my goodbye’s to The Bad Batch.

Tech,

your mind is beautiful, and your heart is just as radiant. your selflessness is inspiring, and your drive for knowledge makes me want to know more. some may say that you are stuck up, but i see how much you truly love your family. you may process things differently than others, but you are worthy of the exact same love. i wish i could see your mind process more, i hope that you’re happy. may there be infinite knowledge where you are. you deserve the very best. i love you.

Wrecker,

you inspire me to be strong enough to be gentle. you have a beautiful soul, you make me laugh, and you are worthy of every delicious meal. you have protected your family well, and you have managed to do it with a smile on your face. i’m so proud of you for holding them together. i hope that wherever you end up, it is filled with laughter, full plates, and more excitement than you can wrap your head around. i love you.

Crosshair,

you are so worthy of love, never doubt yourself or your abilities. even if things aren’t necessarily the way they used to be, you are still worthy of love. i see the ways that you care for your family, and you are anything but a cold sniper. i am so proud of you for overcoming everything, even the things you don’t speak about, despite how difficult that may have been for you. i hope that you find rest, i hope that you heal, and i hope that you are happy. you deserve the best, Cross. i love you.

Omega,

you are such a light to your family. never doubt that, and never forget it. your brothers love you so so much, you have given them purpose. you changed them; you have done the best thing that anyone could have done for them. never forget how much you matter. you are so intelligent, beautiful, strategical, and you show so many positive traits of your brothers. there is such a wonderful purpose for you in this huge galaxy. never stop exploring, sweet girl. i love you.

Echo,

you have seen and overcome so much, and you have done an incredible job by remaining kind despite it all. you have always been a good soldier, and i hope that you never forget that. your wisdom, strength, and courage are inspiring. you are worthy of so many gentle and kind things. you work to make things right, and that is such an honorable trait to possess. anyone would be lucky to have you in their corner. i love your heart. i hope that you find the peace that you deserve, you are a good man. you deserve a happy ending. i love you.

Hunter,

you have been a good Sergeant; any team would be lucky to have you at the head. you have led your squad well, and i am so proud of you. never forget how loved you are. never forget how much they love you, and look up to you, and care about you. even when you think that the pressure is alone on your shoulders, you are never alone. the bad things were never your fault. you have grown into an honorable man, putting your family above it all. you have learned so much and come so far, and i am so grateful to have seen you change throughout the journey. you deserve peace, rest, and happiness. i hope that you are happy, wherever you are. i love you.

Some Bad Batch Headcanons

Tech snores like a dad

Wrecker actually is a quiet sleeper

Hunter does the bare minimum to care for his hair, like he uses hand soap for it, and it still looks amazing

Omega being born with a blonde mutation and not having any developmental issues led the Kaminoans to allowing more blond clone troopers to live to deployment

Wrecker is the one that initiates picking up and carrying Omega mostly because it is easier for him to keep an eye on her this way

Wrecker has lost Omega in crowds more than once because she is barely hip height to him in S1, couple that with little to no vision in one eye and a trashed ear, he struggles a little bit (hence the picking up and carrying)

Despite not liking regs, the Batch had a lot of respect for the 501st and drew many of their battle strategies from 501st tactics

Echo didn’t share much about his time with the 501st until Omega came around, this lead to multiple story times which had the whole bad batch circled around him listening and fangirling

Crosshair cannot see things close up, as his eyes were modified for long distance, he needs classes or contacts for reading things but refuses to wear glasses

That being said he will steal Tech’s goggles because they do help quite a bit

Given the choice, Omega will choose Wrecker’s bunk to sleep in over Hunter’s

This is due to A) Wrecker actually likes cuddling and barely moves in his sleep, B) she noticed that Hunter doesn’t sleep as well with someone else in his bunk

That doesn’t stop Hunter from pouting that she chooses Wrecker

Echo is really good at sparring after his ARC training, being down 3 limbs only motivated him to get back to his peak form as well as he could. He can and will put anybody in the Bad Batch (including wrecker) on their shebs

Tech is ordained and can officiate weddings (no one knows when he did this or why)

Zima : hey wrecker wanna join me into buying some stuff?

Wrecker: yeah can I bring omega and maybe we can get some of our mantel mix ? It’s been a while since I’ve had some

Zima : sure hun just make sure you give him some money

Zima said handing over some money

Wrecker: ooh ! Thanks zi

Omega : I’m ready to go

As they left home and went to the nearby village market

Zima was grabbing items from her list

Omega : hey miss zima ? Can I get this glittery notebook?

Zima : do you know how to pay the cashier?

Omega : yeah tech has taught me

Zima : good I think we should talk to Hunter about you getting an allowance

Omega put the notebook in the cart

Wrecker: is that everything?

Zima : yeah you two can go get the cartons I’ll cash out

Wrecker: hm? Usually you’d join us

Zima : save some for me ok?

Wrecker: ok

They went to the seller as he bought three separate cartons he didn’t tell her that he was going to buy her her own

Zima gave the money to the cashier and picked up the bags of groceries

Wrecker: here let me get that for ya here take this

He said handing her her carton in exchange for her bags of groceries to carry

Zima : uh wrecker what is this?

Wrecker: I bought you some I didn’t want you to feel left out

Zima : yeah but this is you and omegas thing

Wrecker: it’s our thing too zi not just me and omega

Omega was carrying her carton and her notebook

Zima : your real sweet you know that?

Wrecker chuckled

Omega : so should we go home now ?

They all returned home as wrecker saw lula running over to him

He said picking up his daughter and smiling

metaphor during the ep4 reunion

i think about how Wrecker said “We crossed the galaxy four times looking for you.”

and Hunter appeared into frame, saying, “Five. But you’re the one who found us.”

and it’s obviously about their reunion with Omega. but you know what else i think it alludes to? their purpose. their light. their hope.

they were merely war soldiers; that was their intended purpose. yet Omega found them and changed them, softening them and giving them a new life of ‘fatherhood’ that none of them ever could’ve imagined.

they were chasing after their purpose for so long. yet their purpose found them, disguised as a little girl on Kamino.
