Same thing happened with kurono hari over here. What little we know about him in canon is that he was raised yakuza, a sniper, VERY loyal to overhaul, willing to go along with child experimentation even if he thinks it's a fever dream for the yakuza to be on top of the food chain again. And get I've taken this and now it's a whole new character

it's kinda funny thinking about it because the version of chisaki kai i have in my head is like. i took first principles from the anime (homeless kid picked up by the yakuza, willing to hurt a child to further his goals, has this Thing about sickness and Quirks) and extrapolated to create something that in the end is very different from whatever was going on in Horikoshi's head

PREACG IT! What he really wanted was control! By creating a bullet that erases quirks and creating a cure he has perfect money maker! That's what it was all about! The yakuza was broke and basically meant nothing in the world of quirks, in order to bring the yakuza back to its former glory he needed to put them on the map again. That's why there was the LOV alliance, cause he needed their name to advertise the product

KAI CHISAKI COULDN'T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT STEALING QUIRKS!! That's just how he presented his product, it's a marketing thing.

The only thing Chisaki cares about is the status of his Yakuza, if there was a better way to grow it's power and control in the criminal world outside of the dark market, he would've gone that route.

Chisaki is a business man, he's trying to sell a big product. And to do so, the product needs a big name.

I'm tired of seeing this persona of Kai as some crazed quirk hater, if he was the yakuza would've been on some cult shit like those anti-meta people.

And to further prove my point! If he wanted all quirks gone, why would he be making and antidote?

can you imagine how weird it must have been for the rest of the hassaikai when the oyaji took chisaki home for the first time. "is that a child?" "sure is" "where did he come from?" "i found him on the street :)" and you can't question him cuz he's The Boss. meanwhile this highly traumatized autistic child is staring at you like a feral cat and barely responds when you try to talk to him

My theory/au where Chisaki was actually trying to save Eri.

(Also I'm writing this while I'm sick so please forgive any babbling)

Ok so, it starts with how Pops, the yakuza boss before Overhaul, adopted Chisaki. We don't know for sure, but I say Pops adopted him from one of Afo's orphanages.

I also say that Pops didn't want to adopt Chisaki. I think that Pops works for Afo, or was blackmailed/threatened by Afo, and was ordered to mess Chisaki up mentally, like how Afo did to Shigaraki. Afo wanted Chisaki as a potential successor of All For One, the quirk, in case Shigaraki didn't work out.

Perhaps Chisaki knows that. Perhaps he knows that Afo is trying to use him as another messed up successor. So, when Eri came along maybe Pops had plans to send her to one of those orphanages or maybe mess her up himself, orders from Afo, so she too could be a successor or potentially a nomu.

Chisaki, not wanting Eri to go through the messed up stuff he had to, developed a crazy ass plan. His plan was to draw the attention of heroes in order for Eri to be safe from Afo and all the underworld craziness. There is no escaping the yakuza and ABSOLUTELY no escaping Afo. So, he knew he was going to have to be the bad guy in order to draw the attention of heroes. He would also be able to form a drug capable of defeating Afo (woops another theory I threw in there👀). He was purposely reckless to get attention, forming alliance with the Lov, and purposely suspicious infront of heroes, him being the Worst Actor Grammy award winner of the century with Mirio and Deku, all so that they'd come for Eri. And not only did this keep Eri safe but also lock himself away from Afo.

Anyway, yeah! There it is! Finally remembered to write it. And, again, I'm sick rn so it's probably hard to read🥲 sorry about that. There are a few minor details in between that i didn't write, but that's alright, maybe I'll add them another time. Also! Please remember that I don't actually think this could be true, it's just a silly little theory I thought of, and partly an au :)

Ok so, I've been hella inactive on here, I've been unable to draw and write for the past 3 to 4 months, my sleep schedule went to shit last night was the first night in ALONG time I got a good rest. I had Alot of pressure and worries of getting into college, along with a cracking relationship with my parents, religious guilt and self inflicted isolation. Most of the time I don't think I'm that good of a person which all in all contradicts my name 'Angel'. But atleast now some of the burden has been lifted off my shoulder, yesterday i got my acceptance letter and I'll soon be going to a buisness academy! I'll be posting alot more now since exploring and sharing my ideas of my hyperficsations on here brings me alot o happiness and that's something i plan to focus on from now on!
