Is there anybody that little Opal would genuinely dislike?
Yes— there’s one person that Opal absolutely HATED as a small child. We’re talking hissing + shrieking + clumsy attempts at combat whenever she makes eye contact with this individual. If they’re in the same room, it’s on sight. Ark and Twig don’t take the threat seriously enough for her tastes, so she’s taken on the burden of guarding her family against that wretched scumbag she loathes so deeply.

What Lies Beneath - Chapter 3 - x_etoile_x - Black Sails [Archive of Our Own]

Chapters: 3/3
Fandom: Black Sails
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Captain Flint | James McGraw/John Silver
Characters: Captain Flint | James McGraw, John Silver
Additional Tags: Demon AU, Monsterfucking, Oral Sex, Anal Sex, Episode Related, 2.7, Flint is very tormented, and Silver is always looking for an angle, because someone around here has to have common sense when dealing with the supernatural, Rimming, i would not say the consent is dubious exactly, but its tricky at some points, they're working through some things, Jewish John Silver, very incidentally, what if Silver's canon ideas about Flint were true: the fic
Summary:
Silver is braced for the transformation, and so he manages to maintain his composure, though when the pressure of fingers against his skull becomes the sharp flex of talons his knees go weak. Huge, bat-like wings erupt from Flint’s back, and horns sprout above his temples; by the time it's over, he has grown to at least half again his normal size. His face is still more or less his own, but his eyes are decidedly reptilian, and they watch Silver warily.
“Oh, hello,” Silver murmurs, soft and soothing, determined not to be ruled by his fear. “Aren’t you magnificent?”
Flint’s lips pull back to reveal sharp, gleaming teeth; he gives a warning growl.
“None of that now,” Silver says, holding his ground as he would with a skittish animal. “You aren’t going to frighten me away. Did you not think I knew what I was asking for?”

rick's backstory introduced a lot of plot holes and basically you can either accept the pre-backstory-reveal era as its own subset of canon OR you can headcanon ways for them to make sense SO i think the main issue with the multiverse setup is birdperson, because he's presumably as infinite as everyone else BUT the way rick acts about him would only make sense if it's always the same birdperson FURTHERMORE some moments absolutely ring hollow because of the backstory, in particular any nods to rick c-137 and morty prime having interacted before rick landed in the prime dimension just before s1 such as the picture of rick holding baby morty in bird person's house and rick's memory of holding baby morty SO for the sake of narrative cohesion rick should always have been friends with the same birdperson, and to a lesser extent the same morty, and overall because rick knew the prime dimension was the prime dimension when he settled there it makes sense for him to have spent a lot of time there before THEREFORE instead of his birdperson being some random universe's birdperson it would make sense for him to be the prime dimension's birdperson AND THEN with the possibility that rick spent a lot of time in the prime dimension prior to s1 (and even the creation of the citadel of ricks) while he hunted rick prime - it makes sense for him to have exhausted earth prime for resources on where to find rick prime SO that means he may have even been around the prime dimension for morty prime's birth (maybe part of him thought morty's birth would draw rick prime back into the picture, who knows) AND SO the baby photos and memories are indeed of morty prime. ffdkffffggjtjfgggg,,,,,,,,, ,,

Why doesn't Astrofil stop Belos from destroying the Isles?
It's been mentioned a few times on this blog that Astrophel wrongfully imprisioned and isolated from any potential sources of moral guidance, and been left to stew in his anger for a very long time.
These two have a lot of overlapping trauma and they both blame the Isles as the source of that trauma. This does not justify their actions and they are not in the right for behaving this way, and figuring this out is a major part of Astrophel's character arc late in the au. If the circumstances were even slightly different, it would not be this way. As it is, Philip relies on Astrophel for moral guidance and Astrophel is acting on his emotions rather than any sense of morality.
So, since that's been covered, I'm assuming you're referring to the bit Dollie said about Astrophel later being forgiven (but calling them out) for his part in the DoU and what occurs after Belos returns to the Demon Realm and tries. Why doesn't Astrophel try to stop him?
Well, who says he doesn't? You aren't the one writing this AU, you don't know what Dollie and I have planned for the end. Wait and see what happens.

Leorio takes a fistful of fries from their little container and tosses them at Killua.
“Kya! Gon! Riolo is attacking me!”
Killua pouts, giving big old doe eyes to Gon, who walks over.
“Leorio, don’t bully Killua.”
Gon steps in front of Killua protectively, and Leorio gapes like a fish.
“What?! You’re scolding me!? That was a totally fake scream!”
