So basically it’s been confirmed that whenever we see Tissaia with her hair down, it’s because something unspeakably awful is going to happen seconds later.

Hope Ciri will remember this very important lesson when she meets Cahir on Thanedd!

It's genuinely so unbelievably fun to watch all these people mad over the Jaskier romance in this season because "It's an insult to the book fans" and "Dandelion is straight in the books" lol lol lol. Fuck yeah I love it when that kind of people cry. Y'alls tears give me LIFE. Keep up the toddler tantrums, you have no idea how entertaining it is. 💅

episode 2 here we go!!!!
ciri wandering through the desert singing jaskier’s song about “a little sacrifice” 😢😢😢
ciri devouring the skin cream because she’s dying of thirst 😢😢😢
ciri talking to herself about mousesack to keep herself company 😢😢😢
that’s my baby girl 😢😢😢
i’m really happy we got more of “a little sacrifice”! that we got some of the agloval/sh’eenaz lore in the lyrics!
ciri wandering in the desert had always felt like something that should be boring in the books but in reality i love it. i guess because in a lot of ways, it feels like ciri in the desert is where we start to feel the shape of the narrative shifting. it’s where ciri starts to come into her own as the protagonist of the series.
i love ciri, i love getting some of her interiority, i love her struggles and defeats and triumphs with magic, i love her darkness, i love her rage, i love her fierceness, i love her devotion, i love her doggedness
i’m glad that, at least so far, we’re really taking the time with ciri here

‼️ SPOILERS FOR THE WITCHER S3 VOLUME 2 UNDER THE CUT‼️ (GIF BY ME)
Tumblr media
Aaaargh I need to know what is happening heeeereee
Why is Yen so desperate to get to Jaskier?
And why does Jaskier look so shellshocked?
Look at his lil face though
Tumblr media
Look at his little devastated face and how he clings to Yen
How they cling to each other
Does it have something to do with Geralt? Has Radovid just been brutally murdered? Did Yen think Jaskier was dead and is overcome with relief to find him alive?
I need to know 😭😭😭😭

Tomorrow May Be Gone Chapter 2
Chapter 2 is up! I adore the hints of Fringilla and Cahir's relationship that I was able to drop in this chapter. I really love their dynamic and I could natter on about it endlessly. I definitely need to write more with those two and the wonderful evolution they have unwilling and forced to work together allies and rivals to Cahir quite literally trying to cover Fringilla with his body during the Siege of Aretuza. Despite her being a mage who can project her own personal shield. Look, he's pretty but he's not very smart. 🤣

Is it just me or is series 3 feeling far more YA and immature than seasons 1 and 2? I mean series 1 had big battle scenes, sex scenes and shirtless scenes, it felt big budget and actual fantasy, season 2 was a step down plot wise but still felt more adult, but season three was kinda meh? I mean the soap opera stuff with Jask and Radovid, constant crying, constant swearing, the constant colour of magic coming out of mage's hands instead of actual spells, the god awful green screen and even worse scripts. The constant choppy changes in camera work and scenes and the constant close ups just made it feel cheaper and duller. It feels more Shadow and Bone rather than the Game of Thrones aura the previous seasons have.

Happy Witcher S3 trailer day! Some notes:
Can Phillippa Eilhart please hold me at knife point, too
Anya Chalotra continues to be gorgeous at all times
Is Jaskier wearing eyeliner? Am I seeing things?
Geralt is in the trailer for thirty-five seconds, which is frankly absolutely fine with me
Looooove the visual of The Wild Hunt
Do not love that it's split into two volumes?
Also who approved that horrid font in that part of the trailer, Jesus
I remain deluded about yennskier forever even tho it's clear that since Jaskier's tacit coming out in Blood Origin that we are really pushing the nuclear family angle again.
Gonna be so fucking annoying about Yen getting to do magic again

okay so that kiss with he-who-must-not-be-named was indescribably awful but you must admit it was quite gay of him to draw comparisons between himself and Yennefer and say that Yennefer and Tissaia love each other before doing it 😂

Just finished watching part 1 and here are my initial thoughts:
YAY more YENRALT
YAY more family dynamics with Geralt - Yennefer - Ciri
YAY more family dynamics with Geralt - Yennefer - Ciri - AND UNCLE JASKIER!
OH Thank you Universe - the writers kept Philippa Lesbian.
Was...was that Mistle? Are we going to have Ciri's girlfriend introduced early?
Finally we are seeing intelligent spy Jaskier
Okay ngl I love how they handled Ciri's insecurity about who she is. She leans more on her witcher side but she's also a source and has magic.
Ngl Blake Edwards as Emhyr is hot.
Dijkstra shines in every scene he's in - I'm very amused by the BDSM dynamics he has with Philippa 😂👌
I'll have to admit I like how the Thanedd party scene was presented and how it resolved the sharded ice love triangle and it has to be one of my favorite episodes so far (I'm still waiting for part 2 to see if it will be THE favorite episode of Henry's last season)
Given that the next episode will finally be the Thanedd Coup I am SO ready for it. Nice cut between the first and second parts because after the Thanedd Coup everything DRASTICALLY get more exciting (although also bittersweet because it separates the main trio once again).

The very worst thing about his situation—more upsetting than his impending death, even—was that Istredd had The Book of Monoliths in his hand, the text that promised to explain so many mysteries he’d explored for decades. And he wasn’t going to get to read it.

After watching Season 3, Episode 6, I knew this had to happen. I mean, the writers gift wrapped this concept. Thank you, writers. Now I’m very excited for Season 4.

I'm so mad, y'all. I finished Witcher s3 last night and... I'm just mad.
I liked it.
S2 was a mess. I hated the complete mischaracterization of the other witchers (I'll never forgive them for Eskel in particular but Papa Vesemir was all wrong, too), I thought the whole magic rocks thing was a stupid and unnecessary addition to the Conjunction of the Spheres storyline, and was either bored or annoyed most of that season.
And knowing that s3 was going to be Cavill's last made me think that it was going to be bad like s2.
But I liked it. It had character development and relationship development and friendships and my faves acting like a family. Found family is my fucking narrative catnip, y'all. And Yen feeling like Ciri is her daughter (and finally reconciling with Tissaia) and just...
Ugh. I liked it.
And I hate the idea that next season we'll have to deal with the lesser Hemsworth getting Darrened into the storyline like we're just supposed to believe this guy who looks ten years younger is Geralt. I was skeptical about Cavill in the role at first because I've played the game a million times, but he really lived in that role.
I'm mad.

“i’ve known you since your voice cracked. never seen you sleep past dawn.”
god, it’s so good. we see hints of it all in the books, right? that very personal, very complex, VERY emotional loyalty cahir feels for emhyr. the way that, even after being a man on the run fleeing execution, he still can’t help hoping to win emhyr’s favor.
so i love this. i love that we get a look at why cahir is so faithful to him, that we get to see this intimacy, this gracious father act emhyr gives him, throwing open his curtains and tutting him for sleeping in and welcoming him back personally with open arms and giving him a special mission.
cahir, his prodigal son.
it’s so good, and it really helps to bridge what’s always felt to me like a very big divide between netflix cahir and book cahir.
