This was wildly imaginative and utterly scary to me as a kid. I love how off the wall everything is, the nightmare Kingdom is just.. few animated movies have ever achieved as much terror for me as the nightmare Kingdom does here. Also I want to ride on the giant train set.

Ok so there's this girl named miu who scares the hell out of me but the movie does such a great job at explaining her behavior without excusing or justifying it and managed an ending that gives her hope without rewarding her for ANY OF THE NONSENSE SHE PULLED LIKE WTF. It made me so melancholic and was rewarding to see the end.
#ballerina is really cute and so so so awful to watch as someone with a modicum of interest for the histroical period#i love it.

The Girl Without Hands
YO THE SKETCHY STYLE LIKE MORPHS WITH SCENES AND ITS COOL AS HELL, and the fairy tale is pretty brutal and the way its animated is so liquid in transitioning scenes and still manages to get the solid horror of a few elements it contains.
