desperately need people to understand that alicent is a victim but she’s also an abuser and a perpetrator

that she actively makes choices to harm other women because of jealousy and envy and the greed deep in her bones because submitting to suffering didn’t get her what those women fight to grasp for themselves.

she is absolutely a victim, in show.

that doesn’t change that she abused rhaenyra and her children, her own son, most likely helaena given how she flinches every time her mother touches her, and is actively weaponizing the patriarchy of westeros against other women- rhaenyra primarily, but also mysaria and dyana.

she isn’t the moral, righteous force of good that even she thinks she is, she’s a wounded woman directing all of the rot, pain, and fury inside her at the wrong people and forces.

I haven’t seen anybody really talk about it but I like Bruce has some trans swag

Like, okay I know his name change was supposed to be because he wanted to distance himself from the band but let me have my fun.

Bruce changes his name and Clay and Branch immediately start calling him Bruce. John Dory is the only one who still calls him Spruce and even Clay has to correct him bc John has trouble coming to terms with the fact that his brothers have forged their own identities.

AND Bruce was set having one body type (absolutely ripped) because that’s what was expected of him, but after he leaves he finds a life and a body he’s happier in and doesn’t feel the need to change for anyone.

I’m sure I don’t need to dig into the metaphors, Bruce with trans swag!!!

sometimes i think about sullivan and how his n iruma’s relationship progresses and what made him choose iruma. i mean it was probably something to do with delkira that made him pick iruma up but i also think about that comment he makes early on in the series, that the others in the 3 greats have grandkids and he doesnt and how hed love to have a grandkid. and how he sends iruma to babyls partly because thats what a proper caretaker is meant to do. and how at the beginning maybe hes playacting and thinking yes this is the boy i have brought over for unspecified reasons, My Grandson, and i am the Grandfather (yay!) but its only later on that The Grandson becomes Iruma Suzuki first and then Sullivan’s Grandson second. and then i get happy about it

there’s a special place in hell for people who take the time and go through the effort of leaving negative comments on fanfics, like-- what is wrong with you, what is LEGITIMATELY wrong with you? I’m so angry and so devastated on behalf of everyone who has been harrassed like this and who is going through something like this right now. There’s no excuse for shitty behavior - if you intentionally leave a hurtful comment on something someone created and put out there for other people’s enjoyement, for free, after spending probably HOURS if not WEEKS or MONTHS or longer on it, you’re an incredibly shitty, disgusting, miserable waste of space of a person be better

I FINISHED THE MEGAFIC!!! at last!!! *weeps in ‘prefers to write rather than edit’ relief*

I will probably post the first chapter this Friday and then every few days thereafter :) There are 31 chapters, so this will probably be going on for a while.

On that note - some of the chapters are QUITE lengthy, so could I ask that (if people feel up to it) people try to comment on various parts of the chapter as well as whatever the ending scene is? No worries if that’s your preferred commenting style, I always prefer a comment to no comment, but there’s a few chapters where I’m super interested in hearing what people think of the opening scene or a particular one of the middle scenes :) and as always, please please please feel free to speculate on what you think will happen or theorize as to what characters are thinking/feeling/doing - those are some of my favorite comments!

And I’ll kill you if you don’t kill me first.” Maybe a little far fetched but really just let him be a tad unhinged. His memories are fucked and he wants to destroy the world. Let it be quiet, it’s scarier that way. Imagine soft-spoken Shadow whispering in your ear that he’ll let you kill him right now. He’s not actually like that, but he’s trying to get Sonic out of his way. It’s a bit cynical and funny to him.
