I can’t believe Kazuki Takahashi died in what appears to be a snorkeling accident of all things. v.v Yugioh was one of my earliest fandoms as a kid. I remember playing cards with the neighborhood kids and l still have a bootleg Blue Eyes, which we all knew was a fake but we still allowed it in the game because we were kids so who cares lol. I remember reading it in Shonen Jump and RPing with my friends and reading printed out copies of fanfic in class. Probably the first series I ever saw fanfiction for. The incredible popularity of the Yugioh Abridged series. It was so influential for a time. Truly up there with Pokemon when it came to paving the way for anime becoming popular and accessible in the US.

GX 109 has some really good art and animation, but I suppose that doesn't make it any less susceptible to art errors with Neos missing his arm in this shot after Cobra reacts to O'Brien starting to turn his back on his mission in his duel with Judai. I wonder where the budget for that arm we--

The DVD's cover is far more spoilerific, while the VHS' cover doesn't give much away, but is a lot more accurate in terms of who appears in these episodes. And some mild sun damage to the spine and to the barcode on the back, due to this being an ex-rental copy. PLEASE DON'T DELETE THE ABOVE COMMENTARY!

02/15/23: It's Wednesday again. And it's time to take pics of the stuff I bought today. It stared slow. My usual guy with a ton of movies didn't show up today, but I found another guy with great goods too. I spent all of my money with him. First buy was an Anime dvd and a Disney VHS of the Little Mermaid. A dollar each. I posted a pic and people got a kick out of the cassette. It's the early VHS version where one of the towers is supposedly a penis. It's basically an urban legend now. I then bought two Bluray movies for $3.00. After that it was a Jay-Z music cd and a 3rd party wii-mote for $8.00. The last place was where I spent all my money. I've bought from him before, just basic things. But this time, the guy had a whole bunch of gaming accessories. Complete and incomplete consoles, videogames of various qualities. And a shit ton of trading cards. He had quite a bit of ps4 games, but they were common stuff I could've picked up easily from gamestop. I went for his older stuff. There I found ps2, ps3 and 360 titles. He had them for $5.00 each. Average prices, bit there's a few I didn't have or would be more expensive online. So yeah I grabbed some. Sixteen games for $80 bucks. But I didn't stop there. The call of duelist was beckoning. I couldn't help but go through all of the yugioh cards the guy had. There was a plastic tub full! I haven't bought yugioh cards in years, but in the half hour I was furiously sorting them all, I pulled out hundreds of rare cards! I filled three tins full! The guy knew what he had. I tried to negotiate all three tins down to $100 bucks, he wanted $150. But we settled in the middle at $120 dollars. Yeah I can definitely see this as an impulse buy. But I'm sure I would have spent thousands more buying booster packs and tins retail. There's cards here I've never seen before, being out of the loop for years. But it will be fun looking at them.
