Echo was definitely the only one who could talk with Tech for hours about whatever project he was working on.

Hunter would listen politely and be engaging but after a while he would just get overstimulated and need some quiet.

Wrecker would do his best to follow along but Tech would want somebody who could really keep up with him.

Crosshair is more of a listener, which is fine sometimes, but most of the time Tech would appreciate different perspectives because he can be hyperfocused sometimes.

But Echo? They could spar for hours and hours with different ideas to make a project work or to come to a conclusion about a discovery. Tech can come off as emotionally robotic, and Echo is physically robotic, they’re like peanut butter & jelly. Both great alone, but better together.

OKAY, if next episode we don’t get a cx-2 (tech) reveal they’re gonna kill off the bad batch. They are gonna rogue one those men 😭. And then it’s gonna fade to a smoking tantiss base on fire, AND THEN the last scene will be tech taking his helmet off amongst the rubble and seeing the destruction he had no choice of being be a part of. Some Bad Batch Headcanons

Tech snores like a dad

Wrecker actually is a quiet sleeper

Hunter does the bare minimum to care for his hair, like he uses hand soap for it, and it still looks amazing

Omega being born with a blonde mutation and not having any developmental issues led the Kaminoans to allowing more blond clone troopers to live to deployment

Wrecker is the one that initiates picking up and carrying Omega mostly because it is easier for him to keep an eye on her this way

Wrecker has lost Omega in crowds more than once because she is barely hip height to him in S1, couple that with little to no vision in one eye and a trashed ear, he struggles a little bit (hence the picking up and carrying)

Despite not liking regs, the Batch had a lot of respect for the 501st and drew many of their battle strategies from 501st tactics

Echo didn’t share much about his time with the 501st until Omega came around, this lead to multiple story times which had the whole bad batch circled around him listening and fangirling

Crosshair cannot see things close up, as his eyes were modified for long distance, he needs classes or contacts for reading things but refuses to wear glasses

That being said he will steal Tech’s goggles because they do help quite a bit

Given the choice, Omega will choose Wrecker’s bunk to sleep in over Hunter’s

This is due to A) Wrecker actually likes cuddling and barely moves in his sleep, B) she noticed that Hunter doesn’t sleep as well with someone else in his bunk

That doesn’t stop Hunter from pouting that she chooses Wrecker

Echo is really good at sparring after his ARC training, being down 3 limbs only motivated him to get back to his peak form as well as he could. He can and will put anybody in the Bad Batch (including wrecker) on their shebs

Tech is ordained and can officiate weddings (no one knows when he did this or why)

Hunter is the DadTM Dad. He was born to Dad. He is the best Dad. His Dad energy is over 9000.

Wrecker is the Fun Dad who no one understands how he became a dad in the first place because he's practically still a kid too. The type of dad who uses ice cream withdrawal as punishment but then caves on the condition that the ice cream won't have sprinkles.

Echo is the Mature Dad who's so emotionally intelligent and has been through so much that he's just naturally nurturing, hence why he could even be considered a maternal figure.

Tech is the Academic Dad who believes knowledge is power and strives to give a child the best preparation possible in any aspect (books, knowing how to operate crucial machinery/ships, etc)

Crosshair is the Cool Dad who his kids get their sarcasm from. Believes in do as I say, not as I do. Is much worse than Hunter. Any means are justified so long as it's for the benefit of the Kid, such as intimidating a child trying to extort you for information.

- Echo still can't sleep well. He either suffers from insomnia, or from pain, or from nightmares.

- When Echo has nightmares, he hides his face in his pillow. Nobody really knows why. Everyone agreed that he doesn't realize where he is when he sleeps, which means that he cannot feel safe.

- Actually, it's true. But deep down, Echo also doesn't want anyone to see him like this - trembling and crying.

- PTSD is a topic that no one brings up. He is afraid of medical equipment, syringes, droppers, droids... The creak of a rubber glove is worse than death.

- No matter how strong he may seem, the complexes follow him like a shadow. Echo hates each of his implants, he is annoyed by the reflection in the mirror. Whitened skin, dark circles around the eyes, gray-yellow iris. "Looks like I'm dead," he jokes. But everyone knows that this is not a joke.

- Hunter says being able to kick someone with an iron foot is cool. Omega sometimes sticks stickers on prostheses. Echo is still beautiful no matter what he thinks.

- Even if he can't convince himself of this, Echo remains incredibly grateful to the guys for their support. He removes the stickers only when they are completely worn out.

- Omega will always find more.

- Wrecker always succumbs to him in arm wrestling. He is definitely a great actor. Echo still didn't quite understand. Yes, definitely.

- Echo sleeps peacefully when someone hugs him. This duty, without any hesitation, took Tech.

- Sometimes it happens that they stop somewhere to rest a little, and then it happens that the team has to be woken up in the morning, otherwise they can oversleep until the evening. Of course, this is what Echo does. He turns up his favorite songs so that they can be heard throughout the Marauder.

Bonus: Echo was the first person Crosshair not only allowed himself to hug, but hugged back.

Tech recognizing Omega’s laugh is still one of the most important things to me. The fact that collecting sounds is a hobby of his, and that includes the voices of his loved ones makes me smile. The Bad Batch & The Carnival HCs

Tech: Has the absolute time of his life on the rollercoasters because logically, he knows they are safe. Besides, "that's what rollercoaster engineers are for." He's always down for a calculated thrill— and his great driving reflects that! He definitely whispers trajectories to Echo and Wrecker so they can optimize their winnings at the game booths.

Omega: Has to build her way up to the bigger rollercoasters and will only go if at least one of her brothers goes with her but ends up loving the teacup rides. Once she's been on one ride/rollercoaster, she wants to go multiple times in a row. She speeds around begging Hunter for tickets to play the various games that everybody knows are scams, but they want her to have fun. The guys all cheer her on at whatever game she attempts to win.

Hunter: Absolutely hates the rollercoasters. All that wind and whipping around really deprives him of his heightened senses and it really freaks him out. He doesn't mind the drop ones as much. He's the one out of the group to watch the bags/equipment while the rest have fun on the rides like the dad he is. His favorite food booth was the meat-on-a-stick vendor that sold meats from all over the galaxy. He up winning a Wampa stuffie bigger than he is. Of course, gifts it to Omega who names it Rekkie. Dominates at the arm wrestling game.

Crosshair: Is an ace at the shooting/ring toss games and gives the vendor a run for their money. He also bonds with Omega on the shooting games. He gives her tips on how to steady her hand and aim well. He will go on rollercoasters but he rarely screams or puts his hands up but only because he feels awkward doing so, not because he is having a bad time. Him and Echo will sometimes bet on who can straight face it the best. Crosshair usually ends up winning.

Echo: Unlike Hunter, rollercoasters are his favorite thing at the carnival. He enjoys the sensory overload because it gives him a break from thinking for a short time. He and Tech tag team the guessing games and win a giant container of Mantell Mix. After awhile though, he will keep Hunter company on the ground. They will plan which coaster/game/attraction to see next using the cartoon map they picked up at the entrance.

Bonus lil drabble: Once they're back on the Marauder, and Wrecker finally managed to shove the gigantic stuffie into the hull, Omega and Batcher curl up and fall asleep together on Rekkie after her long day of exhausting fun. Tech begins to flip on the ships controls to get ready to take off for Pabu. Echo handles the music, but keeps it at a low, soothing volume. The two reminisce about all the funny moments of the day. Hunter heads back to the shower to clean up, dropping his headband gently onto Omega's chest. She sighs contentedly in her sleep and grasps the strip of red fabric to pull up by her face, inhaling deeply because Hunter smells like safety. Crosshair sits in the back of the hull by the navicomp and tips his head back, helmet resting over his eyes to get a little rest before the shower frees up. For the first time, in a long time, he drifts off with a smile. And Wrecker munches the last of the Mantell Mix, but leaves a handful left for Omega. After all the missions and grueling adventures, it was nice for The Bad Batch to have a relaxing day under the suns.

I've been thinking a lot about the way Tech and Crosshair speak, how they sound very different but there's a similarity in how precise and measured their voices are.

And now I have the following headcanons:

- Crosshair and Tech are tube twins and they're the youngest of the batch.

- Crosshair was either nonverbal or selectively mute as a cadet. There was a time where the only person he'd murmer things to was Tech and Tech would 'translate' for him.

- In contrast, Tech's always been super verbal but he still struggled to communicate for a while. He used to stumble over words and run out of breath a lot. Maybe he had a stutter. His thoughts just moved so fast that he felt like his voice couldn't keep up.
