That's a sentence from the book I started writing.

It might sound romantic but in the context of my book it is quite literal. She shared her soul with the human to keep her alive.

I will explain more about all that in another post. Maybe. Who knows.

I Finished She Gets The Girl Last night!

Hi there! After weeks of reading I finally finished She Gets The Girl last night, and oh my god it was AMAZING. The book was one hell of a slow burn, with Molly and Alex finally getting together at the VERY end of the book, however it wasn't frustrating at all, it was far from it. By the end when the two girls finally got together after HUNDREDS of pages of anticipation I was sooo overjoyed.

IRIS KELLY DOESN'T DATE - ASHLEY HERRING BLAKE Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ashley Herring Blake has written another sapphic romance that I was barely able to out down until it was finished. Iris and Stevie are incredibly cute. The book is really successful take on fake dating that actually seems like a plausible reason two people could fake date! 

I loved seeing Bright Falls one last time, although I do wish there was two epilogues one for the Iris/Stevie and one for the whole cast! 

Based on this trilogy, any sapphic story Ashley Herring Blake writes will be an auto-buy for me.

The butler doesn’t take her that way. Instead, he leads her past the enormous fountain decorated with the three-headed eagle that is the Iwanowicz crest. Water spills from its beaks in a pleasing trickle into a pool large enough to lazily lounge in. The water also shimmers beneath the opulent lights, illuminating the florid vines and patterns in the mosaics beneath its surface. “Ah, first time in the Imperial Palace, miss?” The butler leads her down a connecting hallway lined with more statues and doors. The space also indicates preparations for a festivity. Ute purses her lips. “I believe so, yes.” “Oh, how wonderful. WEEKEND; Ends 7 of 9 Book 7: The Pirate's Booty by Alex Westmore 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Now this one was stunning, all the action and pirates and queens and love and heartbreaks. A whole portion. Book 6: Goode Girls: Steal by J.J Aaris. 🌟🌟🌟 I think I only bought this because I read The Goode News and it was so good. This one was OK. Book 5: Contract Bound by Elle Mae 🌟🌟 Now, this is the book that I bought mainly because the cover was stunning. Book 4: A Game of Hearts and Heists by Ruby Roe 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Yeah, good stuff. I am mainly waiting for book 2. Promising stuff. Book 3: Cuffing Season by Monica McCallan 🌟🌟🌟 When I saw the tag "ice queen" well this was not what I expected, but it was OK. Book 2: Dead Dead Girls by Nekesa Afia 🌟🌟🌟 Review already up. Book 1: Sword of the Gladiatrix by Faith L. Justice. 🌟🌟🌟 So much violence, the review is already up. 🤪 End of Valentine's week 😜 Next week is packed. Night shifts, traveling, interviews, family, birthday celebrations. I am also planning on reading books 8 and 9, The Awkward Truth and The Song of Achilles respectively. GWEN AND ART ARE NOT IN LOVE - LEX CROUCHER Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

 Gwen and Art Are Not In Love tells a tale as old as time - boy meets girl, both are gay, and a little queer clique is formed. 

The writing is funny, and all the characters are loveable. It features a lesbian knight! Watching the friendships and romances develop with a backdrop of court intrigue and knight tourneys was perfect. 

I assumed this was going to be a King Arthur retelling, it’s not at all. But it is set at Camelot a few hundred years from the actual events. Although it is an alternative history, social pushback still exists against defying gender norms (i.e., being a lady knight) and same-sex relationships. 

I will re-read this when I get my hands on a physical copy in November (for UK people, I think it came out in May, go read it now!!)

Definitely reminded me of the rom-com movies I’ve watched. A mix of She’s All That and a Geek Charming. I wasn’t however too keen on the virgin shaming especially in a large crowd of strangers but it’s something that I wish was talked about more.
