Also props to samantha shannon, i have never been straight-baited as much as i have been while reading her books -- the tease of loth/sabran and loth/ead only for the canon ship to be sabran/ead and loth/his damn self, was extremely satistying in 'priory', and now wulf seems to be taking that role in 'day of fallen night' with the will-they-won't-they with glorian..? Though i might be reading this wrong, i still have 18 hours of listening left (WEEP)

its crazy to me that canthe is the only translator available for wulf and tuva. like. she was the one who took wulf away from tuva, who killed his birthfather and kidnapped him and took him to another country, into the land of the deceiver no less. and then she brings them back together, and now she's the only way they can communicate with one another. she's the one who tells tuva about the child of the woods, and she's the one who tells wulf who tuva is. she's the only person who speaks both of their languages and can teach them those languages. she's always controled their relationship since she took wulf from tuva as a baby

A Day of Fallen Night spoilers but I have to get this thought off my chest

Wulfert Glenn (my fave sad soft boi) was the son of a mother whose parenthood was stolen from her and yet he grows up to become a father who willingly gives up his parenthood.

There’s also an irony in how his mon loved him more than she was supposed to and never got the chance to give him that love and he becomes a man who has the chance to have a child he can love unconditionally but chooses to have a child he can only love from afar.

I don’t know where I’m going with this but I love this story arc so much

One thing I’ve noticed from the Roots of Chaos fandom is that nobody seems to like Wulf. Or at least not as much as they like all the lesbians. And that makes me sad.

He’s my favorite character from A Day of Fallen Night, his storyline with Tunuva was both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, and he’s just such a good man? Never in my life has there been a male character in fantasy I related to so much and actively rooted for. Never once did his chapters drag for me. He’s so interesting, and still I’ve yet to find a single piece of fanfiction that so much as mentions him by name. I’ve seen one piece of fan art of him. And literally nobody even seems to think about Thrit. I’m being fed scraps here.

I just think Wulfert Glenn deserves more love from the fandom. He’s such an integral part of the story, and I don’t think it could have been the same without him.

Meren used to leave Tunuva a jar of honey in her room because he knew she liked honey. But then the memory of Meren's death and Wulf's kidnapping was so tied up with the visual of Meren collecting honey that honey and bees became a PTSD trigger for Tunuva.

Which is such an awful thing for her to endure: the thing she liked, the thing which was tied with the father of her child giving her gifts of friendship, then became irrevocably tied to the traumatic loss of that father and her child.
