The Sims 4 StrangerVille World Map & Description
Welcome to StrangerVille – “The only thing stranger than the people is the flora!” StrangerVille is a quiet little town with a strange problem. The residence are very friendly, but at night things start to get more interesting. If you want to find out more about this town you can find Military Personnel hanging out at the Local Bar, Scientists researching at the Local Library, and that Curio Shop stand is sure to have some strange odds and ends by the trailer park.
Welcome to StrangerVille – A seemingly normal world shrouded in secrecy. Watch the world change before you as you dig deeper and deeper into the mystery. Unravel its secrets to the world, fall in love with its charm.
Roger That – Join the all new Military Career, where your Sim can become a Grand Marshall. Or maybe take the path of a Covert Operator to keep tabs on suspicious (or maybe, not that suspicious *wink*) Sims in the world.
Leave No Stone Unturned – With the new StrangerVille Mystery Aspiration, your Sims will be in headfirst into the investigation. Can your Sims uncover what is truly behind what is plaguing the town?
Secret Lab – Locals say ever since the Secret Lab got built, the town has been…acting weird. But the only way to find out is to investigate! Traverse the lowest levels of the Secret Lab and see what hides behind the curtain.

Remove all MODS and Custom Content before updating your game

The Sims 4:
Sims will no longer be able to lie about employing each other in order to avoid marriage.
Fixed an issue where the Audio for the tutorial references skill levels for career progression.
Fixed an issue where terrain manipulation might crash the game when players were manipulating to close to the edge…
Fixed an issue where clicking various spots with terrain tools would cause an error.
The scroll bar in text messages will no longer reset the text field back to the top.
Fixed an error that would happen when adding an extended roof to the top of an object.
Corrected texture issues for the solid blue pants.
Corrected texture issues for rolled jean pants.
Corrected shadows that were being added to clothes from a few necklaces.
Fixed and error when players would switch between children that were created through genetics.
Fixed a few instances where terrain paint would not correct clear when using the bulldoze option in Build.
Fixed an error when trying to place a Nightclub on a lot that is smaller than the lot that is provided.
Fixed an error when trying to exit the pool in First Person Camera.
Corrected heavy framerate slowdown when using trims on glass roofs.
Get Famous:
Fixed a small glitch in the 24 hour live stream buff. Please excuse any technical difficulties.
You Sims acting agent will no longer give you false pay information when completing a gig. Those agents are always trying to skim a little off the top.
Fixed a texture issue with the SciFi Helmet and Straight Skirt.
Corrected placeholder text on the Celebrity Home lot Moodlet.
Fixed an issue that prevented Sims from staying longer on a gig to practice their acting skills.
Corrected text issue in the Charity Stream Moodlet.
Fixed floating Sims while wearing one of the high skirts.
Corrected Text issue in the Tiresome Energies buff from the Crystal Healing Helmet
Fixed an error when bulldozing a Denzin Pond on specific lots.
Seasons:
Fixed a few graphical issues with the ice in Seasons.
Dine Out:
Fixed an issue where the chef was unable to adjust ingredient quality when playing with older save files.
Outdoor Retreat:
Fixed an issue where nosey campers knock on your campsite door.
Fixed an error where Sims would vanish into the Forest Hideaway lot in Granit Falls.

Happy Lunar New Year! To our Chinese Simmers, and our Sims residing in Shang Simla, we wish you good fortune in 2019! Read on to discover the plenitude of newly added content that’ll ensure your Sims are ready to usher in the new year. Here at Maxis, we’ve also done some spring cleaning in preparation for the festivities… You’ll find we’ve swept away some crufty old issues that may have been causing trouble in your game.

Lunar New Year

FIXES & UPDATES
The Sims 4
The Digitalistic Sketchpad will no longer occasionally lose the majority of its interactions.
Style Influencer Career interactions that were causing child Sims to become distorted are no longer available for selection on children.
Fixed an issue where ghost Sims were unable to use a Book of Life to resurrect themselves.
Seed Packets can no longer become hidden under the ground on slightly uneven terrain.
Being insulted by the Lin-Z Smart Speaker will now cause relationship loss between the Sim and the speaker.
Wake-up routines set on the Lin-Z Smart Speaker will now continue to run, even if a Sim no longer has a high relationship with the speaker.
The Gallery has a new size filter to assist in searching for 40×40 lots.
Camera Positions saved to the “9” key could conflict with using the “9” key to raise an object in the air when the bb.moveobjects cheat is turned on. To resolve this, we’ve introduced the ability to clear out a previously saved camera position.
One caveat: The new filter will not find 40×40 lots that were uploaded to the Gallery prior to this game update.
Existing Camera Position functionality:
“Ctrl” + “5-9” will set a saved camera position.
Once a camera position has been saved…
New Camera Position functionality:
When time is paused after initially loading into a lot, pressing either the “~” or “p” keys will now unpause the game, instead of requiring that you press one of the game speed keys to unpause.
Hotkeys will no longer be able to open various Sim information panels that are locked during the Tutorial.
Fixed an issue where a Sim could become stuck in the Tutorial if they traveled to a park without taking a vacation day off from work.
Players will no longer be notified that someone has commented on their Gallery profile, if they were the ones writing a comment to their own profile.
The main menu once again includes a link to the most recent patch notes.
“5-9” keys will smoothly move the camera to that position.
“Shift” + “5-9” will immediately snap the camera to that position.
“Alt” + “5-9” will remove a previously saved camera position from the selected number.
It seems a little egotistical to comment on your own profile… but hey — we’re not judging you.

Listening to music on the Lin-Z Smart Speaker will now count towards the Listen to Music club rule.
Cats & Dogs
Pet owners should, once again, no longer have their interaction queue become filled up with interactions.
Seasons
Leaf Piles should no longer become stuck in neighborhoods.
Fixed a clipping issue that occurred when wearing the toddler’s rain boots with certain pairs of pants.
Fixed two toddler hats which were causing unintended shadows to appear on the toddler’s eyes.
Get Famous
Fixed an error that was preventing players from saving their game if their celebrity Sim had the Lifestyle Brand fame perk and had received royalty payments.
The chicken mask is now available for selection in Create a Sim.
Sims will now consider the split level coffee table as a valid surface for setting down food and books.
Updated one of the women’s skirts to no longer have its materials influenced by the boots worn by the Sim.
Fixed an issue where shirts weren’t tucking in properly to one of the pairs of men’s jeans.
Vampires
The Need Fixer Serum that’s crafted by Scientists can now be used to satisfy a Vampire’s thirst need.
Holiday Celebration Pack
A pair of jeans that was included in the 2018 update to the Holiday Celebration Pack can now be worn by male Sims.

The Sims 4: New Game Patch

Father Winter’s Babies:
With a snap of his frozen fingers they were gone. Not some. Not half. But all of his children. Gone. While that is certainly one way to abdicate parental responsibilities, it’s admittedly not the best look for the Sim with a supposedly pristine reputation. Father Winter’s PR team and media handlers have assuredly taken note of the social backlash, and a subsequent press release has stated that he will no longer banish his children.
CAS Aging:
One day you’re just a teen trying on clothes in CAS and the next thing you know: BAM – you’re an elder! While it’s true that the icy embrace of mortality inevitably comes to claim us all, it probably should not happen in CAS. So shake free from the shackles of mortal coils and live eternally once more! *Begins to sing* Here we belong, fighting to survive in a world with the darkest power. Here we are…
Terrain Paints & Laptops:
While in laptop mode the terrain paints will now display. They were just being a little shy and hiding from sight. We’ve worked with them on their confidence and offered them a cookie. It was enough to get them out from under the table and back into your game. Finicky little things. But they’re good paints.
Custom Content Hair Color Swatches:
This can now be changed again. Sims were going through their “natural look” phase and were rejecting CC hair. But all the Dev team Dads commented on how hip it looks so, needless to say, Sims want their CC back. A little reverse psychology works wonders.
Del Sol Valley National Park is now editable:
Deforestation is an important issue. But not in downtown Del Sol Valley so go ahead and change that National Park into whatever you want. (I think a nice restaurant would be fantastic provided you have that Gamepack. If not, it’s a great deal right now. Consider picking it up. #ShamelessPlug)
Jasmine? What are you doing here?
Sometimes Jasmine was showing up to conduct the Positivity Challenge instead of Millie Bobby Brown. That is no longer the case. Go home, Jasmine! You’re… confused. This isn’t your job, silly. I get it though. You’re feeling a little insecure. Some cool, new Sim appeared and you think they’re trying to show you up. Trying to take your job; your purpose even. It’s reasonable to feel upset. What isn’t reasonable, Jasmine, is pushing other Sims down so you can get to the front door first. NOT COOL! Go sit down and think about what you did. Maybe the next challenge you can come back.

Willow Creek Sim Fined for Spooking Neighbor in Costume
Magnolia police arrested and fined an old lady for trespassing on Fall 10. Law enforcement states that they made the arrest based on reports from a sim living in the neighborhood of Foundry Cove. The debacle was later proved to be a Spooky Day mismatch.

Hello Summers! Hopefully the weather isn’t too hot in your neck of the woods, because then you’d be...Simmers. *cough*
In addition to several fixes and tweaks to improve your game experience, we’ve overhauled the Gallery! This is something we’ve been working on for a while and is the first step to keep enhancing the Gallery to make it an incredible platform for this community to share its creations.
Read below to find out what we changed with the Gallery as well as various improvements throughout the game.
Gallery Update
Our goal with the Gallery is to shift the focus towards the creators making incredible content and make it easier to download the content.
We’ve re-arranged the content images so that you can now Follow the creator, Favorite the content and download the content on the front page.
We’ve moved the Search bar and popular hashtags front and center.
Popular Now is the default filter, which means you should see more fresh, different content.
We’ve renamed and re-arranged the tabs. You now have Gallery, for content, News to find out who is uploading and sharing content, your Profile (with your name), and your Library, to see your downloaded content.
We’ve updated the art and visuals throughout the Gallery.
You can now download and place Lots and Rooms from the Gallery even if you begin in Live mode. Hurray! At last!
Just a reminder in case you haven’t used the Gallery before: The Gallery will not download custom content or mods to your machine. There is a filter to see items created with custom content, but it will not install the custom content for you. So, you can rest assured that items downloaded from the gallery will not break your game.
The Sims 4
You can now move Easels into your inventory and Live Drag them, which means you can paint out and about in the world! Be sure to pick up your easel before you leave!
Removed unnecessary “seams” that appeared when wearing some full body toddler outfits.
Sims should now use the closest counter to prepare Garden Salads of any portion size.
Sims should now use the closest sink to wash dishes.
Sims should now only use a single Kitchen space to prepare a meal, even on Lots with multiple kitchens.
Get to Work
The “Ask About Suspect” interaction is now available during an APB event in the detective career.
Get Together
You can now select Hot and Cold Weather attire via the Closet.
Sims who belong to an Infamous Club no longer get the Intimidated by Fame moodlet at a gathering.
Seasons
The temperature in the Kiddie Pool is now consistent with other pools. Sims will get the “Uncomfortable Chilled” moodlet but won’t immediately begin freezing to death.
Vampires are now protected from the Sun when using an umbrella, though it probably gives things away, wouldn’t you say, Vlad?
Decorations no longer clip through the rooftops when viewing a Lot in Free Camera mode.
Electronic objects will now function properly during the rain, assuming they are indoors and beneath a roof.
Sims will no longer freeze to death while playing basketball in cold weather. One could say that as a result of their skillful play, they’re on fire.
Father Winter has been banned from all Clubs and will no longer appear when adding Sims to a club. Seems Father Winter has been naughty.
Pets will no longer stretch bizarrely while Sims are opening presents.
The Sing Together… interaction is now available on the Kinara, Menorah, and Holiday Trees when a Holiday Tradition is active.
The Flower Bunny no longer appears on random holidays and events, which is good, because Flower Bunnying is a full-time job and they were really slacking.
Sims with the Responsible Trait now have their Daily Tasks automatically completed for the Gardening Career. R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-L-E doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. Sorry, Aretha.
Sims who die while skating now die like you’d expect them to die. There was some weirdness, but now there isn’t. Just good ol’ standard death.
Sims were sometimes slipping indoors while walking TO a mud pile, which is silly. They now slip and fall like you’d expect.
Sims disturb their bees less frequently. We told them to buzz off.
Plants pollinated by bees will now evolve more quickly, which is how they bee better.
Facial hair now appears while the Hot and Cold Weather filters are active.
Banana, palm, and fern trees no longer drop leaves.
While using the randomize function with a mannequin you can now see Hot and Cold Weather options appear.
We fixed various typos in the Scouting Career. Apparently, our Scouts didn’t earn the spelling merit badge…
Handiness Whims are now completed when Handy Sims work on the Sprinklers and Weather Controller.
Jungle Adventure
Vegetarian safe options purchased from local vendors are now actually vegetarian safe.
Purchasing items from a vendor now contributes to the Jungle Explorer Aspiration progress.
Perfect Patio Stuff
Broken Sparks visual effects now go away once you repair a Hot Tub.
Backyard Stuff
Birds will once again appear when a bird feeder is placed.
Vintage Glamour Stuff
The vanity table should now apply makeup appropriately once more.
Laundry Stuff
Clothing should no longer disappear after hung on the Model T Clothesline.
