MXTX couples rated by whether or not they should have a kid:
Wangxian 11/10 should have not only one kid but several. Look how well they did with Sizhui. They're fabulous parents. They'd be thrilled with more babies.
Hualian -3/10 should never be responsible for children again. Oh my god. One of them was FULLY a disguised god and they didn't even realize because they barely remembered to feed him
Bingqiu 1/10 probably wouldn't be too bad at taking care of biological needs but SQQ has Wine Aunt energy and is bad enough with his disciples. Also Binghe would get jealous of his own child.
Moshang 7/10 would do well with kids! Should... probably wait a bit to figure out the logistics and get into a more stable point in their relationship, but they'd be good parents.
FengQing 4/10 would probably not fuck up immediately or super badly but shouldn't keep a child around for more than like. A week. Good babysitters, still shouldn't have their own
Beefleaf -100000000/10 are you kidding me here
3zun and any internal pairings 6/10 I think they'd think a kid could fix them. Not a good reason to have a kid! They'd still do it, though. The kid would probably only be MILDLY traumatized.
Any Jiang Cheng ship 1/10 Jiang Cheng is fabulous as an uncle. 100/10 should have more niblings. Should not have kids of his own because of his many neuroses

right, dont know if this makes sense but lets say reader (any gender really idm) was a god who had seen the ups and downs of hualian and had always been there for them but despite the mutual feelings between the 3, none of them confessed.
the thing is that, jun wu (ew…) had become obsessed with reader (since they stuck so much by xie lians and hua chengs side, they got noticed by jun wu) and left his obsession for xie lian behind and one day after planning so for many years, jun wu captures reader and theres no word of reader for days, weeks even yet jun wu acts as normal.
would hualian tear up the whole place, get revenge, rescue reader then make sweet love to them? up to you! you dont have to write ab this request btw:)

He also does what he can in the heavenly realm, after all a god going missing is very important

The upper court is in a slight panic. No one knows where you are and a lot of people in the upper court are your friends. So of course everyone's a bit in disarray when none of them have heard from you in three days
Not Feng Xin, Mu Qing, Pei Ming, Ling Wen, nor Shi Qingxuan.
You have so many friends, so many people that love you and yet you're not with a single one of them have you
So where are you?
A majority of the upper court brings it to attention to Jun Wu only for him... To act like nothing's wrong
He says gods are frivolous and curious, you may have just gone out alone.
There's no cause for worry he says
But everyone is still wary, especially Xie Lian
When he tells Hua Cheng what happened it doesn't go well.
With you gone missing and Jun Wu playing it off it doesn't take long for Hua Cheng to be blaming the emperor of your disappearance. Whether it's out of spite or genuine thought he doesn't know.
When a week passes Hua Cheng gives up on searching through the ghost realm
Not as in he gave up on you but as in he's breaking into the heavens to search for you instead.
You think Hua Cheng can't find you?
You'd be silly.
Xie Lian doesn't encourage it but he doesn't stop Hua Cheng either.
And maybe he slips some details about the emperor's palace. On accident of course.
Hua Cheng doesn't care to tear through the heavens as he did before for Xie Lian.
He tears through lower court gods and upper court gods who refuse to give details about your whereabouts, and who won't help him.
It doesn't take long at all for Hua Cheng to get into the main palace.
Especially when most of the upper court gods have gone missing...
Coincidentally enough all your friends aren't in the heavens to protect it
Feng Xin and Mu Qing on a mission, Shi Qingxuan out with the earth master. And the security of the heavens, Pei Ming? Apparently he's gone too.
So Hua Cheng can basically walk through the heavens to get to Jun Wu.
Hua Cheng doesn't feel bad for ripping the palace apart to find you.
And he does find you
Locked away in one of the far rooms, puzzles beyond puzzles. He just broke through them though.
When he finds you he's relieved you have no wounds, and that you're relatively okay despite being taken away for a week
Shaken up from being taken away from the people you care for most.
Hua Cheng would kill the emperor right there if Xie Lian didn't make a clear emphasis on just getting you home.
That doesn't stop Hua Cheng from setting fire to the heavens though
Once you're brought home, it's a lot of hugging, tears, and a lot of questions about what happened.
You cry and tell them that you were scared simply for the fact you would never get the chance to tell them you loved them.
They most literally freeze in their spots and are like "??? For real?"
Once all the I love you's pass Xie Lian and Hua Cheng cling to you
Taking you into bed and worshipping you on the sheets.
You've had a busy week, you deserve to be taken care of and that's exactly what they do.
After that they'll never let you be alone again
One of them is always at your side.
Especially Hua Cheng

Hello! I'm really sorry to bother you with some stupid questions but I'm a little bit confused. Can you tell me about the TGCF revised version and what to expect from it? I made my research a little bit but I'm not sure I get the full picture. I just finished reading all the novels in official EN translation and it bugs me a little that I just got everything settled in my brain and now...smth will be changed in the revised version? What does it mean for canon?

I totally understand how confusing it could be! I'll try to help clear it up, so no worries!
There are two main versions of TGCF now:
Original/Serialized
Revised
The original webnovel was released in a serialized manner, and this is the one all existing printed translations are based on. Including the official EN translation! This is also what the manhua and donghua are adapting. It was never released as a printed version in mainland China.
The revised version was released in early 2023, in mainland China only (thus far). It has significant changes here and there such as: removal of some minor characters, revision of certain characters' backstories, fleshing out of some inter-character relationships, expansion of existing Hualian-centric scenes, several additional scenes (mainly Hualian-centric), modification of some arcs/plots (e.g. the Bloody Banquet is quite different -- all the way from the lead-up to the ending -- though the broad strokes of it remain similar to the original). Plus just a lot of general streamlining! However, the overall structure of the story and the main plot remains the same.
The printed revised version that was released in China is also a censored edition (for obvious reasons). There is no publicly available uncensored edition available for us to read. That being said... the audio drama is actually working on the uncensored revised version (which they got from MXTX directly, it seems)!
The AD is absolutely fantastic, and if you're interested in checking out the revised version, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's easily my favorite adaptation, by far. This is an old guide on how to purchase + listen, but it still mostly works (you can purchase the entire season with google pay now too). Follow this for enabling EN subs (MTL). There are folks doing fanTLs, but those are not yet complete and still in the very early episodes as of now.
Additionally, there is a fan translation for a few select chapters from the printed revised version, done by Clearnoodle256. Though while yes, it's censored, the plot stuff and extra scenes are absolutely amazing. There's a lot of extra insight into Hualian especially, but also other characters like Lang Qianqiu! Check it out here!
If you'd like more information, I also made a twitter thread about the different versions, but it's similar to what I have already outlined here!
MXTX has said that both versions are just as "canonical" as each other, and fans are welcome to pick-and-choose aspects of both. Personally, I adore what I have seen and heard of the revised version thus far (though there are a few parts where I prefer the original ver). It doesn't feel like a whole new story, but more like seeing the same story with fresh eyes and getting a lot more details! It's very exciting to be able to somehow experience TGCF all over again! 💖

At this point I'm starting to hope that the Hualian kisses will be in the donghua, but just Yuri on Ice style barely-censored. There's always gonna be a convenient branch or arm or passing fish blocking the audience's view. I could live with that.

saw some ppl on tiktok getting SO PRESSED about polycules and relationships other than hualian and that was kind of funny so i needed to make and explain my relationship chart
i’d love to explain to them (as a polyam person myself >:3) that love is not a limited commodity and hua cheng falling for yin yu doesn’t mean he suddenly doesn’t care about xie lian at all but i fear that would be lost on them HAHA
also if you… don’t wanna see that kinda stuff… just don’t look at it… don’t hate on people who do… life would be easier for everyone… but moving on
i debated splitting yin yu x he xuan x hua cheng from the moon quartet then decided against it because it was getting waaaay too chaotic

yes, i had to break the trio and quartet into different categories
mulian: mu qing always admired xie lian for his self-assuredness, strength, and also beauty. he was a bit jealous of him for a long time, but they were able to talk about it and they both forgave each other for everything that happened in the part. he's had a crush on him since the beginning, but was bad at showing it. xie lian thought mu qing was pretty and a very interesting person; when he got older, he regretted not spending more time getting to know him, so he makes up for it later on in life! he loves when mu qing is softer and shy and more vulnerable than he is usually, and loves how mu qing is a good listener and is pretty emotionally intelligent.
fengqing: well. you get the idea
fenglian: feng xin was always loyal, the first person to have fallen in love with xie lian, and dianxia’s first kiss. he would’ve never left xie lian if xie lian hadn’t told him to. he respected xie lian a lot. xie lian loved how much feng xin cared, and felt immensely guilty about being unable to give him anything more. when they reunite, he showers feng xin with gifts and words of affirmation (he got better at expressing his emotions) and they spend a lot of time together
xianle quartet
all the other ones stay the same, so i’ll just explain the two new ones
huaqing: they were once stuck together and had to talk just out of boredom. they bickered a little but the more they talked the more they realized that there was more to the other. mu qing feels genuinely bad about what he did to hua cheng. he has a hard time apologizing but he tried his best to express his remorse, and hua cheng was pretty shocked (previously thought mu qing was a bit of an asshole) and, since mu qing was being sincere, decided to accept his apology. they hit some rough patches now and then, but xie lian and feng xin help them through it. they realized they’re pretty similar, and team up to stir up trouble with people they don’t like sometimes!
huaxin: feng xin was jealous of hua cheng because he was the one who won xie lian’s heart after 800 years and was really happy when he found out that xie lian liked him too. he admires that hua cheng was strong enough to help xie lian so many times. he also likes that hua cheng is a little cocky sometimes (read: very often), and finds hua cheng very good looking. hua cheng was jealous of feng xin for being the first person to be that close to xie lian, but appreciates how loyal he was throughout everything that happened and finds him pretty cool. he likes the way feng xin curses a lot when he’s pissed (finds it endearing)
huayin
ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVES!!!
yin yu fell first, because hua cheng was so fascinatingly determined and also like the prettiest person he’s ever met. he was intimidating, but could be quite kind, as he was to yin yu when they broke past the employee/employer relationship and became closer
hua cheng began to notice the way yin yu came off as so meek and unnoticeable, but had a kind of poised anger and strength beneath all of that. he trusted yin yu with a lot of more important tasks, paid him well, and considered him as more of a right hand man or partner in crime than a henchman, then eventually as just a partner
e’ming also likes yin yu, and trusts him to take care of it
hua cheng finds it endearing when yin yu gets protective of him (both of them know hua cheng is perfectly capable, but hua cheng finds it sweet regardless)
yin yu cheered hua cheng on a lot with xie lian and patiently listened to everything hua cheng had to say about him
huayinlian/hualianyu

yin yu fell for xie lian because he heard about him all the time. how could you spend so much time hearing about how wonderful, kind, gracious, and amazing someone is without catching feelings a little? additionally, hua cheng allowed yin yu to visit xie lian’s temple and leave offerings, trusting him to be genuine in his actions. yin yu saw some of the paintings and sculptures of xie lian and found him beautiful. he knows a lot about xie lian's life, and truly wants him to find peace and happiness
xie lian loves how devoted yin yu was to hua cheng and how much he helped him. he knows those years were hard for hua cheng, and he’s glad that he had a companion (contrary to what people say about “cheating”, xie lian is incredibly happy that hua cheng managed to find love while he was waiting). i know yin yu is canonically “plain”, but xie lian loves him and thinks he’s very handsome :) he gives him a lot of compliments and words of affirmation
blackmoon (yinxuan)
taking a moment to appreciate that very awesome ship name
yin yu thought he xuan was terrifying and intense, only to discover that. he’s just a guy (/pos). but he does have a lot going on! he has urges and a complex history and emotions he doesn’t show to a lot of people and plans within plans and is generally such an interesting person with so many layers to him. beneath a lot of those layers is a guy who’s kind and smart and would’ve stayed kind and smart if his life wasn’t utterly ruined
he xuan initially thought yin yu was just kind of pathetic, but learned more about him and started to like him more. he finds his passion really attractive, loves how genuinely sweet, kind, and gentle he is as well as how harsh, cruel, and unrelenting he can be. he treats he xuan well and makes him feel human and real and knows when to leave him alone and knows when he wants attention and cooks for him and-
they feel seen around each other, having experienced similar things (such as having their destiny “stolen” in different ways though) and have experienced suffering in such a firsthand way. they’re ready to just chill together now :)
moon quartet (hua cheng, xie lian, he xuan, and yin yu)
xie lian finds he xuan cool, doesn’t have too many thoughts about him. he xuan thinks xie lian is cute and also mildly terrifying (i’m definitely editing this later on, i just don’t have a lot of thoughts about them yet)
hua cheng and he xuan have been close for a long time, helping each other out with ghost king business. hua cheng let he xuan relax and chill at ghost city when he needed to, and he xuan kept a close eye on the heavenly capital, so they met often and bonded. they’re both motivated by something and are incredibly passionate about that thing, so they mutually admire the other’s drive and courage
i have the least for them so far, but i just think they’d be sweet together :] they’d all help each other heal and be able to talk to each other. they’d love each other a lot and take care of one another when they need it and be there when someone needs someone :3 idk they’re so traumatized and deserve to recover from that i’ll form more thoughts i swear

..im also sorry this took forever for me to answer, i was busy with school n some other things and i completely forgot about my requests and when i remember i just said "i'll do it tomorrow, im tired right now" or "im not sure what to write for that" 😭 so i might take a bit longer to answer my other requests.
( I have to be honest I don't know a whole bunch about prosthetics so I had to look up a few things, and if I got anything wrong please let me know so I can keep it in mind for the next time I might get a request like this. )

- I personally believe Hua Cheng has seen a lot of prosthetic limbs before, since in the Gamblers Den people tend to offer up their limbs and they may get prosthetics to replace them? (sometimes???)
- Xie Lian I think would be a bit different. He has been involved in a few wars during his 800 years (that I know of..), but I don't think he would've seen that many prosthetics.
- You were a bit uncomfortable with your prosthetic hands, since to you it felt "weird" to not have normal hands (anymore, or maybe you were unfortunately born with out hands? i'll let you decide).
- Xie Lian likes to play around with your prosthetic hands whenever he's bored, because they kind of interest him a bit because I imagine he's never been able to touch or mess around with a prosthetic before.
- Hua Cheng doesn't really mess around with your prosthetics unlike Xie Lian, but I think he would offer to add some changes to your prosthetics or make them better (he would also clean them and make sure they're in good condition for you).
- They both definitely try to make you feel better about having prosthetics- they'll comfort you about it and may make a little joke or two if it helps you feel better.
- Both of them are just amazing to have by your side <3

I highly reccomend reading some of the changes in the revised version, as some arcs became very different there, in particular the Brocade Immortal arc and the Fangxin Guoshi arc, with more context added into LQQ and LW's characters in particular (and also more Hualian moments hehe).
As for QR, the changes on the chapters he first appeared on where, instead of HC making them arrive to QR's lair, LQQ was instead convinced by HC to confront QR... Who was near the royal masouleaum, and in this version anyone considered a "traitor" to Xianle ends up being severely weakened there, and this includes LQQ and XL, which made QR able to chain them, beat XL up and force them to fight eachother basically. Other changes on QR in the revised version include:
-QR working with resentful spirits from Xianle instead of human Xianle rebels and trying to haunt/kill LQQ since the beginning, as well as them killing all of the royals, King included (XL hacked their bodies to pieces to prevent ghost shenanigans from happening and that's where the misconception that he's the culprit began in the revised version). XL later sealed QR for a bit after this too.
-Instead of calming down a little after XL ascended (on XL's request), QR was said to become even worse after that in this version.
-Overall more manic. The idea of his obsession having incestuous undertones probably comes from some lines that were added, like "If you keep looking at me like that, I'll say things I shouldn't.", which are accentuated in the audio drama (which is based off the revised version), but I think your interpretation on this is more likely.
-QR was using a decoy in the masouleaum, but after he was beaten by HC, XL and LQQ, he was too weak, so he convinced a suicidal, alcoholic gambling addict to give him his body... And that man was Guzi's father. Viewing Guzi as a burden at first, he ambushed XL after the lantern festival so he could take care of them.
-No inn scene apparently.
The rest didn't change much as far as I'm concerned. This revised version really makes the whole "XL as QR's subconscious father" subtext more evident to me, from QR constantly calling himself his "little brother", pleading XL to stop HC from beating him in the masouleaum (right after he beat up XL no less), to wanting XL to take care of him and Guzi after he got his new body (and while it may just be my interpretation, I really felt like QR was probably envious of LQQ and his bound with XL too, as explained in a previous ask).
Overall MXTX seemed to make him more unlikable, probably to hammer home the "toxic fan/hater" subtext of his character, but she didn't completely remove his more human elements either, so his character arc is thankfully mostly the same.
Hi! Thank you so much for outlining the changes regarding Qi Rong, and if we all agree that Qi Rong is a stand-in for toxic fans, then it's a little...worrying that MXTX depicts him as even more vicious and unlikable than before, because this would probably mean that her views on toxic fans hasn't softened over the years despite the fact that she has left social media for so long, and the damage and hurt they brought upon her probably still hasn't gone away...
I'm assuming people have heard that MXTX returned to JJWXC yesterday, announcing that she won't be working on the 4th novel she originally planned, but she's not retiring from writing either. In the meantime, TGCF has be unlocked on JJWXC and the revisions to the novel have been updated. I will start reading the revised chapters promptly, and share with you guys any thoughts I have :)

Hualian a/b/o (Hua Cheng can't control his scent around Xie Lian)
Everytime you read about omegaverse, you read about the omegas who can't control their scents and go crazy when their alpha is nearby. Anytime they get a whiff of their alpha's scent, they feel calm and relaxed or go a little crazy. Alphas are always the calm and collected ones, the only time you ever really see them going crazy over an omega's scent is when an omega's in heat.
Thinking of alpha Hua Cheng who can't control his scent around omega Xie Lian. Xie Lian's the calm and collected one until Hua Cheng's in rut and his cherry scent is all over the place.
Xie Lian thinks it's cute. How Hua Cheng's scent is always under control as he looks down on the residents of Ghost City. He's always calm and composed, carrying the room with his domineering presence, but as soon as Xie Lian is nearby his scent goes a little haywire. The scent of cherries turns overly sweet as Hua Cheng tries to hide his excitement.
"San Lang, this scent..." Xie Lian will mumble.
"Oh! Gege I am so sorry! It gets a little out of control sometimes."
"You smell so sweet San Lang."
And Hua Cheng's scent will intensify by 100, his cheeks flaming. He'll thank Xie Lian profusely.
"It's a bit embarrassing because Gege's scent is always neutral. It still smells good! Gege always smells good!"
And Xie Lian will just thank Hua Cheng saying it was part of his training as crown prince to keep his scent under control, and it just stuck all these years.
Xie Lian loves the way Hua Cheng's scent will sour when he gets jealous annoyed with other people for bothering them. Xie Lian will be cooking a meal for them, and Fu Yao and Nan Feng will make a random appearance, making Hua Cheng's cherry scent go from overly sweet to sour in a matter of seconds.
"Ugh! What the hell are you cooking? It smells rancid." And the whole time it's just Hua Cheng's scent.
That comment causes Hua Cheng's scent to sour even more, and he'll growl out, "If you hate it so bad, maybe you should leave."
And Fu Yao will groan and be like, "What is /he/ doing here?"
"If you have a problem with me being here, again, maybe you should leave. I was here first."
Nan Feng will cut in with a, "You're always with the Crown Prince. Should we be worried about your intentions with him? You are an alpha after all."
Hua Cheng will growl and stand up, and Xie Lian will release his flowery scent, placing a hand on Hua Cheng's stomach, holding him back.
"Nan Feng, that was unnecessary. San Lang has no strange intentions with me. We are friends and he enjoys hanging around me. If you guys are here to cause trouble with San Lang you can leave." And Hua Cheng's cherry scent will turn sickly sweet as he preens under Xie Lian's attention, leaning into his hand. It's at that moment that Fu Yao and Nan Feng realize the "rancid" smell was actually Hua Cheng's scent and they decide to take their leave immediately.
What kind of alpha just lets their scent leak out like that? Especially around an omega? Especially around the crown prince???
Xie Lian especially loves Hua Cheng's scent during his ruts. The smell of ripe cherries, ready to be picked, or in Hua Cheng's case, ready to breed. His scent drives Xie Lian wild.
The craziest thing about Hua Cheng is that he's a submissive little sweetheart during his ruts. Crying and begging his Gege to take control. Xie Lian will ride Hua Cheng, choking him, high off his scent. Hua Cheng will mount Xie Lian, crying and begging him to, "Gege, gege, please! Gege let me knot you! Please, please, please Gege!" And sometimes Hua Cheng will let Xie Lian mount him.
"Useless alpha. Letting an omega fuck you stupid during your rut. How pathetic. What would everyone say if they saw us?" Xie Lian will yank Hua Cheng back by his hair, pressing his lips to Hua Cheng's ear. "Their cold, ruthless Ghost King. Their feared alpha, crying on an omega's cock. Not just any omega either. A useless trash collecting God. What do you think they'd say? They'd call you a pathetic. Little. Bitch." And each word would be punctuated with a harsh thrust, Hua Cheng crying out. Hua Cheng's knot will form, and he'll cry out, "Knot, knot, knot!" And Xie Lian will just smack his ass, his other hand reaching out and just squeezing Hua Cheng's knot tightly.
"Stupid alpha. Knotting the air." He'll laugh meanly and squeeze the knot tighter, and Hua Cheng will just let out a weak moan as he releases all over the bed, the feeling of him squeezing around Xie Lian tipping him over the edge, causing Xie Lian to fill him.
Once Hua Cheng's rut ends and Xie Lian is down from his high, he'll apologize profusely for his behavior, saying he didn't know what came over him and he didn't mean any of what he said.
"You're not useless, pathetic, or stupid. San Lang, you are beautiful and smart, and the most perfect alpha ever." And Hua Cheng will blush, his cherry scent going all sweet and he'll reply with a, "It's okay Gege, I liked it a lot. You can be as mean as you want to me." And for a second Xie Lian's scent will slip up smelling like fresh flowers, before he gets it under control again. Hua Cheng feels very happy that day. He got his precious gege to let his guard slip and let his emotions show through his scent, and he won't ever forget this day.
Hua Cheng always gets embarrassed that he can't really control his scent around his gege sometimes, especially when they're around the residents of the Ghost City or other heavenly officials, but Xie Lian is always quick to reassure him that he's fine. "Those other people don't matter and I love your scent." So Hua Cheng says fuck it to the world and lets his scent go crazy around his precious gege. Xie Lian doesn't care, so why should he?
