Thank you all very much! I had a lovely birthday. One of the things I did was to go to the builders store to buy 2x4′s for some simple garden benches I’m going to make. Haven’t had time to work on them yet, but it should be interesting!
I also ate some of that ice cream cake and it was very good. :-)

Hello everyone! This is a painting that I made for an ice cream parlor for my TS3 #glenvale game. I built it next to my library - can’t remember if I’ve posted pictures of it yet! Anyway it’s called “We All Scream for Ice Cream”. Eight images from one of my fave artists on one mesh, priced at §25.

Hello everyone! I haven’t disappeared, just still taking a break from Simming! I’m finally going to post the second of 3 paintings in my series of Florence, Italy since this has been sitting in my drafts folder so long; this one is called ‘Florence Italy Artwork Trio’ and it's on a mesh by Mari @PaisleyAvenue. I never heard back from her on permission to use her mesh but several weeks ago I sent her another message stating that I would go ahead and post it and she can contact me if she wants me to remove it.
There are two version choices for a total of 6 images and it's priced at §50.

Thanks so much for all your comments! I have another painting to upload if I can ever get around to getting to it. How are you doing?
I’m doing fine; still on a break from Simming and am very behind on reading my Tumblr posts but do check in from time to time! Still having fun growing flowers and veggies from seed in my garage (although they don’t actually look like flowers and veggies yet - except maybe the cucumbers, haha. Those things grow fast!). Some are still hanging in there (a few croak or I probably inadvertently kill them somehow) so we’ll see if the ones that survive make it into the garden when it finally warms up! Got a few more things I want to try to grow from seed but today I am off to the Dentist. Just a regular cleaning today but one of my crowns broke and will be scheduling appointments for that. Boo! lol :) Take care! <3

Flashback to Maximus and Whitney McDermott’s wedding. Whitney came to Glenvale with Max and the McDermott’s after she and Max graduated from college in Riverview. After a few months they decided it was time to move out and get married, but there was no church in Glenvale yet so they got married at City Hall, by the Justice of the Peace.
That’s an Arsil role desk in the picture above; there is a judge that works at that desk (who I need to replace with a sim of my choosing!) but he wanders around a lot. And Thornton just showed up on the lot but of course he volunteered to be a witness as well. ;)

The couple returned home after the wedding. They hope to travel abroad as soon as they save up enough money but for now they’re staying right here in Glenvale.
Almost as soon as they walked in the door, Mason got frisky.
“I could just eat you up!”
“Ahhh! That tickles!” Marissa shrieked.
“You’re adorable! Let’s go to bed.”
“But I’m not really feeling sleepy yet”, Marissa said.
“Who said anything about sleeping?” Mason ducked as she playfully swatted at him.
They kissed then went upstairs to their bedroom.

My in-game weddings never look this good, so I've given up and just have private weddings now.
I’ve done so many of them now, I pretty much know what to expect and how to make things go well! But it does take some practice. I hardly ever do the private wedding thing - the first marriage in Glenvale was Max & Whitney McDermott and I just had them go to the City Hall, invited Max’s parents over using MC, and then had them get married in front of the arch I have in the judge’s office. They didn’t get a formal wedding but at least it was something. ;)

After their wedding ceremony, Mason and Marissa went in to the Reception Hall to cut the cake, then everyone sat down to have a slice.
Marissa and Mason had their first slow dance as a married couple. They were pleased to see that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves almost as much as they were.
“Are you about ready to go home, my love?”
“Hmmm”, said Marissa absent-mindedly while admiring her wedding ring. “Oh! Yes of course, darling, let’s finish our drink and go home.”

Thank you! Truth to tell, I’ve had lots of practice at weddings. But I don’t think I even had a sim stuck in the congratulatory clapping! I almost always get that glitch. Then again, I moved the camera to the next room for the reception so maybe there *was* a sim back in the church stuck in that loop. LOL

That is a very pretty venue.
Thanks! I had lots of fun building it, actually. I used Google Earth to make it similar to the church in my home town that I attended as a kid. It’s not accurate by any means but it has some similarities. :)

Thank you! I see these wedding venues sometimes with benches and I think, ‘those won’t work!” It’s one of those annoying things they shortchanged in this game IMO. Has to be a chair from the dining category. If I even came close to knowing what I was doing with code, that’s a mod that would be on my do-to list.

On Saturday morning Mason got up, got dressed, and went downstairs to make some phone calls before Marissa woke up. After she came downstairs and they finished breakfast, Mason approached her and said, "I'm really looking forward to our wedding and making a lifetime commitment to you; to us! Would you marry me ... today?"
Marisa didn't even have to think about it. "Yes!", she replied.
A few scant hours later, they stopped off at the bakery to purchase a wedding cake and then went on to the church. They weren’t sure how many would show up on such a late notice but the pews were filled.
Reverend Young officiated then the couple recited the vows they wrote for each other.
“What a lovely ceremony!”, some of the guests were heard to say.

It was the day before Snowflake Day when I switched to Marissa and Mason. They’d been in town a few weeks and already had skills and jobs so it wasn’t urgent for me to play them right away. But now that I have, I noticed that they didn’t seem to know very many sims in town yet so I thought I’d take them out and about the next day to meet some others. (My sims have Snowflake Day and Leisure Day off but work the other two holidays.)
As it turns out, I didn’t have to do that. Mason's only friend was Mayor Michelle Breckenridge and the morning of Snowflake Day he got a call from her, inviting him to a formal-wear party. So he and Marissa showed up at the designated time.
The mayor was very popular and there were lots of sims there; I had Marissa and Mason introduce themselves to several. In the picture below Marissa is talking to Abby Michaels, another new resident in town. She’s the second chef at the Lobster Dock, and she and Jordan St. Claire are friends from their college days. (She’s the sim Jordan wants to introduce to Dr. Karson; we’ll see if that goes well or not!)
Firefighter Vic Galloway was there (he’s made by @simsgal2227 and available at MTS), as was Mason and Marissa’s neighbor Carlotta Gilscarbo (that’s her with her back to the camera in the picture below). Luke and Maximus McDermott were also there, and it was quite a surprise to see the oldest Breckenridge boy Dallis at home and not out shopping!
This was cute, too! In the kitchen I discovered that one or more of the sims made or brought @icy-spicy-scalpel‘s aka icemunmun’s Berry Heart Cookies and Snowmen Cookies to the party. Love it! (The Berry Heart cookies are right behind Vic Galloway in the shot below, and the Snowmen cookies are on the counter under the window.)
Don’t love Vic’s formal outfit, though. Forgot to check that, but ITF stuff just doesn’t fit in this little village - unless he was a complete kook which he’s not, even though he does appear to be talking about arcade games out loud. While by himself in the kitchen. lol

A new couple has moved to Glenvale. Meet Melissa Gaton and Mason Sheppard. They bought a house together in the Parkview Addition and are settling in to their new home. The Parkview Addition is where Dr. Arden Karson, the Gilscarbos, and Librarian Constance Shelly bought homes. By the way, there’s actually no park yet but of course there are plans for one! ;)
They’re college sweethearts - actually they met way before they attended college. And here I was thinking they were already married, but nope - not yet.
Maybe they will be the first couple to be married at Glenvale’s church!
