Consider the crackship/au ship of Brigitte(25) and Venture(26)... the ship needs a name.
The vibes? Ice cream and apple pie ♡
Sloan would LOVE Lindholm desserts....
Bonding over taking apprenticeships (Sloan with the Wayfinders Society, Brigitte with Rein and Overwatch).
Brigitte helping Sloan with drill repairs
Venture eager to learn about omnic history thru Brigitte's family connections (Rein, Torb, Bastion, etc.)
Sloan helping Brigitte with self confidence!
Asthmatic Sloan being allergic to cats but puts up with it bc Mitzi is adorable...
Brigitte writting Sloan doofy little love poems when they are away at work, and Sloan eating it up bc (clutches chest full of heart emojis) MI VIDA!!!!! SHE LOVES MEEE (long distance relationship)
When the two do meet up they are adorkable together. The kind of couple that makes you roll your eyes.
Brigitte doing weight training while listening to Sloan infodump about omnic history.
Gym partners... Hiking partners... life partners!!!
Sloan would pick a meaningful stone for an engagement ring <3 and I think Brigitte would really like the fairy tale romance of it all...
Idk i think it would be a cute crack ship... def au territory but do u see the vision......

It's super gross how much whitewashed bullshit still occurs in Overwatch to this day. It's been 7+ YEARS, STOP DOING THIS!!!!!
Tumblr media
This dogshit is unacceptable and who ever does management/quality checks on the art NEEDS to be fired bc how tf do you approve something like this.
This is how the skin tone should look btw:
Tumblr media
And the new skin has Sojourn's normal skin tone, so it's not lighting make the face white in that spray. It's deliberate!!!
New Symmetra sprays also lightens her skin... smfh im tired.
I'm gathering the mental energy to do a mass edit (and a ref page for characters bc it would be nice to have a master post) but god damn it it shouldn't be up to fans to fix art and not perpetuate racist, colorist art. It's not hard to fucking use a color picker tool.
These are professional artists, they should know better than to whitewash like this.

Another thing that is very important when discussing irl violence such as wars between countries, is to make sure any information that you reblog/share isn't giving away identity information. As in, full names and location of random people, HD images of faces, visuals of locations where innocents are hiding, etc.
It can be very tempting to reblog info threads on social media, but the new recordings of events coming in on social media can doxx innocents that are trying to survive, endangering them. It scares me that people online are not taking this into account when they are making info posts...
And to prove I am not being over dramatic about media doxxing: there is a reason you should never take pictures of critically endangered animals and upload the pics to social media. It is common knowledge that poachers will use (and have used) either geotags or the general background to find the location of the endangered animals from things like Twitter posts. It is a very serious issue for wildlife conservation.
So with current facial recognition technology, showing close ups of faces can endanger innocents during conflicts and AFTER conflicts as thier ID info can be saved into a list indefinitely by govt intelligence agencies. I thought this was war 101, but here is the reminder that reblogging and reposting recordings of recent attacks can doxx and endanger innocents.
There is a time and place to share such media to educate, but please be mindful in how you do it. I would recommend blackboxing out the faces of children (including ears) at the very least to protect kid's identities when making posts. Ideally do so to all citizens in pics/videos unless the person is directly making a video of themselves with the intent of sharing such information.
This isn't a "oh please tw" it's a matter of life or death as recent recordings are time sensitive information. Sorry to get so serious on a stupid art blog, but the lapse in judgment i am seeing on twt for example, is deeply worrying. Especially with recent attacks in Rafah that were insidiously timed during the super bowl so that USA/Social media trends would ignore the atrocities... please focus on protecting victims ID/location safety while boosting voices and education.

If somehow you haven’t seen by now, while the Super Bowl is being aired, Israel is striking Rafah.
The people of Palestine had been told to go there, they were promised it was safe.
And while this is happening, even though earlier several tags on Palestine were trending, only one or two are now.
I haven’t written any posts personally on Palestine myself. I didn’t feel I had anything to add here aside from reblogging and boosting whatever I can but please. We can’t forget Palestine or its people especially now.
This has gone on too long and gone much much too far MANY times and now is when we need to push harder.
Many of the heads of Western countries are either beating around the bush and wasting time, or outright denying the things the Palestinian people don’t have the privilege to ignore. They don’t have the choice to look away from their pain, or the pain of friends, family, neighbors, their country. And even through all of this they’re still trying their damn hardest just to live. And we all need to listen.
So now, especially if you live in a western country like I do, now we step it up a notch. Now is the time if you haven’t already to read up on Palestinian history. Listen to what the people of Palestine are saying. Hold firm on the boycott like never before. Any and every way you can donate, do it. eSIMs, aid, anything that will reach. Save as much evidence as you can. Videos, articles. Don’t let Zionists pretend all of this never happened.
Even if you think there’s nothing you can do, I’m telling you, keep going. Even if you feel you can only give a little, if we all give a little together it becomes much more.
Hit imperialism where it hurts. In the wallet. Follow the BDS instructions, find protests in your area if you can, boost as much information about Palestine as you can find, call your reps, and do not lose hope. The people of Palestine are not dead. They are holding on even through all this and we all owe it to them to do the same.
A Free Palestine will happen in our lifetimes. But it will be hard fought. So go out there and fight hard! The governments can’t hide from their own people forever. The companies can’t bleed cash forever. The people will win. So push until we do. Do not look away. Free Palestine

Okay I've been putting together a list of companies/industries i personally boycott bc tbh it is useful to have a list to refer back to for educational purposes.
But I also feel like I should do my due diligence and try to provide links and resources that are easily understood (not just super specific papers) to better educate, so that list will be posted when I am satisfied with my source quality.

This is so frustrating for me because I just want to play a fun open world monster tamer with cutsey visuals online, it is wild that the genre has so many immoral companies/games.
Pokemon has let me down tremendously (last mainline i bought was moon, i tried ultra moon day 1 and returned ultra moon the next day bc it was way too similar), I have tried pokemon sword (yarhar) and pokemon Scarlet (friend let me play it) and the quality is not where it should be, too much is rushed, buggy, laggy, and the cut content is so obvious.
SV dropped the ball with the story plot in later DLCs which stinks bc the initial eldritch horror Area Zero set up they had in the base game was amazing. I also really loved what the devs were able to get done with the character development bc it felt like World Ends Club character depth... but with the unethical deadlines the Pokemon game devs face, I can't see myself purchasing new pokemon games. It feels gross. I also haven't liked most mon designs these past gens, they lack the sharp angles with curves artstyle i adored in earlier gens. Think Scizor, Charmeleon, Luxray, Deoxys, Jiratchi, etc. Pokemon have become more rounded/obviously plushie-fiable and overdesigned. And the art was the main draw to pokemon for me, not the battles.
And then there was Ni no kuni mobile (I had not played the main games but I did watch playthrus, I saw the mobile game launch announcement, and was excited to try-- only for Ni no Kuni mobile to announce it was going to add a blockchain play to earn model. I instantly uninstalled it.)
And now Palworld (Pocketpair without permission lifting from a Mega Delphox fan design, company previously published an unethical ai generator party game, and the Pocketpair social medias flirted with NFTs.)
At this point I might just give up trying to financially support games. Watching youtube playthrus is free and if it's really that interesting I can try demos or yarhar.
Free to play games are probably the only games I'll be playing, but there's a whole unethical monetization practice that is common with that model too. :( i am autistic and have OCD so i take offense to games that encourages unlimited micro transactions, as it's often ppl with ocd and autism that are preyed on by these predatory monetization systems. Whales should never be normalized, Whales are gambling addicts and need help. I am really hoping Overwatch 2's monetization changes due to the recent buyout but I don't have my hopes up.
Like, I am so jaded i might just make a pokemon fangame or hobby into making my own monster tamer at this point fr lol. I have ideas for both a pokemon fangame and an original ip, I would just need to set a schedule to making it.
Pokemon fangame would be easiest I imagine, 2d game pixel sprite work is much easier than 3d modeling and I can use pre-made assets.
Original monster taming IP would be harder, probably a 2d game, bc 3d is much harder to make due to how long it takes to model and rig and animate everything.
Idk tho. Might just remain a world building hobby tbh.

The hangyu fan design stealing was disproven, but this Mega Delphox design that predates Palworld absolutely was lifted from a fandesign to make the Pal Wixen.
I will not be reposting the artists fan design, please click the link and give eyes/credit to the original fanartist!
Pyroaura98/EtherealHaze made this Mega Delphox fan design art prior to 2014, but this post was made in 2014. Either way it predates Palworld (announced 2021).
And this is the Pal design Wixen
Tumblr media
Many fan made megas for Delphox include a hat, but Wixen is obviously taking from the design EtherealHaze made because:
-The red hair strands flow into the red hat, a very unique/distinct design element of the EtherealHaze's fan design.
-The red hat incorporates the ears into it as red, just like EtherealHaze's design (most other fan designs for mega delphox leave the ears seperate and a different color)
-The orange triangle chest fur.
-The white paws INSIDE the 3d red sleeve holes, just like EtherealHaze's design.
And for reference, this the official Pokemon Delphox: note no 3d sleeve holes and black paws.
Tumblr media
It is unethical for larger companies like Pocketpair to use designs from smaller artists without consent and compensation.
TemTem received legal permission for the viral fakemon platypus line from the original artist.
Tumblr media
Palworld did not receive legal permission for the fanmade Mega Delphox design.
Just to make it clear, Pokemon themselves have made parody designs of other series monsters, and in the monster taming genre MANY games parody eachother, so I don't think Palworld parodying official Pokemon is inherently bad. It also is pretty much impossible to financially damage Pokemon with parody as Pokemon is one of the richest IPs in the world.
However, Palworld making parody of small artist's fanmon designs without consent and compensation is not ethical.
Pocketpair is a larger company taking from someone who cannot legally fight back. Pokemon can sue Palworld if it really is an issue for Pokemon, but EtherealHaze cannot do so with the same ease because good lawyers are extremely expensive, and the legal battle can be very time consuming and stressful for just one person.
TDLR; This post is meant to inform consumers about the products, I am not defending Pokemon nor Palworld nor TemTem, only aiming to inform about practices I feel are unjust. Palworld devs lifting from fan made fakemon without legal consent and compensation is unethical. If you still wish to play Palworld, please consider pirating Palworld instead of purchasing/playing online (release sales and online player numbers are used to get investors for the company/game).
Additional issues with Pocketpair's behavior towards AI and NFTs:
Pocketpair has previously published a party game that hosts an unethical generative ai art model. And no you are not 'spotting the ai art vs hand drawn art'-- that is disinformation.
In this party game every player during a round uses ai to generate images based on a given theme, except one imposter player that has to guess the theme. Then the group tries to guess which ai image was created with the imposter prompt. This game profits off of hosting an unethical generative ai image model.
Why is this generative ai model unethical?
Generative ai image models like Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, etc, are trained on open web data (scrubbing the entire internet, uses private info/copyright/NSFL content -- article linked discussing what kind of illegal NSFL content Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc has been trained on. Images of warcrimes also are used in such datasets.)
This is absolutely unacceptable and should not be supported. Datasets can absolutely be made without illegal content, truely twisted people were unwilling to make ethical datasets with legal free to use images.
Also in general, big generative ai model dev (be it text, image, etc) is notorious for abusing workers. It often exposes grossly underpaid employees to traumatic materials with no proper mental health care. Link. You can read many articles about this issue online. For reference, government intelligence workers have therapy for the traumatic content they view, so even if its ai generated, constant exposure to traumatic content is not to be taken lightly. Workers are real people.
Additionally, Pocketpair social medias have flirted with NFTs, and the CEO of Pocketpair is a founder of a cryptocurrency company called Coincheck. NFTs are scams (you purchase the receipt, not the actual item, and all NFTs loose monetary value) and if that wasn't bad enough, NFTs, Crypto, and in general Blockchain infrastructure waste a shiton of resources via proof-of-work processing, you might as well be pissing oil into the ocean. Link. That is not ethical.
It does not appear that the game Palworld itself uses unethical ai, nor has it stolen actual pokemon 3d model topology, BUT the EtherealHaze fakemon design has been lifted from without legal consent, which is enough for me to drop the game. Furthermore, I cannot trust Pocketpair as a company to not introduce unethical ai and NFTs into Palworld in the future, due to the company's past behavior.
Whether you continue to play Palworld is up to you, but as I said before, please consider pirating the game instead of purchasing or playing online, since the stats can be used to get investors for the Pocketpair company/Palworld game.

Update! Pocketpair (the developers of Palworld) created a game that hosted an unethical generative ai model a few years back. That is a solid reason to boycott Palworld, so please don't buy or play Palworld if you are against companies profitting off of unethical ai models like Stable Diffusion, etc.
Palworld as is atm doesn't seem to have any assets created by ai but that doesn't mean Pocketpair won't add them in the future, since they have a past with it. (I REALLY hope this isn't the case, but I can't put good faith trust into companies.)
I personally will not be supporting this game any further.
i predict there is going to be a solid amount of discourse about palworld and if it's a "Good Genre Deconstruction" and discourse over if it's fair that they basically stole designs and models and all sorts of stuff like that. my impressions are it seems like some cheap edgy humor for the sake of it. i feel like the genre could use a serious discussion about the ludonarrative dissonance present in pokemon but this sure does not seem to be that. second of all if these are in fact just... stolen assets and designs then like... idk, why should i care about these creatures when there was no care put into designing them.

Oh God damn it.
Please boycott Palworld, apparently Pocketpair (devs of Palworld) a few years ago(?) made a party game that hosted a generative ai art model. Fuck that. Those models (Stable diffusion, etc) are created by abusing workers, and use unethical openweb datasets (private medical data, NSFL material, copyrighted material etc all gets used in openweb datasets).
I instantly drop any series that flirts with ai. Why twitter.com waited until Palworld's release to post about the past ai bs is beyond me, I would have liked to know that before purchasing. :/ Palworld was announced YEARS ago.
I had honestly thought Craftopia was the first game Pocketpair released because the YouTube videos I had watched of playthroughs had said it was thier first game release???
And I thought generative ai models were not allowed on steam?!?! apparently Steam changed the rules to allow generative ai models/assets in games, but only if they are tagged as using ai. Ugh. Way to worsen literacy of what ai actually means! (Populating a forest with randomized trees in a video game uses generative ai, but not the unethical kind. Same premise can be done with buildings, etc.)
Sigh. Lesson learned. :( Be sure to dig up the game dev before purchasing. This is so disappointing, I wish I could refund Palworld.
Palworld as is at launch does not seem to use any ai generated art. Generative ai that produce 3d models from text prompts are no where near the quality of the creature models, so it seems all models and animations have been done by hand at least. But with the dev's past history I am very concerned that Pocketpair may incorporate ai or worse, NFTs, into Palworld or future games. :(
So yeah, please don't financially support Palworld. I don't trust Pocketpair.
