What’s the hardest aspect of rewriting the series like between characters, or the world itself, or something like that

Hellooo :D

Honestly i wld say the hardest part is all the plot holes from the og show (coz i dont include the comics and WOW)

Some obvious ones are easier but some others are confusinggg. This is hard for me because other talented rewriters change a lot of the story or change the lore a lot for stuff to fit while ALSO changing major story beats. (Especially after season 4/5 which are all great and fun to read)

I wanted my own rewrite to keep as much of the feel and adventure of the og show. So for me the plot holes such as riven’s personality or bloom and sky’s multiple proposals are a little hard to patch because it affects the story a lot after The Pivotal Moment.

For example musa and riven have a lot of fights in the show because of the weird reset of riven’s personality but if we followed season 4, he wld have gotten better (slowly) and many of the plot points for riven and musa in future seasons wldnt happen, mainly the breakup.

Bloom and sky also have a whole of 2 proposals in 2 movies and yet they never get married and never act like a married couple. If i patched this up and allowed them to get married in season 4 for example, their future fights would seem so unbearably childish so i would have to think of more plot points for them with more “mature” fights.

Honestly i like that the winx are very much like slice of life (magic edition) but also always called upon to fight so i really want to keep a lot of it. Another one of my goals is to NOT ignore side characters like Roxy or Selina like cmon you added them already so might as well put em to use. Also i dont want any of the girls to breakup (yes i know breakups are a realistic part of life) but i always loved that every gorl had a different dynamic with their boyfriends (and their parents) and i liked the exploration for that kinda thing.

Another thing is the trix. They return like every other season and do i think its tacky? Yes but i love them too much to keep them away at this point. So another hard part is giving them the motivation to keep fighting the winx. Especially when they always lose. Icy has her motivation more or less with her whole season 8 backstory but Darcy and Stormy are blank slates. And knowing what we know about their characters, stormy can keep fighting through utter spite and hatred but darcy? I just dont feel like she would keep fighting a losing battle (esp after the ancestral witches are destroyed in the second movie)

So yeah those r a few things i think are hard about rewriting winx club (its mainly plot related coz otherwise i think its just akin to fun brainteasers)

I am going to start on a writing challenge that is basically like 1 practice every day and the prompts are all not winx club related but i will write them related to winx so that i can post it here and be productive :D

im working on the pov views of the girl's rooms and its taking longer than i expected... so in the meantime im gna do more headcanons :D

headcannons for the girl's roommate experiences:

Bloom: clueless, her dorm was really barren until their third year. since she was allowed to magically decorate her side of her dorm with flora, she decided to design it in a college dorm meets fantasy school dorm way so she can live out her dreams. her shelves are full of books (mostly textboks and history books because she wants to learn as much about the magical world as possible) when she is feeling down, she puts on her wired headphones, turns on her walkman and puts in a mixtape her parents made her before she left and draws at her drafting table while petting kiko. when shes like this the girls leave her alone since she is basically on autopilot and wont meaningfully reply.

Flora: FILLED with plants. she also decorates the rest of the dorm in plants. the rest of the girls worry about the bugs sometimes but flora keeps them in control in her room, and in her little greenhouse in the common space. her shelves are full of books and potionology ingredients. she has a picture of miele by her bed (and later a picture of helia as well with the first paper crane he ever folded for her) when she is down she hides in her little changing area, sitting with her knees to her chest for a few hours before coming out and resuming her day.

Musa: she fills the dorm with calming music like all the time. so for the girls, while in their dorm, background music is a thing. she stops it when they have serious conversations, and she limits the music to the common areas and her own room. (techna gets the brunt of it since sometimes musa vents her feelings through music in their room and she cant focus)

Techna: she tries to technologically enhance the room and she also helps the girls with subjects they struggle with (especially stella and bloom) she likes to keep notes and books from previous years in her hard drive of an arm, she she keeps them impeccably organised. when she stresses she overworks herself to the bone. you might think oh she works all the time anyway? wrong. she likes to play video games as well but when shes upset she just works works works. she only stops when she passes out. when she wakes up all is well. (she will learn better coping mechanisms.

Stella: ofc she dresses the girls a lot when they have events and outings, she also connects and taps into the girl's wants and designs their outfits based on that, (similar to how she does that to teleport the girls to places she's never been to but one of them is familiar with in my rewrite) when she is upset she gets kinda bratty and basically tears apart her closet looking for something to wear, often screaming "THERE IS NOTHING". after the anger subsides, she sits in her pile of clothes for a bit before using magic to clean it all up and going to sleep.

Aisha: she was really awkward and let stella kind of take advantage of the fact that her room was kinda barren at first, but then she asserts herself and takes her space back. she was really ok with her room being upstairs since she is a sporty person, and she sleeps on a waterbed because back in andros floating on the water while chatting with Tressa are some of her best memories. when shes upset she just kinda in a coma, almost. she doesnt leave her bed unless she has to

Thr girls havent had a big long gown transformation so imma make their mythix look more classical and gown-y

Currently working on the girl’s dorm layout. There are slight changes to the placement of the doors, and i basically tried to merge their earlier season rooms with their later season rooms together. Meaning i used some furniture from each.

ill try my best to do a few perspective views as well along with my top view.

(i am putting aisha’s room above Stella. So in later seasons when she has her boutique its gna be on the lower floors and aisha doest mind so long as no strangers go up to her part of the room and it isnt too loud)

Convergence

tester for like actual stuff that arent energy blasts when the girls converge that actually account for their powers working together.

Aisha + Stella = Rainbow Shine - blinds enemies temporarily and rains on them, making them lose concentration and get pushed down to the ground, giving the caster the high ground

Aisha + Bloom = Healing Rain - a sprinkle that heals a large area

Aisha + Flora = Water of Life - also a sprinkle that makes a lot of vines grow in a large area to restrain a large number of creatures

Aisha + Musa = Morphix Stereo Crash - morphix strereos appear all around and next to the enemies, with loud screeches playing through them to incapacitate and make them lose their concentration

Aisha + Techna = MorphoTech Cage - a strong morphix cage that has the technical abilities to adapt to almost any attacks that are used on it, also scans whatever is in the cage, allowing techna to gain info and find out the best ways to defeat it.

headcanons

roy and nex get together yes i ship them.

princess Krystal gets with her knight, Sapphire (nickname Sapph) they r roommates (i have a cool backstory for them)

roxy is also gay, she is roommates with krystal and they become friends.

mirta is also gay and her EX is Lucy. they remain friends but yes they r exes. i want her to room and date roxy but i havent thought out the timeline issues.

stormy is also gay but she isn't a relationship person, i think darcy is bi tho. she gives the vibe.

Not a question, but um- YOU SPELL TECHNA LIKE I DO I’M SO HAPPY SOMEONE ELSE GETS IT AHHHH.

Apparently it’s canonically spelled Tecna but Techna makes much more sense to me.

Some battle positions for the other winx are:

Stella and aisha are hard hitters, usually all up in the villains’ faces sending spell after spell. Aisha is more close combat, stella is more range and AOE.

Musa and flora are the kind to restrain anyone they can. Musa uses her music and like loud soundwave spells to incapacitate people. And flora restrains them with her oh so famous vine spells. This makes stella’s spells especially effective since the villains cant just run away. And aisha goes after the stagglers that arent restrained.

Bloom is very much a support

Both bloom and techna are strategists. Their work is usually done before the fight if they know its coming and during if its an ambush. They are great friends and are always scheming together.

In battle techna is a very strong defender. Her defensive spells are the best in the group and she often works with bloom to cover for/defend her while she heals the other girls.

For a definite “leader” i wld say aisha is more of a leader to the girls in terms of when they are fighting. She leads the charge most of the time and she knows a bit about seeking enemy weakness spots because of her role as a princess (even tho she was very sheltered, she spent her free time in the castle watching the soldiers train and dancing ofc)
