Would a dnd character be acceptable for the oc tournament? Or does that go too much into copyrighted territory/isn't the kind of media you're wanting to include in the tournament?
It's fine by me as long as you explain the lore (well the important parts to get your character, at least) ! I've tried to adapt the form accordingly.
If this decision happens to be controversial, I'll probably separate characters accordingly.

Would you ever consider doing an OC tournament?
Oh, I absolutely would ! I think that's a very nice idea, actually. There are other things I want to do first but I could make a form this week and open it to give people more time to find about the tournament and to submit their characters
I'll probably make small brackets for different kinds of sources (e.g. comic VS text only VS video VS audio etc.)
It'll also give me time to have a closer look at how OC tournaments are run and to talk to their mods (if you've run one, feel free to jump in - my asks and DMs are open !)
I don't think it'll be much different but it's interesting to have different points of view
I'd probably restrict the number of OCs per creator (and only allow creators to submit in the first place) if there are many submissions, though

Several of you share their artworks or even made some for the tournament and it was absolutely lovely to see it ! I have a lot of respect and admiration for fanartists and their works.

I love hearing from you, op. It's great to know that a media someone's invested in gained (even if it's just a tiny bit) some popularity because of the tournament.
I'm not much of a player but Chicory's designs look fun and from the propaganda I received it seemed many characters have rich backstories and that the storytelling is quite nice. Original submitter, I hope you and op are having a great day too.

So, to keep you up to date :
- Toph (Avatar : The Last Airbender) -whose name means lotus- won the main bracket of the Botanic Tournament !
- I've made the bracket (well, the one on paper anyway) for the Honorary Mentions (+ mushrooms) bracket
- I'm working on the bracket for the Pollrunner Edition
- It's likely I'll have a break so I can rest and coordinate other ongoing tournaments before starting those minor brackets. I don't know how long it'll last but I'll try to keep you informed
That said, I've loved the energy for the whole tournament and how nice, helpful and encouraging you have been. I'm aware I've been quite strict at time but I have the hope that it helped keeping a positive atmosphere around the polls. Anyway, it was my very first experience poll running and, more than 1000 polls later, I can safely say I've really enjoyed it and you've been very welcoming and kind
