitting at the end of the bar with a beer in his left hand and the phone in his right.
“Party pooper,” you huffed. You took another gulp of your drink and waltzed over to him.
“I’m going to the dance floor with Josh!” Y/F/N called out and you shot them a thumbs up.
“What do you think you’re doing, Joseph?” you leaned against the bar and he looked up at you.
“Hm?”
“We’re supposed to be having a good time and you look like mister frowny pants over here! Moping over your phone.”
“It’s just Jen is being difficult, I guess apparently when she said it’s fine that I came out tonight she didn’t mean it.”
“That seems toxic,” the words slipped out of your mouth without you realizing what you had said. “Sorry, that was mean.”
Tyler chuckled and took a swig from his beer, “Nah, you have a point. I shouldn’t worry about her and have a good time with my friends who care about me.”
“We do care about you!” you agreed. “Want to go dance? Josh is being a maniac as usual.”
“I need another shot, I think.” He motioned for the bartender.
“I’ll join you.” The last thing you needed right now was another shot, but you thought you would be able to let loose more.
“On 3?” Tyler hands you the glass, this time filled with a clear liquid.
“On 3,” you agreed. You both swished the liquid down, and you couldn’t help but cough.
“I’m ready now,” Tyler spoke, chasing the shot with the rest of his beer. You two squeezed your way through the sweaty crowd until you caught a glimpse of Josh and Y/F/N.
“Tyler! Y/N!” Josh threw his hands up in the air and literally skipped over to you.
“How you feeling?” you asked him.
“Dude, spectacular!” he patted Tyler on the back and went back to the dance floor.
“Yes, this song!” you squealed as Livin’ On A Prayer came on. None of your friends had planned on getting this smashed, but you didn’t seem to care too much. You let yourself go and just flowed with the music. Your hips would sway to the beat and you closed your eyes as everyone sang the chorus together.
When you opened your eyes you were met with Tyler’s staring back at you. He came over to you and grabbed your hands and continued to playfully dance with you as if you were little kids dancing at a wiggles concert.
“We’re halfway there!” you both shouted. “Living on a prayer!” You were laughing more than singing, as Tyler dramatically pretended he had an invisible microphone.
The room was now spinning and it was difficult for you to keep your balance as you kept on stumbling over your two feet.
“Grab my shoulders!” Tyler shouted over the music and you did as he said as the music picked up.
“I love this song!” you slurred. Your hand somehow got intertwined with Tyler’s and he was twirling you in a circle.
“Me too,” he giggled.
“You’re giggly when you’re drunk,” you placed your hands back on Tyler’s shoulders so you wouldn’t fall over.
“You’re silly when you’re drunk,” he teased back. You stuck your tongue out at him and he rolled his eyes.
“I like this shirt,” you mumbled. You didn’t even notice, but Tyler’s hands were now on your waist. Probably just trying to keep you up straight.
“I like your shirt too,” he spoke softly. His vision became just as blurry as yours.
“I like you,” you whispered with a smirk. You looked up at Tyler, expecting him to move away from you, but instead, you watched his brown eyes move from your eyes to gaze down at your lips.
“Is that so?” his head moved closer towards you until your noses were practically touching. The heavy scent of alcohol burned your nostrils. Your heart was racing and felt like it was going to burst out of your chest. The alcohol was making it difficult for you to figure out what was reality.
“Mhm.” You bit your bottom lip innocently. Tyler’s lips were so close to yours that you could feel his hot breath on yours. He smelled like beer.
“Kiss me,” he reached his hand up so it was cupping your cheek and guided your lips to his. They softly collided and you melted away in his arms. You had dreamt of this moment for the past two years.
The background music dissolved in with the sounds of voices singing and the only thing you actually could hear was the sound of your own heart beating uncontrollably as you stood there, kissing your best friend.
Tyler abruptly pulled his face away from his and you met with a look of shock. His eyes were wide and all you could hear was him mumble “shit” before slipping away from you, leaving you standing alone in the middle of the crowd.
What just happened?
