Yuu: Oh my god! Remember what a big controversy it was for us to have our picture taken together?

MC: Yeah, because Riddle Rosehearts like, lodged a complaint. Because alphabetically he was supposed to be in between us.

Yuu: So we said: “Ok Riddle. If you want to be between us, come to Ramshackle on Friday night and we’ll be waiting.”

MC: And then he showed up, and we were like: “Riddle, it was a joke!”

Yuu: And then we turned the sprinklers on him!

Yuu and MC: *laughing hysterically*

I still think it’s possible for Yuu/MC to overblot. I mean for Idia he was fused to the Phantom of his little brother(I mean did he have his own Phantom and then Phantom Ortho absorbed it?). So I wonder if Grim could do the same with Yuu/MC were he just attaches himself to them. (Hope this is okay to resend, sorry if I’m bothering you!)

I think the way Phantom Ortho manifested is still very unclear and not thoroughly explained even in the TWST canon, so drawing conclusions from it is a little vague as well 🤔 I believe that the Phantom is OG!Ortho (aka the dead one), who has been stewing in the Underworld with the other Phantoms for years, PLUS Robo!Ortho’s disc? It’s possible that this, along with Ortho being dead and (assumed to be) a magic user contributed to his Phantom form. It doesn’t necessarily mean that anyone can be absorbed into an Overblot, it might be that specific conditions must be met (half of the equation being magic, which, again, Yuu lacks).

I think there’s some tidbits presented in other iterations of TWST which point to OB Yuu not being possible; for example, in the manga, blot appears to eat away at both organic (grass) and nonorganic matter (fabric). It also harms the OBed character, of course, but it doesn’t automatically disintegrate them. This leads me to believe thar blot is a caustic substance to anyone and everything that isn’t the person that Overblotted to begin with. This also feeds into the idea of Ortho being an exception, not the rule—blot cannot injure a ghost and the memories contained in Robo!Ortho, as it has no tangible form, so it probably got absorbed instead since the ghost/robot could be classified as having some kind of magical energy (ie more battery to power the OB). The same likely would not apply for Yuu, who not only lacks magic (ie the OB would not be able to use them as a battery), but is also still flesh and bone, which would probably be eaten away by the blot even in a situation where Grim attaches themselves to Yuu. (And if just being in close proximity to an OBing character could cause others to get lumped in with the OB, then I find it weird that this hasn’t already happened with the like… the other 5ish OBs we’ve seen so far???)

Then, in the light novel, the opening pages describes what is probably a flash forward to OB Grim; the writing paints a scene in which Yuu is very much a separate entity from Grim; Grim is the monster that charges at them, and Yuuya describes feeling scared while figures in black robes come in to help him. Since the manga, light novel, and game basically tell the same story but just with different Yuus, there’s no reason why the broad events playing out would not the same between them; it’s just that the different mediums allow them to focus on different aspects of storytelling. Since the light novel treats Yuuya as a separate being staring into the eyes of the monster (presumed to be Grim), then I think it’s pretty safe to say that Yuuya (and thus Yuu of the game) won’t merge with Grim into one OB monstrosity. Of course, both the light novel and the manga are still very behind on the main story compared to the game, so it’s very possible that the story may diverge a lot more in the future; these observations are only based on what we currently know.

If we're going down the "Crowley is mcs dad" route, I'm assuming he's a very proud crow dad

I feel like Crowley would be like... an evil stepmother towards ttv!mc

I was trying to give him the effect of being like, the evil mastermind behind all of NRC and his character sort of just took a personality of it's own

If he is mc's father? He's thrilled that his child (adopted or not) took on many of his sadistic traits (which would be kind of cool because, assuming Crowley is a fae, that would make mc at least half fae. That would make sense on how they were able to survive their injuries and take down Crowley despite his powerful magic)(totally not me rereading through the story and realizing just how badly Yuu was beaten up,,,,,,,,). I also feel like, if they had the time, he would have tried to train them to perfect their techniques or to have some sort of relationship with them. He can have his own little henchman (child)!

Sadly, I don't think he would have the same reaction to an innocent!mc :( he would have a "kill or be killed" mindset with them, and have little to no compassion for what they go through

I don't think they would be caged, considering that the power would then be transferred into one of the other professor's hands (meaning mc technically gave them an opportunity to finally rise up in the ranks). If anything, they would be rewarded by the other professors! It would create a weird power balance through, with everyone now trying to gain the position of headmaster now that the 'current' one is gone.

In terms of the students, I think the dorms would act as their own separate entities within the school, which is why their murders tend to be isolated from the other dorms with little to no intervention (aside from, of course, yuu and their friends). Chances are, the students rarely saw Crowley or even knew who he was as they were too busy trying to survive (that and crowley wasn't nearly as present in their school lives as the other professors and sam).
