in my head the star wars equivalent of tswift is some human woman named tay’lor spiff or something and her stans are losing their minds over theories that she’s secretly a jedi singing about the horrors of war, even though she’s from a neutral system that hasn’t seen so much as a moral panic in 50 years

Alrix camouflages camp so well the other members of camp have a tendency to walk right past it after going out for firewood and hunting. He has no magic, it makes no sense that camp is there and then half an hour later it’s just…. gone.
He also likes to collect small rocks that remind him of party members and sneak them into people’s pockets when they aren’t paying attention. Occasionally this becomes a game of how many rocks can be sneak into your pockets before you notice. The record (currently) is ten.
ok i mentioned this in discord too but PLEASE tell me what your kc's #1 camp activity would be if they were a companion
agria makes actually good magical items if the player gives her the materials and coins that sprout legs and try to run away from you when you're not looking if you don't

Oh god I don’t need another work in progress.
What game/fic am I doing this for?
There should be a fanfic writing game called the showrunners challenge where someone writes a story and partway through someone else can play things like "actor leaves after 4000 more words" or "topic now too politically sensitive due to unforeseen world events" or "lost rights to that reference"

I am just now realizing the implications of this theory for the Brotherhood. A House victory of any capacity means the death of a chapter of the BoS.
This could be so interesting when a pissed off Brotherhood at the height of their power rocks up on the crusty old man in the tower hoarding pre-war tech behind an army of robots.
While I’m posting on fallout. Here’s my theory on what happened to Vegas (if it is actually abandoned like it is implied in the credits)
I think NV ended in a House victory. It would make little sense to set up the king of Vegas in the last episode of the show and then never see him again. So, House takes the dam, Vegas is powered, the NCR loses and the Legion is scattered. What happens then?
Well, House himself said that Vegas runs on the NCR’s caps. He needs the NCR’s money to keep his economy from collapsing. After all, it’s a society built on entertainment, and someone has to pay the families.
Well, if a weakened and already collapsing NCR loses the dam and then shady sands is nuked not long after? I cannot imagine that the NCR would be sticking around Vegas for long. After a last ditch attempt to take the city (hence the crashed vertibird) the NCR pulls out entirely, taking their caps with them.
With no stable supply of gamblers to entertain and fun his enterprise, it would not be long before Vegas’ economy collapses as well. Without the NCR the roads get even more dangerous. Less people are traveling, and no money is flowing. Without caps, the families running the casinos would likely turn on each other, returning to the raider tribes they once were. A second battle for New Vegas is fought until all living things are expelled from the city.
In season 2, I would guess we see a city run by robots. A forlorn Mr. House sits in his tower looking over the bright gem of the wasteland he once ruled. New Vegas is bruised, battered, but to yet beaten entirely. House will have a plan to bring the money back.
After all, the House always wins

This is exactly what I’m talking about. Absolutely no hate to OP, but the cycle of violence IS Fallout. That’s what “War Never Changes” literally means.
We are stuck in the same cycles of destroying ourselves over and over again because the greed of one person can rock nations and shape the course of the future. All it takes is one big exec with a gun to ruin the future. That’s the overseer of the fallout show. That’s the lone wanderer poisoning the water supply, the courier burning Vegas to the ground. Fallout is a story about hope, how we can rise from the ashes and build a better world yes! But it’s also a story about how we become locked in cycles of violence and strife over the greed of individuals.
The NCR was dying because it got greedy, it’s resources were stretched too thin. It was already on a knife’s edge by NV, shady sands was in decline before it was nuked. The overseer destroyed a city because he was greedy, angry, and hurt. Just like the nations of the world destroyed themselves.
Saying that nothing we did in New Vegas matters because the NCR lost a city is dumb. I’m sorry it just is. We don’t even know if the NCR is gone or if it’s just this tiny part of it.
People in fallout are trying to build something new and better all the time. The NCR is not something new. It’s the old system, it’s had its run and now it’s fucked up TWICE. Saying that bethesda doesn’t understand fallout then making your poster child of the “new better world” the NCR is a terrible argument.
For a franchise based on “war never changes” we sure do act surprised when the war doesn’t change.
Genuinely, what is the point of setting the Fallout show on the west coast if it was just going to invalidate everything that happened in the West Coast Trilogy. Shady Sands has fallen, the NCR is a memory, New Vegas is a crater in the ground. The New California Republic, Caesar's Legion, The Enclave, Mr. House, all brushed to the side for a wasteland with no semblance of human society beyond shanty-towns; with no semblance of the legitimate cities of Fallouts 2 and New Vegas. All to what end? To allow the Brotherhood of Steel to make an undeserved comeback?
If anything, I think the series should be the final nail in the coffin that Bethesda fundamentally misunderstands Fallout. In a franchise whose very nature is defined by the Atom Bomb and how it was used as a means to an end by a corrupt Capitalist system; how humanity rose from the ashes of a broken world with the dream of building something better; how our only hope for the future is to learn from our past mistakes and create a world where they can never be made again; Bethesda seems determined to keep us stuck in the past. That we should never advance past the ideals of the nation that led us to this nuclear landscape in the first place, that we should never try to make something new atop the ashes of what came before. That we should just forever stay rats scurrying in the wastes, amongst the shattered visage of Ozymandias and the fruits of his labor, looking up to what he left behind as an example of the kind of existence we should strive to create. Very telling indeed.

I feel like most of the people complaining that the tv show “ruined” the NCR and decanonized New Vegas have not actually seen the tv show or played New Vegas.
The NCR was already in a state of decline by the time we see them in game. They spent the second game of the franchise bullying towns and people into joining the republic. They’re not good guys. Better than the legion, absolutely, but they aren’t the answer to the wastelands problems. That’s the point. There are no good factions in fallout, just shades of gray.
The idea that the NCR is falling apart in the face of hostile factions, squandered resources, and internal issues isn’t a bad thing. If anything it’s inevitable. It’s the story fallout has been telling time and time again.
War never changes.

Hey writeblr :)), I'm Leah, and I'm looking for other writers to follow and interact with! My dash has been kind of bland recently, and I'm hoping to participate in some tag games with fellow writers! I don't mind reading works of any genre, as long as you're willing to discuss WIPs and swap ideas.
Some deets about me:
I write mostly fantasy
My main project's Mind of a Mercenary, a novel following the antics of cult-leader-turned-convict-mercenary Luna, after she gets caught trying to take over as major city with mind-magic
I also do a lot of short stories
I really, really, reeeaaaallllyyy love villain protags. Luna's one, for starters
Aroace and she/her
I live in Asia so my timezone is basically 12h apart from the US's
Reblog or like this if you want me to check you out and give you a follow ;) Or just tag me in a game, I don't mind

That being said, he is absolutely an eldritch being with the super power of turning art into near flawless battle strategy.
I cannot stress enough to new Star Wars fans that despite the Ahsoka show making him sound like an eldritch magic final boss, Grand Admiral Thrawn is literally just some guy. That's it. Canonically the least Force-sensitive guy in the goddamn universe, with the "Force sensitivity of a rock", employees love him, employers hate him, and his only super power is being the most autistic man ever to destroy environments
