The triplets called me today, they heard I was better and they were hanging out with Nate and some other friends, so I decided to tag along.
It’s been 6 months on the dot since I got sober, I think they know about it. I’ve kind off disappeared from the face of the earth, changing myself, and I wasn’t sure if some people would approve.
I knock on the door and I’m greeted by Nick immediately, he engulfs me in a hug that lasts about a minute
“nick I missed you too but I think that’s enough” I laughed, trying to unwrap his arms, he eventually does it himself.

After a bit, Im left standing in front of Matt, he’s different, he’s grown a little bit of a beard, barely a beard, more like a stubble, a smile creeps up on my face, a familiar one, a feeling I hadn’t felt in a long time.
“you look great” he smiles at me, coming closer and embracing me in my third hug in the span of 5 minutes, I linger there for a little longer, he sighs and rests his head on the crook of my neck, his words tickle. “I’ve missed you, a lot” I giggle a bit as the stubble brushed against me jawline. I break from the hug as soon as I remember Nick, Chris, and Nate are waiting on us. “I missed you too” I whispered before Nick began ranting on about the things I’ve missed.
“And we’ve been on tour! And we’re going again soon” he explains as the end of his Ted talk comes to an end.
“wow! Thats great, im so happy for you guys” I can’t help but have a huge smile on my face, looking at the three and realizing how much they’ve grown without me, and the fact they’ve waited for me and they’re not mad at me for leaving, no questions asked.
“What have you been up to?” Matt asks with a quiet voice “if you don’t mind us asking” he quickly reassures me I don’t have to say anything I’m not comfortable with.
“Well, I’ve been getting help, doing better now” I leave it there, not wanting to give any more information than I needed to, not right now at least.
“That’s amazing, we’re proud of you” Matt places a hand on mine for comfort, everyone nods agreeing.
“Wanna help me with the snacks?” Matt breaks the silence, I nod and he leads me to the kitchen, it hasn’t changed a bit since I got here, there’s just more stuff, it’s more lived in, I like it.
I open the fridge and see a row of beers at the bottom, probably for when friends come over, my body goes tense and the sounds around me become muffled, I snap out of it when Matt pats on my shoulder.
“Hey, you alright?” He ask’s concerned, I know he’s trying to keep a calm expression but I can tell he’s worried.
“Yeah I’m fine just- got caught up for a second” I utter out with a sigh, I don’t notice my hand trembling till he grabs it.
“Theres orange juice here, I know it’s your favorite” he says softly, rubbing the palm of my hand, making sure I looked at him in the eyes so I wouldn’t get distracted with something else.
“Yeah? Thanks, I’ll get it then” I smile at him, he kissed the tips of my fingers gently
“Anything you need ok? Count on me, please” he begged, looking at me with sincerity, no games.
I nodded and the corners of my mouth turned upwards as it hit me that I was with him again, after such a long time, for me at least. I then grabbed the orange juice from the fridge and poured myself a cup, Matt glancing at me with a smile on his face as I did so.
Our hearts have changed, our faces have changed, but we’ll always find our way back to each other, no matter the changes we succumb to, and I’ll always hold that in my heart.

NOAH
The world was always in a state of grey, the life of the concrete jungle persistently sucking out the souls of its inhabitants with every passing second. Destruction. Crime. Greed. A shattering abyss of capitalism and corruption.
Yet, within this life time, I don’t think I was meant to be the good guy either.
Perhaps there was a chance for me, someday or somehow within another universe.
For now, the only thing I could think about was how my heart pounded as the gun sat between my fingers, threatening the innocent ahead. Destruction, Crime, Greed.
“Noah, let’s go,” Ruffilo pulled at my wrist in desperation. My arm remained still, resisting against his force.
The woman’s eyes watched me in horror, tears brimming as her back hit the brick wall behind her, arms wrapping protectively around her body in defeat.
My heart rapidly raced, but I remained still.
“I won’t say anything I swear,” She pleaded, lips trembling, saliva foaming from her mouth as she was too afraid to swallow.
I don’t want to do this, but I fucked up.
“Noah,” Ruffilo said through gritted teeth, “We need to go,” he placed a hand on top of my gloved one, in another attempt to have me lower the bad decision.
I closed my eyes, squeezing them shut in contemplation as my chest heaved, the voice of rationality fighting against the voice of destruction.
I’ll be even more of a fuck up if she rats on us.

My eyes snapped open, leatherd finger dancing along the trigger as I stared at her. My teeth barred through chapped lips, a snarl of frustration crawling from my throat. The woman's eyes turned away in fear as if watching her own demise would kill her. Ironic.
Seeing her in complete terror left me broken. Is who I am? I am nothing more.
The next thirty seconds passed as though I was walking through molasses, my thoughts battling contradictions before I audibly screamed in frustration, shoving the gun back into my pocket as Nicholas and I ran towards the van.
“Fuck!” I yelled, slamming the car door a forceful as possible. The tires squealed in place, burning out as Jolly’s foot pounded onto the gas pedal.
I ripped off my ski mask, throwing it angrily onto the floor of the vehicle.
“You should’ve just left her Noah. Now if they find us we could be charged with assault with a weapon.” The deep Swedish accent was the last thing I wanted to hear. He eyed me sternly in the rear view mirror. I lingered on his gaze for a moment before turning my head towards the window.
“Oh Fuck off Jolly,” I sighed angrily, closing my eyes as my breathing quickened, the anxiety beginning to set in. The pounding of my heart began to vibrate along my entire chest, and my leg bounced in anticipation, waiting for the panic to subside.
I kept justifying to myself that we’re all dead anyway, so what’s the difference between a God and a loaded gun?

“BUT what about a Noah fic where him and the boys grew up with a hard life, but they always stuck together. Growing up they got into a lot of trouble, and they are still struggling. So they all live in a little motel room together. Then one day Noah runs into reader, and she’s new to LA and she also grew up with a bad background but she got away from it and worked her ass off to get a nice little house in LA. So they talk for a bit and get along with each other, they swap numbers and stuff. Then one night it’s noah get money for him and the boys. So he decides to break into a house and just steal some stuff so he can sell it for money. BUT he ends up breaking into readers house by accident, and she catches him. She hurt and scared at first, but then she starts kind of sympathizing for him. He is apologizing profusely to her telling her he didn’t know it was her house, and basically they have a conversation about Noah’s life with the boys, and why he does what he does. And basically they end up falling for each other, and after a while reader realizes how lonely she is living in her house alone in LA with no friends. So she tells noah that him and the boys should move in with her, and she would help them find jobs and stuff. Eventually they agree, and then after they move in she notices how much they love music and that the two nicks both have old acoustic guitars that they occasionally play while Noah songs along. She works at a bar and then ends up getting them a gig at her work, and then after they play there a few times they start blowing up on the internet and getting popular, then eventually they get huge and go on tour. When they become famous they all convince reader to go on tour with them so they can start taking care of her like she did them when they needed it the most.”

✅ What's something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don't mean to?
courtney and alejandro's friendship!! it was never meant to happen in slippery slopes initially but in the australia challenge when alejandro was supposed to be manipulating courtney he said "no actually i will begin to form a deep bond due to our mutual family issues and deep-seated competitive/perfectionist nature that will carry us throughout this entire fic" and i was like "damn okay sure"
and then in some shorter alenoah fics i was like "well obviously courtney is alejandro's best friend so she has to make an appearance" and even in my recent script rewrite for moon madness they have a scene where alejandro is helping courtney talk through her feelings (for manipulative purposes, but still).
and don't even get me started on the courtney time travel au. i don't want to say too much about it and alejandro has a very minor role, but also, he was never supposed to exist in that fic in the first place!! but nope he showed up and was like "courtney's memories of me will be the catalyst for her making a certain decision" and i was like "welp im powerless to stop you at this point" literally in every iteration of them i write they have some kind of connection and honestly ive embraced it at this point, if amicus curiae is any indication lol
🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?
ooo, i'm actually quite proud of my comedy writing, so there are quite a few! the later chapters of operation nemma have several exchanges that make me laugh, and there are always a few scenes that catch me off guard when i'm rereading slippery slopes and have me cackling.
i put a snippet of one of my favorites from under the cut, i wouldn't say it's the funniest, but i also am proud of the snappy writing. it's from the beginning of chapter 5 if anyone is interested in looking back at the full exchange!
“Hey, Dumb and Dumber?” Duncan says, snapping his fingers. “We’ll just go with the first two, okay? Because someone is too far in denial to be reasonable.”
“It was a joke,” Noah scoffs, “because I don’t flirt with Alejandro.”
“Could’ve fooled me.”
“He flirts with me to annoy me, and it works. That’s it.”
“Hello, denial.”
Owen opens another can of pop. “Isn’t that the first stage of love, or something?”
“It’s the first stage of grief,” Noah says, “which is what you two are currently causing me. "

it is such a baller move for Noah kahan to release not one but two versions of an album detailing relationships that were lost to alcohol (orange juice) and ambition (you’re gonna go far, new perspective) and mental health (call your mom, your needs my needs, growing sideways) and plain old fucking up (dial drunk, stick season) and have the last song he releases be about a relationship that hasn’t been fucked up. I think it's fitting that Dereks the first one to mention stiles, but was it so hard to day that stiles was working on a case or busy at the fbi. that does ‘has his own fires to put out even mean’?

Ok so I love Jackson now! also I love that's its confirmed that Ethan an Jackson are still a thing! they deserve that!
So lyida meets Eli, I kinda got a vibe. Lydia took one look and Eli and kinda dismissed him. but I think it was more than that. and maybe im seeing this through sterek colored glasses, but it was like she saw him as the thing that got between her and stiles. anyone else get a vibe like that? like she knew more about Eli then everyone else?

When the oni took Eli, maila was really upset. Which just shows that she’s spent engorge time with him to love him. And I love that for her and Eli. also you see how upset she is when Derek dies. I truly believe that they sent time together as a family and im sad that we didn't get to see them together. (also I feel like it would be more fitting it she and Parrish took Eli. (thought I would prefer if he went with the sheriff) also mail and Parrish were weird)
Thé face that Derek hasn’t fully shifted in year cuz he was scared to scare Eli just goes to show how much control he has an show much he loves his son! He didn’t hide the wolf away, but he didn’t let it all out also and I think that’s just incredible!
And then Eli scores the winning goal just like stiles 🥰
Derek becomes a true alpha. he was always an alpha and I really don't think he's dead.🤨
Derek dies, because Scott can't make the hard choices. someone else always has to make it fro him and then he gets all the credit! it's stills all over again! Scotts misses something, stiles fixes it 98% if the way and then Scott gets all the glory. again.😒😒
So the sheriff speech about Derek is the only one I recognize! he took one look at Eli and knew that Scott was spurting bullshit and went and talked to him about his dad that it should have been done! and I truly believe that Derek and noah are friends and noah just laughs at Derek every time Eli doesn't something. like ‘now its your turn’ while he drinks a beer and watches.
God Scott🫣😒 so your future is with Alison and Eli, yeah I don't think so!
also sterek is basically canon, sheriff is Eli grandad, and Eli takes after stiles cuz he thinks he's awesome!
my all over review
ok, so this movie was the dumpster fire we all knew it was going to be! I didn't even watch it all the way through. I skipped to watch the scene with the people I like in It and I still didn't miss anything. this movie was a love letter to Scott and Alison and fuck anyone who got in the way. everyone is this move was an extra to hold their story up and nothing made snese like it should have. between the plot holes and the characters who didn't interact with one another when it would have made sense was just not good. you're telling me the Lydia never said even hi to the sheriff when she supposedly was something with his son? or mason and liam not saying one world to each other even though they were kidnapped together? or Peter who just showed up out of no where for no good reason just to be there? look I love Peter and I love watching him but unless he was just leaking and esdropping (which would make perfect snese) how would he know where and what was going on? or how nobody was together in one room all at once but for Dereks funeral? like I get it but it just didn't make a lot of snese, they didn't even talk to on another properly. also what I don't get was scott their alpha even though everyone was spread all over the place? how does that even work?
I came in knowing that Derek was going to die. it wasn't a shock to me and that is why I think I saw the foreshadowing for what it was. he thinks he's dying twice in the movie. if I didn't know that he dies at the end I would have thought he dies by Alisons arrow in the school. it was blatant foreshadowing and I hate it. I also hate watching him thinking he's dissing and being ok with it. liege truly believes that this was how it was going to die. and in the school when he days that him and Eli have a getaway plan broke my heart!😔😞😔😞 this poor man had to be ready at a moments notice cuz he wasn't going to lose his only family he had left. and it breaks my heart😣
and here's my biggest plot hole; lyida said she hasn't walked in a really long time but she does know when there was a death. she can feel it. but she wails for alison to hear her but not for Derek? and there's no body? she and Jackson are not of the fight not seeing what the others are seeing, and of all of a sudden their on the field all together, how to they know that he's dead? she doesn't turn to Jackson and say ‘someone dies’ or ‘Derek gone’ they just hug Alison right away. its like something is missing!

thoughts on ilw ch 21 (spoilers below)
first, a deep dive on matthias x mc:
Matthias McQuoid: a man ready to let the world burn if it meant he’d get his greatest wish... which poses a very important question:
Is it possible for Matthias to have a happy ending?
Ch 21 gives us readers the classic villain’s monologue- a peek into grandpa Matty’s twisted mind. A part of me was waiting for the ball to drop- to make Lincoln proud and finally be able to say Matthias is an evil bastard. Period. No discussion needed. But then he comes at me with ‘I wanted to spend an eternity with my family by my side’ and I can’t help feeling the slightest pang of sympathy. Grandpa Matty, complex till the bitter end 😭
How could someone determined to do absolutely anything for his loved ones be so bad? While Matthias can claim he’d move heaven and earth for his loved ones (and he damn well near does), it’s not received with open arms. Instead, it drives them further away until he’s left with a dead wife and a son who wants nothing to do with him. I fear that an MC romancing Matthias faces a similar, tragic fate.
They say, "a villain would sacrifice the world to save you*"
*but in the case of grand-daddy Matty, only until you no longer serve him. he’ll sacrifice the world, but never himself
MC x Matthias’ plan to make Devon/Noah the new anchor is only a temporary fix. Eventually that anchor will weaken. Yes, you could argue that he’d just wash, rinse, and repeat the same steps he did with Devon/Noah for the rest of time without batting an eye:
Manipulate the world to his will
Bask in his riches
Spend another millennia with MC at his side #dearcreature
Who knows? Maybe that’s how their arc will end come ch 23. Bring me the epilogue scene of Mathias and MC sipping cocktails poolside. Let the villain have his cake and eat it too, right?
This particular scene makes me think otherwise:
Matthias’ cruel nature is no secret to MC, regardless of their relationship status with him. Romancing him, however, allows MC to justify it. But that doesn’t stop that bit of doubt from creeping up. What happens when they're no longer enough? Deep down, they already know the answer. But as of right now, Matthias loves them. Wants them. Ironically, they voice out this hidden fear to Adrian:
“It’ll never be enough. No matter how much you get, you’ll always want more.”
Stripped down to his most basic parts- Matthias is a selfish, self-serving man. One who takes, but never gives. He commands, but will never follow. It’s not an if, it’s a when; after enough temporary fixes, Matthias will want a permanent solution on his quest towards unlimited power/immortality and no amount of ‘love’ will stop him.
If we’re defining a happy ending as getting everything you want, then yes, it is possible for Matthias to have one. In fact, it is guaranteed. MC’s happily-ever-after with him, however, will always come with strings.

man, what. a. ride. the whiplash from going between these incredibly wholesome moments to these gut-wrenching death sequences is way too jarring. *continues to see what other atrocities i can unlock*
we finally get to see lincoln’s item in action- and as speculated- we can time-travel bitches🔥 how many ways can our scooby gang die in the next two chapters??? the answer will probably traumatize me.
as someone who was blindsided by jocelyn’s betrayal, her flashback scene was amazing to read. the call outside the school, why she wasn’t immediately at MCs side after the cave collapsed- it was all right there 😭
adios to gunnor- im gonna miss his feisty ass lol. ilw has made me a connor stan, so that connor x mc reunion was *chef’s kiss* perfection
