This is my design for daphne’s enchantix as the fairy of the hearth.

I gave her Stella’s enchantix concept hair coz i think it suits her maturity. And the wing shape is from Iridescenttides on instagram. I liked that it looked dragon-y

Let's go! The last of the set! Next up should be the whole group together on my walls! A wonderful way to procrastinate studying for finals.

It took me way too long to realize that the poofy part behind her head is not her hair but part of her head dress. I did decide to make her hair mid length for more hair variety. Ya know, if you're gonna make her "corporeal again" why not make sure her hair length is the right length? Why is it insanely long with the rest of them???

Anyways, I only had 3 shades of yellow to color with, and frankly I was kinda scared that it wouldn't be enough to cover her. Thankfully it worked out. Although it did smudge... On her head, of all things. Thanks Alcohol Markers! I love and appreciate you! I feel like you could make the argument that it kinda makes sense in the shaded area, but it does all blend.

Say what you will about Daphne being revived not making sense (this is a kids show, there are no dead characters? Who do you speak of? Naboo? From Seasons 3 and 4? Never heard of him.) The Sirenix curse dies explain some things. I grew up with the Nick Dub and specials, so maybe this is my shakey memory, but Daphnes arc didn't make much sense. Like she was a nympth before the fall of Domino because she already had that form. But her parents didn't seem to recognize her in the film? So was she haunting the halls to protect her sister? How old was she, because in her first depictions she seemed very little, like 6, but she's an adult in her nympth form. I'm gonna do a rewatch to figure out what was up with her, and because Winx deserves a rewatch. (Right after I'm done with Sailor Moon).

(on a side note, I love rewriting a post for the 4th time because I forgot to schedule it for the right time.)

Oh wow they really are sisters, huh?

I refuse to believe that Bloom’s birth name is Bloom. Her birth parents have names as interesting as Oritel and Miriam/Marion and her sister is named Daphne. Admittedly the women have way simpler names than men (I tried googling Oritel name origins and came out with nothing) but I like to think Bloom at birth had a name like Alexandra or Alessia which means protector or defender and they called her “Alex” or “Lex” for short. (I personally prefer Alessia cause Alexandra sounds really generic to me ckpdsdjcpf). 

It would be interesting to have especially if the show bothered to fully address how awkward and odd their relationship should be given they were unable to be present for the first 18 years of Bloom’s life. In the reunion it can still be cute, Daphne would still introduce her as her sister and under the name Bloom but it doesn’t really click to Marion and Oritel cause they’re so happy to see their beloved Lex is alive and grew up to be so powerful. 

Plus Bloom having a different name as a baby would make no one seeming to connect the dots of who Bloom is until the Trix reveal it more sensible because like I refuse to believe no one connected the dots on Bloom’s identity when she A.) is the spitting image of Marion and B.) LITERALLY HAS THE LOST PRINCESS’ NAME

Like I get saying the brand new fairy who claims to be from Earth being the lost princess of a ruined kingdom is a stretch but given its a magical universe with infinite possibilities, it’s not completely insane to believe.

In my mind Daphne is the Fairy of the Hearth (like Hestia, the Goddess of the Hearth, in greek mythology. In my mind her vibe was very big sister-ly in the canon, like she was always protecting, being a safe space and comforting towards Bloom. So it fits coz she was the former protector of the flame (technically still is coz she protects Bloom ya kno) but in my mind she was never the holder just a protector.

Changed her colors a bit. The canon yellow dress is fine but I really liked the color palette from that one episode in season 1. Blue and yellow are great colors. (Plus a small change in hairstyle. It makes little sense, to match whatever Marion has going on for her. Plus, curls at the end :) )
