“Don’t give up, and don’t lose your stubborn belief that you have a story worth telling. I’ve had so many people tell me over so many years that I didn’t have the qualities needed to be a writer. All of my writer friends and I have one thing in common: We didn’t listen to the naysayers. We kept writing. And eventually we have all been published.”

So I started the new job.
Although it wasn't as grand as I expected it to be. I felt out of place. I felt like the guidelines that needed to be followed were backwards. Have you ever heard of someone scrubbing a toilet bowl with a sponge and then WITH THE SAME SPONGE cleaning the flusher?? 🤢
I was being "taught" things that I already knew. I was cleaning the managers house. For nothing. And by god. To say she owns a cleaning company she is very very dirty.
So I swallowed my pride and called my old store manager. I got my job back.
It killed my ego a little bit. And I probably won't live it down that I left work for one single shift. Nevertheless I still did it, I just knew.
I'm back in retail. I feel like a total wally. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

I went out Christmas shopping and to grab some lunch with the girls. Got there at 13:00 and somehow after the meal and grabbing a few extras we decided to get a quick drink!
Anyway long story short, we ended up waiting for a taxi at 01:30
My drunk ass couldn't comprehend how when I got home it was 01:00.
Anyway the clocks went back. I'm tired and coffee isn't helping.
Happy Halloween you filthy animals 🎃

Just a reminder that if you have mental health issues, or are neurodivergent or both, it's 100% okay to toss out the conventional ideas of housekeeping.
Use the dishes straight from the dishwasher until it's time to fill it again.
Toss your clean clothes into baskets instead of folding them.
Shop on a daily basis if a big weekly shop is too much. Use Door Dash, Uber Eats, home delivery..
Leave your bed unmade (just change the sheets regularly, so have a few sets available to you to avoid executive function issues).
You don't need to function like your parents did in order to function like you do.

the 7 r’s of sustainability
1. refuse - if you don’t need it, refuse it. say no to flyers, plastic bags, straws, plastic cutlery etc. invest in a reusable water bottle, slow down and eat in to avoid takeaway containers, make your daily tea or coffee at home and take bags with you when you go shopping
2. reduce - can you cut down on how much you are using? buy food in bulk, eat less meat, don’t buy clothes just because they’re on sale. finding lots of little ways to reduce what you are consuming can have a big impact
3. reuse - can you reuse the product or parts of the product for another purpose? reuse empty glass jars to store food or turn old clothes into cleaning rags
4. repair - if it’s broken try and fix it before you throw it away and buy a new one
5. rot - if you can’t reuse or repair something made of natural materials, compost it. don’t send it to landfill because it can’t decompose buried under other rubbish, the greenhouse gases will just collect
6. recycle - send materials like cardboard and glass off to be chemically repurposed into new products. this process is resource intensive so it is best to reduce your recycling as much as possible, but recycling is always better than sending things to landfill.
7. rethink - if you can’t do any of the above then it’s time to rethink whether you actually need the product. find sustainable alternatives

to depression:
Just when things started to look up,
I woke up and felt more pain than yesterday,
I walk a little slower,
I look down at the floor,
Slump a little more,
Smile fades to nothing.
Just when things started to look up,
I broke down again.
