I've really enjoyed the last 18 months or so getting out l, finding new authors and friends. I can't ever be anything but grateful for everyone who has showed off some amazing authors who truly made my life better..
That said, I'm digging into an older book I read 15 years ago. I love everything Robert Ludlum did. What's your favorite?
So, I finally got a chance to take out my old, beat up shelves from 15 years ago with beautiful wall mounted options. This is a week in the making here. A lot of back pain, but absolutely worth it!
This is my first real kind of romance first book, and for what it is, it did the job. I was entertained.
I got through the second half of the book in a few hours today, and I was pretty entertained.
Even more so than the main story is the vivid, very well described locations. I have always wanted to go to Scotland, and this book, with its beautiful landscapes makes me want to go there even more.
I know the ending is predictable, but I don't think these books are trying to befuddle you. They're here to entertain and this does that very well.
If this wasn't a book club book, I would not have gotten past part 2. It drags on and I found myself asking "what's the point of this book?" so many times.
Even when I got the purpose, sure, it got better, and fairly interesting, but it definately isn't something I would choose to read again.
I definately liked Sea of Monsters more than Lightning Thief, and it has a great, if not expected, ending.
I like reading these books and I have actually learned so much of what I know about Greek Mythology from this series when I was younger. Sure beat a school book.
Percy, Anabeth, Grover and now Tyson have me hooked. I really want to know what's going to happen. It's been 15 years since I read the whole series, so I don't recall the ending of the series.
The characters are surprisingly deep for being a shorter book and being 13. What was I doing at 13? Not wrestling with the weight of the world, that's for damn sure. Way to go to the team from Camp Half-Blood
Classic Bev. Man, I love these stories. Every one seems to intruduce more fun characters from Pigsend. And we seem to be getting closer and closer to finding out Bev's backstory.
I really enjoy how laid back these stories are. They're so much fun and just a couple hindered pages makes for a quick read, or reread.
