Hmm. Interesting. Palestinians we’ve spoken to blame the State, and the complicit countries like the US, for their suffering. However, Zionist Israel plasters Jewish symbology all over their war crimes… Do you see how Zionism is the biggest threat to the Jewish people, when it commits atrocities as such in our name? A Palestinian disliking the sight of Hebrew or the Magen David does not even touch upon the antisemitism caused by the Zionist project itself. A Palestinian being resentful towards a Jew for the actions committed in our name doesn’t even hold weight against the rising Nazi movements in America and Europe.

I’d love to go to Palestine. The Holy Land. It would be the greatest honour to walk alongside Muslim, Druze, Catholic brothers and sisters in a liberated Palestine.

You wanna know why?

Those are literally just words made up to validate and enforce a violent occupier.

There are no "American" foods that aren't prepackaged and processed. Manoomin is native to turtle island but it isn't 'American' and it never will be. Americans did not raise and tend to it for generations, building into the very foundations of their culture. The Ojibwe did.

Americans are nothing because they have nothing and value nothing. Not land, not people, not shared cultural practices, they don't even have principles they can agree. Just money.

That's what the American identity is. A piece of paper who's value is socially constructed, unstable, and cheap.

Settlers can't be anything else because they don't value anything else, least of all the human lives that buy their comfort. Even the days they dedicated to those sacrifices are meaningless excuses for a day off or a sale. There is no humanity worth honoring without profit motive.

Israel and the Israelis are no different.

Likewise I can Google "Israeli dishes" but cous cous isn't Israeli and neither is falafel hummus or anything else like it says.

And they never will be.

Just like the olive trees will never be Israeli. The Palestinians loved the trees so much that the olive trees became a vital part of their lives. And in return, the olive trees loved the Palestinians and provided for them.

The trees are Palestinians despite the Palestinians never asking them to be. They didn't have to. And they didn't have to buy the trees or set them on fire to prove it.

You can't claim to love the earth you salt.

You can't claim what you never cared for.

You can't make the earth love you back.

And you can't steal what can never be owned.

You can change the names and play pretend all you want. A settler is a settler.

And it is impossible for a settler to be indigenous.

Whites and their liberal bootlickers are an infection. The settler is the colonizer is the genocider. Rejecting the most brutal form of direct violence means nothing when you refuse to divest from the structures created to accommodate you by invading and occupying them.

A settler's very existence is violent because they cannot exist without the colonial power that protects them. The only way to make it NOT violent is by dismantling the colonial power. Until then, your job is either to fucking leave, or work on educating yourself, amplifying the voices of the colonized, and accepting that armed resistance is a consequence of your existence. Holding placards over your head and yelling a lot at the people propagating and safeguarding the status quo that you benefit from doesn't merit you extra cookies anymore than accepting the softest punishment from a carceral system designed to torture the colonized to the point of death.

And if that makes you ask yourself "But...but I'm a settler! I'm white privileged! Does that mean MY existence is inherently violent to—" yes. It is. Take your unthreatened, unterrorized self to your whole and unbombed house with power and water and heat and food and your intact family, sit your ass down with the tub of ice cream you can afford and cry into it.

I am so torn between showing the most vulnerable moments of these heart broken and traumatised children, and making sure the world sees what Israel, the US, and the UK are doing to these children. These innocent human beings. This child has his life. For now. But is traumatised beyond measure forever more. Asking “who is left” No child should have to speak these words, let alone think them. My wish, our wish, is to take away his pain. But this can’t be done. The damage, the carnage, the barbarism is done. But we MUST keep speaking out and calling this out. Informing the world. Working towards a rapid and immediate ceasefire. This is the only way, the gut cries from the surviving children will not be increased. Not one more. A permanent and ever lasting ceasefire is the single only way. THEN we work tirelessly towards justice and accountability for all the people of Palestine. Their freedom, their statehood. Their justice.
