What are mild hybrids, and are they right for you?
Hybrid cars are the new wave right and there are so many different types to choose from. Among them, there is one becoming a hot topic – a mild hybrid. But what is a mild hybrid? Our Clermont Toyota specialists are Making it Simple ™ by answering your questions. Let’s get started.
Tumblr media
What is a mild hybrid and how does it work?
If you think about it like mild, medium, and hot on the electrified car scale – hot would be EVs, medium would be full hybrids, and mild would be…mild hybrids! Mild hybrids use a very small electric battery and electric motor. The electric battery charges by regenerative braking. Are you getting hungry?
Mild hybrid vs full hybrid: How do they differ?
Going on trend with food – when it comes to restaurants,  they often have different mild vs medium spice levels. But, it’s really different when it comes to mild hybrid vs full hybrid cars. To step away from the food category (we know you're hungry now…), let’s get into the difference between these two types of hybrids.
To start, full hybrids have a larger battery and a larger electric motor – which gives them a more electrified feel than mild hybrids.
Also, Clermont Toyota full hybrids can power your vehicle without gas for short distances and very slow speeds. Mild hybrids don’t have this option at all.
You’re being more eco-friendly with a full hybrid because they cut down on emissions -as noted, the electric motor can sometimes power the vehicle by itself.
You’ll save more money with a full hybrid because of the significant amount of fuel savings you’ll get. Sure, mild hybrids will cut down on some fuel costs, but not nearly as much as a 2024 Clermont Toyota full hybrid.
Back to food – you’re gonna want the medium in the end. Consider the medium choice a hybrid like the 2024 Clermont Toyota Prius.
Ready to save some gas money with a full hybrid? Call today!
We would love to help you answer any questions you may have regarding mild hybrids. Toyota doesn’t sell mild hybrids, but we have plenty of full Toyota hybrids and are expecting even more to be added to the Toyota lineup! Give us a call at (352) 404-7000. We’re located just off the Florida Turnpike at 16851 State Road 50 Clermont, FL, 34711.

Everything about it, from the special performance features, benefits, and throwback design, is incredible. We’re going to make it simple for you and break it down. Let’s get into it.
Tumblr media
What you need to know about the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition
The 2024 Clermont Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition is beautiful – inside and out. Here’s the list of features that come on the GR86 TRUENO Edition that you will be excited about:
The exterior gets some sleek features like a black-wrapped hood, black Trueno Edition side panel graphic, and black painted duckbill spoiler
When buying this car you’re going to have two color options: Halo or Track bRed with black
Available 18” 19-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, black door handles, and mirror caps.
When you step into this decked-out Clermont Toyota, you will be seated on Ultrasuede sports seats that are complemented with red leather trim.
To drive the car, you’re going to use the red-stitched shifter and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Enjoy the ‘TRUENO Edition’ logoed shift knob and all-weather floor/trunk mats that come with this sporty ride.
The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition gets upgraded technology features like an 8” touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with a premium 8-speaker sound system.
Tumblr media
2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition Special Performance Package
The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition is getting a special performance package across all models – both manual and automatic transmissions. It is specially tuned by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. But, don’t worry - if you’re not able to get your hands on the TRUENO Edition, you’ll be able to add it to the 2022/2023 Clermont Toyota GR86 that you already have. Let’s get into it:
It comes with ZF SACHS Dampers, which ensures perfect road grip and cornering behavior. This means you’re ready for whatever challenges the road presents.
It also comes with Brembo brakes, which give it a faster braking response and shorter stopping distances.
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing tuned this special performance package for you to enjoy maximized handling, ride comfort, and brake system consistency.
When is the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition coming to dealerships?
Now, the 2024 Clermont Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition is very limited with only 860 of them being manufactured. The MSRP has not been announced yet, but we predict it will be around $35k-40k because the 2023 Toyota GR86’s starting MSRP is $28,400. And it will arrive on our Clermont dealership lot in the first quarter of 2024.
Why is it being called the initial D car?
The hype around the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition is insane – especially because it celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Toyota AE86. For those who don’t know, the Toyota AE86 is the initial D car – and that’s why anime fans are gearing up to snag this Clermont Toyota sportscar. Initial D is a manga-turned-anime story of Takumi Fujiwara and his evolution of becoming a downhill racing hero with the Toyota AE86 – which coined the term ‘initial D car’.
Test Drive at the 2024 Toyota GR86 at Toyota of Clermont!
You may be able to get your hands on the 2024 Toyota Gr86 Trueno edition – follow us on social media or call Toyota of Clermont at (352) 404-7000 for updates! So, Get behind the wheel today – Toyota of Clermont is open seven days a week at 16851 State Road 50, just west of the Florida Turnpike.

Toyota of Clermont is Here to Share the Best of Toyota Supra Turbos and Upgrades
After five generations of the Toyota Supra, we think it's safe to say this car is an iconic classic. This car is sporty, versatile, and overall just cool. A great thing about the Toyota Supra is all of the upgrades at your disposal to make this vehicle more personalized and efficient. If you’re looking to upgrade this already impressive sports car, then Toyota of Clermont has you covered. Let’s talk about Toyota Supra turbos, exhausts, and more!
Tumblr media
Looking to Upgrade Your Toyota Supra Exhaust?
The Toyota Supra exhaust can be upgraded to increase fuel efficiency and engine power by improving airflow to the engine. Here are some things to consider when choosing a new Toyota Supra exhaust:
Stainless steel is the best material for a Toyota Supra exhaust because of its resistance to rust and high temperatures. Aluminized steel is a decent, less expensive option, but it's not quite as durable.
The pipe diameter is important because it affects overall gas flow. You should talk to your Clermont auto tech about which size is right for you.
Make sure the exhaust you choose is for your exact Supra model and year, otherwise installation could get really tricky.
Looking to Upgrade Your Toyota Supra Turbo?
A Toyota Supra turbo is responsible for strengthening combustion and creating more power. If you’re looking for more torque, then adding a larger Toyota Supra turbo could be just the upgrade for you!
Here are some things our Clermont Toyota auto experts think you should keep in mind when looking for a new Toyota Supra turbo:
Figure out what kind of horsepower you’re looking for, then ensure the Toyota Supra turbo you choose fits your specific vehicle
Consider how much heat will result from increasing the forced induction - you don’t want your car to suffer from the thermodynamics
Choose a compressor that will push air into the engine’s cylinders efficiently, and make sure you trust your technician before installation
Tumblr media
Looking to Upgrade Toyota Supra Air Intake?
Adding a new Toyota Supra air intake can get more power for the engine by combining airflow tubes and a filter to push more oxygen into the engine. When you are considering a Toyota Supra air intake, here are some important things to keep in mind:
Cold air is preferred because it enhances combustion
The two types of cold air intake are short ram and true. The short ram requires less fabrication work, while true air intakes need more fabrication and “plumbing”
Make sure you choose the Toyota Supra air intake that fits you specific vehicle for easy installation
Look for an air intake that utilizes the most heat-resistant materials
Straight hose options are preferable, as they make airflow more efficient
Ensure you choose a Toyota Supra air intake system that is weather resistant and protected from water
Visit Toyota of Clermont for Toyota Supra Turbos and Other Upgrades!

What kills your car battery?
Turning the key in your ignition and getting no response from your car is a pretty bad feeling - it more than likely means that your car battery is dead and you're going to need a jump, as well as possibly need a replacement battery (and maybe even a tow if you can't jump your car). But what kills your car battery? Our Orlando Toyota service techs are here to explain.
Tumblr media
#1: You have a parasitic draw. A parasitic draw is when something is drawing power from your battery when it shouldn't be. This can happen, for example, when you leave a light on after the car is turned off. The car isn't running to power the light, so the light will pull power from the car battery. Over time, this parasitic draw can weaken and eventually, drain your car battery, leaving it dead.
#2: Your alternator is going bad. Your alternator is the part of the car that charges your battery while you drive. If your alternator is not working properly, it can't charge your car battery up and eventually, the battery will die. If you think you have alternator issues, bring your car to Toyota of Clermont so we can check things out.
#3: Your battery connections are loose or bad. Over time, your car battery connections can be wiggled loose (just from driving). They can also become dirty and corroded. Either way, they can interfere with your car battery working properly. Be sure that you clean and tighten them regularly to ensure a tight connection.
Think you might need car battery service, or need a replacement? Toyota of Clermont can help. Call us today at (352) 404-7001 or stop by. We're at 16851 State Road 50.

Our top pics for the best cars for dogs
Are you car shopping? If you're the type who likes to bring four-legged friends along for the ride, then you definitely need to consider what makes a vehicle suited for pets. Toyota of Clermont is here with a guide on how to pick out the best cars for dogs.
What makes a Clermont Toyota one of the best cars for dogs?
Tumblr media
Here are the characteristics our Clermont Toyota dealership recommends looking for when it comes to the best cars for dogs:
A low height
Ground clearance is important if you have a dog that's going to be jumping into the car - some larger dogs are difficult to lift, so you want them to be able to enter and exit the car themselves. Choosing a new Toyota with a low ground clearance will work in your favor for this factor.
A durable interior
Dogs' nails can do a number on your car's interior if it's trimmed in SofTex or leather. Even a seat cover or hammock can't prevent damage sometimes. If you really want a Clermont Toyota that's suited for dogs, you should opt for fabric and seat covers or a hammock to prevent staining and dirt.
A big cargo space
Let's preface this by saying you should never put a dog in the bed of your truck or the trunk of your car. That being said, if you're SUV shopping and want one of the best cars for dogs, you should definitely look for an SUV with a large cargo area - large enough to fit a crate or carrier, or to comfortably restrain your dog in some other way.
Our recommendations? The Toyota RAV4, Camry, Highlander, and 4Runner... and if you want to see any of them in person, stop by today! Toyota of Clermont is open seven days a week at 16851 State Road 50 just west of the Florida Turnpike.

Haunted places near Clermont, FL
Spooky season is over, we get it (albeit begrudgingly). But that doesn't mean the ghosts went to hibernate for the season. If ghost-hunting in your new Toyota is the way you like to spend your weekends year round or if you just need a spooky fix, Toyota of Clermont has got your back. Check out these haunted places near Clermont to explore!
Tumblr media
#1: Harden House: The Harden House located right here in Clermont is a must-visit for paranormal fans. The ghost of John W. Hardin haunts the house, and with good reason - he was found shot in the home and his truck set on fire. His murder was never solved, so he's got a good reason to stick around, honestly. P.S. - this house was featured on Unsolved Mysteries.
#2: Rolling Acres Road: Rolling Acres Road in Lady Lake, Florida is supposedly haunted by a friendly ghost named Julia. Her bright silhouette wanders the side of the road looking a little bit lost, but before you can stop and point her in the right direction, she's gone.
#3: Windsor Tea Room: This quaint tea room in Mt. Dora has amazing tea and treats to go with it, but that's not all. Visitors have also seen ghostly figures of women in vintage outfits, as well as water glasses sliding across the table seemingly of their own volition.
#4: Church Street in Orlando: Church Street in downtown Orlando is known for having multiple haunted places, including the former Ceviche building, the train depot, Hamburger Mary's, and more. Take your new Toyota for a haunted tour!
Ready to get ghost-hunting? Find the perfect new Toyota for the job at Toyota of Clermont. We don't have ghosts (we don't think), but we've got plenty of new cars for you to explore. Visit us on your way to the Harden House - we're just off the Florida Turnpike at 16851 State Road 50!

Are electric cars really better for the environment?
If you've heard anything about electric cars, you probably know that one of their big perks is that they don't put off any emissions and as such, are better for the environment. However, are they really? Toyota of Clermont is here to explain.
Tumblr media
The answer to the question "are electric cars really better for the environment" isn't as simple as it seems. It boils down to local and non-local emissions - here's the breakdown.
🟢 In terms of local emissions, yes - electric cars really are better for the environment. They don't use internal combustion or gasoline, so they don't put out regular emissions like those types of vehicles. This means less pollution and smog.
🟢 However, when you look at non-local emissions, things get a little tricky. Electric cars have to be charged with electricity, right? And if that electricity you're using to charge is created by fossil fuels, then technically, you're still creating emissions.
🟢 There's also the issue of the batteries used in electric cars. They use lithium-ion batteries, which have to be disposed of in a specific way. They can't just be recycled or tossed into a landfill. This presents a problem in their disposal as more and more electric cars are manufactured.
Have questions about electric cars or want to get behind the wheel of one? Then it's time to call Toyota of Clermont. We're open every day until 10pm at (352) 404-7000 and you can swing by - we're just off the Florida Turnpike at 16851 State Road 50!
