Hiya!! This may sound like a weird ask question but my autistic brain and it’s hyper fixations won’t let me live until I have this all figured out. So I watched moon knight and obviously became obsessed with Layla, the thing is, I love her outfits, and I feel like there ain’t enough on the show!! Like literally only three outfits maybe four that we can see and I need more it makes me sad. Could you maybe recommend me some other characters with the same style as her, or give me some links to Pinterest outfits that would fit her? I saw your stevens apartment post and I know a ‘I never miss a detail’ person when I see one which I adore about you being honest. Thanks for reading I know it’s weird lmao 🤭
He anon!! I don’t know if you ended up finding other answers, this got lost in my drafts while answering and I’m only just getting to it now (edit: got lost in drafts again while half finished and I’ve wrapped up some pieces to finally post it now months later), but I hope this helps! I unfortunately am not a fashion focused person nor someone as familiar w a wide range of characters outside of my interests as far as immediately available brain information, but I’ll do what I can :-) This is more of a post examining Layla’s outfit details and trends, so make of that what you will!
I checked costume designer Meghan Kasperlik’s Instagram where she’s posted a lot of the details of the costuming process, however the general focus seems to be on the suits and godly designs. I also couldn’t find any immediately available interviews talking about the choices made with Layla. Still! Here’s her post on the behind the scenes for the Scarlet Scarab costume, with detail shots and some notes.
instagram
(No ID available for video)
As far as more regular outfit stuff for Layla, here’s my own peeking and observations! These are the outfits we see her in in show (excluding the Duat Layla, the look she takes to blend in with Harrow’s men, and Scarlet Scarab, as those are outside of her canonic own fashion choices and wardrobe).
Summon the Suit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What we see here is a more casual outfit, but still somewhat tactical. This is what Layla wore to go looking for Marc after his radio silence, a situation she wasn’t sure was his choice or because he was in danger. As such, we can assume this is a generally a more mission oriented outfit, tactical but able to blend in with civilian crowds. Stuff to notice!
There are colors but they are more muted
The pants are not loose and are sturdy while still allowing for good movement, but are not leggings or stretchy fabric
The pants are also somewhat high waisted/pulled up, with the top tucked in
She is wearing rings on her right hand, even for a more official mission (will go more in depth in next outfit)
She has a watch on her left wrist
More a fun fact, but the jacket mirrors/resembles the scarlet scarab design/look, which is a really fun character detail and good foreshadowing
The Friendly Type:
Layla’s most outfit heavy episode :-D These show some rly interesting trends in her choices and allows us to see her more casual outfit looks, and what she wears outside of business.
Outfit one, opening scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one we never get a super clear shot of, but it’s what she wears while getting her passport forged. She’s with a friend, but doing slightly more illegal activity. I don’t know where she is when this happens, but things to note!
Big comfy black leather jacket, a black shirt, and black (skinny?) jeans
Darker tones again, possibly because she had to blend in or be under the radar for this meeting, but also may just be a casual look as her wardrobe trends darker
Pants are not loose but still flexible again, and are high waisted/pulled up again
Rings! Same as from summon the suit, on the same hands. These seem to stay constant in all following outfits. Will have their own mini section
A loose gold chain necklace
Still has her watch
Outfit 2, confronting Marc in Cairo:
Tumblr media
This is Likely Layla’s most casual and every day type outfit we see her in during the show. She’s clearly been about town, having grabbed a drink, changed, and been looking for Marc. Things to note!
A bit more color again with the pinkish pants, but still a dimmer shade, nothing too bright, but cute and casual
Pants have a button and are pulled up higher again, seemingly looser than previous bottoms we’ve seen. I’m also unsure if these are shorts as I don’t have a clear shot, but they could be
Her top is loose and casual but nothing like a tight tank top, and has an almost ruffle look to it
Rings and watch as usual
Outfit 3, Mogart’s/turning back the sky (and what she fights in in the beginning of the next episode):
Tumblr media
Initially a more formal, elegant type look, meant to blend in well with Mogart’s vibe, but still present a professional front, and double for a confrontation she knows is coming.
Darker tones again, grey and black this time, with a loose vibe to everything with nothing too stretchy
Pants high waisted again, seemingly tied around her waist either with a belt, a sash, or something built into the pants
Sleeves rounded against the wrists
Top is sleeveless under coat in a similar cut to her more casual pink and white Cairo look from previously
Watch and rings as usual
The tomb/God’s and Monsters:
Tumblr media
Suited up to go into the tomb, all pretenses of formality have been dropped for something tactical.
New vest and belt, earth tones and sturdy fabric
A new shirt as her undershirt from previous was short sleeved
New pants, grey this time instead of the previous black
While I think she may have been wearing them at Mogart’s, has her gold snake earrings very prominent in this scene
So!! With all of this. The general sense I can get of Layla’s fashion is:
high waisted pants almost always
generally muted color palette of blacks, greys, browns, etc, occasionally with a splash of color usually in warmer tones like red or pink
Not much super stretchy fabric like leggings, and not many tight or athletic tops. She goes comfortable and generally loose, as well as going with more matte(?) textured clothing, nothing shiny or super silky
She has a range of jackets and jewelry
She wears her watch and rings with everything
And speaking of—
Rings!
Layla wears the same sets of rings throughout the show, a different set on each hand.
Right hand:
A gold ring with some kind of flat and engraved top, though I can’t tell the design on it in the shots we get
Two rounder and more generic silver rings
Tumblr media
Left hand:
Two more generic flatter gold-ish rings
One silver ring with raised edges and maybe details on the flatter part, unsure
This is the hand she has the watch on!
Tumblr media
As far as the significance or referencing of these with all of this, I don’t know! Again I am not tied into the fashion world and wouldn’t know where to start on research if these hold more significance or referential character detail than just being rings she likes to wear. But it’s an interesting detail to see her preferences and that she keeps these as well as her earrings on on missions and in deadly situations.
She doesn’t do this with necklaces, and it makes me think it’s likely related to function. Rings can help with punching (debatably) and earrings won’t cause a disadvantage, but a necklace would be a choking, tangling, or face-hitting hazard. The one time we do see her wear a necklace during active mission time is at Mogart’s, and of course, we see that’s because it’s specifically worn to be layer used as a weapon.
So! Again sorry this took so long, not even sure if you’ll see this if you don’t follow me, and I know I am more presenting information and details over analysis or giving you alternative looks, but I hope this was at least interesting and helped some for vibes to look for!
Also if anyone has things to add in about details I missed (it’s been long enough now I don’t remember if I rewatched the episodes to examine shots or not), or significance or references I didn’t pick up as someone not familiar with fashion, please feel free to add it in a reblog! Similar to my Steven’s flat layout post I’m more than happy to have this be a growing and changing source of Layla outfit information and discussion :-)

What are your thoughts on this episode? Especially about Jordan and Layla together and individually?
I thought Jordan's stuff with football was really interesting. I'm really glad Jordan finally has a guy. I just hope his guy really has best interest in mind. I like that he was still concerned about Spencer up to a point. I loved all the fighting between the two. They both have different motivations now.
I don't blame Jordan for following the plays and didn't think he did anything wrong. But then Lexi and NoCo enlightened me and said Jordan still could've passed it to Spencer a little for stats or something. If that's the case, then Jordan might still have some resentment towards Spencer, mixed in with him trying to focus on being the best QB he can. I don't know that much about football, so listen to her podcast ep. Great!
You know what else I really loved? Jordan taking the time to be a listening ear to Asher. I think their friendship is so underrated. Even his, "why did you knock??"
I loved how much of a friend Layla was to Liv. She said things Liv needed to hear, and I really like when Layla shares about her mom with people she trusts.
I hate how much she's sharing with Ryan. I get the sense that she doesn't want to burden her loved ones with her ever-increasing burnout and numbness, so Ryan's a convenient ear. Unfortunately, he can't keep his mouth shut. Giving her advice about her dosage was so uncalled for. I rewatched the scene again, and there's a slight chance that he was alluding to her checking in with her doctor about it first. But he didn't say that, so I can't assume that.
Jordayla had a really beautiful first scene together. Did you see Jordan's face when she was rattling off his stats?? She may not be fully vulnerable with him about things she doesn't want to quite acknowledge just yet, but she is still so proud of him and loves him very, very much.
Thought the fallout from the "dance" was perfect. Jordan had every right to be frustrated with her. She tried to open up about feeling overwhelmed, but he obviously wasn't in the right space to hear it. He was probably thinking, "I turned down an important conversation with my coach for this?? What is even happening right now?"
And sidenote, but it was really funny that Ryan was just like, "yeah I'm out." Didn't try to defend Layla or anything like that. Just immediately bolted. And I loved that while Jordan was clearly annoyed about Ryan, he was more upset that she didn't book the wedding planner like she insisted she would. Again, bringing back the themes of "tired of people telling me a part of something when I'm not" and "if you're not going to take this seriously..."
What I like about jordayla's first three eps is there's movement. We keep learning new things about Layla's mental state. We see Jordan's growing frustration and continual heartfelt devotion. It makes for some good conflict. And they'll get through it! <3

Show me what you got
Layla in ep 6... Oof
Pairing: layla x reader
Tags: oral sex (f receiving), based on that one shot of layla looking down at mk in episode 6.
Tumblr media
Layla stood above you, smirking down at your form as you laid down on the floor after your sparring match. "Dont worry, im sure youll beat me next time" she said with a wink.
"this is the only match I never win in" you groan as you get back up to your feet with her extended arm, suddenly very close to her face.
"oh really? Why is that?" She smirks and leans a bit closer to your face.
"because I get distracted by your beauty" you say and drop your eyes to the floor. "Kind of hard to focus on a fight when all you want to do is pin someone to a wall and kiss them senseless, wouldnt you think?" You look back up at her, eyes firey as you challenge her with your gaze to make the first move.
"oh yeah? show me what you got" She says and leans closer, nose to nose and head a bit tilted, allowing you to close the gap if you just moved a bit closer.
You smile and grab the back of her neck with your left arm, pulling her into you with a bruising kiss, other hand on her hips pulling you both closer to each other's body.
Before you know it, you pin her against a wall and start marking her neck as she sweetly moans your name in your ear burying her hands in your head trying to pull you impossibly closer to her neck. You slowly trail kisses down her chest and to her belly through the thin workout shirt she's wearing, lifting it a bit to lick at her abs. Looking up at her she has her head down, eyes half closed as she stares intensely at you, breathing heavily.
"may I?" You ask as you toy with the waistband of her leggings and underware. "You better" she huffs, carding her hand through your hair and pulling a bit. Groaning at the mix of pain and pleasure, you pull down both pants and underware off her at once, throwing them over your shoulder as you stare at her dripping core.
"I did that?" You ask, smirking up at her. "Yeah, and you better finish it too while you are at it" she smiles down at you, breathing a bit easier and pupils blown at seeing you between her thighs so close to where she wants, no, needs you desperately.
You slowly drag your tongue through her folds, hearing her broken gasp from above you and the slight tightening of her hand in your hair, pulling you closer to her, urging you to stop teasing.
And stop teasing you do, flattening your tongue as you press it against her clit and lick with the whole length of it over her, humming lightly at her sweet but tangy taste. She releases a shaky breath from above you, indicating her enjoyment, so you start moving your tongue in tight little circles arount her clit as she moans your name, breathlessly.
"can I- I want to taste you more, is that okay?" You ask, and as she nods frantically you push your tongue against her slit and inside her, moaning deeply at her musky scent as your nose bumps against her clit. She moans deeply from above you, and as you look up you see her head all the way back against the wall, chest heaving with heavy breaths at your ministrations against her. You start to pump your tongue inside her and she thighs shake slightly as your nose bumps more and more against her clit with every push of your tongue. You lift your hand from her thigh where you were stedying her and push a finger against her folds, just working around the rim of her entrance slowly with the pad of your finger as you feel her pussy quiver around your tongue, you push your finger alongside your tongue and moan deep alongside her as you feel her start to drip all over your tongue more, your moans sending vibrations through her core that make her thighs shake around your mouth and contract slightly around you, cutting off your air supply and increasing your pleasure by a tenfold. You lift one of her thighs agaisnt your shoulder and start to move quickly, trying to dive your tongue deeper and deeper inside her, wanting to taste more and more. She pushes her heel against the middle of your back and urges your head closer to her with her hands as you moan against her more and more, intoxicated on her sweet taste and high on her musky scent.
You increase the pressure of your tongue against her walls and curl your finger just so and suddenly she is cumming all over your tongue and face with a hoarse and surprised shout of your name.
You hold her up with your hands as her legs start to give out under her and keep your ministrations until she mewls weakly and pulls at your head, overstimulated.
You make one last pass throgh her folds, lapping up the last of her juices on your tongue and hum as you sit back on your knees, looking up at her.
She smirks down at you, "we should do that more often, dont you think?" She asks, eyes twinkling.
You smile dumbly up at her, blown away by her beauty looking down at hour and nod frantically; "yeah, we definetly should".

I’m surprised Lucy hasn’t got self conscious issues with how much people compare her to people (her father saw nothing but his dead wife , her spirits always making comment between her and Layla, her guild makes see Lisanna in her ) that and that one ep when everyone was slagging her off ?( was that an canon ep or filter ? Its the one where Lucy turns invisible?)
Oh, she does! First of all I must tell you, with great relief, that the invisibility episode is filler. Even if it is canon, dear lord please don’t tell me it’s canon, it does not exist to me.
It’s a little less emphasized in the anime, but it’s made clear on various occasions that Lucy considers herself weaker than the others, and she really takes it very hard on herself. (Nirvana’s climax, for example. She crumbles and starts crying because she couldn’t get any strength at all to break the lacrima, then she resolves herself while talking to Happy. In the anime she’s determined while on the way there.) In Galuna arc, she’s clearly frustrated when she can’t get Taurus to disappear, because Sherry keeps implying that Fairy Tail is no big deal because she’s weak. (In the manga, she does not go the emotional flashback route, she forces him to go back by determination and power alone.) I think it’s most emphasized in GMG, where the author literally bullies her by making her lose literally every match in horrible ways, and she’s seen crying in this arc most of all because she considers herself pathetic. It’s really a heartbreaking arc for her.
It’s just not very strongly emphasized because her weakness arc is usually mixed with everyone’s “i gotta get stronger” arcs (and Lucy is usually not the main character of arcs, thus, it’s obvious who has the stronger presence each time).
Her development is much more gradual over the course of the story, but all the other characters get huge arcs of big, epic fights to timestamp developments to their battling strength, especially Erza who gets a new meaningful armour each time.
Lucy doesn’t really get any of that kind of emphasis. Not because Lucy doesn’t improve, but because it’s not really the main focus of the arc? Her big moment with Loke being able to cross the gate by himself (which was supposed to be a huge step forward) is a sidefight, the emphasis of that arc is Natsu and Gajeel’s fight against Laxus, and of course, Erza taking down 200 lacrima by herself. Her being able to summon two spirits at once is immediately stamped away by Urano Meteoria misfiring in GMG, and of course, the spotlight then goes to Laxus who takes revenge for her and Erza with Pandemonium, both incredible moments for Laxus and Erza to show their overpowering strength. Even Cana gets a huge moment to state her advancement of power with Fairy Glitter.
Lucy doesn’t really have a huge moment of power like that-- so it feels like she just eventually grew out of that trait because at this point, she’s strong enough already to not warrant any kind of ‘overcoming moment’, she’s already way past the point of being considered ‘weak on her own’. So, her old trait of being insecure about her strength is just kind of forgotten, I guess.
Note that none of this is said negatively toward Lucy. This is just an observation, and her character arcs are still good-- it’s just not very loud and power-based like the other characters. I’d say this makes her unique in a way.

I’m so glad I don’t interact with the All American fandom unless a new episode comes out! The fandom is so fucking toxic and nasty, especially when it comes to the female characters and ships!
Spelivia is my favorite ship on the show, but most of their fans are annoying af! It’s like if a scene or episode isn’t all about them, they talk so much shit about the character that IS being focused on. Cuz where did all this hate for Grace, Patience, Jaymee, Coop, and JJ come from?!
Like yes, Spencer is the main character and Olivia is his main love interest, which basically makes her the female lead, but every bit of the show does not have to be about THEM! Let the other characters have their time to shine as well! If all the focus was on Spelivia, then this show should’ve just been a CW mini-series!
And Spelivia stans need to stop switching up on the characters that y’all swear y’all loved just cuz they might’ve said or done something y’all don’t agree with! Mama Grace was just letting Spencer know that it wasn’t the right time to try and get back with Olivia when they had pretty much JUST STARTED their break and then here y’all go saying she’s toxic, fake, and Spencer needs to get away from her... His own mom… who has literally been there for him since day 1 and was just trying to stop HER SON WHO SHE LOVES WITH ALL HER HEART from doing something that would make Olivia push him away more! Mind you, Spencer wouldn’t have even been able to stay at Beverly which gave Spelivia all this time to interact if Grace didn’t agree to him moving in with the Baker’s 😳
And the fanwars between stans of the different female characters and ships in the AA universe? Oh, I’m so tired! I miss when this fandom used to be normal before S3! If the characters can move on from their arguments and breakups, y’all should too! Like, why is the fandom still having Jimone vs. Jordayla debates when Simone is at a whole other school with two completely new love interests and SHE was the one who broke it off with Jordan?!
Why is most of the fandom (or at least Jimone and Spelivia stans) trying so hard to erase Layla and her bond with Olivia when they’ve been best friends since childhood?! They had love triangle drama over Spencer and stopped talking for a bit, but they moved past that SEASONS AGO and are closer than ever! Istg, y’all mfs act like they never made up and Olivia hates Layla’s guts or something! STOP PROJECTING ALREADY!
Also, if Spelivia and Jimone are “the true core 4 of AA” why aren’t Jordan and Simone together 😳? Simone has two other men smiling and kicking their feet when she gives them even the smallest bit of attention and Jordan is marrying the woman that has made him happier than he’s been in a long time. I need y’all to MOVE TF ON!

Marvel’s Moon Knight was a fun adventure that I wasn’t expecting - (spoilers below)
So I knew pretty much nothing about Moon Knight going into it. I saw the trailer and thought it looked awesome, but that’s it.
I liked doing the thing where I wait for all of the episodes to be out before I watch so that I can binge them (i had to log out of pinterest to prevent spoilers) and I have to say that based on the vague reviews I’ve seen, I expected it to be absolute trash.
But honestly -
Moon Knight was pretty fucking awesome.
I really liked the horror undertone that they played up, mostly in the first episode or two, but it was pretty cool. There are some parts where I was like, that’s gonna scare kids, but still very cool. (I’m talking about that first scene where the jackal jumped out of the dark at him)
Oscar Isaac was a great actor, how he switched between Marc and Steven so well. (it was reminiscent of M. Night Shyamalan’s Split) And the end credit reveal of a third persona hit the sweet spot bc it might have felt too crowded if Jake had been there a lot in the earlier episodes. Maybe if there had been more episodes then they could’ve done that, but I’m not mad at the reveal bc I had been wondering if they were gonna acknowledge that there was clearly a third persona or not.
I was waiting for the child abuse reveal bc that’s what the literature has been telling us on how DID is created, usually by extreme trauma. I’m really glad that they waited until the penultimate episode to reveal that and it was probably my favorite episode of the season with all the background info.
Layla was badass and I too am in love with her. I was so relieved when she was shown to be such a good fighter and they didn’t nerf her after introducing her like they did with lady loki in loki. And she was totally a smuggler and art thief right? Like they were talking earlier about how she steals artifacts and she was like, well they were already stolen before I did, I’m just returning them which, thank you for acknowledging the history of cultural theft in archeology.
It was interesting seeing how Ammit and Khonshu reflected each other in their ideologies, very much a two sides of the same coin kind of thing. They both seek to punish evil and enact vengeance on wrongdoers, and it’s a very black and white kind of outlook for both of them. One of my favorite scenes is where Steven and Arthur Harrow sit down and talk about the ideologies and Harrow basically tries to convert Steven over to Ammit’s side.
The differences between the two is that Ammit kills those with the potential for wrongdoing while Khonshu punishes those who have chosen to do wrong. One is predestination and the other is freewill.
The scenes where all the different gods get together were some of the best scenes, however, I’m gonna be that asshole bc it bothered me every time I saw it but -
The Egyptian gods didn’t have actual animal heads. They are depicted that way in art to represent how they had human forms and animal forms.
I also appreciate how the big fight scene at the end didn’t focus on Ammit and Khonshu fighting. At this point, it’s predictable in the Marvel movie/TV show that the hero and the villain will have their big CGI fight as the finale, but while it did have that, it focused mostly on the fights between Moon Knight, Harrow, and Layla which I really liked.
I liked the psychological thriller aspect of it. In the beginning it was very much a what the hell is happening question, and while that lessened as the show went on, we’re left with the question of the chicken or the egg - who is the original personality, Marc or Steven? Which they don’t answer until the penultimate episode. (i thought Steven was the core personality) But it still hangs onto the element bc the psych ward scenes really brought into question if any of it had happened at all.
I honestly don’t know what egregious errors this show committed to get such negative reviews and criticism that I’ve been seeing, but I loved it, I will be rewatching it, and I can’t wait for season two.
(is it because it’s supposed to be a part of the mcu and people are giving themselves aneurysms trying to fit it into the pre-existing framework of marvel?)

Initial thoughts on the end of Moon Knight
Just finished the final episode of Moon Knight so... SPOILERS.
Loved the series. I’ve been a fan of the comics for years when I accidentally fell down the Moon Knight hole of “Who the hell is this?!”
Having the series is suddenly having MERCHANDISE. And I’m a whore for merchandise. Which, back in the day meant I could find a glass with the logo and that was it. Now my wallet is crying and I don’t care. It also means the comic is staying alive.
The comic has had a lot of ups and a LOT of downs. Every time there is even a hint of a down, they will cancel it for years on end then someone else will pick it up and give it a shot and re-write it all over again....and again....and again. With the show, we are given the chance of keeping it going and also keeping the story more set in stone.
I’ll do a comic review post later. For now, let’s focus on the show!
Steven. Oh my sweet lovely Steven. I would do anything for Steven. I love how they made him in the show. I’ll fight anyone that comes after Steven.
Marc. Grumpy idiot child. Marc was never the brains of the operation. He is also a brutal fighter. I do love that they kept that in. Marc is known for slamming into things full force, not blocking punches, and just getting messed up in every fight because he wants/needs to feel the pain.
Jake. Mother fucking Jake.  In the comics, Jake has gone through so many revisions. Originally he was the middle man. He ran the streets, had a lot of friends that were his eyes and ears to what was going on, and cared about people. He was kind but also knew how to be brutal to protect what he loved. Over the years, certain writers (*cough*BEMIS*cough*) decided that Jake was the wild dog savage killer. I do miss when Jake was the grumpy uncle that sometimes had to go beat up a dude for looking at you wrong.
From episode one, they give hints about Jake. It’s a game on ‘can you spot the taxi cab’ as it slowly circles closer and closer like a shark. If you look, it’s always there in the background and it does get closer and more prominent as Marc and Steven start to fall apart. The cheeky bits in episode 4 were mind numbingly frustrating. They knew what they were doing. Especially for the comic book fans that KNEW about Jake and were losing our goddamned minds.
The show’s implication that Jake was a violent killer was a take (*cough*Bemis*cough). Fine. But I’d have liked to get more from him. Also I fucking called it in episode 2 when Khonshu and Marc argued. Of course he was talking about Jake taking Marc’s place. But the misdirection was unfair and they needed to do more.
The limo with the license plate was a cheeky call out to the current comics with Mr. Knight. Appreciated. But we still needed more. When did Jake happen? Did Khonshu create Jake when Marc was dying in the desert? It’s implied that Marc got discharged from the military because of a fugue state. Was that Jake? Did Khonshu sense Jake and make the deal later? Hmmmm.
Layla. I loved Layla. Oh man I loved everything about her way more than I thought I would. I had to do some research because I am not up on comics that are not Moon Knight...>.> Scarlet Scarab was a cool add on. She came in being smart, knowing how to kick ass, and was just so strong in personality from the start.
HOLY SHIT THEY RUSHED THAT. Her making the deal with Taweret was done SO BADLY. They should have met. It would have been so cute to see the happy Hippo gushing in person. Did they get along? I think they could have. A lost opportunity that will live in fanfiction for years to come.
And then what? She just disappears. We don’t see what happens after to her. Did she stay in Egypt? Did she make up with Marc over her father? What happened to her? Is she getting her own show? Is she doomed to background cameos in other shows? (looking at you Ms. Marvel). She deserves more.
How it ended:
Episode 6 was doomed from the start.
Every episode up through 4 was a slow build up. It had characterization and such depth. Episode 5 was the pinnacle. It was the best thing I’ve seen in a Marvel anything in ages. It left me devastated for days. I cried for two hours after it was over. It dealt with such dark and deep pain and trauma. Honestly, anything after episode 5 was going to suffer. How could they come down from that masterpiece of suffering? ESPECIALLY SINCE THE FINAL EPISODE WAS ONLY 44 MINUTES. Shorter than all the other episodes. Why? What happened? What was cut? Who fucked up?
The start of it with Marc going back for Steven was a good scene. Rushed as it was, if they had taken their time, they could have really made it something moving. I also appreciated the continued call out to Lemier’s run. “Quiet. It’s quiet.” Which is my favorite comic page in all of existence. Marc has found peace but at what cost?
I liked Layla telling Khonshu no and not letting him manipulate her. He’s full of shit and man did she see through it.
The Jake blackout in the battle was...interesting. I didn’t hate it. But also everyone just kind of brushed it off. No one thought to go “who the hell was that? Maybe we should investigate this a little later? Maybe not now because gotta save people, but table it for after dinner?”
So... The scenes with Dr. Harrow.... What...I need more time to process them. Cause I have no idea what to make of those scenes now. Leimer’s run was obviously a huge influence, but it was done differently and in the context of the show... I don’t know.
Steve and Marc moving more comfortably together and learning to share like good boys was nice. Throwing them back into Steven’s flat was a bit jarring. A callback to the first episode, sure. But why? He says he wants to save the world so... does he continue to be Moon Knight knowingly or is it all Jake? Why are they back in London? What are they doing? Why is he still tied to the bed? Is it because of Jake?
Why was it so rushed....
(THERE WERE TWO GOLD FISH BECAUSE JAKE AND STEVEN WERE TOGETHER. THAT WAS A NICE TOUCH)
I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS AND THEY AREN’T GETTING ANSWERED.
What was done well:
Marc’s DID and other mental issues (depression, self destruction...)
There are going to be a LOT of different opinions on this. I’ve heard people with actual DID praise it and others be utterly pissed and claim it is all wrong. The thing is, it’s not all the same for every person. So what is right for one system isn’t going to be true for another.
They did a lot of research into DID and talked with people that have it. They wanted to be true, but also tell Marc’s story. It’s cinematic. Of course they exaggerated things. What the bigger picture is, people are now aware of it and that it isn’t like in how a lot of horror movies portray it. There is no ‘evil other personality’ lurking in the shadows. No Norman Bates dressed as his mother. People can look up the terminology and hear the voices of people with DID now. This story was about Marc suffering and Steven helping him. It was about them learning to work together to be a functioning person instead of fighting and tearing themselves apart.
Marc created Steven out of the need to protect himself. To stay happy and loved. Steven was made to protect Marc from so much pain. When their mother died, it was too much and Steven took over. It was one of the more violent and painful transitions shown between the two. Marc almost forced Steven to the front and had most likely decided that he would give everything to Steven once he was done with Khonshu.
Steven needed to be loved and acknowledged. He needed to be his own self. He was “Steven with a V” and he needed people to see him. In the end of episode 5, Steven didn’t care that he wasn’t the original anymore. He was going to do what he was meant to do and protect Marc. Marc thought that learning to let go of Steven and face his pain was enough to make him whole and for a brief moment in the reeds and ‘quiet’, it was enough.
Steven made him whole. Which is why he went back. Steven didn’t need to protect him anymore. He didn’t need to protect Steven. Him giving the heart to Steven in the desert to show him they were only full together was nice. The speech was nice. It was just soooo rushed.
Egypt/Music:
I am so happy to see all the reviews from Egyptians about how much they loved seeing their home shown so beautifully. The director wanted the world to see his home and he did a fantastic job. The MUSIC was fantastic. (I can’t stop listening to Saat Saat). I am most certainly going to be looking up more Egyptian music. This is what you want when you let other cultures shine. You want the audience to ask questions and get interested. The bad guys are not foreigners in funny clothes with gibberish language or accents.
What was done poorly:
Okay, elephant in the room. Marc Spector is Jewish. Always has been. Pretty sure the original comic creators were Jewish too. Marc Spector’s father was a Rabbi. A whole part of Marc’s back story is that he could not get along with his father’s peaceful path. He had too much anger and turned his back on his father. When he started to serve Khonshu, an Egyptian God, it added to his dichotomy. He has always admitted to not being the best Jew. It’s part of his identity and what fractures him. He is driven by guilt and hates himself. He would be anyone other than Marc.
In the show, from episode one, you do see Steven wearing the star of david necklace. Marc wears it too. In the flash backs, they attempt to show his parents as Jewish. I’m not sure that they looked into the culture. Throwing out a funeral tradition word like “Sitting Shiva” does not a culture make.
Oscar Issac is Latino and I appreciate that they did not ‘he’s ambiguously not white’! He is still Latino in the show and I don’t know enough about Jewish Latino culture to comment full on about this aspect of culture vs religion.
They did so much work into getting DID right and Egypt right that they just didn’t have it in them to research that too, I guess. Which is a poor excuse.
There is a fantastic scene where Marc refuses to go inside to his mother’s funeral. He walks away and breaks down in the best display of emotional acting I have ever seen. Dear god Oscar is GOOD.
He throws his kippa (hat thing) on the ground three times, punching it and rejecting it. I’ve heard one Jewish person say they could relate. They have felt anger at themselves and their religion to this level. You reject it in the most disrespectful way you can. It never helped you after all, why should you have faith when you have been in so much pain? But when he picked it back up and apologized to it, clutching it to his heart, it was something he couldn’t let go of. It is a part of him.
I would have really liked to have seen him struggle more with this. Steven wore the necklace and had the same early memories of his mother. Would Steven be more religious than Marc? Would Steven be more openly Jewish while Marc turned his back on it as a show of defiance? Or would Marc be more willing to practice while Steven didn’t have the proper memories to know what to do with them?
I’ll have to go back through from the start and watch closely and see if my opinions don’t change on the ending. Maybe I missed more things.
Is there going to be a season 2 that might go further into things? I honestly hope so. There is so much more to dive into from the comics. I want to see more Layla. More of Steven and Marc figuring out how to work together. GIVE US PROPER JAKE FOR FUCKS SAKE. Marvel keeps doing the “Oh no. No more. Just kidding maybe more. If it does well we’ll do more. No. No more. YES. Maybe?” and I hate them for that.
SO DID I LIKE IT. Yes. Yes I did. Am I annoyed. YES. Yes I am. Was I expecting it to be shit? Yes. Was it shit? No. So I’m going to call this a win.
Also episode 5 made me sit down and examine my life and decide I needed therapy so.... Win win in the long run I guess.

Word count: 2063
Pairing: Steven Grant x Reader
Summary: You were promised good company and free food. You suppose that the presence of one can make up for the other.
Warnings: Donna being rude
Author’s Note: Just a little thing I whipped up while rewatching the episodes that we have and ignoring the slow burn wip in my drafts. Seriously though I think that if I ever met someone who looked at me like Steven did Layla in that stargazing scene I would cry on the spot. Anyways this has nothing to do with any of that enjoy!
❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀✿ ❀✿❀
You’ve done this song and dance before but it never gets any less uncomfortable. You hadn’t gotten your doctorate to attend black tie galas or flit from table to table talking with people who are more interested in looking like they care about the preservation of history than the actual act of doing so. Just thinking about the tiny finger food and trays of drinks that tastes like cheap rubbing alcohol to you makes your stomach turn and for a moment when you had been meticulously pinning back your hair you almost backed out. You wished that you had gotten food poisoning instead of your friend honestly.
Your outfit is new and fits like a glove but it’s not what you’re used to. You’ve always worked better in soft shirts and breathable bottoms, the dress shoes and tight top of your garment make it hard to focus on anything beyond how silly you feel. If it hadn’t been for the nerves keeping you from eating earlier in the day you were certain you would have thrown up on the drive in.
You were going to have to talk to the director about the dress code if you were asked to do this again.
The museum of course is stunning, the valet pulling away with your old car as its followed by shiny new vehicles that cost more than your flat. The doorman flashes you with a smile and a small ‘good luck!’ when he approves your ticket but beyond that no one even seems to recognize you.
It’s fine that they don’t, in fact you prefer it, but its still annoying to have gotten so dressed up just to end up trying to find a quiet spot to linger until you have to go on.
In fact, you’re about to say to hell with it all, speech included, when you find the small table towards the side with some small goodies and an uncomfortable looking man camped out beside it.
“Hi,” You greet him as you approach, wincing when he jumps. “Sorry, this just seemed like the best spot to hide, didn’t mean to scare you.”
“No you’re-you’re fine,” he shifts, a hand tugging at the collar of his under shirt and you smile sympathetically. He’s tall, but slouched inwards, eyes roaming the people and pieces in the space as if waiting for one of them to kick him out.
“Don’t do this thing often?” He jumps again. You wonder for a moment if he’ll do that every time you talk to him. His hands come away from his collar though, just as his eyes try to find anything to linger on that isn’t you.
“No, not really.” His voice is still half of a laugh, an anxious peacekeeping noise. The man looks kind even if he’s exhausted. There’s a split second voice in your head that whispers you should go mingle with the crowd, that you were brought here to talk and it probably wasn’t to this guy doing his best not to seen.
You tell that voice you’re here to give a speech and they’re lucky you’re doing that much when your plus one bailed last minute.
“Me either. Don’t know if it makes you feel any better but your suit looks good on you.” His eyes dart to you, openly taken aback. You wonder if you have something on your face. There’s silence a beat too long and you’re about to ask if you have something on your face when he finally responds.
“I think I look like a knob,” It’s barely more than a whisper but when you laugh the shock slowly slips from him. It’s like the shedding of a skin, the settling into himself ever so slightly. His eyes go a little less wide and a lot more open, his lips go from open mouthed to hesitantly upturned..
“Well then maybe its just my taste, never been the most fashionable person in the room.” You gesture at yourself and his hands come up in front of him, movements ever so slightly frantic.
“No, no you look great!” Your chest feels warm at the assurment. It had been a bit of a joke, of course, but the way he leapt into the conversation head first, so authentically, was nice. You didn’t get heartfelt from most people at these sorts of events, just careful social dances that made your head spin.
“Thanks. So, are you a donator or?” You let the sentence dangle as you look at him. His hands are calloused when you catch sight of them on their way to running through his hair, dark and messy. There are bags under his eyes that cast a bit of doubt on whether the anxiety that’s rolling off of him in waves is from the situation or his way of life.
“No, I’m a gift shopist. I’m just here to guard the, uh, the napkins.” You nod, but never let the smile drop. You don’t think you could when you’re busy thinking about someone earnestly using phrases like ‘guarding the napkins’.
“Thank god, I was worried you’d say yes and I’d have to suddenly be interested in how to take care of a jaguar.” Its a quiet joke, but it makes him smile and your head spins. Even when it barely reaches his eyes, body still angled away like he’s ready to run, it makes his face shine.
“The car or the cat?” you’re screwed if this guy is off the market.
“Depends which donor it is.” He laughs again but it’s more authentic. Less of a self soothe and more of a reaction. You can’t help but think that relaxation looks much better on him than fear. “I’m (Y/n).”
“Steven.” It fits him nicely. The soft beginning and quiet end, only a single sharp noise in the middle that reminds you of the drop of your stomach when you hear a bump in the night. Something tells you that he’s familiar with that drop more than most.
“Its nice to meet you.” when you hold your hand out he takes it with only a moments pause and his hand is warm in yours. “Did you manage to get something to eat earlier?”
“All I saw was caviar and I’m-I’m vegetarian so,” You let go of his hand slower than is probably polite and faster than you’d really like to. A compromise if you’ve ever had to make one, and a shitty one at that.
“Damn I was hoping you’d spotted something else. Caviar isn’t really my taste either.” Steven ducks his head just a little and you almost regret bringing it up.
“Sorry.” the anxious breath is back, the smile doesn’t reach his eyes anymore.
“Not your fault.” You do your best to sound warm without being overbearing and the way that he looks up at you from his furrowed brow points towards a success so you push onwards. “If I ever do this again though I’m making sure my attendance is dependent on cheese.”
The anxiety has barely started to slip away for good when you’re interrupted again.
“Steven! What are you doing?” You recognize Donna despite not wanting to. She looks nice but her particular style of biting at people that don’t listen has never been one that you mesh with very well, especially now that she’s scared Steven back into his shell. “You should know better than to bother a guest!”
“He was keeping me company. Something that the rest of the organization group didn’t think to do.” It’s knee jerk, and rude compared to the customer service tone you usually use with her. Some combination of the tone and the pointed complaint must break through to her though given the way she immediately pales.
“I-I’m terribly sorry.” Her voice is scratchy and her throat sounds dry. its not hard to figure that it probably is after watching her swallow hard just moments before.
“Yes, well, you should be. If I had known that it would be this hard to find good conversation I would have stayed home.” Steven shifts beside you and although you have a few other choice issues you’d like to point out you shelf them for later. You’d rather have a nice night than a productive one at the moment. “Now then, if possible I’d like to ask that, baring my presentation, I be left to the only decent conversation I’ve had all night.”
Donna nods after just a breathe, eyes averted.
“I’ll...see what I can do,” Her footsteps are the only noise in your little sector of the room until even those mix back into the fold of ambient noise.
“Huh, I didn’t think that would work.” Steven is back to that open mouthed stare again when you look at him. The adrenaline that had begun to push through your veins seemed to stop all at once, replaced with concern. “You okay?”
“Yeah, no, of course I’m just-” It’s Steven’s turn to gulp, eyes darting over you head to toe as if trying to make sense of everything all at once. “You said your name was (Y/n)?”
“Yeah, Dr. (Y/n) (L/n), I’m the professor of an-”
“ancient histories, oh my god.” His voice is little more than a gasp for air as he holds out his hand to shake yours and you let him do so once more. Your arm feels like its coming out of its socket when you smile at his enthusiasm.  “I’ve read some of your research papers. How the hell did they get you here? You’re incredible!”
He’s smiling again a there’s that silly feeling in your stomach again as you squeeze his hand. The compromise from early doesn’t feel so bad now having a second chance to hold it.
“Well, I was promised free food and good company, found the second bit at least.” The excitement drains from him all at once, a balloon that’s been popped. He drops your hand like it burns him and takes half a step backwards.
“Sorry,” Your heart breaks at the dejection in the way he waves his hands in front of him. “for holding you up here, I mean.”
“Don’t be, I meant what I said,” Steven scoffs but doesn’t look up.
“I’ve barely spoken. I can’t be that great of a companion,” You’re not sure what exactly it is about the way he says it that urges you forwards, you just know that the words are spilling out before you can stop them.
“Oh I meant about your suit. It really does fit you well.” You’re almost worried you’ve been too forwards for moment and then you hear it. His bashful laugh, the one that seems to be unsure if he should let it out or not, might just be your favorite of the night. You like the way that he looks at you too, something akin to being star struck.
You can only hope that your own flustered sense of self isn’t quite so obvious.
The night goes smoothly after that, easier when you smooth his ruffled feathers. The only interruption to your conversation being Donna, much more reserved and distinctly more polite, pulling you away for your speech. The whole time you’re on stage thanking those in attendance and talking about the newest discoveries in the field you’re thinking about the man still lingering on the edge of the room.
The way he seems to come to life in his retellings of Egyptian history and culture, spurred on by your active participation in the conversation. It’s nice, to hear someone else so invested in topics that have always fascinated you. You wouldn’t be a professor if you weren’t interested in talking about these things and even the parts that you know backwards and forwards like funeral rights seem new in his eyes.
The speech flies by, muscle memory for your mouth as you think about what else would bring him to life like that and before you realize it you’re done. The spotlight dimming as the house lights come up and the polite applause meets you. With little more than a smile you’re off and free for the rest of the night.
Steven is in the same place, and when he smiles with a hesitant wave, there’s a rush of certainty that you can think of a few ways to pass the time.

the minute y’all realize that Olivia and Layla are more alike than they are different is the day I’ll know peace. Obviously, personality and style wise, they’re very different but as far as their struggles and what they have been through, they have a lot in common. It was just dealt with in different ways/shown in different ways (Olivia with addiction and Layla with depression)
• Being/feeling alone
- both of them has dealt with this feeling, just in different ways. With Layla, she has felt alone/lonely from literally being alone. She doesn’t have her mom and her dad is always out on the job so for most of the time, she’s raising herself in a big ol house by herself. With Olivia, she does have both of her parents and a sibling, but they don’t/didn’t pay attention to her and was neglecting her. They were physically present but wasn’t/isn’t emotionally present for her and there for her, causing her to also feel alone. Maybe this friendship made them feel less alone.
• Dealing with labels
- both of them have dealt with the weight of labels. Olivia with her showing that she is more than the labels put upon her like how she’s not just “the addict” or “the coach’s daughter” or “Jordan’s twin”, etc. and forming her own identity outside of that and being her own person. And then Layla with showing that she is not the “perfect girl” label that others have put upon her and the stress of trying to keep up with that and how that affected her. Both just trying to own who they are and be their own people and proving to not be/be more than the labels that people put on them.
• Bad fathers
- this one is just self explanatory. Both of their fathers are absent in a way from their lives. One is completely absent with showing up every blue moon and the other, while always being their physically, he isn’t there emotionally and is absent in that way. Both of their fathers isn’t really there for them and while they’re trying to get better (well at least Layla’s father is), it still took a toll on the both of them and how they’re not really involved in their lives as much as they should be.
• Thinking of other peoples feelings
- as they shown in the 2nd episode of season 4, it showed Layla struggling with what other people would think of her, in terms of what she wants and not wanting them to be upset. Olivia has felt this exact same way. We all know that Olivia always thinks about what other people would think of her or what she does or just about anything and puts other peoples feelings before hers and that would lead to her sacrificing her own happiness so that other people would be happy. With Layla, she didn’t want people to think she was selfish or ungrateful or whatever for not wanting the party and was gonna to put a smile on her face and fake it, like how Olivia would do. Now they’re both trying and going to put themselves first and put their happiness first and not focus on other peoples feelings.
now as far as their friendship goes, I have my own opinion on that but as far as them individually, they have more in common than people think about so it doesn’t make any sense for other people to use their weaknesses against them to feed into some pointless stan war when their fave has struggled with it in a similar way. Let’s try to just come together and appreciate the girls good parts instead of always fighting over the same BS cause I know y’all get tired. And if you don’t like one, don’t talk about then and leave it be but otherwise, let’s just be nice and respectful and grow up.

The infamous Tecna gets Enchantix and drops to Omega dimension episode part 1
When you are a kid you focus your attention on the end of this episode, it gets you good. But I'm an adult, I 'member how nonsensical the build up was and how you sacrificed my girl for nothing.
Let's rewind:
Valtor + Trix escape Omega dimension and leave the portal open, which is slowly wrecking the planet, along with mermaids being under his control. It's only a matter of time when everything blows up. And if you don't care about mermaids and this oceany planet, maybe you should care about the worst of the worst that can escape any minute now
Tumblr media
And nobody does anything about it. The worst prison in the world is left wide open and everyone is minding their own business. You are on your own mermaids and mermans. I have no idea if there is interpol or UN like institution in the world of winx, but there should be
King and queen of Andros have given up at this point
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't blame them, maybe they've exhausted all their options. Maybe there's really nothing they can do
Since Griffin is out, or rather locked in, everything is on Faragonda and Saladin, with their small army of hocus-pocus students
Saladin comes late at night to inform Faragonda of latest developments
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm too old for this
Tumblr media
Girl what are you doing
Tumblr media
So what does headmistress of school for fairies do? Does she form some sort of battle plan, surely entire school of fairies with their professors can do something?
She goes Oh No! and calls her go-to team of teenage heroes, of course. One of them is princess of aforementioned Andros. Who is very emotional about her home planet, which Faragonda is probably aware of
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She does say to Layla "You can't go alone", but girls decide to support her and go anyway, after which she waves them goodbye. Like every other good role model she acknowledges that 17 year Olds are very mature and should be left to go on suicide missions. She even encourages them to do so, she knows them, she knows they won't sit by, especially since one of them is the princess after all. Winx go on their own and your conscience is clear, you did your part. That, or she's just stupid. You decide
Winx arive and meet the last hope of Andros - the sorcerer who created this portal long time ago
Ad he brought along - paper scripts. We're out of options at this point, may as well try that
And then they go swooosh into the inferno and I don't know why that makes me laugh but it does
Tumblr media
One again our girls are on their own
two of them didn't get Enchantix yet, great opportunity for growth

hello back after my qualification exams stuff, i loved imlie walking away from him THREE TIMES in one episode, symbolism or symbolism yah? Aru walking away while imlie watches so it's both of their povs on that song? also good. i also thought narmada's points were really interesting bc that's the crux of all the issues with imlie imo, she's SO SUNSHINE WONDERFUL BALL OF DELIGHT SELFLESS SACRIFICIAL LAMB and its like guess what imlie you can love people without burning yourself to keep them warm!!!! [cue ARS motivational speech] btw i don't think they're getting married just yet, i think it's just promo shenanigans like the car out the window which i personally think they shot when they thought aryan might still be grey/villainlite but then everyone fell in love with him because fahmaan is so wonderful. also think atif calling adi as majnu puts him as the obsessive one now that he knows malini's truths and out of guilt wants to make things okay, and then layla/her husband who were married and then of course everyone died bc lol persian poets were living their best tortured lives so i'm really interested to see where this all goes.
If ITV FLs learned to love without burning themselves out then quite literally the entire foundation of the the industry will crumble xD Imlie didn't just walk away from Aditya, she made sure she expressed the disgust being around him, which I loved more than the walking away. Far too often we see FLs in our desi dramas forgiving their spouses for every bit of abuse they inflict on them so to see Imlie not being able to forget, let alone forgive, Aditya character shaming her and accusing of being an adulterer was just refreshing to watch. she thinks THAT to be his biggest crime. it's not 'my love, my devotion, my care' that she wants accountability for..it was simply, 'my character!' that has her questioning him just how could she ever be the same to him and for him after that was treated as suspicious?
Wedding promos are never fake so yeah, we're definitely getting that marriage. the circumstances around it are still unclear but unlike that car promo (which STILL baffles me because it made no head or tail) this promo is gonna about something that actually happens. Malini's track is all but over. Tripathis got their son back. Imlie too appears to have gotten her closure. it would be stupid for the makers to agaiiinnnn get Imlie involved in one more of Tripathis ka drama so I think yes, the next track is gonna focus on Imlie individually. and what better way to do that than MARRIAGE?! :)))))))
Atif's sneakpeeks from the promo have been hella cryptic. I just wish we get that darned thing officially released today :@

This is an incredibly subjective question about acting. But for aa, what do you think is each actors strongest acting moments on the show for their characters and do you think each actor is better with lighter or heavy material or both? I only ask because opinions on acting is such a subjective thing, and you always have quite thoughtful opinions on the show. One person can see incredible where others see undetwhelming and vice versa. So it really is down to the audience and who they gravitate to...
Thanks for your patience waiting for a response.
Love that you pointed out the subjectivity off the bat. Big fan.
I guess I'll do the Vortex + Taye? Minus Hunter.
Taye is good at everything. He's funny and goofy and then really remarkable with the drama, too. None of this is a shock. I'm so happy he was with the show so long. And it never felt like stunt casting or "FEATURING TAYE DIGGS" or anything. He just kinda meshed in with everyone else and seemed genuinely passionate about the project. I think his confession of his affair and supplicating himself before his family and team is probably the best of his best. I also found him delightful in his birthday episode.
I think Daniel is secretly and not-so-secretly super funny. His deadpan dry delivery gets me every time. And this might be a hot take, but I appreciate his humor more than his serious stuff. Although he's great at that, too. His shining comical moment, to me, was when Frausto misses his shot at pool and demands that Spencer not say a single word. And Spencer fires back with, "How about two? You suck." Also for the serious stuff, his whole arc after Billy died was really, really great.
Bre-Z is also really funny. Especially when she's not the focus in a scene and just kind of ribbing and playing off others. She's a natural at that. I appreciate her humor above her drama. But she shined in her arcs with wrestling with her queerness and her relationship with Shawn in s1. And speaking of Billy's bday party, I really loved her there. Anytime she's sincere, doesn't take herself or anyone else too seriously, and is not holding back is just delightful.
Greta shines in the drama. Her s2 and s4 arcs were so powerful, and you can tell she left everything in the scene. I do think she's getting more opportunities to showcase her comedic chops, which has been very fun. Because of jordayla, Layla is a lighter character.
Sam also shines in the drama. S3 relapse storyline and her arc after Billy's death was a fantastic showcase of her talent. She's also very funny, especially with Mike.
Mike is obviously better with the humor than the drama. But following his story, he hasn't really been given an opportunity to really lean into the drama. And I'll say this again and again, but his work with his grieving arc was so well done. It was not loud, but you could tell he was in pain and frustrated and sad and it was all very true-to-life for some people.
Cody is a sleeper talent. I think he's better at drama than humor. And while he's excelled in his own dramatic storylines, I was most affected by his confrontation with JJ in 5x19. He's just really, really good. He's a good comedic straight man with Hunter, Mike, and Bre-Z, too.
Chelsea is super funny. Her delivery of "well I love cereal, bitches, and I guess we're all feeling ourselves" is great. Anything she mutters under her breath is fantastic. I think she's better at humor than drama. Though I thought her expressing her exhaustion with Coop was actually really well done.
As stated above, just my opinion. And if I revisit scenes in the future or think more on it, my thoughts on everyone might change. I just provided scenes that I could easily recall and have stuck with me.

I’m a Winx demon.
I just rewatched all the cannon content as well as the stuff I hadn't seen (S7-8 and the spin off). And I’m now in pain. :D
I just want what the early content did so well: healthy friendships, competent villains, varied relationships, unique characterization for all the characters, some semblance of a cohesive lore and world, nuance when it comes to the witches.
I want that, and I want it better.
I want each and every character to have an arc, where the end isn’t perfection. I want more focus on all my girls, not just Bloom.
I want consistent characterization, you can’t tell me that Stella is kind and outgoing and then have her only character trait be fashion.
I want more focus on the sub friendships between the girls, and not just in one episode where they need to “put aside their differences”, I literally just want them sitting on the others bed talking about homework and gossiping about teachers.
I want more characterization and friendships for the boys.
And once I know the boys as much as I know the girls f I want to see the couples together and I want to see their characters organically play off each other, outside a battle setting. Privately and as a big ‘ol gang.
I want to know the lore, properly.
Because right now if my memory serves me right there’s like three different thing that were born against the Dragon Flame: The Shadow Phoenix, The Water Stars, and the Creature of the Depths or whatever.
Also what makes someone the “Fairy of” something? Can no two fairies have the same power? You’re telling me half the magic dimension is fairies and NO ONE ELSE was the fairy of nature? or music? or whatever Layla is? (waves but like she has morphix like?)
And the timeline? This cursed timeline.
Like Bloom is 16 when we first meet her but everyone talks about Domino’s destruction like it was centuries ago? Did she get caught it a wormhole and it took her centuries to reach Earth and that’s why?
Also if the Earth fairies were locked away centuries ago how can Roxy be the child of one of those fairies? And we know it wasn’t some wormhole stuff cuz her husband is also alive??? Did she give him immortality and a bad memory?
Can you go to your previous transformations? Like they did that in Season 8 but I feel like Fairy Dust and a bunch of other stuff would've been super useful earlier???
Oh and I almost forgot; THESE GIRLS GRADUATED IN SEASON 3!!! WHY ARE THEY BACK AT SCHOOL??? AS STUDENTS??? AT LEAST MAKE THEM TEACHING ASSISTANTS??? THEY ARE GUARDIAN FAIRIES!!! DON’T THEY HAVE A PLANET TO PROTECT???
And I want flora to stop getting beat up thank you and goodbye.
It has made me so mad that I’ve decided to rewatch it again (I am clearly sane), take notes, and rewrite it.
I KNOW EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER HAS REWRITTEN THIS SHOW, BUT GUESS WHAT I’M JOINING.
this’ll be fun :|

ROSS LYNCH, CIS MALE, HE/HIM || just saw AIDEN HEARTE around town. i think they’re 22 years old and have been here for 18 YEARS. HE is a FAMOUS MUSICIAN here in san diego and seem to be GOOFY and ENDEARING. but i’ve heard they’re also an AIRHEAD and FACETIOUS… i guess that’s because they’re a SCOPRIO. they really seem to have RIPPED JEANS, COMIC-THEMED GUITAR STRAPS, and CHIPPED NAIL POLISH vibes.
Aiden Hearte (pronounced Heart), is a 22 year old who identifies as a cis male and pansexual, and uses pronouns he/him. He’s a Scorpio born on October 31st, 1999. His faceclaim is Ross Lynch.
His family moved from Beaumont, Texas to San Diego, California when he was four years old, and has been learning and making music with his siblings since he was five years old.
Aiden is a famous musician in a band called THE DRIVER ERA with his sister, Layla and three brothers, Oliver, Luke, and Jackson.
Aiden knows how to play just about every cool instrument you can think of, including all different types of guitars, drums, keyboard, piano, etc. He knows how to dance and act too, and is all around just a pretty talented person… and just pretty.
Aiden was in the drama club in high school and ended up landing a role playing Austin Moon in the hit Disney television series, Austin & Ally, when he was sixteen years old. That was his only acting job, and he soon after decided to focus more on his music career. He and his siblings started THE DRIVER ERA when Aiden was fifteen, and soon made it big in the music industry, with lots of fans worldwide.
Aiden lives in a pretty big house with the rest of his family all together, with a pool house that they use to rehearse their music and plan tours, albums, singles, any anything related to their music.
He spent a few years figuring out his sexuality and gender identity. When he was seventeen, he came out as pansexual. His mom took a minute to get accept it, but she learned. his siblings and father immediately supported him. He knew how lucky he was to have that.
Aiden struggles with depression and it has made things difficult at times with his career, and sometimes just existing. He was diagnosed at the age of seven and has been getting therapy ever since. He continues to learn how to cope with it and doesn’t show it often to any friends or family. He’s open with it to his fans and everyone around him, but he doesn’t show it during his depressive episodes.

Winx Club Season 5 Thoughts Part 1
It’s been so hard for me to make myself start this season because I know it only goes downhill from here but here I am at last. I don’t remember anything from this season and am prepared to hate the transformations (Harmonix because it’s impractical and Sirenix because it’s ugly) so let’s do this.
- I already hate the hair and I haven’t made it past the intro yet. This is promising.
- This is off to a great start. I got the wrong episode. Not by my mistake, however. Now that I found the actual first one, let’s actually do this.
5x01:
- It’s weird to see magic so publicly on Earth. At least they’re having fun. Though, I have to say that I am not a fan of the idea of them having a band. And they have unfair advantage over every other Earth band because they can do their own advertizing without having to pay a cent and it will still be better than any other band can afford since it’s magic. They should have just dropped the band.
- I am gagging over the fact that they have Roxy praise Bloom for the help but not the other Winx girls. They were all there for her and fought to protect her and tried to teach her magic. And at one point she even said she wanted to be like Stella. But now she says that only Bloom is like a big sister. Obviously a plot device to bring in Daphne since she will be resurrected this season and they have to set it up. Especially after season 4 forgot all about her. I am still gagging, though.
- You know, I could have loved the whole ecological message but I am pretty sure they are going to fuck it up anyway. Or just not take it anywhere.
- Ugh, Helia’s hair is so ugly. But at least Sky’s is as well. But what is that box Sky has? Not another engagement ring, please, for the love of everything sacred!
- Ahh, pendant. Yeah, their relationship is going so well that they will need magic to keep it in tact. Though, good luck for both of them will be to just split up and find someone that is actually good for them. Also, why doesn’t Brandon know about that? He is literally the squire and best friend of the prince.
- Poor Layla. She must be missing Nabu like crazy. Please, let her have a season to mourn and don’t shove a new love interest in her face right away. It took her a season and a half to get the first one and he was killed. She needs some fucking time!
- Love that everyone agrees that Sky’s hair is terrible. Even Bloom’s “It looks... great” sounds like a lie.
- Why is Sky going back to Red Fountain? Didn’t he finish that? God, just let them move on already. Also, he is not A Crown Prince now. He was the Crown Prince ever since he was born. He was crowned as the king of Eraklyon. Man, are they retconning everything?
- If Bloom cared so much about what he had to say, she could have asked Musa to give them a sec. I like the little Flora and Sky interaction, though. If only it could have been on a topic different than Bloom. I wish the Specialists would interact with Winx other than their girlfriends more. It would sell the friend group vibe better.
- Aww, I wish Layla wouldn’t hide her pain over Nabu. She probably doesn’t want to affect the others with it and doesn’t want them fretting over her either but this is just so sad.
- Love how Bloom doesn’t even remember Tressa. For a moment there I thought that it was her getting crowned which would have been cooler but yeah. Also, Nereus and Tritannus are almost identical. What the hell makes Nereus hot and Tritannus not? I am so annoyed I started rhyming.
- I love the idea of underwater tech!
- Lmao, gotta love how the king has already picked a favorite. And it doesn’t seem to be a recent choice either. Idk about Tritannus yet, but I don’t like this guy. I am all for him being attacked. He even reacted like an absolute asshole. He reminds me of Erendor.
- Ah, of course. Trident. We couldn’t possibly have another weapon when it comes to merfolk.
- Tbh Tressa would be the best ruler. She seems to have learned her lesson and become braver. And if she’s protecting her brother and doing all the work anyway, why not just crown her?
- Didn’t Flora tell him to wait until he is alone with Bloom? Why did he think a good moment to give her the pendant would be when Layla is visibly worried about what is going on and everyone is there with them? I wish he’d drop it and it would break.
- How the fuck can Flora tell that there is oil spilling into the ocean? The ocean is Layla’s domain and Flora has never been shown to be able to communicate with marine plant life.
- I hate how they had to show that Timmy is obviously physically weaker than Sky. It would’ve made sense for him to had built some muscle at the very least after 4-5 years in Red Fountain.
- How the hell did Tecna delete the oil? You can’t just erase matter out of existence. There should be a rule against that.
- Yeah, I was just going to say that closing the pipes is not going to work if they don’t stop the flow of oil. The pipes might explode but it will keep spilling. Seriously, this is basic logic. Nice move. Now it will be harder to stop because the spill moved underwater.
- What happened to Layla’s wings? Is the oil sticking to them and hindering their movements? You’d think she could prevent that with magic.
- This is what happens when you carelessly put something so important in your pocket. You don’t even need to be running a rescue mission. There’s a high chance that you’re gonna lose it anyway. Also, love how Bloom just left the other guy to drown and no one else went after him either.
- Layla’s awesome. She even managed to pull that guy out even though she was struggling a lot with it. I hate the fact that they forgot she taught the others a spell to breathe underwater in season 3, though. They could have used it. But of course, that would have probably rendered Harmonix unnecessary.
- Wow, they renovated the whole platform to make it eco? Why don’t they just do that with all of the oil platforms on Earth then? It’s not like it took much effort. I want to add to this that if they’d just done that (which probably would have taken a couple of days), they could have easily defeated Tritannus later because his only source of pollution in the first half of the season has been Earth. Because there is ocean pollution only on Earth, you know. They could have used that to incorporate an ecological message, except that would have taken work on their part. And also, most of the toxic substances Tritannus consumed were spilled on purpose by the Trix. So there goes a great wasted opportunity for a thematic message.
5x02:
- Here are my bad bitches. What the hell are they doing underwater, though? It’s kinda cruel to put them in a prison that forces them to use magic if they want to survive it. What happens if they tire out? They could die,
- Aaaand for some reason Bloom is the vocalist of the band even though Musa is literally the fairy of music and the only one that was initially having a contract signed.
- I hope nobody is expecting any commentary from me on the musical performances because I am telling you from now that I will be skipping absolutely all of them.
- The selkies look ridiculous. I could appreciate the idea of having small beings being powerful guardians but they will certainly not serve any greater purpose than the pixies did so this is going to be annoying at best. Also, the selkie of Earth was still there even when the fairies weren’t, right? This somehow implies that magical beings couldn’t stop the disasters that mankind causes to Earth even though the previous season said that it was the disappearance of fairies that threw the Earth into chaos.
- Aww, look at Stella and Brandon! So good when there’s no stupid drama.
- People really went cleaning the beach not just willingly but enthusiastically? That sounds a little unbelievable. I mean, they were supposed to be at a concert and that was an abrupt change.
- Correction, I wish Sky hadn’t lost the pendant so that he could have given it to her and this would have been over. Now he is going to sulk about it for ages and he is probably going to fuck up in a self-fulfilled prophecy kinda manner and I am so not here for it. Just shut up about Bloom and Sky and focus on the action, please.
- Well, Icy is now canonically a monster fucker. Even though she thought Valtor was ugly as hell in season 3 when he turned into a demon. He was uglier than Tritanus in all fairness but still. This seems inconsistent. And I hate her voice. Not to mention that she is already acting OOC when she’s not thinking about getting out even but about fucking him. Come on!
- Is the whole turning into a monster thing some sort of reverse Beauty and the Beast? That could have been interesting... but, of course, this is Winx.
- Yep, the selkies are absolutely useless.
- If the Trix don’t have powers, then how are they breathing underwater? Also, how does toxic waste restore ice and storm powers (there is some connection to darkness at least)? And if they went that route, they could have made their powers have an element of toxicity to them to make it more interesting instead of just having a guy boost their powers yet again. Honestly, the only good thing that came out of this is that Darcy and Stormy seem to be thinking more independently now which would be necessary in order for the DramaTM between the Trix later (that is just about the only thing I remember from this season).
- I wish Darcy would have used her hypnotic powers more in the previous seasons. They are so cool and would be pretty hard to deal with once you’re hit. It could have made for more interesting fights.
- If Tritannus was good, he could actually help cleanse the oceans by sucking out all toxic waste. He likes being a monster anyway.
- Okay, but the Trix know Bloom is from Earth. They should have known it was Winx from the second they felt the fairy magic in the air. That took them long enough btw.
- Of course, the monsters can also go on land even though they are mer-creatures. Makes perfect sense.
- Love how Musa and Flora are using new spells yet they look and act exactly the same way like the old ones so it is just same shit, different story. The writers are so unoriginal.
- Layla is strong! And Winx seem to be a little too strong against the Trix. Although, Believix is supposed to be really powerful anyway.
- This could have been the perfect setup for an Icy x Bloom romance. Sky lost the pendant so his relationship with Bloom is doomed and he later lost his memory so why not just break them up. Diaspro can have him if she still wants him (I don’t know why she would but anyway) and Bloom can get with Icy after Icy realizes Tritannus is not the right one for her. Everyone wins, especially, us, the audience. And it could have been a good way to show that Diaspro has reformed and she and Sky could actually be an okay couple. Or better yet, she dumps him and gets together with Bloom and Icy.
- Layla just kicked Tritanus in the face. Boy, I stan! And the underwater battle with weapons instead of magic is super cool, I love it! Wish there’d been more of that but, of course, only Layla can pull that off and we can’t spend more than a minute focusing on anyone else other than Bloom. Why didn’t Tritannus recognize Layla, though? Or did he just not care?
- Icy crying out for help? By a man? So not here for this. It is ridiculously out of character. How is he so powerful? Once again the villain is so strong it is a wonder they ever got to live long enough to get to the finale let alone defeat him.
5x03:
- Well, Winx sure are at the top of the popularity wave again despite the last time we saw them at Alfea being very different. Also, why is it the beginning of another school year yet again? Honestly, I am so sick of all of this.
- Sky is seriously annoying me with that stupid pendant and he is also the one that is fucking up their relationship with his stupid behavior. He should just focus on being a good boyfriend and do the best he can. I get it that in a world of magic superstitions probably have more merit, but he still has control over his own life and the choices he makes. He can “save” their relationship despite the omen of doom.
- Ugh, don’t tell me there will be Helia and Flora drama in this season to compensate for the lack of such in the last? Why did he only introduce Flora as his friend and not as his girlfriend? And how is he so close with the princess of Linphea? Is he from Linphea as well?
- I agree with Stella. Just when we all thought they were done, they started making even more transformations.
- I don’t think we’ve seen Daphne be anything but calm but it’s understandable when she is talking about the thing that made her a disembodied spirit. Still it feels weird to see her not believe that Bloom can handle whatever comes her way. Especially after the defeat of the Ancestral Witches. I guess that is what bugs me in this scene.
- Wow, Darcy admitted that Winx are stronger than them and neither Icy, nor Stormy protested? It’s good that they’re self-aware. It just seems a little OOC. And another power up in two consecutive episodes? Seriously? Will they ever get anything done on their own again?
- At least Sky is asking for advice. I am surprised that they are letting him interact with Flora yet again but I actually kinda like it.
- Why are they all gasping in surprise. They have been to the archive already when Bloom stole the Codex in season 2. It is the same room; they have seen it. Get over it already.
(- *sigh* I just lost my thoughts on half the episode. This season is not agreeing with me.)
- Flora was acting weird while Crystal was helping Helia. It was kind of like she was mad it was Crystal who could save him and not her and that is weird for Flora. I think she would have just been grateful he was saved.
- I suffer when the books suffer... and they did suffer a lot in this episode. Also, how come Stormy is creating life again? This still doesn’t make sense to me but compared to other things, it is more minor.
- I love Darcy’s hypnotic powers and the fact that she was using them on Stella. I think I might be starting to seriously consider this ship (as opposed to just entertaining the possibility of a cool dynamic between them). I mean, Stella looked like she’s seen the hottest new fashion collection and I know it was the magic but still. I kinda want a Darcy who is on her own (without her sisters) and manipulating/spelling Stella into being with her so that she could make place for herself in the Solarian court. And then she falls in love, of course.
- Just please tell me Sky won’t be without his memories for the rest of the season because that will just be too annoying. If they are going for drama, it would be good to at least make it relevant instead of shoving it in there by the ton for the sake of it.
5x04:
- Since when is the whole school so invested in Bloom? They weren’t when she was actually there and even though Winx are kind of legends now, you can bet your ass that there were still fairies that don’t like them. Not to mention that they shouldn’t all know what the hell happened when no one was there to witness it. Why would they let the whole school know if Erendor doesn’t even know yet?
- You are seriously telling me that Stella hadn’t considered being a fashion designer before? Really????? She literally spent her summer after season 1 as an intern for a fashion magazine and has been designing clothes since about the same time. This is just too dumb for words.
- Love how adorably awkward Timmy is. And I love that Tecna doesn’t mind at all. They are just too cute together!
- Ooh, tension between the Trix. That is interesting. Or at least would have been if it were focused more on the power balance in their own dynamic rather than on hate vs love for Tritannus. Why does everything have to be about guys?
- At least Flora seems to like Crystal now which is cool. But I cannot express how annoyed I am by the fact that the whole thing with the pendant is preventing him from getting his memories back. And the stupid thing is that this actually has potential. Losing the pendant could be the peak of Sky’s guilt towards Bloom for all the pain he’s caused her (about Diaspro and not only) and that could be very interesting to explore but this show will never go that deep. It’ll just remain as wasted potential. Just like everything else is.
- Okay, why does no one ever start with amnesia patients by asking them how they would like to go about things, how they feel? Stuff like that.
- Tecna really turned into a robot. Again, no fucking magical system to explain how you can turn a human into a robot. Plus, this could be interesting as well and also really deep but, again, this is Winx. It is not going to be deep. Even though they could have done so much with that premise and given Tecna a really cool arc.
- Ah, yes, I forgot to mention this while I was on the previous episode. I am done with Neptune being so dismissive and even aggressive against his other son. Like, maybe if you had tried some parenting, none of this would have come to pass. Just a thought. I am not saying that parents can prevent any bad choices their kids make but I am saying that he doesn’t look like he tried too hard to be a good dad. Nereus only turned out okay because they are twins and one of them has to be good while the other is evil. I am glad at least someone is trying to reach Tritannus even if he is beyond saving.
- Oh, off, Tritanus is not messing around. You know what? I actually like that. It was about time they made the villains as ruthless as they are trying to make them out to be. Even if I feel bad for his family because they just wanted to help him.
- Why do the selkies talk in the third person? They just went from useless to majorly annoying.
- Why don’t they just go get Faragonda? She may at least know what they are dealing with and possibly clue them in on how to unspell Tecna. They don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just find someone who knows how it was made.
- Great, they just set fire to the archive and nobody bothered to put it out. And they also released the elements in there. The question remains - will the archive survive their search for the Sirenix book? (What the hell were those other books, though? I would like to know where they came from.)
- Okay, but wasn’t the book Tecna opened cursed? What happened to that? And why did the spell on her phone only activate after she opened the book? This doesn’t make sense.
5x05:
- I am very confused about the order of episodes. “The Lilo” should be before “The Power of Harmonix” because they are still using their Believix powers but it makes more sense for the Harmonix episode to be after “The Book of Sirenix”. Anyway, I am watching “The Lilo” because Wikipedia says it’s the fifth episode even though it looks more like filler that wasn’t even meant to be in the season.
- At least we get to see Flora do something this time. She is the most neglected and it’s good to see her use magic for something else other than growing ivy. Seriously, Flo, chill with the ivy.
- “When I think of you, Helia, I believe in myself.” Because she can’t believe in herself if she doesn’t have a boyfriend. The intro is so totally right! What a way to show girl power!
- Why is the animation overly flowy? Is it because it is closer to 3D in order to tie better with the actual 3D later on? It kinda pokes out your eyes sometimes. Or at least mine.
- Someone remembered that the Whisperian Crystals were a thing. I love how they just made them sort of like GPS for magical objects even though they were only supposed to track the Dragon Fire. Proof of that is the fact that they never used them to track the Ring of Solaria even though they wanted it as well. So this is just a cop out to give them a chance to find the Lilo.
- Of course, the Lilo is in the possession of Mitzi’s little sister. Why wouldn’t it be?
- Gotta love how even the writers realized that it was too convenient for everything to be in Gardenia so they started making up excuses for it.
- Wait, how does Mitzi know who the Trix are? Have they... They haven’t met, right? What the hell? Also, Icy was literally standing in front of Macy but she couldn’t just grab the plant herself and had to order Darcy and Stormy to do it? Lazy much?
- Darcy’s powers are going back to their peak this season and I am so here for it.
- Flora legit just hit Icy with her shield. That was a good move and a little more aggressive than I would have expected from Flora but I’m not complaining.
- Great way to almost hit Macy, Stella.
- There was zero point to this episode. I guess they just had to do something to get them to a total of 26 episodes. And putting it right before the episode in which they get Harmonix is just ridiculous because they just powered up their Believix... right before they’ll stop using it.
5x06:
- They can’t even open the Book of Sirenix? Huh, that’s... kinda interesting actually.
- Oh, come on! Just when Bloom was making progress, Crystal brings in Diaspro. You have to love how the writers are implying that Crystal is no good by having her being friends with Diaspro. I thought we were over the Crystal drama but it looks like there will be more. And why is Bloom not losing her mind? Diaspro literally mind controlled Sky! Goddammit, it’s in situations like this I wish I could trust Erendor to do the best for his son! If Bloom could trust he wouldn’t side with Diaspro, she could have called him to let him make sure Diaspro stays away from Sky.
- Oh, they can lose their powers if they fail the quest? I like that! Extra stakes besides the Tritannus situation. This feels more intense now and I am here for it.
- I like the implication that there are other great fairies in the Magic Dimension and it’s not just Winx. Less so fond of the fact that the other fairies seem to be underhanded but I’ll take what I can get.
- Awwwww! That scene with Stella, Tecna and Musa was so precious! I love Stella’s joking and the fact that Tecna is so upset about what happened but she still believes their reassurances! And Musa saying she might start talking about her mother... *sob* This is so precious! They are opening up to each other even more than they have already! And about the tough topics. Ah, my heart!
- Okay, I kinda like the solidarity between Bloom and Layla. Also, the fact that Flora finally figured out what they are doing. Though, that’s kinda weird to me. Flora has been more wary of the reckless plans but I don’t think she would put her powers above her friends and possibly Layla’s whole realm if not the whole universe.
- Really wish it would have been someone else that had saved the horse and not Bloom.
- “Shadow hand”? Man, I was right. Darcy’s powers are peaking! Also, whatever spell Icy used on Winx to make it harder for them to move was super cool as well. I like it.
- They have to complete the Quest in one lunar cycle? That’s 28 days... On Earth. Maybe they should have specified which moon. Since Solaria has 2 suns there are probably millions of moons out there. Okay, that isn’t working out and I wish they had been more specific with it. This episode had some cool stuff about the Magic Dimension already and they could have done more. Anyway, one lunar cycle sounds like a short time but since it’s Winx, it is probably a long time.
- Oh, they just all got Harmonix without doing anything in order to earn it. Greaaaaat. And I have to say that the Harmonix design is so impractical. Why so many veils? They’re just gonna boggle them down. Of course, nothing ever gets wet on shows but seriously? If you’re fighting with someone, they can grab you by the veils or the veils can tangle around you and become the reason for your demise. This is stupid.
- Okay, so Tecna was being really insecure but they left her behind in the search of the Gem of Self-confidence? Like, you just threw away a golden opportunity. I am into the idea that they are going in the Magical Reality Chamber to still be at the place of the action so to speak and be able to help the rest better, though.
- Love the idea of the boat that can go to any water body. I would like one. Less so enthused about the contradiction in this very episode. Stella was complaining about wearing heels when she could have just changed with magic. The proof is right there since she changed hers, Bloom’s and Layla’s whole outfits just about 10 minutes later. This is ridiculous.
- Not @ the way the writers already threw Roy in despite the fact that it has been just five episodes since the beginning of the season. Also not @ the way he seems to be the stereotypical “girls need my protection” guy. Wish Layla would just keep not liking him. But they are probably trying to emulate what happened with Nabu at first. Ugh, I hate this so much I can’t even tell you.
- Oh, come on! They’ll be bonding with the selkies now? Let me guess, that was only written so that the selkies can get their powers back through the bonds, So Tritannus will enter the Infinite Ocean with the stolen selkie powers and Winx will enter it with help from their bonded selkies. This is so transparent, I can’t even. Also, totally needed their selkies to be matching the color of their Harmonix. I mean, how else are you gonna tell that they’re their bonded selkies? Not like they have personalities or are relevant in any way. Also, can another fairy bond with a selkie that has been “taken”? Like, there is a pixie for every fairy but the selkies are much less so... what the hell? This doesn’t make any sense.
- I hate what they did with the challenge for self-confidence. They could have done so much better. But first, Bloom’s test is all about Sky (which is dumb as fuck because it literally tells you their relationship is the biggest source of insecurity in her life) and Stella’s is about her not having confidence in her fashion taste? Really? Layla’s was most cutting as always but they didn’t even try to make it hard. It was so obvious that Nabu was an illusion because he was being cruel to her and the real Nabu would never. They should have gone for something else that would have really made her struggle with figuring out it is not real. Plus, by figuring out it is not real, she didn’t exactly confront her issue with confidence. And Bloom and Stella couldn’t even break out of it on their own and needed her help. How is that successfully passing the test?!?!?!?! And I was just starting to think that this could be getting better. It was I who should have known better.
5x07:
- Aww, I love how dedicated Stella is to knowing stuff about Solaria. She is going to be a precious queen. Also, her guardian of Sirenix is so beautiful.
- Ugh, the Trix are pulled apart again. I hate it. Darcy and Stormy do have a point. I just wish Icy would keep her head in the game. Also, do they sleep out in the open? In a swamp or whatever the hell that is?
- Wow, Sky that has no memory treats Bloom better than Sky that has memory of her. Interesting. Like, if he can calm her worries about Diaspro so easily when he doesn’t even remember how much he loves her, why didn’t he do that in the previous seasons? Honestly.
- Roy is annoying me just by cheering for Winx. This is not going well.
- Oh, damn, Flora got turned into stone. What did Tritannus do to that jellyfish? Turn it into Medusa (lmao, fun fact - jellyfish is called medusa [more like meduza but still] in Bulgarian)? Seriously. And why is Flora the one saving the selkies when she is the only one that isn’t bonded to any?
- Since the Trix also didn’t put any work into earning their powers, it is only fair that Winx get a free upgrade as well. I am just glad that at least the Harmonix spells look differently even though they function in the same generic way.
- Hey, Sky is actually starting to remember? Good. I was prepared to suffer through this amnesia arc up until 5x13 at least but now I have timid hope that it will not last that long. I guess the writers haven’t heard of muscle memory, however.
- How did the Gem of Confidence turn Flora back into herself when the jellyfish that turned her into stone had nothing to do with it? It was Tritannus’ doing and not even intentional. It shouldn’t have had petrifying powers in the first place. None of this makes any sense. Not to mention that the Gem somehow multiplied to six gems. I mean, really? Would’ve been much better if they could only choose to complete one box aka everyone else would lose their powers but then through their shared goal (aka Faragonda telling them that they have to be of one mind and heart) they could have all gotten the Sirenix. Just no other powers. That would have been way more interesting (obviously Layla would be the one whose box they’d complete and I don’t believe the Dragon Fire can be extinguished anyway so Bloom could even have a loophole out of that). And besides, they don’t use the old transformations anyway.
5x08:
- Stella is rocking that outfit. But why streaks? Stella, no!
- Tecna and Timmy are absolutely adorable with their mega nerdiness. I love it.
- Jeez, really? Sky is a better dancer with amnesia than Brandon is? I mean, this could have been plausible if they hadn’t established already in the previous episode that his muscle memory has fucked off into oblivion as well. Otherwise, yes. As royalty, he is probably better at dancing. Even though battle requires a lot of coordination as well. But nice of Kiko to try to help.
- Come on, Stella, you’re being insensitive. You would be “moping” too if Brandon had died. Please, don’t try to set Layla up with guys. Just give her some time to grieve!
- I don’t know what Stella expected. Of course, Layla is going to get offended by that. She doesn’t want company, she wants Nabu back.
- Oh, come on! Musa really got mad at Riven just because he liked the music another girl was playing? What, is he supposed to only listen to her music now? She isn’t even the vocalist of their band.
- They only have 10 days left to complete the missions? When did they manage to waste so much time? Like, they legit got the first thing done in one day. Where did the other go?
- Tressa has had so much growth since season 3. I love her. Really wish they’d let her be queen. But wtf, why can the king know what all of his subjects are doing? That is so invasive. Also, Layla should not be in the range of his powers. Man, the writers are really pulling some bullshit here.
- You’d think the selkies will learn that they can’t stop Tritanus and will try to not get in his way so that he wouldn’t get to steal their powers. But nope, they are both useless and stupid.
- Okay, Stella did mess up and she should have known why what she did was a bad idea but Layla giving her the silent treatment is not going to help either. I hope that the fact that Musa is dealing with the loss of her mother can help the two of them patch things up as well. Maybe there will be a lesson in this for both of them.
- Now it makes sense why Musa turned into an ocean type of monster. And this is a good opportunity for Stella and Layla to find their balance again and help save Musa.
- Stella’s attacks are still hurting Musa. And wouldn’t it make more sense for Layla to use her powers to stop her? She could make a net with morphix that will be both more reliable and less harmful for Musa. Seriously, why do they always make the dumbest choices possible?
- You know what would have been more interesting? If the healing of the bond could only work one way and the selkie didn’t get her powers back. They could have brought in Galatea to also bond with her in order to restore her powers later on so that they could enter the Infinite Ocean. That would have been more creative. But nah.
- Stella’s sudden understanding of Layla really came out of nowhere. And it felt like Layla only forgave her because she didn’t want to fight with her anymore, not because she was truly okay with what Stella did. This could have been done so much better.
- These Sirenix quests are so convenient. They all have to do with places the girls know and clues they have history with. It would have been much harder if they had to go to planets they don’t know how to navigate and a better way to do more worldbuilding.
- Bloom really can’t take 10 days away from the Sky mess? They can literally lose their powers forever which could mean handing Tritannus victory but she is more concerned with Sky’s memory that can possibly only get better in the next ten days while she focuses on the mission? Oh, come on!
- They are really trying to push hard the idea that Bloom and Sky are destined to be together. Also, now that they found the shell, can Sky’s memory block disappear? It would make sense. Please, just end this already.
5x09:
- Really? Bloom is sensing that something is wrong with Daphne but Marion isn’t? This could have been a cool moment to bring in the fact that their parents are back. Especially since Bloom isn’t going to do shit about it. I mean, how dense is she that she didn’t recognize the clouds of pollution hanging around Daphne in her dream? Could have at least tried to contact Daphne to make sure she was okay. Especially since she knows that Daphne talks to her through her dreams and that has been A Thing since season 1. I just... cannot.
- I... don’t even know what to say about Stella here. On the one hand I understand her frustration as she feels like no one supports her passion for fashion but on the other hand... Stella, no! Brandon was right that she needs to consider other people’s feelings sometimes, though, I’d say none of Winx exhibited particularly high levels of empathy here except maybe Flora.
- Oh, Tecna. On the one hand I want to say that there shouldn’t be a reason to feel nervous face to face with Timmy when they get along so well, but on the other, we have all experienced what she’s talking about. Texting can be so much easier sometimes even if it can also be dangerous because it lacks the context of body language.
- Seriously? We’re gonna make it through all the girls’ planets. I said it before and I’ll say it again, but this Sirenix Quest sure is damn convenient. At least it is kinda ironic that the Gem of Empathy is on Zenith since they seem to rely on technology more.... Man, that could have been an awesome opportunity to make Zenith more three dimensional by explaining that they develop so much technology so that they could make the lives of everyone easier when they have digital assist aka their focus on technology is driven by empathy. But again, that is just too deep for this show.
- Oh, come on! Stella really turned into a three-year-old? Why the hell would there be an age-changer spell in the pin? This doesn’t make sense. And again, a fucking wasted opportunity. Stella was running low on empathy here so including her in the search for the Gem of Empathy would have provided way more character development than this shit right here. I would have sent Stella, Tecna and Musa to get the Gem and Bloom, Flora and Layla to go look for Daphne. Or better yet, Stella and Tecna for the Gem, Musa and Layla after Tritannus and Bloom and Flora to check on Daphne.
- Is Layla ever going to use her Harmonix powers? Seriously, she has transformed how many times now and I can’t remember her using any of her new magic.
- Why is Layla now smiling at Roy even though she never transitioned from “annoyed” to “friendly teasing”? I hate this so much.
- It must be weird for Brandon to see his girlfriend as a three-year-old while he is still twenty. Like, that will make for a fun conversation once the spell wears off.
- It is so goddamn obvious that Tritannus has been there! Like, did the clouds of pollution not tip you off?????? Honestly, why don’t any of them have normal rationalizing abilities? It is a simple deduction! You don’t need the selkies to tell you! Besides, didn’t they already say that he crossed over to Zenith? This is like looking between a needle and a single straw of hay and having to point out which is the needle and they are failing!
- Shoot, I thought “where the one looks over the many” was supposed to be something of a mathematical riddle or something that would have to make Tecna focus on the whole rather than the details. The throne thing? Just... meh.
- I would have preferred it if their test of empathy involved something that was already inside them and came from themselves rather than them being placed under a spell by the Gem. It could have brought out their most unempathetic thoughts but I still think there was a better way to do this, and a more emotional one.
- Seriously?????? I mean, FOR REAL?!?!?!?!?! THAT is what they had to do to get the gem???????????????????????????????????????????????????? They didn’t even resolve their issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did they prove they were worthy of having it. God, I hate this.
- How did the age-changer spell had any bearing on the plot or the characters? It literally didn’t do anything for Stella or Flora, Musa and Brandon for that matter. They had so many amazing opportunities in this episode and they were all wasted. I just... *frustrated sigh*
5x10:
- Is it just me or is the idea to put the Christmas filler episode right a couple of days before the deadline for the Sirenix Quest the worst idea ever? Well, not the worst because this show is just full of bad ideas but still somewhere up there with the big guys.
- I was gonna get incredibly angry if they’d made Christmas be a thing in the Magic Dimension but they got at least that right. And that way it’s cute that Bloom gets to introduce her friends to a new holiday. They all got so excited about the presents! Adorable! The only thing that would have made this better was if she’d invited Marion and Oritel to Mike and Vanessa’s as well to celebrate together.
- I was ready to hate this episode but it has actually caught my attention. Love how the Trix decided the magic of Christmas is literal magic and they want to steal it from Bloom. This is actually exactly what a funny filler episode should be like.
- Aww, a surprise Musa and Riven moment. That was adorable.
- Am I the only one who is getting Yu Gi Oh vibes from this monster? Okay, four monsters (Why four? That is so random. Three would have made more sense.). They just remind me too much of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
- You know what would be really cool? If Stella made a cage with mirrors at key places to reflect the light beam she shoots at the creatures so that it would keep running through the cage to stop them from reforming.
- Oh, wow. Faragonda showed up. I never thought that would happen. Not that she’s been much use. Like, you fought the Ancestral Witches! Surely, there has to be something you can do! Not to mention that how the hell did the Trix get magic of the darkest order? That’s just bullshit.
- You know what? I would be more worried about the fact that they may not be able to break the spell before they run out of water and food and other essentials. Like, the Christmas thing is upsetting but not a priority right now,
- Okay, the Trix are inside the ice dome but the ice dragons aren’t? That seems like a hole in their plan.
- The others got the spirit but they a little confused. Bloom doesn’t just miss Christmas but spending it with her family and they can’t give her that. Though, none of them didn’t even try to teleport. Depending on the way you do it, maybe they could have gotten out.
- This episode is kinda all over the place but at least it has that cool vibe from season 1 when they got to actually just chill around the school and do some fun stuff. Actually put time in just being friends. Oh, and the friendship charm bracelets are really cute! I love them.
- You know they don’t have what to put in an episode when they give the full transformations twice. Nice job, there.
- Making a hole in the dome does not sound like the best course of action because Winx could have just gotten out of there and forced the Trix to chase them. But no one thought of that.
- I feel second hand embarrassment on Icy’s behalf. If she ever gets to learn that she misunderstood about the magic of Christmas, that is. The way things are going, Bloom is gonna blast them out of the dimension without ever revealing that this was all for nothing.
- Well, Bloom could have just used her Dragon Fire to destroy the ice dragons the moment they appeared and none of that would have happened but why the hell would she do that? I have to say that I would have preferred it if Winx and the Specialists had gone to Gardenia instead of having Gardenia go to Alfea. Like, I get it that they wanted to make Christmas touch the Magic Dimension as well but Alfea has never celebrated a Zenithian-specific holiday for example or a Solarian one. It just makes the whole Winx universe a little too focused on Bloom again.
5x11:
- Omg, I am feeling so bad for Daphne. Hasn’t she suffered enough? Though, I have to say that I am at least glad Icy came up with a decent plan for counteraction this time even if it is cruel. At least it makes sense!
- Why the hell is the wind-rider competition held in Alfea? It should have been in Red Fountain but I guess the animators couldn’t be bothered to pull out their old animation of it and remember how to draw it.
- Bloom giving Sky a pep talk was kinda cute. I get why he would be nervous and it was cool that she did her best to help him. And that moment with throwing some harmless magic his way to show him his own reflexes was actually smart and hella cute as well. I just wish they wouldn’t have gone for the “he is the best Specialist ever to live” thing again but I’ll take it as his friends telling a white lie to soothe his anxiety.
- So the Trix are just being bullies for no reason at all. Also, they already used that invisibility spell when they messed with Tecna’s phone. Or at least it looked the same.
- Poor Kiko. Getting accused for something he didn’t do and then also being attacked by clones. But was it that only he could see them? Because otherwise, it should have tipped Bloom off that something’s wrong.
- They don’t need to remind us every time that there is no time to waste for the Sirenix Quest. We get it. And even if I had the episodes spaced out by weeks, I doubt I would forget that they have a time limit considering that this is not plot heavy and they have mentioned it, like, a million times already.
- Oh, they’re going to Linphea next. Look, even Tecna noticed that all the parts of the Quest have been on their home planets.
- Wow, Flora, you think the flower might be on your planet? Damn, girl, you’re such a genius. No one would have ever guessed. They have an ocean of flowers and she is still not sure? W.O.W.
- Love how it took Faragonda and Saladin a solid minute to interfere. Not like they were in a war or anything and should be 100% prepped to deal with crises. Why would you think that? And Griselda (and the other Alfea teachers) didn’t even get to do anything. Not to mention that Mirta has been studying at Alfea for a forth year now and she didn’t even try to fire at the beasts... You know, what could be considered an instinctive reaction.
- “Only one more keeper...”? Yeah, because there are only six-seven planets in the whole universe! (Didn’t he already get the powers of the selkie of Earth as well as from everyone’s home planets except for Bloom’s? Who’s gonna restore the Earth selkie’s powers... Wait, is it going to be Roxy? And does that mean we’re finally going to Domino this season?)
- I was gonna ask whatever Roy was gonna do without Layla being there but he isn’t there either. So why was he there the other times if not to drive the boat? They gave him one job to justify his presence and then they took that away as well.
- Funny how it is always the selkies of the girls that have gone on the Quest that appear and not any of the others. One of them (I am not even gonna bother to learn their names) said she could sense the presence of her fairy but still. Though, with their powers restored, I guess they could do that.
- Do I remember wrong or are Flora and her selkie the only ones that actually hugged? Cause that was kinda cute.
- Okay, Sky’s plan was good but did Bloom really need him to pull her out of the way? I am pretty sure she could have done that on her own since it was obvious what the plan was.
- If I were Stella, I’d be worried that a plant might eat me too. Having courage doesn’t mean that you can’t be afraid. It means that you find it in yourself to go on despite the fear. So I’d say Stella is courageous enough.
- Okay, but this plant looks like it was touched by Tritannus’ pollution and so did all the rest of the places from the Quest (except for Melody). So that means that what is happening wouldn’t have happened if not for him aka they aren’t actually completing the Quest because they are fighting Tritannus’ influence on the environment, not performing the tasks from the Quest.
- Good! Tecna and Layla are actually being strategical about this even though all Bloom wants is to hang out with the boyfriend. I wouldn’t mind if she didn’t just get targeted. But why the hell would she care about her safety - or Sky’s for that matter - when they can go on a romantic walk instead?
- Really? They need a translator? Flora has communicated with plants numerous times before. She should be able to understand what the Flower of the Depths is saying to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear god, the writers are really trying to be as stupid as possible.
- Why didn’t Bloom try to transform before jumping against the Trix? Or at least shoot some magic at them? Once again, how are they still alive?
- Darcy’s powers are awesome and she’s using them well. I love how she pushed Musa in her own trap. But damn, it was harsh of Musa to try to cause the rocks to crush Darcy. I thought the Trix were supposed to be the cruel ones.
- Wow, I thought Icy would have at least a couple broken bones after Layla smashed her in the rock like that but nope. She’s fine.
- Okay, I actually think that Sky and Bloom are cute in this episode, what the hell? I like the fact that they decided to stop trying to get the past back to him. That may even actually help him remember when he’s not stressing and straining to do it. I thought that Bloom meant one of the memories she wants to keep was that of the shell they found, though. Wasn’t that soulmate special or something?
5x12:
- Icy is really not paying attention, huh? I mean, Tritannus saying that he would give her one more chance somehow didn’t sound too reassuring to me. He gave the Trix their powers so he could probably take them away any time he wants and then destroy them. Which sounded exactly like what he was planning to do before Icy convinced him to give her one more chance.
- Well, they noticed the pattern of the Quest running through all their home planets. They could have tried looking for the yellow reef on Domino before asking the guardian of the Sirenix box. Just to do something on their own, you know.
- Who let Bloom go in that dress? Didn’t Tecna say Stella was there as well? How could she let Bloom even put that thing on, let alone wear it to the Domino renewal celebration. Also, why the hell is that happening only now? It has been a season and a half since Domino was restored. I thought this would be the discussion of Tritannus.
- Love how they didn’t even redo the footage from SotLK and just slapped the different art style right in the middle of the one from season 5. Lazy as lazy gets.
- Um, wasn’t the plan to capture Bloom? And if they changed it to getting Marion and Oritel, why didn’t they try to do that when Bloom wasn’t there? They couldn’t get her but they will somehow get her parents who literally defeated the Ancestral Witches while Bloom and two or three of her friends plus Sky are also there? How does that make sense?
- Oh, come on! The dresses looked much better without the flowers. Also, you’re telling me that Stella made them fit the same theme as Bloom’s but she didn’t have anything to do with Bloom’s dress? This is just... ridiculous. Also, how do flowers relate to Domino? Sparks or even gems would have made better sense. A fire pattern even.
- Marion and Oritel are giving very different vibes from the ones in Magical Adventure and even SotLK (even though they had like five lines each in that one).
- Did Bloom suddenly forget that Sky does not remember how he saved the Sword? And she left him alone even though he doesn’t have his memories? Also, why do none of their parents know about that? And up until this point, there were always three of them going on the Quest. But now that Bloom is actually needed somewhere else she is going even though she could have left it to Stella, Layla and Flora? Come on!
- Didn’t the pendant sink in the ocean on Earth? Where are the selkies now? And how come Flora’s selkie decided that she will know who the pendant belongs to? You know, out of the infinite number of people in the whole universe. The fact that she just so happens to actually know is yet another too convenient convenience but still.
- The mimicry fish are adorable and I love them.
- Wait, can any selkie open any portal? I thought they could only open the portals that they were guarding. But then Winx shouldn’t have been able to pass from Domino back to wherever Tritannus attacked - Andros maybe?
- Love how Marion instantly jumped away when the Trix attacked despite how much her outfit must weigh. And you’re telling me that Oritel is the fighter between the two of them? Yeah, right. Just please, let her use her magic to stop the Trix. We know she has it! Don’t make her look helpless because she is far from it.
- Well, of course, even the oceans of Domino are the best and have the rarest fish even though it is the planet of the Dragon Fire and Andros is the center of all oceans. Makes perfect sense.
- Okay, Marion and Oritel are definitely giving waaaay different vibes from the ones in the movies but I have to say that I kinda like how fierce they are. Not @ Oritel’s “Still have it in you?” because duh, she obviously does and even more so than you do, Oritel, but other than that I love how smoothly they just switch from celebration to a fight that is potentially for their lives. Also, I like that Sky gets to fight with them... Or at least he was supposed to.
- Yes, the one time Bloom is there, the others are completely useless. Also, that thing is not a coral. Wasn’t the Gem supposed to be in the jaws of the coral, not whatever the hell this fish is. And how is it in its mouth? How does it not ingest it when it eats? This doesn’t make sense.
- Love whatever Marion did there with shooting magic out of her sword. However, I don’t like the fact that the writers have forgotten she has magic and is not defenseless without a sword. And how did that trick even work? She could have just turned around and seen that it wasn’t the real Oritel. Not to mention that if Oritel knows the Trix are descendants of the Ancestral Witches, Marion does too aka she should have known that one of them has illusion powers. Given the fact that they fought a whole war against Lysslis, I am pretty sure she has faced similar tricks before and should have known better.
- Please, tell me the creature was supposed to vanish and it wasn’t Bloom that vaporized it from inside. Also, I so totally knew the last gem would be green. It made perfect sense.
- At least they remembered that Oritel’s sword is supposed to be special because it has Dragon Fire in it.
- Bloom and Sky saving her parents “together” makes no sense because Sky doesn’t have magic. So it wasn’t him that helped her save them but the sword.
- Their declarations of love were kinda undermined by him remembering and in such stupid way. Like, all the progress he made in restoring their relationship and even remembering a little wouldn’t have mattered if he hadn’t gotten the pendant back. Aka his blockage wasn’t actually going away. It was still there which means that his emotions were not getting worked out.
- I know Marion and Oritel will not go help save Daphne even though that would be the only logical thing and I am so fucking mad about it, you don’t even know.
5x13:
- Oh, god! They changed even the intro and the 3D animation is as ugly as I remember it to be. Love how they also spoil the fact that the girls will get Sirenix in this episode. Not that the title of the episode doesn’t.
- I have beef with this recap. That fish that had the Gem of Courage was so totally not a shark. It just wasn’t. I’m no shark expert but that was definitely not a shark. It looks like some fish you can find in the depths (I don’t remember their name) but it sure as hell ain’t a fucking shark.
- What training? They need to go get Daphne! Also, they handled Believix just fine. If Alfea had given them proper education, they should be able to control any transformation. Like, those should operate according to some goddamn logic.
- If Daphne hadn’t already told him, then why did she do it now? Man, he should have just made her talk before he told the Trix to leave Domino. Now that they were no longer there, Daphne didn’t have any reason to talk. She must have known that Bloom would find their parents so Tritannus lost his leverage. This is so nonsensical.
- What the hell does it mean that they have to look inside themselves? How is that gonna lead them to lake Roccaluche? The only one connected to it is Bloom because Daphne is her sister. This is ridiculous.
- How big is that lake and why does it look exactly the same way that the sea does? There is a difference between sweet water bodies and salt water bodies and the life inside them, you know, writers.
- Why would there be a protection system to guard the source of a whole ass goddamn transformation? It makes much more sense that anyone could just walk in and destroy it in 0.3 seconds.
- They just had to say that they will keep exhibiting the three virtues the Gems represented in order to get the location of the source of Sirenix? Man, really? Ugh, that is just so... ridiculously frustrating.
- For people who can lose their magic the same day, they sure don’t seem to be worried. Lounging and all.
- They know Tritannus was there. Obviously that is the explanation as to why the selkies did not find them.
- Yes, they totally look like they’ve “got this”.
- I actually liked the fact that Bloom had to give up finding out where Daphne is in order to save the lake. Seeing all the panicked animals rush around really drives home what is going on because they will all die if the lake dries completely.
- Oh, I am totally going to cry over Daphne’s anguish here. This looks so brutal. But here’s a thought for you. The whole power of Sirenix was put under a curse, right? Then why didn’t the Trix get affected by it? And if the Sirenix power is removed from Daphne, shouldn’t the curse disappear as well?
- Love how they forgot about the part where Sirenix was cursed even before Tritannus messed with the source.
- I hate the Sirenix transformation. It is the ugliest one to me and why did they have to go and give them streaks? The 3D look was bad enough already. Only the Trix’ Sirenix design is worse than this. (No, actually whatever the hell is happening to the Trix in the end of season 7 is the worst design idea they have ever had but I haven’t watched that.)
- So they didn’t need the selkies to enter the Infinite Ocean? Then how come that is what Tritannus needed? What the hell is wrong with the logistics of this whole thing?
- Where did all these minions come from? Did whatever he did to the... stone? thingy poison the nearby water and turn all creatures into his minions? Didn’t that work only on merfolk? If so, the Infinite Ocean seems overpopulated.
- They totally could have had Marion and Oritel in this but once Tritannus took Daphne into the Infinite Ocean, they would have needed to let Winx handle the rescue mission because the two of them wouldn’t be able to enter the Infinite Ocean. And boom, problem solved. They don’t have to drag Oritel and Marion through every episode while they still could have shown that they cared. Idk what was so complicated about that.

How did you feel about the last episode of all american if you’re caught up?
ALL AMERICAN 3.07 SPOILERS AHEAD
oooh! thank you for asking! spencer and olivia have had mad chemistry since season one episode one so i’m here for 2021 being their year of finally Realising Things. wish it didn’t have to come at the expense of layla’s feelings or her friendship with olivia though because she’s such a sweetheart and i love her!!! but also i get it in a narrative sense. spencer’s constantly been the golden boy with all the answers, it makes sense for the writers to show that he’s not immune to making mistakes. i just hope that if they’re gonna go with spencer and olivia as a thing after this that that’s it. none of these characters deserve the nonsense of bouncing around between each other just for the drama of it all. let layla have peace!!!! and maybe a gf tbh i’ve been getting more energy out of her and coop’s scenes than hers and spencer’s for a while.
jordan and simone are a strange ship for me in the sense that i think they’re adorable, but i guess their build up was kind of weak for me when you compare it to spencer and his relationships with layla and olivia. interested to see where the marriage goes since simone’s got her spinoff show coming??? would also be interested in some scenes involving jordan repping the himbo nation because like.... the fact that every time jj suggests something dumb to do they’re all judging him for it meanwhile apparently jordan’s out there trying to ride a segway down the stairs???
honestly i just need more eps of the boys doing dumb boy stuff. the drama’s all well and good but i think tv shows in general always focus so hard on trying to have something happening and they don’t realise people also like to see the characters just... being friends you know??? like the scenes at the cabin last week were so cute n fun!!!! until shit hit the fan, obviously.
this got long and idek where i was going with half of it but long story short i love this show so much i love these characters so much i just want them all to be HAPPY 😭
