The wooly mammoth is almost done! Should he have tusks, and if so, full tusks or little baby ones? Also, should he have a tail?

When I was downsizing my plush collection, one of the plush I accidentally donated and really regretted was a wild republic wooly mammoth. Jeremy and I got matching ones at the Natural History museum way back in the early days of our relationship. I recently found a newer version in a stuffed animal collecting group! It's not the exact same, but this one has no tush or hang tags and he had a hole in him so I feel like that makes him a little special c: The same seller also had a really cute walrus, and she gave me the mammoth for free with the purchase of the walrus!
Tumblr media
They've had baths and the mammoth has been fixed and I love them both c:
The seller has a ton of plush she's trying to sell, and is having a hard time selling them, so I offered to post a link to her ebay store in case anyone might want to have a look at her (extensive) inventory.

For the ask prompt! 14, 24, 28, 42, and 49!
14. A random fact
Hmmmm.... well.... I started working at a nursing/rehab facility last year and a random fact I’ve learned that as people get older getting a UTI makes people go a little crazy. Like I’ve had people start talking about the IRS coming in to see them (but no one except family or nurses have come by) or fixing things that aren’t broken (but the maintenance guy comes in to “check” on it anyways) or sometimes not make any sense. And once the UTI goes away they’re back to normal. So I thought that was neat.
24. Talents
Im a fast learner but an eaqually fast forgetter... I can draw and surprisingly even tho I haven’t in a while, if I start again I can still art as well as I did before so that’s nice.... I’m good bringing ideas to the table but not of executing them myself.... I can do many things if it’s to help someone else complete their tasks or lighten their load, but I cannot sit down to do my own stuff... i can explain things good to people when they’re having trouble understanding stuff... i sing but I’m an alto so like my range is limited but that doesn’t stop me from trying to make Kpop covers when I’m bored (no ones gonna hear them unless I’m happy with them tho so...). idk of these are talents... these are more things I do... I guess
28. Favorite ice cream flavor
Coffee anything. 💯💯💯
42. Stuffed animals I own
Hooooo boy.... okay. Uuuuh I got two big teddy bears. I got a big baymax, medium baymax, baby baymax. I have a big rainbow octopus (his name is omelette). Line friends sally plush (renamed her chicken) and an Apeach baby. I have a small white Scotty dog named Oliver. Little elephant named Phanti. A smaller one named blue (he’s blue dabadee dabba dai). a lot of Elsa plush dolls (one for every outfit and then a Christmas Anna and kristoff and a coronation Anna). A LOT of small TsumTsums like 3-4 medium ones and a big groot one. Dean and Cas plushies. A big bt21 Mang plush head (thanks bae). Little stingray named pancake. Vanellope. A buckwheat goblin and a black hug plush from the Kdrama Goblin: The Lonely and Great God. A care bear baby I’ve had since I inherited it from my sister (handmedown my sister is very much alive). A triceratops, a wooly mammoth. A few teddies. A Pooh and piglet in raincoats. A classic Pooh. A lot more piglets. Pete the dragon and Olaf from build a bear. some duckies. The octopus from finding dory and a baby dory. Mini build a bear iron man and captain America bears. Got7 Jinyoung gotoon plush. A bunny made of alpaca fluff. Bae got me a crocheted giraffe (Matt) a big horned mountain goat (oh dang I forgot his name...) a sock monkey (misha) and a black bear plush. A sloth named cordial. A Stuffy plush (you know... from doc mcstuffins...). I’m missing a lot... I feel it...
49. A song that made me cry
Recent ones that come to mind are from Frozen 2. Show Yourself was my happy cry song (I feel like it’s the first time I had a happy cry song because all other songs I think about crying are sad heartbreak songs that remind me of sadness) and The Next Right Thing (sad cry).... An honorable mention is Astro’s Bloom just from feeling the music, then I learned the lyrics (didn’t make it better). But I knew if they had sung that song live at their last concert I would have ruined my make up but they didn’t and I was glad and disappointed.
You picked some good ones @hearti thank you!!!
Ps. They’re long... I’m sorry...

Anything with Pakistan—?
Sure! Excuse the Anne Frank vibes- “Karachi! Shh!” Pakistan whispered to his daughter. “We must stay hidden!” The Second World war had driven both Pakistan and his wife, Poland, into hiding to keep his lover safe.  “Sorry, father,” Karachi whispered back, sitting on a small couch next to Islamabad.  Pakistan sighed quietly, walking very softly to the window to peek out. The Germans had raided the house below him; his old home. Poland had managed to sneak back down and scavenge any important items.  “Love?” Poland whispered. “Is something wrong? You’ve been standing there for five minutes...”  “Oh, I’m fine love, I-” Pakistan took a deep breath. “I spaced out.” He walked over to Poland and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “How are you holding up?” He then asked. “Better than normal,” Poland replied, muffling a cough. The horrid cough was a part of a fever Poland had for weeks now. She was getting better, however, for Switzerland had managed to sneak up to the attic and help her. Then again, doing so was a risk. Even for a neutral country like Switzerland. Anyone who helped them would be killed, even if it was someone who helped both sides. Did people still take this risk? Most definitely. They were helping people who could no longer help themselves, even if it was life-risking.  There was sudden knocking on the attic door and everyone held their breath. “Pakistan? It’s me, Switzerland,” the Swiss man said in a hushed voice. “May I come in?”  “Yes, yes. Just make sure your shoes are taken off,” Pakistan replied, letting Switzerland quickly in. “Sorry to intrude, but I brought more supplies and medication for Poland. I also brought a few books for the girls and toys. Thankfully, my country makes plenty of these items.” Karachi and Islamabad began to search the bag full of plushies and books. Karachi found a plush of an elephant and named it “Tusks,” for the ancestry of Wooly Mammoths to Elephants. Whilst Islamabad got a penguin plush she named “Icicle.” They split the books evenly between each other, which were all about history.  This life had to carry on until the end. Even if it ended in failure, at least they had each other. They had to stick together, for they were the only people they ever saw other than Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Bangladesh. This was the life everyone had gotten used to for so long, and when it ended, it was much more difficult to get back to normal. The girls had still thought they had to be silent all day, yet Pakistan kept telling them otherwise. (I shall turn this into a full story if you’d like!)

I really want to get better at communicating verbally, especially when it comes to expressing my emotions. getting into poetry is helping with that
due to intense trauma that happened when my mom and I were refugees hiding out in Colombia, I went a good 5+ years where I refused to speak to anyone. I would only say anything to my blue woolie mammoth plushie or indirect, vague, and quiet phrases to my parents while trying avoiding any eye contact. it set me back YEARS developmentally. I would get super frustrated with people when they tried to force me to speak and I would shut down further. my parents tried to teach me English but I refused to practice, even though I learned it pretty quickly from music and tv. my grades were really high, but my teachers refused to put me in advanced classes since I didn't speak.
it took years to get where I am now, but it's still a struggle. there's a weird irony in me wanting to pursue being a translator since it's all about language and communication.
I like being in big groups since it usually means I get to just hang back and listen. even if it's something mundane or a subject I don't really care for. how do they do it so effortlessly? how do you know what to say? when to stop? what's appropriate? why???
I wonder if it will always be like this.

How many Webkinz do you own? Do you own any duplicates? Which Webkinz do you want more of?
I haven't counted in a while, but I think I have about 45 online and maybe 20 plushes? I own two lil kinz golden retriever plushies for some reason, haha. I don't remember how I ended up with two, but they're twins!
Ediit: I'd like more unusual ones, like the aardvark and the wooly mammoth. I really like the unique ones!

Hey y’all! I saw a drawing of a smilodon and now I’m thinking about, uh, I am blanking on the word. Prehistoric mammals? Animals in those years between “most creatures are dinosaurs” and “the present”?  Whatever that word/phrase is, if I was going to plushify some of them, which one(s) should I plushify? If you have links to the best/cutest* art/drawing/sketches/etc of that creature, can you please include them? Sometimes the ideas of what the creatures look like are so disparate idk which one to go with  *whichever metric of “best” you want to use for your favorite illustration. My knowledge of extinct creatures is very limited, and I’m not really going for realism in my plushie patterns, but I do want them to be recognizable

Can I request some pictures of your Sabertooth Tiger and the baby and adult Mammoth when you have time?

Tusk, the big mammoth, and his son Toot 💕 I don't have very many baby BaBs, but they are awfully cute with the big ones. I don’t cuddle Tusk very often, because his fur mats so easily, but he's so cute I'm happy to have him in my collection!

Hugo, my sabertooth tiger, was a gift from Jeremy 💕 He has custom markings and a mane going down from his head to his tail. He also has silver eyes with oval pupils, just because I think they look pretty lol.

A PROTECTOR AT HEART
It's probably pretty easy to think of a giant wooly mammoth as being a particular danger to a kiddo.  They are pretty huge, after all, and those ivory tusks are hardly plushy in their comfort level. Of course, if you're talking about a mammoth named Manfred, you've got an even greater obstacle to bound before the furry guy finally warms up to the idea of hanging out with a human. Fortunately, Sid the Sloth is on the case and ready to melt that heart of ice!
Before long, the newly named Manny is ready to do all he can to protect the little Roshan from all sorts of trouble, whether it is rabid prehistoric nut-hunting squirrels or the betrayal of a tiger ally. That's a good thing, too, because when you're traveling through an Ice Age, you pretty much need somebody warm to snuggle up to. And, is it even possible to get any better than a wooly mammoth for anyone's snuggling needs!?
DESIGN & DETAILS
That answer is a resounding no, we think, but our herd of designers have taken the idea one step further! This officially licensed Manny the Mammoth Costume from Ice Age is the perfect way to keep the outer warmth and the inner softness of Manfred really close by! This exclusive look features a brown minky jumpsuit that zips up the back. This super soft and comfy suit gives your kiddo the luxurious brown fur look of the star of Ice Age as well as the tufted tail. The hood fits around your tyke's face and has Manny's bump of fuzzy hair, his sweet brown eyes, and long curved stuffed tusks.
FOR THOSE SECONDARY SNUGGLES
Remember that when your kiddo is bound up in this Manny the Mammoth jumpsuit costume that it won't just be the tyke that is feeling warm and snuggly. Sid gets all the hugs he wants, whether Manny seems to like it initially or not, so why shouldn't you, too!? Keep the herd together with Manny this year!
