How do you come up with songs?

Lucid dreams. A lot of music I do write over time, but it's very common for me to dream of melodies. I would have these visions of what the songs were supposed to look or sound like, they came to me in the form of colors, places, people or words. Sometimes all of those things. The words always followed by a melody. I recall a dream where there was fire. I was in a small, very dark club, & there was this black guy in a black suit & fedora standing next to a small stage with purple lighting, I was approaching him & his lips were moving, he was speaking to me. But I don't remember everything he said. I can only recall he'd asked me if I wanted to perform, he offered me monetary payment in return, & I hesitantly said yeah. He gave me the stage & the music I played wasn't mine. At all. It was beautiful, but it wasn't mine. The words weren't mine, but they came out of my mouth, I knew the lyrics. Then people who were dressed provocatively entered the club & that's when it started to catch fire, everyone was dancing. It's like they didn't even notice or care what was happening. They were confined there. I saw the flames so I tried to leave the stage & yell to them that it was on fire, but I couldn't, I couldn't leave. I was forced to keep singing & watch odd colored people sway & contort about, my body wouldn't do anything else. That same guy was standing off to the side watching me the whole time, he knew we were burning, he looked as if he were the one in control, the one who'd caused chaos to occur, my flesh felt weird - like needles prickling the surface, barely piercing but it didn't hurt, then I woke up. I'd still remembered the chorus to the song, that was the only part I did remember & I made a song out of it. The song is still on my laptop, I recorded it. Multiple files lay around of music that I made that isn't from my brain. I showed my mom some of it before it was finished at the time there were no words put to the instrumentals yet. Most of the time, I can remember lyrics or melodies after waking up & I'd create the song. I have no knowledge of where the ideas come from, they just come to me. It's like a creative gift, or being under the influence of another person's subconscious. It's been happening for years.

Thank you. We're working on an album, it's nearly finished, most songs are recorded, mixed, mastered, all that's left is mixing & mastering the last four. Only rough demos til then.

I mess with the production & instrumental, it's got kind of a 90s vibe, which I really like, as a 90s baby. It's a pretty well executed video for a demo. Lyrically, though, it's not my thing, there was a part like "she's feining for dick" where I stopped listening. The obligatory misogynistic lyrics for the sake of being "cool" will make me pass on an artist's music entirely. I have completely already forgotten whatever you or they were saying cause that took me out of my immersion. You could be rapping or singing about some heavy, relatable shit, but when it gets to a point where you detour & it's sexualizing women, if you don't have anything interesting to talk about, why talk? Y'know?

Thank you, I'm fine, just got bored with & never was deep into Tumblr. I'm busy working on one of the biggest business projects of my life. Haven't felt like posting, I'm not going to be doing much on here unless it's an update. I'll answer questions here & there when I get the time but that's about it for now. Also, thank you for the wishes, but we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. 😊 We'd been spending weeks decorating the house for Christmas with friends. 🎄

We're doing a few christmas trees, wreaths, some lights out front on the house that we haven't done yet, pool, wet bar, walkway & bushes, some other small decorations in the house upstairs. I did outsource the exterior lighting to a local crew, they supply all the lights & install them & take them down. A small fee but it'll save us a lot of time.

Thinking I want to switch the all green tree for a giant snowy one to match the ones with the polar bear & do all white decorations, like a winter wonderland theme, & get rid of the city for some icy shrubbery & mistletoe, might take all this down. My perfectionist side is agitated.

Is it worth going to Disneyland Paris? I’ve never been to a park but I’ve read alot about Disneyland and the theme parks’ best parts and been saving up for my birthday this december. Let me know which other ones you recommend and if you really think is worth the hype.

I can't believe you've never been to a park, you have to go! No matter which you choose. ☺️ Every park has its pros & cons, I personally like some things better about Disney Paris like HyperSpace Mountain & Big Thunder Mountain, but I think Cali is the best park, overall. I'll actually be going to Disney Florida again with my wife in December for our one year anniversary, if you go there you might run into us! 🙈 We have a few places to go before then, though.

You can't really get bad food at a Disney park, either. I'm greedy asf, so I would know. I ate this all to myself & I still have guilt, completely violated my cheat day. You ever had food so tasty you had to get a picture of it just to remember the deliciosity? 😂 I genuinely adore people who take time to add hella toppings on pizzas. They're a different breed. If you go to the Paris location you have to try Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost! Also, you need to go on the Ratatouille ride, it's so cute! One of my faves.

The parade(s) were lit, the green army dudes (do they have a name?) & the cowboys & cowgirls were jamming out. Big dick Buzz, Woody & Jesse came into view & I lost it, lmao. Some of my favorite childhood chars came through (Lion King, Toy Story was everywhere tbh, lol, Mickey, I damn near cried when Mickey appeared 😩, also Winnie the Pooh, my sweet sweet Winnie 🥹). I think Paris are one of the best when it comes to interacting with the crowd & letting people get pictures with them. They genuinely seem happy to be there. *Also I am a huge fan of the seasonal decorations & landscaping*

I recommend going during the day & night, like we did. You get to see all the sexyness of the decorations at night!

There's so much to see, I can't post everything. Just try & see as much as you can if you decide to visit this park. (Make sure to try the Jedi Burger & visit the parks' other restaurants!) We also stayed in a hotel not too far away & got to visit the Eiffel tower & a few other places, try to get a hotel that isn't too far from tourist attractions. Make sure to buy some souvenirs, too, that was one of my favorite things. ☺️

I wanna share a story that happened yesterday where I was harassed in a gas station by an aggressive black male security guard and get nonblack poc feedback bc I no longer feel safe around black men and just curious to what advice or thoughts you have.

Last night I walked inside a pilot gas station to use the restroom where I wore a yellow camo track suit with the hood up bc I was cold. The security told me to take my hood down even tho there was no policy where I could see and followed me to the restroom door and called me out my name (I heard him thru the door), after I finished in the restroom I went to confront him at the register he was hiding behind where we got into a heated verbal exchange , I cussed him out amd I hurt his ego evidently bc he felt the need to follow me outside to escalate it but I outtalked him and got in my car. I never took my hood down. I went back in the gas station with a girlfriend for water after informing her of what happened where he then tried to make me remove my hood again and tried to encourage the women at the registers to refuse me service bc I wouldn’t remove my hood, we got into it again. He was aggressive, approached me slamming his hand on the counter, got loud, and sensitive bc I got the best of him twice verbally and in the end I still got the water and never took my hood down; the nice white lady at the register took my money from my friend who paid for it, the black woman at the register was a m@mmy. He nitpicked my outfit and physical appearance but ppl passing thru wore hoods and had pants hanging off their asses, tummy shirts, brought dogs in the store, but was never harassed like I was. I don’t have a problem following a policy but I won’t follow a policy when it’s enforced on me but no one else. So I called the police and they told me to file a complaint with corporate and see what I can do about it so I will be calling them in the morning. Did I mention the security tried to get me banned for trespassing just bc i didn’t back down and verbally whooped him?? LOLL!!! I’ll be carrying a switchblade from now on and learning to shoot a gun real soon!

I'm back (not really)! Sowwie. Hiatus, kind of. On vacation with friends/fam for my birthday (it's Oct 23rd but I celebrate the entire month cause it's the only time I get to be self centered, lol), so yeah. You're not annoying me. We've been on vacation since the 12th. My set up is back at home, so I couldn't take requests for or make any music right now even if I wanted to. Quick update (wanted to share this since I never make personal posts anymore):

The ocean sunset here is so beautiful, I love simple things like this. It looks like the sky is hand painted every day. My favorite thing here is the view (& this bathroom). As soon as you walk through the lobby it's like boom - vacation. The best thing about traveling, for me, is feeling like I'm on a high. The rooms overlook the pool & beach, the suite is a full apartment. Also obsessed with this shower & tub.

The location is so convenient cause there's tons of restaurants not far from the island & onsite. We had a poolside lunch delivered yesterday from one of the restaurants nearby & there were different healthy options available (shrimp salad, veggie rolls, sandwiches, fruit, ceviche, etc) which I love. The executive chef at the the resort has a passion for farming & local cooking so pretty much all the herbs & the greens used on-property are grown right here, in a huge greenhouse. It's so cool. New plants are springing up!

They also have a spa, golf course that was fun, gym, breakfast cafe, indoor pool, onsite activities like nature tours, fitness classes & a kids' club. We visited the spa, which was fun, I had a hot stone massage & facial while Yas had a deep tissue massage. & every night we've been bar hopping like drunks, lmao. We had scallops, steak & potatoes, bruschetta-watermelon & feta pizza with cucumber - a new favorite of mine, & cake for dessert.

It was my idea to roast marshies & make s'mores, trying to get into the fall spirit. 😏 Also, we did some fall shopping earlier in the month & let me tell you I think I have a candle problem. We bought a lot of scents. Sunrise Woods, Cinnamon Vanilla, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Caramel Pumpkin Swirl, Cinnamon Irish Cream & Vampire Blood. Vampire Blood.

I digress. We're leaving tomorrow & are going to spend the rest of the month at Disney Paris for Halloween. So I'll probably be back home sometime November & then I can do music requests (& post a really funny Pumpkin Spice video that I've been wanting to). I'm just taking a break/focusing on my life & my family. Don't wait up. 🖤
